The hotel’s location is very central for the shopping area and the lake, however it didn’t feel part of a noisy location.
The room was comfortable, we were a family of four using the sofa bed. The beds were comfortable, but the room did get pretty warm and the fan provided didn’t make much difference.
We parked in the nearby underground car park which was 5 minutes walk away.
The breakfast was fine. A choice of cereals, bread and meats/cheeses. The dining area felt a pleasant space.

I had to leave at 5.30 am in the morning, and therefore I would have missed out on breakfast. Without me having any expectations I was brought a packed lunch to my room the night before my leave.I really appreciated this kindness very much. Also, O received a’Bodensee West ‘ travel card that entitled me to free bus and train travel within the allocated area within the time if my stay at the hotel. It was a great offer! I want to thank the hotel for their excellent service!

Located in a safe area and very convenient to train station. Staff was very courteous and went far beyond. I had a very early train to the Zurich airport and would miss breakfast and staff offered to pack food for both breakfast and lunch. Even put it in my frig when I was out. Would definitely recommend.

Great location. Only thing that can improve is to add a fan on hot days. We spent two days in 34 degree weather and there was literally no way to cool the place. Also, the pictures with the balcony are deceiving. There was no balcony in our room.

This is a Hotel has a great location right downtown next to shopping and dining but there’s nowhere to pull up to take out your bags and there is no where to park to go to public parking a few blocks away. The hotel staff were unusually rude and awful. The hotel boost to have a blackout curtain, but it was a half a curtain in the middle of a window where the light shines through all night long. The beds were horrible. They were foam mattresses it sunk right down to the bottom when you laid in them, horribly uncomfortable was a very difficult night for all of us. We had paid for a two night stay and had to leave the very next morning. The breakfast there was not very good. Coffee came from a machine where they poured powder into it. The eggs were probably powdered as well. They had some cheeses some choices, but none of it was what we were used to specially for the price we paid for the room Won’t be going back there for any reason.

We booked only 1 night in a family room. It's rather small once the sleeper couch is extended but was absolutely fine for us for the night. The hotel is very well located in the old town and shopping. It doesn't have a restaurant but that's not an issue as there as many options close by. They offered a nice breakfast but the service was slow but I believe this is due to them not offering a buffet due to the Covid-19 situation, so everything was brought out by staff. Our room was right on the road but didn't hear anything at night. overall it was suited us fine.

It was ok. We stayed on the 4th floor and it was extremely hot. There is a window but no air circulation. It was very hard to sleep. The mini refrigerator blew hot air but didn't keep anything cold.

Very convenient location ,close to lake,train station,supermarket and numerous restaurants .Excellent breakfast with limited hot food ,bacon ,sausages scrambled and boiled eggs but plenty of cold meats ,cheese,bread and pastries etc.Very pleasant staff all with excellent english and all super helpful .No aircon so can get a bit warm in some rooms but overall, good value for money ..We will return .

We stopped for two nights at the end of June and the hotel itself was nice and in a great location. Our only complaint is that the room was extremely hot! The rest of the hotel was air-conditioned so I guess it was a special circumstance (the room next door was under repair). All in all, if the room temperature had been lower, we would have had nothing bad to say about this place.

Two adults and our teenage kids stayed for one night while sightseeing the area. Very small bathroom, but clean and functional. Room was decent size, it held four single beds a small desk/chair combo and a wall unit and there was room for nothing else. Pretty much as soon as the door opened, you see the beds and we were basically sleeping head to toe with that setup. The good is that the room was clean and other than being very small, there were no issues. Breakfast was typical German lunchmeats and cheeses with bread, but quality was good. Location is perfect for shopping and exploring the town and the ladies working there were very friendly and professional. Would likely not stay there again for the price vs. size value.

Very nice stay. Central to walk everywhere in Konstanz & very close to station and across road from the Lago shopping mall. Only disappointment was Breakfast only served from 7am in the morning which is not suitable for my business travelers needing to catch the 7:03 express train to Frauenfeld.

Arrived around nine at night. Entrance to hotel locked. Automated entry with reservation number. I only had my confirmation number and no phone service. Another guest returning to hotel made a phone call to contact number on sign. A little frustrating

I had a little difficulty checking in because no one was at the front desk. But once I saw the manager, the hotel tried to assign me the best room available and gave me a lot of choice showing me around. The hotel is part of the beauty of Konstanz, part of the fairy tale. You will like the room, service, breakfast and the wonderful staff. When you check in, you can go in without a card during the day. Just go to the 2nd floor to the dining area and you can see the manager. Maybe the hotel can have a phone on the front desk for the guests to check in?

There is no one at the reception after 8 pm. Which is rather uncomfortable as the booking code from hotels.com wasn't accepted at the automated check-in machine at the entrance. The room was nice and big - especially compared to my colleagues who booked the same room type. They have a really nice breakfast room. Breakfast itself was also good.

A puzzle to solve
Hotel is close to the train station, but only has a doorway on the ground floor. There was a screen to punch in your reservation number, but the one I had didn't work. Someone let us in the door. There was a desk with no one there and a sign that said the desk was on the 2nd floor. Went to the 2nd floor and the desk was not by the elevator. Found it after searching. The floors are not level so you have to drag your luggage up and down steps .

A shambles!
I arrived on Sunday night about 8pm. It's a self check in hotel, so stood out in the rain trying to put in my Hotels.com reservation number. After several attempts it didn't work. There's no one at the hotel as I found out, so phoned the number on the glass. I spoke to a very nice lady who informed me that my number was completely wrong and gave me the right one. I then proceeded to check in which was long winded and insisted that my home country was Germany! I eventually got in and got to my room, which to say the least was minimalistic! One small window high up and a very bare room. I then tried to connect to WiFi and it said I needed a password from reception. I phoned reception, no one there! So I phoned the number from earlier, to be told that no one would come to give me a WiFi code , so wait until tomorrow!!
I must say that breakfast the next say was good - one of the few good things!
I eventually got my WiFi code, but seemed to take them 15 minutes to get it!
The funny thing is, I was coming back to the hotel one evening and found another guest having the same experience as me - self check in, is not the way forward!

We stayed in Hotel Augustiner Tor for two nights and it was enjoyable stay. Newly remodeled and very clean hotel, friendly staff, good breakfast, good location. The only small inconvenience was the room faced a street which was somewhat noisy in the morning (with an open window).

Wir waren zum dritten Mal hier. Der Preis war höher und der Zustand des Hotels schlechter. Kleine Dinge wie zerbrochene Spiegel der geklebt wurde. Ein Riss im Bild der ebenfalls mit Klebeband geflickt. Die Farbe an den Wänden teils abgeblättert etc. Unser Aufenthalt war immer noch völlig in Ordnung. Es fällt einfach auf.

Schönes Hotel direkt in der Altstadt 300m vom Bahnhof entfernt. Zimmer waren sauber das Frühstück war gut. Die Mitarbeiter alle samt freundlich und hilfsbereit. Ich würde das Zimmer jederzeit wieder buchen.

Das Zimmer war um 14.40 Uhr noch nicht fertig geputzt. Sie hat uns hochgeschick und wollte, dass wir 1 Stunde warten. Wir waren sehr müde von der Anreise, daher wollten wir gerne gleich ein Zimmer. Nach einigem tippen in den PC, hat sie uns einen anderen Schlüssel gegeben.

Für einen kurzen Aufenthalt perfekt. Man sollte aber beachten, dass man mit VW Bus nicht in die nahegelegenen Parkhäuser hineinkommt. Auch zum Gepäckausladen sind leider keine Parkplätze vorhanden.
