This was a great place to stay within walking distance of the downtown area of Lucca. The rooms were large and nice, breakfast was simple yet good and the access to the coffee machine was fantastic!

The room was immaculately clean, the staff was very helpful and polite and the breakfast was great. They kept replenishing the breakfast so even if you went right before it ended there was still plenty to choose from.

We loved the location close to the wall walking path. The staff (Sonja) was very friendly and helpful. The room was nice (TV, Bathroom and firm mattress) (we could have used some hand towels). The breakfast (continental) is not included in the price which we may have overlooked. The area is quiet as well.

This is an excellent place. Near the train station and easy access to the town. The room is spacious and very clean. AC worked great. The breakfast is very healthy. The only negative was the check in. When I arrived the building was locked and nobody answered the bell. I waited almost 20 minutes before being let in.

Highest rating. This B&B had such friendly and helpful staff, CLEAN rooms and comfy beds. The room we stayed in had SO MUCH room! We had two queen beds and the largest bathroom I’ve seen in Italy. And everything was very clean, as well as cleaned daily when you left. The breakfast in the morning had fresh fruit, pastries, yogurt, and a coffee machine. The coffee wasn’t amazing but that’s the only thing I can say that wasn’t great about this spot. Highly recommend staying here. The WiFi is great, smart tv and the AC worked perfectly. Everywhere we wanted to go was close, be that bike rentals, food, sight seeing, etc. you should stay here!

We paid over $300 for the room. Well over twice amount for a hotel room outside of the walls. We expected a lot better facilities. We now wish we would have stayed outside the walls of Lucca. The room was rather plain and the flooring was standard generic house tile. The size of the room felt small. The room was not fully furnished with towels. We thought that the towels were behind the door. We did get a shower floor mat which we used so we could get dressed. I would not pay over 100 euros per night here. The breakfast was a standard Italian breakfast, but I caution about the freshness of the items. I don’t like posting bad reviews. But this place needs improvements and a price reduction.

Fantastic place in Lucca

This is a wonderful Bed and Breakfast that is inside the city wall and a 10 minute walk to the train station. The staff is extremely helpful in giving suggestions on places to eat and things to do. We took a train one day to Pisa. They leave about every 30 minutes and we got off at the small station in Pisa just before the Central Station. This lets you off 3 blocks from the Leaning Tower and is much more convientent than the main station. The lady at the desk at the bed and breakfast recommended Osteria San Giorgio to eat dinner at and what a great place. We split a 800 gram steak Florentine which was cooked to perfection and we liked it so much that we returned 3 other nights during our 5 days in Lucca. The room, bed and pillows were very comfortable. They open up the breakfast room every day at 2 pm for coffee, tea and hot chocolate and rolls. We will definitely come back here if we return to Lucca.

Perfect Bed and Breakfast in Lucca Italy

This place is amazing. The staff is very helpful and they all speak very good English. The location is perfect, inside the city wall and in a very charming location. We have walked to everything. It is only a 10 minute walk to the RR station. The breakfast is excellent and every afternoon between 2PM and 4PM they offer coffee, hot chocolate and pastries in the breakfast room -- a nice touch! Our room was quite large and the bathroom very nice. Everything spotlessly clean and in a very quiet area. The beds and pillows are very comfortable. We will definitely stay here again if we return to Lucca.

Terrific location inside walled city and easy walk from train station. Room was generously sized, bed was comfortable, and bathroom was clean with all amenities. Breakfast was hearty and plentiful. Wish we'd planned a longer visit to Lucca!

Well placed for exploring Lucca

Only had 48 hours in Lucca, so we really appreciated Il Seminario's location. Walking distance of the railway station (8 mins) and well placed for exploring Lucca, i.e inside the walls.

Lovely helpful staff, and the place is comfortable and spotless. I'd certaintly go back , and stay longer.

Lucca-Best place to Stay-with car!

Staff was very courteous and caring. Room was large and comfortable AND quiet! The neighborhood was very quiet as well. A/C worked well and the shower was better than at home. Breakfast was good and staff was very helpful with coffee and extras. Also helped plan our daily visits. Parking if your are inside the walls of Lucca is a must and they provided a secure location. Easy access in and out of the walled city. You do not want to drive inside the walls of Lucca!
Would recommend this hotel to my friends and we will stay again.

This was my 2nd stay here. The location was perfect : a quiet part of the city, within the walls, so all the main attractions were close by. The staff were very friendly and and would do anything to help to make the stay a good one. They also spoke English, which was a bonus. I would definitely use this hotel again.

We booked Il Seminario mainly because it was close to the Lucca station so it was a very pleasant surprise when we arrived. The building and decor are charming, the breakfast buffet is great and the staff are very helpful and friendly ( particularly Manuela). It was a great base for our five day stay in Lucca.

Great B and B and close to everything

The staff at this B and B went out of their way to make our stay as easy and pleasant as possible. Right from helping with the luggage, directing the parking, to recommending places of interest and restaurants. It is located within the wall and close to everything. There was a very nice breakfast buffet with the ability to sit out on the patio in warmer weather.

Simple luxury

Il Seminario offers everything a traveller needs in a plain (in a good way), very comfortable and clean environment, and for a reasonable price. They seem to understand the basic comforts a traveller needs, and they provide those with good quality and without any fussing around with unnecessary bells and whistles. A complimentary bottle of water was waiting for me on my arrival in my room - seems silly, but it was a simple, perfect gift for someone who had been hauling a heavy suitcase on a warm day, and an amenity I did not find at other, \"fancier\" places. The room was large, and I loved the old windows with the internal shutters. Breakfast was a nice selection of baked goods, meats, eggs, cereal, and juices, with pleasant seating indoors or out. And dear Irene seems to be the young mother spirit of the place, everywhere at once, offering coffee, asking after your day, and generally making sure everyone is comfortable and looked after. I hated to leave - it was the perfect shelter for a few days in beautiful Lucca.

Well presented hotel in convenient location

We had a lovely stay in Lucca at Il Seminario. This hotel is within easy walking distance of the main sites within the city walls, but also has parking available. The room was a good size and the bathroom was lovely with a great shower. The staff were very helpful and friendly and at breakfast there was a good choice on the continental buffet. Breakfast is inside or in the little garden space which is very pleasant. I would recommend this hotel for both couples and families travelling with children.

Hotel was very good and is close to the railway station- there is a shorter way to get to the hotel from the station through the tunnel which the locals might be able to help with, this is not clear from Google Maps. The hotel owner Paulo was very helpful. Room was clean and very well-furnished - the aesthetics were top-notch. It is a bit pricey for a small town, but found it to be worth for what we were paying. Overall, it is a very good place to stay and would definitely recommend it.

Great location, great price

We were 5 so we needed 3 rooms. They were all wonderful. And we even got to park our van for free in the garden behind closed gates...a real plus in this lovely walled city. The rooms were immaculate. There was WiFi and the breakfast was fresh and generous with cappucino and caffelatte for those who wished it. The staff was wonderful..Paolo and Emmanuele, and most accomodating and helpful with suggestions for dinner. A very high recommend!

Very conveniently located inside the wall. 5 minutes walk from the Lucca train station. Close to eateries. The hotel was very nice. The room was very clean. Housekeeping was being done daily. The room had a fridge, which came handy to me (I could buy cold drinks, juices and fruits). The free breakfast was good.
