Hotel Antico Moro was average at best. The woman at check-in was a bit rude and unwelcoming, though the gentleman later on was more polite and helpful. The room was basic and fine for a night’s rest, but not somewhere you’d want to stay longer. Decent if you just need a quick stop to sleep, nothing more.

This is a very nice hotel. Clean, neat and the management is excellent. This is ones best option to visit Venice by driving there and parking right over the bridge in Venice right before Piazzale di Roma for 12hrs paying only Euro 12-15. The breakfast was very good too.

The property is ok. Matress was thing and hard. No conditioner, no coffe in the room. No elevators, youbahve to carry your lugagge upstairs.
I did notnlike that the iwner is arrogant. He made me feel like he was making me a favor.
He rises his voice to the receptionist, maybe his wife.
She was super helpfull, nice, polite.

This little gem represents the kind of experience that keeps us coming back to Italy. The staff was extremely helpful and responsive, in particular when we arrived at 4am after a much-delayed flight from Croatia. They allowed us a late check out, ordered us a taxi, and made us a wonderful cappuccino even though breakfast had long-passed. Definitely recommend a stay near Venezia.

staff is very experienced with getting tourists to Venice. Parking is secure behind the hotel. We left our car and took the reasonably-priced bus and tram to do our sight-seeing. The transfer to and from the tram was convenient and we never waited long. The room was quiet and clean. The breakfast is generous and varied; a good value.

Great hotel near bus and home base for Venice

Hotel owners were awesome! Tell you exactly how to get to Venice and even give you a printed clear instruction sheet and can sell bus tickets there too. Clean hotel and reasonable price. Free parking and good wifi. Everything was perfect, thanks!

A gem of a hotel

This was our third stay at the Antico Moro and was just as good as the first. We like the friendly and quiet atmosphere but with the convenience of being able to easily get into Venice by bus from just outside the front door. There is a lovely restaurant next door too! We hope to visit again next year.

This is a small hotel in a suburb of Mestre, handy for driving into Venice or catching the frequent bus services that pass the hotel. There is adequate safe parking within the hotel grounds. We had two rooms both at the rear of the property, one with a balcony (room 4) and room 6, both were comfortable and quiet. If you decide to book specify a rear room as the road at the front is quite busy. Breakfast was adequate and the attached restaurant serves a variety of dishes and should cater for most tastes. There are plenty of local shops and bars. Overall a great stay at a reasonable cost.

We have a great stay at this hotel. The room was very spacious for the 4 of us. My kids which are 17 & 14 loved the bunk beds. The bathroom was very clean and quite large. We cannot say enough good things about the food from the restaurant next door. The food was excellent, we had dinner there both nights. Both the staff from the hotel and the restaurant were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast at the hotel was definately worth the 7 euros. It was very easy to take the bus into Venice where we spent the entire day. I would highly recommend this hotel.

The room was very nice. There was a tiny refrigerator where you can store a couple of cold drinks. The breakfast costs 7 euros each, with plenty choices - a better choice than buying food in the streets of Venice.
It takes about 30 to 40 minutes to the city by bus. One-day all inclusive transportation pass costs 20 euros.
The owners were super friendly: when we entered the lobby, the mister exclaimed: \"Ah, you must be Mr. ....!\"

All in all, very good experience

I liked the decor of this hotel very much. That made the stay in the hotel very memorable. The staff were helpful as well. The breakfast was decent.

It was right next to bustop, so getting to Venice in about 30 min was not a issue. It involves though a break at either Mestre Centro where you hop on to tram or Mestre Station where you hop in to a train. Returning from Venice to the hotel, I had to keep in mind that I had to be at Mestre Centro for the last bus by 11.15 pm. That means if you are watching a evening concert in Venice that would have to end by 10.30 pm giving you enough time to get to Piazzale Roma by walk and then take a tram to Mestre Centro and reach before 11.15 pm.

All in all very good experience keeping in mind though that I was not staying on the island but on mainland.

Hotel with parking for easy access to Venice

We stayed at this hotel to visit Venice. The bus stopped immediately outside and took 30 minutes to the Piazza Roma. A two day bus and water bus pass was available at the hotel when we arrived (cost 30 euros) and well worth having. We went to the restaurant next door which was excellent. Breakfast at the hotel was very good.

A relaxing country inn near Venice

Hotel owners were very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. It was very hot while we were there but the air conditioning was quiet and effective. The breakfast was good but not great although again the service was prompt and friendly. The hotel is conveniently located to bus stops and the bus into Venice takes approx. 20-25 minutes. We also visited the restaurant next door and had very good pasta and pizza with a lovely bottle of wine which our waiter recommended; we were early and received prompt and friendly service but it it appeared that it can get very busy so if you are in a hury you should go early.

Comfortable hotel. Large room for the five of us - great bathroom. Breakfast was 5 Euros per person which we purchased from the hotel on check in. Would have like to have had the option to have breakfast included when we booked the hotel but it was not offered by hotels.com. Get the breakfast because there isn't much around the hotel to offer choices. You can get dinner at the place next door to the hotel, not bad food. Service is slow but the food is good. One odd thing - on check out the hotel has you pay the \"tourist tax\" in cash. I was very skeptical of this but had to pay the tax in cash. I checked with some others in the hotel and they had to pay in cash as well. No where else in Italy have we been asked to pay the taxes in cash. seems fishy to say the least. The bus to Venice stops about 20 yards from the hotel, and lets you off at the Pl. Roma.

Flight changes due to Hurricane Sandy meant we would arrive in Venice 2 days before our cruise instead of 1, so we needed an extra hotel. Hotels in Venice were EXTRA expensive that night, so we decided to try Mestre, since the airport is in that direction. There was a bus stop handy to the hotel, so we thought that would be a good option. We did not realize we had to change buses between the airport and the hotel, so that turned out to be rather arduous, especially with luggage. All in all the hotel was fine, breakfast good, with friendly service. There was a grocery and restaurants handy, and the transport to Venice was OK. - it just wasn't that convenient from the airport.

Very nice 3 star hotel run by friendly people who care
About their hotel.

We stayed in room 14 which is billed as family room for 5. Room was split into a main bedroom with double bed and separate single bed. A second double bed was in a separate room. Both areas had air on, which struggled a bit in the heat if August in Venice.

The local bus system works well, 25 mins from hotel to Piazzale Roma in island of Venice.Pretty convenient and well explained by the hotel. Breakfasts were good with lots of variety.

All in all a good place to stay.

Hotel antico Moro Mestre

So pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the hotel. The rooms are even better than they look in the photos. We were staying in a 3 person room number 2 and it was very spacious. The decor was lovely and fitting with expectations of Venice. The breakfast was cheap and plentiful and the bus stop is a mere 1 minute walk from the hotel. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return shall I be lucky enough to return to Venice.

Very nice place with huge rooms, lots of space and good staff. The included breakfast was huge and very good. This is outside of Venice. There is a dedicated Venice bus that takes you direct and on the way back there are 2 lines to pick from. 20 minutes each way. I would just leave from Venice and not Maestre.

Only problem might be for the less adventurous (without a car) using the local transportation. But note, the local transportation is very good and cheap. Hotel is about 15 mins from Venezia proper and away from the hustle and bustle. Would stay again upon return to Venice.

Avons séjourné 5 nuits dans cet hôtel durant la période du Carnaval de Venise. Petit hôtel sympathique en bordure de route, à proximité de plusieurs commerces (pharmacie, tabac, boulangerie, épicerie, bar...) et devant arrêts de bus. Très pratique pour se déplacer et aller à Venise !! Bon restaurant collé à l'hôtel. Personnel agréable.

Bom atendimento na chegada e foram gentis com as indicacoes da cidade, o café da manha é pobre (ha uma informacao de que se pode beber apenas 1 vez bebidas quentes como o café).
Ficamos sem banho num dos dias mais frios e que havia chovido por que a agua estava fria desde o perigo da manha até a noite.

ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo, selezionato dopo un lungo studio, sono rimasto molto soddisfatto. da segnalare oltre il bus x venezia che passa vicino all'hotel, anche l'opzione del treno dalla stazione di mestre ospedale (parcheggio gratuito, così come in hotel). colazione buona. ci tornerei senza dubbio.

Zeer warme kamer

We hadden een kamer voor 3 personen. De kamer was al warm bij aankomst en de airco was niet in staat om de temperatuur de eerste nacht naar een aangename temperatuur terug te brengen.
De receptie was wel heel behulpzaam.

Not so far from Venezia, reach by BUS and tram.

It is located little bit far from Venezia but easily reach there by BUS nearby and tram. You can buy bus ticket at the hotel and leave your car at hotel.
Reception people were so kind and helpful, they allowed parking my car at the hotel even after check out-quite convenient to travel Venezia!
Only to be improved is lots of mosquitoes, my children struggled.

Visita all'ospedale

Tutto molto bene , dove andare all'ospedale e visto la buona posizione ho deciso di soggiornare all'antico moro , ottima scelta per tutto dalla pulizia al confort , dalla posizione vicino Venezia e dal personale molto gentile . Se dovessi capitare di nuovo da queste parti di sicuro ritornerò qui.
