This hotel has serious hygiene issue. We paid for 2 nights and when we checked in at night, we found hundreds of ants crawling on the windows and tens of bugs crawling and flying all over the bed, ceiling, wall and floor. I do appreciate the fact that the staff cleaned the room again and applied pest control at 11pm at night as a remedy. However, the proper cleaning and any pest control should have been done prior to our arrival, not when we found out the issue. We had to sleep that night with the remaining bug spray smell and dead insect bodies in the room. It’s too late at night and we couldn’t find another hotel. I couldn’t even know how much toxic gas and VOC that I had breathed in. Besides the insect issue, the cleanliness in general is also a concern. See pictures attached. We had to check out the room immediately the next day morning. THE HOTEL REFUSED TO REFUND for the 2nd night that we didn’t even stay. So basically we paid for their fault and the hotel just doesn’t care. It’s a sketchy area too. It’s about 15 mins walk from the train station with the big luggages. I recommend to choose something closer to the Mestre train station than this Antica Villa hotel. It claims to be “2 star” hotel but definitely below “1 star” as per East Asian standards or North American standards. So watch out for the hotel star rating if you are travelling from North America or Asia.

This was a great value close to Venice. The outdoor garden area was nice. The room was very spacious with a nice bathroom that had good water pressure. The air conditioning could have been a little colder, but we were there in the heat of summer. It worked sufficiently to allow us to get a good night’s sleep. The bus stop to Venice is close by.

When I booked a room for 3 people(me and my husband ＋my father) it said “3 Twin Beds OR 1 Double Bed and 1 Twin Bed” and I requested “3 Twin Beds”AND THEY CONFIRMED. But it was 1 Double bed 1 extra bed that my 90 years old father needed to sleep on the small extra bed… At the site, I claimed ‘You’ve confirmed “3 twin beds”! But they said we don’t have rooms other than that. I asked ‘ Why did you put “3 Twin Beds OR 1 Double Bed and 1 Twin Bed” in the first place, then?!’ the clerk in the morning said ‘ I don’t know. I’m just working here, This is not my hotel.’ There are no manager at the hotel.

Better value for couples/solo, than for families

We booked last minute for a 1 night pre-cruise arrival, replacing a booking at a location which has had an outbreak of bed bugs.
We paid €43 for 4 people, 4 carry in bags, 2 checked bags, 2 backpacks, and a laptop shoulder bag to reach the hotel from VCE. The airport shuttle would have been €60, so I am glad we declined.
We had to stay in 2 separate rooms due to no quads available, which we knew in advance. The rooms were on the same floor but on separate corridors. We were allowed to leave the large bags downstairs in order not to carry them up, no elevator.
We were offered a simple breakfast for €7 each, which I thought was high.
Taxi to the cruise terminal the following day was €42.
In total for airport transfer, overnight, and cruise transfer without breakfast, we paid about €250.
This hotel is a much better value for couples or solo travellers rather than a family, but service was friendly, and the rooms were clean and comfortable.

A good location near the bus and train. Very easy to get into Venice. We enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere away from the crowds of Venice. The staff were so nice and helpful. The room was simple but comfortable with enough room for luggage. The bed was good but the pillows were quite firm. There was a lovely garden out front to sit and enjoy breakfast. The breakfast had a good variety with delicious homemade cakes and great coffee. We stayed five days and really enjoyed ourselves.

Hotel is not very far from railway & bus station. Local transport is near by from where you easily get the bus for venice island. Room are only for 2 adults. Staff is very friendly. The lady at reception guide us how to go to venice. Also she provide us written information about bus number, stops for going and returning.

Excellent location for day trips Venice.

Chose to stay outside Venice as party of a tour of Italy and this hotel offered the options we wanted. 15 mins walk from train station. Cheap bus service to Venice leaves from very close by which was a bonus (but can be very busy/hot on its return). Hotel staff very helpful in providing details and tickets. Room on the small side but lovely fresh and clean bathroom. Quiet location, peaceful hotel Plenty of choice for breakfast which can be taken outside in the garden. Again staff happy to help/provide selection. Large supermarket nearby.

Great Value, Location and Personal Hospitality!

Loved the personal hospitality of this small hotel. Great to have free parking in front of hotel. Loved being located a block away from a large grocery store and near a bus to Venice. Check-in was great. Appreciated staff showing us everything we needed to know about the room and how to get to Venice. The room was clean and spacious. If you staff here don't do what we did and leave the windows open all night (don't like AC). We were covered in mosquito bites in the morning. We know they were mosquitoes as we saw them flying around the room.

Cheap alternative to staying in the Canals

I stayed here 2 nights in a double bed room. I chose this hotel as staying in Mestre is a bit cheaper than staying in Venice proper, and it turned out okay for me. There is a frequent bus to Venice a couple of blocks away, it's a good idea to get on a bit early (but not super early) so that it's not absolutely packed. The tobacco shop across the road sells passes, but the staff there don't speak English. But I was able to order a two-day (\"duo giorni\") pass, which includes unlimited bus trips and use of the Venetian water buses. The bus to Venice takes about 20 minutes.
The hotel is a decent walk from the train station, you might just want to take a taxi. The room was small and basic but perfectly functional. The breakfast was good. Wifi is good, a bit slow at times. There is a supermarket just up the street. The staff were very kind in letting me check in early, and spoke good English.
I went to nearby Al Giordinetto for dinner, they have a full English menu with lots to choose from.

Nice Hotel; Good Value, Quiet Neighborhood

Small, intimate hotel in a quiet residential neighborhood. Convenient to bus and Metro Tram into Venice. Mestre train station is about a 20-25 minute walk, part in a dinghy but well lighted pedestrian tunnel. We never felt unsafe on this walk. Our room was small with few amenities, but comfortable for a short stay. Bathroom was also tiny, but had a nice shower. Good breakfast with more than the usual coffee and pastries. Wifi connection was very good and, bonus for us, we had a couple English TV channels. Hotel has a charming enclosed garden courtyard with bistro tables. The room price was reasonable, given the proximity to expensive Venice. Restaurant choices are limited, but the hotel staff recommended Il Giardnetto, a 5-minute walk away. Great restaurant…excellent food!

We were driving so stayed here as parking was available. We bought a 48 hour bus/water taxi pass and used it to go into Venice daily and to all the islands as well as up and down the grand canal. Terrific spot.

Great, safe hotel close to Venice!

My daughter and I stayed here on two separate occasions during our two week stay in Italy. The first night we stayed in a single room that was a little cramped but it had a wonderful balcony! At the end of the trip we stayed here for 2 nights in a room with 2 twin beds that also had a pull down bunk bed on the wall. This bathroom was about twice the size of the single room but we did not have a balcony. There is a grocery store located behind the hotel and we walked there for roasted chicken and premade salads for our dinner. We enjoyed dinner and wine at the little tables out in front of the hotel in their wonderful garden. Getting to and from Venice and the airport was very easy. The front desk had a map that showed us how to get where we needed to be and sold us tickets for the tram. The only reason I did not give it a perfect score was because there is not a lift to carry the luggage but the front desk was more than helpful helping us carry our luggage up the steep steps! The desk staff even helped me print my airline boarding passes when we could not check in using our tablet!

My son and I really enjoyed our stay at Antica Villa Graziella Hotel. It was the best hotel of the four that we stayed at during our tour of Italy. The staff was helpful and friendly and the room was very neat and tidy. The price was reasonable for the location as we did have to take a ten minute bus ride into Venice each day.

Nice room shame about the area and staff...

As two young females arriving late due to train reservations we did not feel safe or welcome at this hotel at all. Despite emailing before hand that we would be arriving after check in time and were advised this would be ok we were 'un' greeted by an elder man who hastily answered the door to us asking 'Don't you know check in finishes at 12' what a lovely welcome after a long journey!
The room itself was ok and clean enough the area just didn't feel safe as it's quite derilict and far to walk from the station.
If we were to stay in Venice again we would definitely stay in Venice city!
The staff unfortunately were no better the following day and seemed greatly annoyed by any questions we would ask. Overall we just were not happy with the service of this hotel.

Antica Villa was overall very good. There is a fair distance you have to walk from the train station to the hotel so dragging our luggage there was a hassle. The neighbourhood is not the best, so we didn't walk out at night time or come back late. Inside the hotel, it was nice and the reception was helpful in providing information re: bus to venice and selling tickets. However, the hotel room did not have a table and chairs so we had to eat dinner in bed. Overall, we found it clean and safe inside the hotel.

We were pleased with our 3 night stay at this quaint, 15 room hotel. A great value. The front desk staff was helpful, especially Sara and Adella. They furnished us with wine glasses so we could share a bottle of wine with friends and sit out front in the beautiful garden area. The bus stop is a quick 10 minute walk from the hotel which was nice in getting into Venice proper. The AC worked great and it was nice to sleep really cool!! Don't think you will be disappointed unless you want the utmost in luxury!!!

We stayed in an apartment across the road to the hotel which for us was perfect as we had lots more room. The hotel was lovely, staff were extremely pleasant and very helpful with transport, restaurants etc. The breakfast was good too, makes a lovely change from the old traditional cooked English breakfast and you could have as much as you wanted. The location was good as was within walking distance of bus/tram stops which ran frequently into Venice and near to train station.

Good if budget doesn't stretch to Venice!

Our budget wouldn't stretch to Venice itself so we stayed here on the mainland. The staff are so helpful with a map in reception and advise of how to get into Venice (very easy - regular 6 or 6/ bus service a few moments from the hotel for €1 or as part of the travel pass), the journey took about 15-20 mins and takes you directly to the bus station on the island.
The hotel was clean and comfortable. Our room was fairly small but it was for a family of 4 and can be expected. The bathroom looked brand new and the shower was fab.
Breakfast is definitely worth getting as its a little trip to Venice itself and there's nowhere on the doorstep (although there's a supermarket very close if you prefer to buy something to eat in the room). There was a selection of cereals, croissants, meat/cheese, etc and you are provided with a fresh croissant and coffee as you are seated. The dining room is small but we never had to wait.
We would definitely use Antica Villa Graziella again.

Nice hotel in Venice Mestre

This is the second time I stayed at Antica Villa Graziella Hotel. The hotel is clean and tidy. The staff are polite and helpful. Getting there to and from the Venice Mestre Station is not difficult. From the hotel to Venice takes less than 20 mins by bus. It is also easy access to the airport by bus #15. Highly recommend to those travelling to Venice who is looking for an affortable and proper hotel to stay for a few days.

We had a great time here June 23/24, 2014 and would stay again w/o second thought. Sara met us warmly speaking very good English. Everything about the room was great; bathroom, bed, towels, shower and the A/C was cold as you like. It is a short walk from the train but but well worth it. A large grocery store around the corner helped us save money during the day in Venice while the breakfast served by Roberta was very tasty and filling.

Charming little hotel near bus stop to Venice

Small hotel without a pool etc. but it's near Venice and there are some good Italian restaurants nearby (Pizzeria Al Giardinetto at Via Zambelli was delicious, cheap and had a really nice backyard). Bus stop to Venice is 5-10 minutes away. Rooms are small but clean. W-lan works, parking is free but you need to hand over the keys to the receptionist.

The room was comfortable, clean and had A/C, which was good because it was hot and humid here. The woman at the front desk was very helpful and explained to us how to get to Venice. She was even able to sell us bus tickets. The bus to Venice is just a short walk away. The hotel had a garden atmosphere and the front had beautiful flowers and landscaping.

the staff, which for me was 3 different people. was, well, way beyond nice and caring. after traffic we arrived very late, around 22:00 or more, and the first receptionist was very caring and clear. after she finished with the \"official\" stuff, she went to show us the various things we might need to know in the room. later, she gave us some brochures of local food places and was ready to call on our behalf and make a delivery order ( although everything was closed). later she described the way to the nearest restaurant. they also have a simplified map of their surroundings, bus lines etc. the next day, in the morning, a different receptionist helped us with pre-paid bus tickets, which the hotel has just for this kind of need, explained how to get to the bus, etc. later that day, when we came back from venice, although already not a staying customer, we still had our car at the hotel parking - it was a very wise choice, again, as a tip given to us by the hotel staff. i rate them excellent for this total care and service.

Close to train station and bus to airport.

Friendly and helpful staff. Easy to get to and only a short ride to Venice by bus nor train. Good restaurants near by and a supermarket just around the corner from the hotel. Nice garden setting out front of hotel with some small tables and chairs.

great to travel into Venice and a fab place

Beautiful little place in a not-so-nice area but lovely room (with new bed as of this winter, apparently!), nice new bathroom and really mediterranean feel. Good breakfast (€6) too.
5min walk to bus into Venice which goes every 10min and takes about 15min, €2.60 return tix can be bought at hotel. Couldn't be easier!
V helpful staff and a big drawn-out map at reception with bus stop, closest restaurant etc. There are parking spaces at the hotel but also a good number along the road. V good value for money considering how easy it is to get into Venice without paying Venice prices!
Totally recommended.

Cosy hotel in Mestre area for a Venezia trip

The location is very convenient, a 20 minute bus ride from Piazzale Roma. The room was small, but very clean and comfortable. The staff is very helpful. Parking is freely available at the hotel and on the street. The neighbourhood is calm and beautiful.

Good, clean hotel but far from attractions

I had an overnight stay here while visiting Venice. The accommodations were nice and clean. We had everything we needed. The only downside was that the hotel was a long walk from the nearest train station outside of Venice. If you don't mind the walk it is a fairly priced and nice hotel. Fair warning: the main street that leads to the hotel is unnamed so map it before you arrive.

Easy access to Venice, modern facilities

Hotel is around 900 metres to Mestre station. The staff was helpful in sending detailed directions before our trip and also recommendations to restaurants in the area. There is a super market around the corner. Getting to Venice is easy. A bus gets you there in 10 minutes. The room was very clean and had a bunk bed and a double bed. The bunk bed was squeaky. The bathroom was very modern and seemed to be recently renovated. In all an OK stay.

Great stay outside of Venice

Great place to stay outside of Venice. When we checked in, our room had some issues and they moved us to the suite across the street at no charge, which is a 2 bedroom apartment. Close to easy-to-use buses and the Mestre train station. Breakfast is €6 per person per day, but we didn't partake. The hotel staff was great for recommendations in the neighborhood and they also lend out Venice guide books.

Very Happy with this choice

It's totally worth the extra few blocks of walking from the Mestre train station to this hotel. You will not be disappointed. Wonderful hotel. Everything was above what we expected. Super friendly and helpful staff. Clean and comfortable rooms and bathrooms. Very cute and pretty facility. Bus station to Venice is a few blocks away and its an easy 10 minute ride.

Perfect location for a Venetian stopover.

Hotel is located about 15 min away from Venice but very easy access by bus. It took us 5 min to walk to the bus stop and the receptionist had sold us the bus tickets.
We got the apartment suite across the street from the hotel which worked out perfect for our family of 4. It had 2 bedrooms, a living area, a nice bathroom and a kitchenette.
Breakfast is extra but wifi and parking (on the street or in a gated lot) is free.
We bought some breakfast items at the supermarket around the corner and enjoyed the suite.
We would definitely recommend this hotel!

Antica Villa Graziella is a lovely hotel, with a cocoon feel to it. Staff is very friendly, breakfast is good, rooms are small but comfy. There is a terrace, very enjoyable for an evening drink in the sunset heat. It is well situated next to Venice Mestre train station (10-minute walk) which is convenient.

Great 2 Night Stay

My wife and I spent 2 nights in Antica Villa Graziella Hotel for our stay in Venice. We got the place to save some money by not staying on the island of Venice, and I'm really glad we did. For our whole trip (including other cities in Italy), this was probably our favorite lodging. Yes, a 15 minute walk from the train station, but it really didn't bother us. The room was incredibly clean and comfortable, great all around. The fact a grocery store was so close was a big plus. We didn't do the breakfast at the hotel but stopped by the grocery store for breakfast each morning. And on the way home we stopped by for wine and snacks for the night. High recommendation!

Very Clean Rooms

We were really pleased, it's a great hotel with great price. Bathrooms and rooms are super clean. Location is great for budget traveller, although it takes some time to get to the main island. Everything else was great. There is a supermarket nearby.

Great Saver's Option for Venezia

No negatives. Rooms are a good size for Europe; they customize rates for one or two children per room; breakfast is ample, and can be comfortably taken on the patio under a grapevined trellis; ten minutes walk to the bus station, ten minutes into Venezia. (The only caution is that the No. 6 bus which takes you in is so crowded in both directions that you will be seriously considering taking a taxi --- but, the taxi is 15-20 Euro at least, while the bus is only 1.20.)

Clean and pleasent Hotel near venice

The people were very friendly and the hotel was small but clean. The rooms were well-maintained and basic. We had a safe and a tv. No fridge or kettle.

The bathroom was a good size but the shower drain took a while for the water to clear.

Breakfast may be requested for a small price. It was a good feed. The outdoor area was lovely and you can have your breakfast there.

The staff recommended restaurants nearby and 1 of them was so good we kept going back! I can't remember the name of it but it's the closest one to the hotel. Some of the best pasta and pizza we had in Italy. We preferred the classic pizzas than the \"modern\" pizzas with too many ingredients in them. Good service too.

It's about a 10 mins walk to the bus stop where buses into Venice arriving regularly (every 10 mins) up to midnight or so. Buses between midnight and 6pm run every hour. The bus ride is about 10 mins to the terminal which is at the west end of of Venice.

We were staying on the ground floor next to the stairs and it can be noisy when guests from upstairs are coming downstairs in the morning. It never really bothered us since we were up and getting ready to go out ourselves.

There was free wifi, you just have to ask for the password and if it drops out, the staff are more than happy to reset the modem.
