The hotel internet was not good. It is a Bed and Breakfast place, but did not offer breakfast. For this trip, we stayed five B&B places, only this one did not provide breakfast. It states with breakfast when we made booking.

Please note hotel indicates having laundry place is not in hotel. It is public laundry on street.

What a little gem in central Ortigia, just a few minutes walk fro everything. Roof top terrace room with amazing views over Ortigia and on a clear day Mount Etna can be clearly seen...what a view. Amazing sunsets. Next door to San Filippo church, we were lucky to see two weddings take place. Friendly staff. Highly recommend

We loved the feeling of space and the size of our apartment was good. Everywhere was light plus we had a large terrace with charming view to the sea over the rooftops. The dining area, although small, was light and very attractively presented with a wide selection of breakfast goodies. The location also was excellent although somewhat difficult to find and parking in Ortigia is a nightmare (not their fault). Our only complaint was with the bathroom which needed some thought, the towels were not drying between use as there was no hanging rail and very little air circulating with the small upstairs windows - one suggestion is that they provide a clothes stand to go on the terrace which seemed to be in the sun all the time. Also the walls and tiles were badly marked and needed some overdue attention. One comment to make is that the room with sea view is at the top of the building, 3rd floor I think, and that is a lot of steps if you are not fit. We were very happy staying here and would recommend it without hesitation.

Very nice old hotel in a great location. We had a living area and 2 bedrooms, one that was a single and perfect for the luggage. Room was clean and comfortable and my husband enjoyed sitting in the common area. Hosts were very kind and made sure you were happy at breakfast. Would have been nice to have tea/coffee making ability in room but overall a great place to stay.

Right in the centre of Ortigia.

Very friendly B&B unfoirtunatelt let down by a plumbing problem when I arrived. However, they immediately took my luggage to anotherr property they owned only a few minutes walk away and then moved it back for me next day.
Very spacious room with separate seating area and double aspect windows. Quite noisy from the street in the evenings but this all ceased late evening so no sleeping problems. Very pleasant breakfast room and the breakfast itself decent.

Spacious comfortable accommodation

This is the sixth stay in our Sicily trip and one of the best. Located in the heart of Ortygia and within walking distance of most attractions. Staff were most welcoming and helpful with tourist information and directions. Our room was more like an apartment with spacious lounge area, separate kitchenette and even a private outdoor setting on the Ground Floor. Parking posed some challenges and we were forced to park in the car park for 10 Euros per day as the free street parking was all taken. Breakfast was enjoyable and nice to have freshly-squeezed orange juice. The atmosphere in this partofSyracuse was vibrant and the best we have experienced throughout Sicily. The short bus ride to Parco Archaeologico was easy and well worth it. We also enjoyed a boat trip around the island and to the sea caves.

Beautiful & Good Location

Highly recommended! A little difficult to find at first so we took a taxi. Room was a little cold at night (Easter) but clean, comfortable, spacious for family with two children, and good breakfast. Very close to the sea (2min walk) and all the tourist sites are accessible on foot - Syracuse station is about 20min walk. Many restaurants nearby. We had an absolutely wonderful time despite the rain!

New B&B close to Airport!

This B&B hotel offered everything needed for my one night stay. The hotel is new, the rooms are very clean and have the expected amenities. The hotel is up two floors but the owners took care of my luggage on arrival and departure.The room was quiet and room size was excellent. Although breakfast was included it was very simple, a croissant, coffee and juice. The owner made recommendations for dinner and organised my transfer back to the airport. Would definitely stay here again.

Excellent 2-night stay in a beautiful B&B, deep in historic surroundings on Ortigia Island in Siracusa. Not far from Rail station bur negotiate price before getting in cab as we were charged 20 Euros which is way too much. Plenty to explore and see in safe surroundings with plenty of good bars and restaurants. Follow the advice of the owner on this one.

Honeymoon retreat in the heart of Ortigia

My wife and I had an amazing stay at B&B La Via della Guidecca, which was the second stop on our honeymoon. The location is perfectly situated in Ortigia, within a short walking distance of all the attractions on the island, and within a few minutes from two incredible rocky beaches. The B&B staff were all super helpful with recommendations for sights/restaurants/excursions and they even helped us research the train/hydrofoil travel to our next destination in Sicily. They also emailed us beforehand to let us know the best way to get to the hotel from Siracusa. The breakfast was delicious, with a wide range of meats, cheeses, fruits, breads, cereal, pastries, and tea/coffee/juices - we always left full and ready for a day of exploring. They even invited us early for breakfast the day we were leaving, so we could catch our morning train. TOP TIP - if it's your honeymoon, tell them! We were upgraded from a double-room to a beautiful suite on the top floor, which was spacious, well decorated, comfortable, and clean. And the views of Ortigia from the large balcony were breathtaking. The air conditioning was also good, which was nice when we returned from a full day of walking around in Sicilian-summer heat. This B&B is HIGHLY recommended.

Perfect in every way

Absolutely great hotel in a perfect location in Ortigia. Very friendly and helpful staff, stunning room ( we were upgraded to executive suite, what a treat!), excellent breakfast. The place itself is a lovely old house restored with care and taste. Highly recommended! Mind that if you drive the easiest way to get to the hotel is to drop a car by waterfront on white lines and just walk, driving inside Ortigia's one way maze is rather challenging.

Disappointing B&B

Very disorganized stay. Nearly impossible to find someone available. No hot water and no adjustment to bill. Mediocre breakfast. The rooms are in serious need of redecoration and new covers, bedspreads and linens. The only thing going for it was the view. Returning at night up their stairs from dinner was treacherous and without lights. I ignored most of it after nothing was done after a full day without water. The wifi didn't work AT ALL. Thank heavens the place was cheap but similar priced to others even inside the main drag. Still, you get what you paid for.

Great charm!

This place was absolutely a dream. So charming with such character. Very large and spacious with a sitting room, small kitchen (extra to cook), 2 bedrooms- 1 with 2 twins the other with a king. Small downside was 1 heating/cooling unit that faced into the kitchen away from the bedroom but we were comfortable enough there in March (it was cold so we were using the heat). would stay here again in a heat beat. Breakfast was adequate with cheese, yogurt, pastries, hard boiled eggs, and a few other items.

Very Nice Stay in Old City of Syracuse

Generally very good experience here. Rooms were clean and nice and staff helpful with everything. The hotel is centrally located. The breakfast, although not large, was quite good. The only difficulty was location if you are driving since it is in the center of the old city and no place to park there (so getting bags in and out of hotel was a little tricky -- and would have been really no fun if raining). Also, parking in general, even if you can find a space, is about 10 minutes walk.

Perfect B&B on Ortigia Island

What's not to like? We had a \"mini suite\" - plenty of room to move around. On arrival, we pulled right up to the B&B and then the receptionist jumped in the car to help us find appropriate parking! Breakfast was excellent, with many interesting selections. Wifi worked. Good advice offered also re restaurants in the area. The only downside is steep stairs to climb, but if stairs are not an issue for you, the B&B La Via della Giudecca is a great choice!

Great location, great breakfasts!

A wonderful b&b in a great location in historic Ortygia. We loved the very central location with several restaurants, local shops and all the sights nearby and all within walking distance. The host is very accommodating and the staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are excellent, with lots of choice and very good local produce. The whole b&b is spotlessly clean with lots of attention to detail. Highly recommended.

Great rooms, location, and service. Wonderful abundant breakfast. Drop off luggage and then go find free parking on the Belvedere, anywhere within white lines. Left the car overnight with no problem. Good shopping as you walk toward bridge to archaeology sites, which are not to be missed!! We walked there and back but you probably can take a cab. Staff gave us great recommendation for trattoria. Visit baroque square and cathedral at dusk. Lovely.

Well-located to wander the most atmospheric streets of Ortigia and just a few minutes from the main piazzas for sightseeing. The rooms are lovely, staff are very friendly, there is free wifi (a bit patchy in our room, but there are two computers in the reception area) and the breakfast buffet was superb (especially loved the cheese tartlets).

All the positive comments that others have made are true. This was one of the best hotels - it is a hotel rather than a B&B - that we have ever stayed in. The location was superb: central, of historic interest, with a lot of life in the evening. The hotel fully deserves its high rating

If we were to return to Ortigia we would be very disappointed if we could not get a room here.

Modern, Lovely, and Friendly!

Though in an older building, the guest rooms and public space have recently been updated and are beautiful. Our room (#10) was a beautiful, very modern suite, with a comfy bed. It had a nice, new kitchenette, but few pots and pans or cooking goods (olive oil, salt, etc.) to work with, so we really didn't use it. The staff is SUPER nice and eager to provide anything you need. The owner, Giuseppe, is gallant and solicitous; Roberta speaks English well and can advise you about attractions, restaurants, etc. Our room had a washing machine, and she was kind enough to offer the hotel's dryer -- a Godsend! \"Johnny\" makes sure you have everything you need for breakfast -- the breakfast buffet is lavish, with cold cuts (prociutto, salami, etc.) cheese, cereals, fresh fruit, yogurt, and wonderful pastries. Fresh coffee drinks & juice made from freshly squeezed oranges is delivered from a nearby bar. There's WIFI service in each guest room, and a nice, fast connection in the lobby, where there are two large-screen terminals which can be used, free, by guests. All in all, a great find!

We stayed at La Via Della Giudecca for 2 nights. The location was wonderful, right in the middle of Ortygia in Syracusa. We were on the top floor with a kitchen and a balcony. We were sorry that we could not stay longer.
We would definitely stay there again.

A stunning Ortigia hotel worthy of 5* rating

Unfortunately, when we stayed in this hotel we only had one night. If I had known it would have been so beautiful I would have stayed longer. In a lovely part of Ortigia, and away from the really touristy sites, it's hidden (and hard to find) on a tiny square, where the locals sit outside local pizzarias and chat late into the night. The area is stunning and the hotel is just gorgeous. Amazing staff and fantastic breakfast. Really amazing, a shame to miss it if you go to Ortigia.

More than just a B&B

This small hotel is more than just a B&B.
It is in a beautifully restored building in the old Jewish quarter of Ortygia within walking distance of all the main sites in this beautiful city. Outside is a small square in front of a church (our room looked directly onto this) and a a lively neighbourhood cafe which supplies the food and drinks for breakfast which is taken in the hotel.
All the rooms and public areas of the hotel are immaculately decorated and well cared for.
I thought we had booked just a double bedroom but we got something more like a suite with a large sitting room, a huge fridge and a lovely bathroom.
There are two computers with free internet access for resident's use and free wi-fi for your own lap-top.
All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
The only down-side for some people will be the car access and parking. The hotel is in a restricted access pedestrian zone - so you have to wind your way thro' the old city, drop off your bags and drive on to the big public car park on the edge of city near the market. But don't let this put you off. The car park looks intimidating but isn't really - you park on the ground floor - and it is incredibly cheap - free all day and 1 euro overnight.

the hotel is a restored building retains all its charm. in the apartment where we steyed I think it was Nº 23 , the apartment had a balcony where you could see the sea and the narrow streets of Ortigia.

breakfast was great and the people were wonderful.
I recommend it to everyone, sure you will not regret it.

Brilliant, friendly place.
Extremely well priced hotel in the heart of Ortigia. The price inc. breakfast and unrivalled accommodation. Our room was more like an appartement. It had a kitchen, lounge, shower/toilet room, double bedroom, lower terrace and upper terrace with views of the sea, Etna and the Cathedral. It was the perfect place to relax.
Cannot recommend this place enough.
The location is perfect for seeing the island, and is a stones throw from all the amenities, the beach, the attractions, the lot!
The staff were extremely helpful and could not have made our stay better.

We have just returned from 6 days in Ortigia and we have only positive comments about La Via Della Giudecca. Everything was perfect. Our room was very comfortable and beautifully furnished. The environment is very modern and fresh. The service is excellent and all the staff were very helpful, friendly and welcoming. The location is ideal since it is in the centre of Ortigia and close amenities. The breakfast was excellent and we were offered a good choice of products. This B&B is simply welcoming...

Spacious Rooms in Excellent Location

The B&B Porta Marina Ortigia has an excellent location, next to a lovely church in the Historical part of Siracusa (Ortigia), and close to both restaurants, cafes, shopping and the sea.
We ordered the Double room - Executive, as I was traveling with my mother, and we needed a twin room. Usually that means two single beds, but here there was one big double bed in a large bedroom, and one double sofa-bed, made up in another large room, that also had a TV and a desk. As we had a stay of 9 days, and it was nice to have an option for a bit of privacy between my Mother and I (and the sofa-bed was of pretty good quality), this worked well for us, and we are happy about our stay.
The Proprietors also helped us to get a shuttle from the airport and back, at a more advantageous price than we would have got just ordering a taxi ourselves, because the taxi agency has an agreement with the B&B. Gianni & Stefania were also super-helpful with regards to timetables and locations for things to see and do, and were generally lovely to us. There was no option for breakfast when we stayed (think this started during Covid), but as every amenity was on our doorstep, this wasn’t a problem for us. The only minus about this place (in our opinion), was that we had to carry our suitcases up two steep and long staircases when we arrived in the semi-late evening, because the taxi driver wasn’t allowed to stop long enough in the street to help carry them up for us. All in all we recommend this B&B :-)

grazioso b&b in centro storico di Ortigia a pochi passi dalla passeggiata sul mare. Edificio storico ben ristrutturato e curato. Le camere ampie e pulite. L'unico nota negativa è la rumorosità delle stanze. Io ero direttamente sulla piazzetta sottostante e prima delle 6.30 del mattino iniziavano i rumori degli operai, dei mezzi di carico e scarico.

Maravilloso, acogedor y decorado con buen gusto. Es como estar en casa. El desayuno es abundante e incluye zumo de naranja natural,bolleria, embutidos, quesos, yogur, cereales, etc.
Desde la estacion de tren al hotel, se llega andando (25 min), en taxi (10 min 15€) o en bus (1€). La ubicacion es muy buena, puedes ir andando a todas partes.

Habitaciones bonitas, comodas y con baños modernos. No hay ascensor y hay que pagar en efectivo.

Muy recomendable. El mejor hotel de nuestra estancia en Sicilia.

stilvoll neu renovierter palazzo mit ausgesprochen grosszügigen zimmern. wir hatten ein grosses wohnzimmer mit sofa, tv und esstisch und auf der galerie das bett und badezimmer. alles mit viel geschmack eingerichtet. die gleiche familie betreibt auch ein restaurant, das „basiricò“, wo wir sehr gut gegessen haben.

Hotel bien placé et bâtiment de charme

Personnel servant le petit dejeuner très agreable. Très à l'écoute de la clientèle.
Un petit effort devrait être fait pour l'entretien de la douche qui avait des traces de moisi sur le carrelage mural ce n'est pas très agreable.
A part cela tout était parfait. Hotel très bien placé avec beaucoup de charme.

B&B, mit Klasse

Der Empfang war sehr freundlich, check-in unkompliziert. Wir bekamen gleich einen Stadtplan und eine Wegbeschreibung zum Parken des Wagens. Das Zimmer war gemütlich, gut ausgestattet, sehr sauber. Das Frühstück ist reichhaltig und lecker, mit guter Auswahl. Das Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir haben uns wohlgefühlt und hatten einen sehr angenehmen Aufenthalt. Die Lage ist zentral, Restaurants, Bars, Sehenswürdigkeiten, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, Uferpromenade, alles bequem fußläufig zu erreichen. Bushaltestelle in der Nähe.
