I booked this place for my wife and daughter who was in town for a soccer tournament. I was unable to join them, but my wife said it was \"scary\" when she checked in that night, but saw thought the place was fine in the light of day. She tends to spook easy, so I'm not sure what to make of it.

The room is clean and well kept. I stay here very often when I go to Kansas City. It’s always been good. Have a nice continental breakfast in the morning. The only thing this time was the TV didn’t work very well. It needed help, but I was only there for one night, so it really didn’t matter a lot.

After checking into room, we realized the sink did not drain. Front Office staff said no maintenance staff was on duty so we would have to move rooms. We didn’t want to move rooms so I asked for a plunger to work on the issue myself. I got the sink to drain. 😎
Both mornings, upon entering the breakfast area, the front office staff greeted us by saying that we were welcome to enjoy whatever was left because we were late. Both days we arrived at least 15 minutes before the breakfast ended at 9:30am. We were NOT late. We did enjoy breakfast both days and felt the options were good. The breakfast was good but the staff’s comments were unwelcoming. 😕
It seemed like a number of rooms were occupied by long term rentals-lots of small groups of people gathering outside their rooms somewhat blocking access to the walkway.

Staff is pleasant during check in and in the breakfast area. Ample parking, A/C works. Bed linens and towels were newer and clean. The overall conditions of the room was tired. It had been repainted but the quality was poor. Tub area had been painted but it was peeling in multiple places.

Hotel pictures were deceiving. Hotel appeared to be nicer in pictures than actually was. Old hotel with permanent low income residents. Had to walk thru clouds of cigarette and marijuana smoke to room. Bed was horrible, had to sleep on edge of mattress to avoid rolling into center. No shower curtain.

I like staying here as it’s a simple but nice hotel. The staff is awesome! I had left a painting behind and they saved it for me. There a few maintenance issues - but they are updating as they can. It’s easy to get to, I feel safe at the location and I like just being able to walk up to the door.

It was a cheap motel - pretty noisy any time people were outside/walked by, it wasn’t quite clean, all the lights were horrible fluorescent lighting, and the outer layer of the bathtub was peeling off. All of that would be expected for a cheap motel, but then the pricing should reflect that.

When we showed up to the hotel they hadn't even have my room ready. I reserved it online through hotels.com two weeks in advance and that happened. It's the first time ever it has happened to us... I was disappointed since I booked a two queens beds since it was for two adults and a child so we can be comfortable and they gave us a full size bed and a couch which the couch wasn't comfortable especially the price I paid for... and not only that we stayed for two nights. We won't stay there again.

I made this reservation through trivago, and what a mistake that was. When I got to the hotel at 7 o’clock that evening, there was no reservation. I looked at my email and two hours before I had received a reservation announcement that there were no rooms available. Haven’t been driving all day, I had not checked my email to know the room had been canceled. When I made the reservation that morning, I received a confirmation. Every hotel in the area was sold out. The gal at the front desk kept looking and looking until she remembered that someone had canceled but not been put in the system yet. I don’t know what we would have done. The front desk person was so accommodating. She did everything she could to help us. Thank you for such a great experience.

We stayed for a night out of the 3 we booked, since we had an emergency. They promised they'd honor our cancelation since Expedia approved it, but they never provided approval from their side.

The night we did stay there the room was dirty, we found dead cockroaches and it smelled weird.

My stay was not enjoyable.

I found several issues during my stay. First, there was a black spot left in the bathtub. I also got bitten by a mosquito on my foot. The lighting was so dim that I struggled to wash my face and apply my makeup. Additionally, the desk chair was dusty.

When I left my room at 3 AM to retrieve some aspirin from my car, I encountered problems with my key card. The front door wouldn't open, so I went to the front desk for assistance, but they were unable to fix the card. After an hour of waiting, an employee had to manually open the door for me.

Overall, the hotel needs to improve in several areas: updating the door system, providing better lighting, and ensuring thorough cleaning.

My stay was ok. The room was for the most part pretty clean but first impressions make a big difference. The light switch when you first walk through the door was filthy. Cousin on couch had stains so I didn’t sit on it. There was not any lamps on the nightstands so you couldn’t just settle in after reading or tv you had to get out of bed to shut the light off which was across the room. There are light scones on either side of bed but neither worked. One didn’t even have a light bulb. The mirror above the sink was very nice and large, the mirror was clean but the frame was NOT. It had toothpaste from previous customers and not sure what the rest of the stuff on it was. Once again light switch to that area and bathroom need cleaned.

I did try to speak with someone before I left but I couldn’t get anyone to wait on me. A sign said someone would be with me but that didn’t happen. An employee was speaking with another patron and looked at me when I came in the door but when she was finished speaking she disappeared behind a door to kitchen area without acknowledging me. Or, I would have told her these issues and not be writing them. The clerk that checked me in was very friendly and professional.
All things being said the room was very spacious, cleaner than some I have paid more for, towels were clean, thick and folded in a very clever way! The bed was clean and so very comfortable. I had a king with 4 very nice pillows. I will be staying here again.

Keep scrolling and don’t pick this one. Didn’t know the door was on outside. You could move the door without unlocking. Chain for lock but luckily did have dead bolt. Gap between door and wall so thinking its cold when staying in winter time. I even put the table to where no one could push the door open. Window was unlocked and luckily I checked it before going to bed. Blood on bathroom wall behind door. See pictures. Flooring had gaps in it. Went back and asked about lights not working by the bed and apparently had come unplugged when cleaning crew moved the bed. Sketchy people outside at night and good thing parking lot was lit up. Went up to eat breakfast next morning and biscuits and gravy, gravy tasted good but was not hot. Very disappointed. Not enough parking. Pool not indoor. Not worth price I paid. I thought since it said “by Best Western” it would be decent but was totally mislead. Should have asked for refund as soon as we saw the room. Keep scrolling!!

The room was very clean. The desk staff was very helpful and friendly. Complaints would be the lighting in the rooms. Bathroom light was very dim. Lamps next to the beds were on the wall too high to reach from the bed so you always had to get up. We could always hear the person in the room above us get up and walk around at 5 o’clock in the morning.. Otherwise, the breakfast was decent. For the price it was good.

This is a slightly update roadside motel. It was serviceable of one night, but overpriced for what it offers. There were pets (dogs) barking in someone’s room, and guests arguing outside. This was a nice hotel. Fluffy towels, clean room that smelled nice and great breakfast. Front desk staff and the lady that makes breakfast couldn't be nicer. For breakfast you can make your own waffles, there was scrambled eggs, bacon, biscuits, yogurt, granola bars and trail mix stuff. The coffee was a lil weak but still had good flavor. Its close to places to eat and have a date night. As some of the other reviews said, it does need some updates but some updates have been done. There is a bit of paint chipping around the tub and in the tub- just don't eat it and you will be fine. There isn't much light above the sink so putting on your make-up is a lil bit of a pain. Last thing, the TV is smaller then we would have liked. We are coming back to the area in 2 weeks and would stay here again, but we are bringing our dogs and they said that they no longer allow dogs. This is a nice quite place to stay for a decent price.

Traveled and stayed here a couple times in a couple different rooms. Clean for the most part. The design they make from the towels sitting on the vanity is cute and welcoming. The hotel is older but has had some more recent upgrades. Bath still needs to be updated and was stained/chipped. Room was clean and beds had memory foam mattresses which was a nice surprise.
There was a shef in the sink area above the trash can that my husband hit his head/eye on turning to throw something away. I grazed my head as well but thankfully I am short.
It was Prom night so there were a lot of noisy teens staying there. I doubt it is like that all the time.
Breakfast was hot and overall it was worth what we paid for the night.

I was placed in the back building and when I went to check into my room, there was a homeless person sleeping under the back steps. That made me feel uncomfortable and unsafe for my 1 night stay. I did call the front desk and they removed the person, Of course, I felt conflicted about it because he wasn't bothering anyone. At breakfast there were several homeless people eating breakfast. I do imagine its hard for them to control, but this area clearly has an issue with unhoused people.
