Excellent choice for short stay in Konstanz. Quiet pedestrian area on edge of old town 10 mins from station. Rooms not spacious but well equipped with draw and hanging space. Inclusion of breakfast a bonus but plenty of excellent bakeries/cafes around. Well pleased with our choice.

Breakfast had plentiful choices. Free local bus/train pass was great. It covered a large area. Staff very helpful. Glass bathroom door was fine for me, being a solo traveller. Around 5-7mins walk from main station and the old town. I would happily stay here again.

OK for a brief stay

Modern hotel reliant on digital technology (the numbers on the glass panel in the lift are almost invisible - who knew?) but with little character. Good breakfast and excellent, quiet location. Single bed was a small double actually. Trendy shower room.

Good location, with challenging parking, although the hotel has 4-5 spots for $18 a day.
The breakfast was great and plentiful. Very nice staff!
The room itself was very odd. The bathroom was a very odd layout. Very little privacy as it had a glass enclosure.
Overall though the hotel was a good value.

Excellently situated friendly hotel

Excellent location next to the Old Town, and close to Sea Works and the Barbour. The room pass gives free bus travel, so we did not use our car. Parking is very restricted, but works. Breakfast is full English with eggs, bacon and sausages, and an imaginative buffet. No air conditioning, and on a somewhat noisy pedestrian area street, so cooling the room to sleep well and quietly was not easy. The staff are excellent and helped us find restaurants and understand the trips possible. Great hotel overall, would stay here again.

Nice hotel, fun features

Hotel is very nice and in a great area. Everything was clean and tidy and the friendly staff spoke perfect English (as well as German and presumably French).

The only knock was the room itself. The bed was somewhere between a full and a queen and the room was quite small. Doesn't make a difference to me, but for the price I figured on something a little bigger. the bathroom, however, was one of a kind. Glass wall with a sliding glass door. No handle, just a HOLE IN THE DOOR! Again, did not detract from the experience at all, but privacy (with my partner in the room) was less than I was ready for. We had our share of laughs about it.

Overall, loved our stay. Konstanz is a cute quiet town and I definer recommend this hotel.

2 Rooms 1 Week - hotel is better for a short stay

Very well located for the centre of Konstanz. Close to bus stop and train at Kreuzlinger or Konstanz. Well decorated and modern. Staff are friendly. Breakfast very tasty. We stayed in August and the rooms were very hot with no air conditioning, and no fans available. The maids were excellent. But you cannot get a meal in the hotel in the evening or even a coffee is awkward as the machine is switched off early. Lots of guests smoke so smoke can drift into your room from someone on their balcony. Not all rooms have a balcony we stayed one week but we had no balcony. It is a good hotel but better for a weekend stay than a full week.

Two Days in Constanz

First and foremost this room was clean and the breakfast provided was great. During a cooler time of year I would consider staying at this property again. However, during warm weather you should know there is no AC available and the residential neighborhood is rather noisy. That makes for a rough night of sleep when you must keep the windows wide open. Additionally, parking is packed like a sardine can but convenient once you get your car parked and intend to not drive again before leaving. This location is minutes from the Swiss border and a fairly convenient walk to the water front and old town.

Looks are deceiving

An interesting place to stay; we were very much looking forward to staying here based on the online photos.

The staff are completed disinterested - don't expect them to pay any attention. You can wait at reception, but if the staff are on the phone, your presence won't even be acknowledged. Food will completely run out at breakfast (regardless of what time you attend), and the only way you can get it replenished is if you ask the staff, who will look at you with disdain and only replace the one item you mention. No effort to actually see what else needs replacing. The rooms are tiny, particularly the bathrooms, and the walls paper thin, ensuring you hear EVERY SOUND made by your neighbours. This made for some interesting nocturnal sounds. The beds are also very uncomfortable.

The positives? Close to the lake and for walks through the town. Some great restaurants nearby. The housekeeping staff also keep the rooms immaculate.

Good location, great breakfast, great service. Room was okay: 1. Elevator stopped one floor before ours, had to use stairs rest of way. 2. Bedside light was broken, walls were scratched up, layout was awkward, odd nooks and crannies—felt like an incomplete refurbishment job. 3. Frosted glass setup for bathroom was less than desirable, not enough privacy. 4. Bed was comfy and clean.

Quaint charming hotel with awesome service and support from staff. Closed to shopping in Konstanz and grocery store. Only 37 rooms in hotels so staff have personal touch. Highly recommended. Only limitation is their satellite service does not have english TV so bring your own.

As a foreigner, the city, Konstanz is quite nice place to take some rest and travel around Bodensee. Overall the hotel was not bad. Breakfast was good but there is no toaster so I cannot eat warm bread. Moreover, I saw a rat across in the restaurant in the check-out day. In terms of service, it was also not bad. But not good enough. The female staff had never smiled to us. But I noticed she can smile to any other local or western people. I hope it is not because we are Asian. Lastly the room was okay but the shower booth was terrible. Whenever I take shower, it causes water leak to bath room, which does not have any drainage.

Loved it!!

The Hotel Constantia is a fabulous boutique hotel, within steps of the historical part of the city, charming bars, restaurants and shops. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. Parking is conveniently at the back door, in a small private, gravel lot. The elevator is typically small, as in most European boutique hotels. Our room was charming, with a small balcony we wished we'd had time to enjoy. We loved the room and the washroom, both albeit small, as is also the norm in Europe. The frosted glass partition wall between the shower and bedroom might be a concern for more prudish travellers who are not a couple, but we found it to be very stylish and attractive, without being immodest; nonetheless it's worth considering if travelling with a child or a friend. The main floor lounge with bar is also very stylish, comfortable and welcoming. We'd go back to the hotel and to Constance n a heartbeat. Loved it!

Great location - very handy for restaurants and Lake Konstanz.

With temperatures of nearly 30C, air conditioning or a fan would have made this a perfect stay.

Great room, and location. The rooms and the hotel were really nicely decorated and appointed. Very classy and European chic. Location is great for shopping and there was reasonable parking in the back of the hotel (E 15/day)> Lobby was nice to catch a night cap and the ladies at the desk were great. Breakfast food was excellent too. A little more choices than the standard German breakfast.

Schöne Lage, gutes Frühstück

Das Hotel liegt wirklich top – zentral und gut erreichbar. Die Zimmer sind schön groß und das Bett war sehr bequem. Leider waren die Kissen für meinen Geschmack ziemlich unbequem, was den Schlafkomfort etwas gemindert hat.
Das Frühstück war dagegen richtig gut – es gab eine große Auswahl und für jeden etwas dabei. Auch das Personal war durchweg freundlich und sehr zuvorkommend.
Was allerdings negativ auffiel: Der Parkplatz ist nicht im Preis inbegriffen und mit 20 Euro pro Nacht ziemlich teuer – das trübt den Gesamteindruck leider ein wenig.

verblijf was zeer goed, met vriendelijk personeel en zeer goed ontbijt.
Minpunten: de tv werlte niet door een defecte coax kabel die blijkbaar gekend was bij het personeel maar niet vervangen werd
De kamer kwam niet overeen met de beschrijving gezien het 2-persoonsbed tegen een muur stond waarbij het moeilijker was om voor één persoon in en uit het bed te stappen

Bei unserer Ankunft wurden wir sehr freundlich empfangen. Das Personal war im allgemeinen sehr höflich und zuvorkommend. Die Zimmer sind modern eingerichtet, jedoch die Glasewand zum Bad ist Geschmackssache. Top Frühstück mit viel Auswahl. Einziges Manko ist die Parksituation. 15 Euro pro Tag im Hinterhof sind schon ziemlich heftig.

Det har været et perfekt ophold på 6 nætter. Vi kan ikke sætte en finger på noget. Personalet meget smilende og venligt. Daglig rengøring hurtig og perfekt ordnet mens vi spiste morgenmad. Morgenmaden var med alt, hvad vi kunne forvente. Alt i alt et et utroligt dejligt ophold.

Leider war das Zimmer nicht - wie gewünscht - nach hinten raus gelegen und es hatte auch nicht 2 Einzelbetten. Darüber hinaus war es sehr klein. Nach dem Umbau durch das bemühte Personal waren die Boxspringbetten dann ohne Topper im Komfort gemindert.

Hotel befindet sich in perfekter Lage im Zentrum. Allerdings war es extrem laut und man konnte im Einzelzimmer absolut nicht schlafen. Jede Klospülung, jedes Türschließen - jedes Geräusch - Der anderen Gäste war hörbar und führte zu einer schlaflosen Nacht. Leider gab es auch keine Ohrstöpsel an der Rezeption. Ich würde das Hotel für Alleinreisende nicht empfehlen, da sich die Einzelzimmer in der unteren Etage befinden. Wie es mit den mehrbettzimmern ist, weiß ich nicht.

Zimmer und Frühstück gut. Parkplatzsituation nicht gut. Hatten das Hotel ausgesucht da angegeben mit Parkplatz. Anzahl so gering, dass ein Parkhaus genutzt werden musste. Zusatzkosten 24€. Dies war ärgerlich.

Ein schönes Hotel, Modernes Design,leckeres Früstück.Schöne Zimmer. Die Altstadt ist gut zu Fuss erreichbar,eine Bushaltestelle 5Min: entfernt..Sehr zu empfehlen,habe mich wohlgefühlt.
