Comfortable Stay Just Outside Lucca's Walls

Really convenient access to Lucca and its vacinity. Friendly staff and comfortable room. A very delicious and full-featured breakfast buffet. Dining options for lunch and dinner are best resolved with a trip inside Lucca's walls. The co-located restaurant at Albergo Celide has middling reviews; I didn't try it.

Extremely clean room! Very happy with upkeep of the room itself, not easy to find such attention to room cleanliness in Italy. Location is a 5-minute taxi ride from train station and very accessible to all the major sites in Lucca. Breakfast was amazing, there is also an onsite restaurant if you do not feel up for walking to the city center. Food is very good! Very happy with my stay.

We talk a 20 minute train ride to Pisa which was better than taking the car.

Met by Sonia in reception who was just so very helpful. Hotel provided us with bikes to explore the town. Such fun. Then Ricardo helped us get tickets to the Puccini concert in the San Giovanni. We loved Lucca and it was in no small part owing to the lovely people we met in the hotel and in the city.

This is a fantastic, small modern hotel. It is right across the street from an entrance to the walled city and has great on site parking. The staff is so nice and service simply excellent. If you are looking for a great place as base to see Lucca and the surrounding area and want modern charming accommodations, you should stay here.

The only thing that spoilt the stay was the area which was beyond the control of the hotel.
There was a noisy club next door and on one night there football celebrations with fireworks that would equal Disneyland set off in the street and car horns that lasted 3 hours. But was beyond the control of the hotel

I thought that the spa offering was both unique and a nice vip offering. I said no to the offering prior as I did not get an up graded room. I did request a different room because of the steps and we had told them before that we could not lug the luggage up more steps. They did move us to an end room but it was not any different than the one we had aside from the no steps needed to enter the room from the hall.

We were grateful to be able to check in at the last minute after having to leave a awful hotel that we were originally booked in by Travelodeals.

Albergo Celide is a lovely place to spend your Lucca vacation. It's comfortable and quite with wonderful breakfast and nice spa. It's moments away by foot from the entrance to the walled city.
Anna was delightful and incredibly helpful throughout our stay. She even booked two dinner reservations for us.

A great location, this place is great to be near the action, but not right on top of it! About a ten minute walk to the walls of Lucca, this is the perfect place to stay! Staff was extremely helpful with information about Lucca and the surrounding area and even helping us set up drivers (car or van) for our next stay (this was done pre-arrival I would recommend it)! There was a spa onsite, but as my family and I (3 total (English speaking only but that was not a problem)) only stayed one night, we were unable to experience it due to the sort of funky hours and us wanting to explore the city. The room was perfect for 3 almost suite like with separate bedrooms. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to go to Lucca, but doesn't want the over-inflated prices or hassle of staying in the city walls!

A 9 night stay in Lucca

Our room was large with a very comfortable king bed. The outside terrace and lounge provided us with the ideal space for some quiet enjoyment. The buffet breakfast choices were most enjoyable.
The hotel location, just outside of the walls and a short walk to the station, suited us perfectly. However, the best thing about this hotel has to be the staff, who treated so well.

This hotel is top-notch in ALL ways. The hotel description and photos on the website are completely accurate. We booked for one night, and ended up extending our stay for two more nights Beautiful, modern, very clean, wonderful helpful staff, fresh abundant breakfast with lots to choose from. We rode the bicycles the hotel had, all over town, including the Lucca walls. It made our first time in Lucca fantastico!

We had a really pleasant 5 days at the Albergo Celide 7th-12thMay 2023. The hotel is small but perfectly put together. We had room 10 which was a deluxe double, the room was spacious and nicely decorated and immaculately clean, pillows and bedding was was changed daily and serviced daily, there was ample storage for a short stay and the room had a small fridge for drinks. The bathroom was fine although the shower was a little claustrophobic and dark and the humidity fan was not working so the there was a feint odour inside the shower. The room also had a safety deposit box that you could leave valuables which was easy to programme. The desk staff were all extremely welcoming and helpful no questions too small, the breakfast was a typical continental type with breads cheese cold meats cereal and patisserie’s and was very acceptable and staff very accommodating. The hotel provided free umbrellas due to the poor weather during our stay and to they also provide free bikes for using around the lovely medieval streets of Lucca. Altogether a great trip thank you.

Despite that the listing on Expedia and the hotel’s website say there is a restaurant at this hotel there isn’t one. There is one next door but it’s closed on Sundays and Mondays and you need reservations most nights. The hotel is located in a no man’s land without restaurants, grocery or convenience stores. If you are traveling by car it would be an appropriate place to stay but otherwise getting anywhere requires a long walk. Lastly, The electrical outlets don’t put out enough power to charge all devices. I wasn’t able to charge my Kindle.

Highly recommended. Great location.

Lovely hotel in a great location just outside of the historic star fort. Easy walking distance or hire (as we did) free bicycles from the hotel. Staff very friendly.

The staff were all very helpful and welcoming. Check in was great and staff took time to give me an overview of the city with maps . The room was very comfortable with great quiet air conditioning. The included breakfast was very good with a wide selection of cold meats, cheeses, fruit and baked goods. The hotel is very convenient to the train station and just a short walk to Port Elisa entrance to the walled city.

Not worth the cost

The hosts were extremely friendly and took care of our needs. However, the pictures shown on the site do not reflect the condition of the room. The room was older and unfortunately, ours did not have the 'modern walk-in shower' shown on the website. The nightstand on my side of the bed was broken. Moreover, we were really looking forward to relaxing at the spa, getting a massage, etc but when we arrived we were informed that the spa is closed due to COVID restrictions. At the moment, in Italy, the requirements have eased up, but even if the hotel wanted to enforce them, they should note on the site that the SPA IS CLOSED until further notice. We were truly disappointed since the $200 charge for the room did not include any benefits.

Great hotel in lovely Lucca

Lovely hotel in a great location with friendly, helpful staff. Our double room was spacious and spotless with a comfortable bed. Continental breakfast had plenty of options for fruit, cereals and a variety of cakes and breads. Being able to borrow bikes to ride round the walls was a bonus. Would definitely stay there again.
