Location is the main reason to book here. I would reserve again. However the walls are paper thin and sound carries. The room is small but good value. Be aware la Rombla is under construction but not working at night. There is no safe in the room. They did allow us to store our bags as we arrived early. We did not have breakfast as it was continental type. There are choices near the hotel. Staff was friendly. Don't expect a fancy hotel room. Do expect a great location to tour from. Good value.

I'm judging this on a hotel scale, not a hostel scale. To say the rooms are tiny is an understatement. Cruise ship rooms are bigger. It's also not cheap. The area is under intense construction. There was a jack hammer going off at 7 am 10ft (4 meters) from my pillow! Having to carry our bags up 4 staircases to check in was something I could do without. Thank God we were only there 1 night!

Booked online to stay here during a brief stopover in Barcelona, and boy did I luck out in terms of being right in the middle of the action! I walked everywhere I needed to go, and it is right above a metro station. Yes it was noisy on the street at night (and until dawn, really), and the street is all torn up out front, but the convenience for someone visiting the city for the first time made up for it. The room was good and the staff helpful when I needed them. The breakfast was just meh for 10€, but I’m an American used to eggs, pancakes, etc. Would definitely return.

The location is great, just off Las Rambles. It was over priced for what it had to offer. The reception is not on ground level and you need to carry your bags up a few flights of stairs to get to reception. From there you are able to use a lift up to room. The room was extremely small. The bathroom was also small but the shower was in the same area with basin and toilet with no shower curtain. It was very small and at each shower everything got wet making floor slippery. The air conditioning was just OK but we weren’t there at the hottest time. There was no safe. The reception staff were helpful.

Tiny room with tiny bathroom. Thin walls hearing other people in other rooms. This hotel is located on the 1st floor of a bldg which includes going up a 28 step (normally 14 steps/flr in US) winding cement staircase (see photos) to access from the G (ground) floor hall entry. It even includes in the Hotel Facility Accessibility Description: “Elevator” for handicap even including a wheel chair photo (impossible). All Guests are required to manually lift their own individual suitcases up a 28 step spiral cement staircase to get to their 1st floor Check In desk. If you are traveling with heavy luggages (ie: 50lbs each allowance for airline), you will be expected to walk up your suitcases to the 1st floor where a tiny elevator is located to get from Flr # 1-4. Their is no porter service (had to beg for assistance & offer $10 tip). While the hotel discloses that an elevator is available from the 1st floor. It does not disclose that there are 28 steps spiral stairs for the guest to climb up to get to the 1st floor. There are over 70 photos provided by the hotel to show their rooms & facilities. However, no photos of the stairs? They indicate that it is on the welcome email after you book a non-refundable room. I even complained on the \"welcome email\" which was sent via Hotel.com & never received a rsponse from the Hotel. This false advertisement of “Handicap” accessibility is illegal and should be flagged by Travel websites.

This hostel is exactly as advertised. You need to walk up 2 flights of stairs. Desk staff were excellent. Room small but very clean and adequate. There was a slight smell coming from shower drain which is in close proximity to head of bed. Drain smell does seem to be an issue in Barcelona. The breakfast was fantastic. Lots of healthy choices and “goodies”.

This hotel was perfectly located on the Ramblas but with high-quality windows and air conditioning, you hardly noticed the noise. We were impressed with the included breakfast, welcome offering, and eco-friendly approach as well as the humanitarian outreach of the hotel’s management. We would absolutely recommend it and would stay here again when in Barcelona.

This property is right in the heart of old town Barcelona close to everything. The area is beautiful with lots of stores & restaurants. The hotel is only steps from a Metro stop which makes exploring economical & convenient. We cannot begin to express how very wonderful the staff is - so hospitable, kind, and over-the-top customer oriented. Know that there are some stairs to navigate so if you have mobility problems you might not be comfortable here. Breakfast included was good - European style with meats, cheeses, variety of rolls & bread, fruit and coffee/tea/juice. We hope to go back.

The hotel charged my credit card at reservation oct 10 for the full amount of 3 nights via hotels.com. . But, on check in on oct 25 the hostal insisted on taking my credit card to charge the full amount a second time. They could not answer my questions if this was merely a hold or a second charge. As per the hotels description there was an in-room safe. There was no safe.
It was boiling hot in the room. We asked different staff at reception to check the AC and got the standard answer that the city requires the AC to stay at 27 degrees. Finally, we investigated ourselves and noticed that many of the vents were closed.This issue could have easily been sorted if anyone had to just come and take a look at the AC.
We requested no housekeeping and maintained the room ourselves for the 5 days we were there. On the last day we asked if we could check out half an hour later as we would be too early for our flight, and received a rude NO. After a 4 night stay, half an hour is not a lot to ask.

Great location. Some visible wear to the hotel but overall great. Breakfast was excellent with a view. Busy area! Steps away from metro station and nice walk to various tourists attractions. They lock the entry doors at night and only allow guests in the building which made me feel safe during my solo trip.
