We arrived to locked doors (for security) and when we were greeted she told us she wasn’t expecting anyone to check in. I showed our reservation and she apologized. We were given a different room than we booked, which had an upstairs, which is where the bathroom was, but not the bedroom. I specifically avoided booking this room type. I was then told our original room was not available and we would have to pay more to get another room type. Finally the settled and gave us the room on one floor. Our interactions with the staff were neither positive or negative, but neutral. It seemed we were a bother when we would engage. I didn’t like having to rattle the door every time we tried to come in.
The location is good, not far from the market, and not far from the 4 corners. With the days being shorter in January, it was a bit uncomfortable waking some of the side streets in the dark.
If I was to return to Palermo, I would consider staying here again, bit my preference would be to stay on one of the busy main streets, with the short dark days. Maybe longer sunny days would have felt different.

I visited this property during the off season. The property exceeded my expectations. I was given two rooms that adjoined via a staircase. The rooms were a ground floor and 2nd level. The room was clean, modern, comfortable, and the staff was attentive. The hotel offered laundry services and is very close the the main road that is pedestrian only and near the area where most restaurants and shopping are located. The hotel is in a very safe and walkable neighborhood. My stay here was very relaxing and the experience at this hotel was charming. It truly felt like a home away from home. I would definitely re-book at this hotel again.

Great hotel, the staff are super friendly and helpful. The rooms were comfortable, spotless and nicely decorated. The beds were very comfortable - nice sheets and bedding. They have a nice breakfast buffet with a variety of baked goods, meats and fruits.
The location is great for walking in the historical center and it is an easy walk to Teatro Massimo. I will definitely stay at Palazzo Brunaccini Hotel again.

In the last night of staying, there was noise above our floor, called the front desk at about 10 pm who took care of it promptly!

The room was very hot. The AC was not efficient. The hotel provides guests with fans, which tells me they know the rooms are hot. Bathroom was so small knees touch the shower doors when sitting on toilet. Shower head did not stay on when showering it kept falling down. Water was never cold. Only warm/hot water available? Very uncomfortable.

Incredible noisy; you can hear absolutely everything going on outside and inside; I didn’t sleep at all. Mattress felt like a boxspring- very hard. The safe didn’t work, but only being in Palermo for one night, I didn’t bother asking for a fix. The staff at the front desk were nice and the location is very central, but overall did not feel like good value for the price.

The architecture of the building and antiques were nice otherwise nothing.

Modern amenities did not work and no one cared. Air conditioning does not work, safe does not work, refrigerator does not work, bed is hard old spring mattress. I throughly checked before booking to make sure there was air conditioning and an elevator but neither were available for the room i was given. My room requires you climb 2 sets of stairs, no offer of help with the luggage. I talked to management they wanted to charge me 40 euros to move to another room. This was horrible start to my stay in Palermo.

Unfortunately we did not feel our room lived up to the 4 star rating. We booked a classic room but were given an annex self catering room which came with a small electric hob & a sink, most cupboard space was used up with storing pots & pans, not what we were expecting, I would describe this room as a bit scruffy & in need of refurbishing & not what I thought I had booked. When I went to reception the next morning to explain our feelings I was made to feel that I was in the wrong & this was totally acceptable for what we had booked. The only option I was given was to pay another 100 euros per night. I understand that we didn’t book the nicest room in the hotel however I think it should be made clear when booking a room in this hotel that you could end up with a self catering annex room rather than a room in the hotel, wouldn’t recommend. Staff were friendly about it though!

The hotel was hard to find, down an unmarked side street, to piazza. Came from the train station. Asking two locals on the way, even they weren’t aware, but did eventually find it for me. The room was spacious, with comfortable bedding. Although up an elevator, also up a flight of stairs with suitcase. I had a delicious dinner at the hotel restaurant.

Completely underwhelming experience, from the unfriendly reception staff to the very poor quality furnishings and bedding provided. Though located within easy walking distance of the main sights and walking areas of Palermo, we felt uneasy much of the time there. Would not return there —or to Palermo itself, for that matter… most of it looks like a graffiti covered recently bombed out city in need of a complete makeover.

The hotel is clean, but the rooms are outdated. It is close to via Roma and other areas of the Centro historico. It is close to Ballaro market.

It did feel a bit unsafe to walk late at night.

The staff is nice and friendly. There is breakfast but I did not get the chance to have it.

This is a luxury, upscale property very close to the city center and many historical areas. The hotel hosts and staff were so friendly and helpful. They provided recommendations for how to tour Palermo and also their favorite restaurants in the area.

There are so many beautiful pieces of art displayed in the hotel. You feel you are part of something historical when you enter.

The room was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed to be comfortable. The furniture has seen better days...it's been there a while. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and the air conditioning worked perfectly.

The hotel is located very close to the market which is great during the day, but a little scary at night. We asked about this, and we were told walk the opposite way toward the touristy area at night. Super helpful to know! The hotel has a secured entrance where a staff member has to allow in. I liked this added measure of security.

The breakfast buffet provided was fresh and filled us up for the day. We also tried the restaurant at night and we were delighted with the freshness and flavor. Having access to a top quality restaurant at the hotel was a bonus after long days of exploring.

Overall, I highly recommend this property!

Just avoid it. It is Not a 4-star hotel, more like 2. Shoddy construction on top floor, elevator dont get there you have to climb two flights of steep stairs. Tin roof becomes unbearably noisy during rain. Impossible to sleep hearing big drops of water aginst metal all time.
No Heating, outside temp was 7C and freezing inside the room.
Terrible washroom, dark, tight shower badly designed and extractor with annoying noise like a dentist drill all time.
Left early even paying fee of unsused night (not cheap) but better than staying.
And worse, breakfast was all cold (eggs cold!) attended by a guy who should have stayed home sick, coughing his lungs out and snorting loudly trying to clear his nose. Disgusting.

Only issue was that parking is limited and a rough group of people hung out and homeless people were sleeping within feet of some of our cars.

Breakfast itself was a little limited though and not very inspiring.

Great location in terms of access to the various sights of the city however, people openly doing drugs within 20 metres of the front door was not a great look.

Both nights it was noisy outside with what sounded like drunks, or maybe the drug users, arguing/shouting at each other.

Great location. Quiet outside but can walk to the Ballarò Market and Quattro Canti. About a 12 minute walk from the central train station as well. The room was beautiful and the hotel is tasteful. There is an attached restaurant for dinner if you don’t feel like going out. The staff was helpful and professional. I would stay again. Just note that the hot water in the shower does not last long.

I pulled into the front of this property at 10pm on a Monday night and there were several people (at least 10) gathered on the church steps directly next to the property/parking lot smoking heroine out of tin foil, nodding off etc. My wife and I didn't leave the car, as we were tired and hungry from a long day of travel and felt unsafe. We sat in the car outside of the hotel for several minutes exploring other options while the attendant at the front desk just watched us, and a few of the people using drugs passed back and forth around our car. The man inside the hotel never acknowledged us or offered assistance and we decided to leave. Upon requesting a refund through orbitz we were told that the hotel could not be responsible for what happened \"out of the hotel\" - even though this all occurred in the hotel parking lot. The hotel took no pains to even try to deny the likelihood of our experience. Terrible customer care from Orbitz and extremely poor sense of responsibility or regard for safety/comfort from the hotel. No one traveling should have to walk by people using heroine to get to dinner in Sicily, let alone check in to their hotel.

We loved Palermo, and this hotel is in a great location for walking to all the major sights. The neighborhood looks less than ideal, but we ended up liking it. Our room—really a suite—was spacious and quiet. The high point was really the hotel restaurant—we had two superb meals there, on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and the chef deserves major compliments.
We were less than enthusiastic, however, about a few of the people working at the front desk. They were unable to find us a restaurant open on Christmas Eve, mainly because they didn’t really try: they never mentioned or posted information to let us know that the hotel restaurant and bar would be closed during the evening on Christmas, so we only discovered this after it was too late to make alternate plans. If we had known earlier, we could have picked up wine and snacks during the afternoon when many places were open. And although the hotel is inside the ZTL, it makes no provision for guest permits—we were told when we asked about it that we would have to go to a tabacchaio, and we were given vague directions on how to find one. The hotel could easily handle this (as did other hotels during our trip), and in general should encourage the staff to be more proactive and friendly.

2000 year history with modern conforts

3 days 2 nights here in Taormina on vacation. You could same a week easy and this hotel would be a fine location.
