Was booked for 4 nights. Resturaunt shut mon open tues and wed. Shut thurs no reason given. Thin quilt in room. Curtains did not fit and i was on street level so in dark people could look in from street. Room not cleaned bin emptied or towels changed during entire stay. Was not cheap to stay there either. I am well traveled and stay away 4 nights a week with work and this was not good.

The condition of the hotel was really good, however the aircon didn't go down far, but that might be due to the energy cut backs. The breakfast was pretty good.

Too noisy

Very noisy. The room was too close to a road with much traffic. At 5.30 in the morning two workers were talking load in the corridor. The entrance to the outdoor pool was just under our window. People met and waited for each other very early (around 6.30 in the morning. But the worst was the traffic, also at night.

Super convinient when coming to dive, also fun to have sauna and fitness around the corner, but the toilet smeeled so badly upon arrival, had to leave the fan on for hours, didnt help much

Nice hotel. Would stay again pending open pool.

Nice hotel, next to a small water park.
Good reception on arrival, and the room was nice. However we were under the impression the hotel had indoor swimming pools from the description. This was not the case. The only option was the outdoor pools within the water park. No good for us.
The breakfast selection was good and fortunately there was a nice restaurant/pub/club 100 meters away along with a small supermarket across the road.

OK...but noisy

Generally a nice hotel.
However the rooms have no air conditioning which, given the recent warm weather, resulted in the need to leave the windows open. Having a room at the front of the hotel and above the hotel entrance, with people coming and going in to the early hours, resulted in an interrupted nights sleep.

Great choice!

Gladly found this hotel on our way to Cologne, and it was the best hotel of our 2-week trip. It's one of those hotels where every detail is though-through. The rooms are comfortable, the breakfast delicious, the staff is courteous, and place is beautiful and you can even use a huge swimming pool if you wanted to. Besides this, the small town of Siegburg is beautiful as well. Away from tourists and filled with live. It might be a bit far if you are going to Cologne or Bonn, but not a problem if you have a car. (the have parking lot, by the way).

Good hotel, lets itself down with the details

Have stayed here before, but an update to previous reviews. I was upgraded to a more spacious room at the end of the corridor on the top floor. However this had the downside of very patchy wi-fi. The bathroom was a bit odd also given that it is open plan to the main room - the shower faces the bed through a glass window. Also, the shower is not a contained room which ultimately leads to a lot of water encroaching into the bathroom.

Breakfast is good quality, the rooms are smart and the staff are pleasant.

Smart hotel, some minor drawbacks

The oktopus is in a low key location - there are a few bars and restaurants within a five minute walk but the town centre is a fifteen minute or so walk away. It is a 10EUR taxi ride from the Siegburg/Bonn railway station. The hotel is adjacent to a swimming and scuba diving pool, which is great if you like that sort of thing!

The breakfast buffet is a fairly standard German affair.

The hotel itself is fairly modern, the rooms are smart if a little spartan. Tiled floors can lead to some noise.

During my visit the daytime temperature was over 30C/85F and around 20C/70F at night. Admittedly this is unusual for Germany but without air conditioning, the rooms were for sure a little warm. Having the windows open helped but being adjacent to the road and under the flight path to Cologne/Bonn airport made the nights a little noisy and sticky. Probably for over 330 nights a year this isn't a problem as it was quiet enough with the windows closed!

Dive Anyone?

Hotel is at a scuba diving centre, so primarily not in a tourist destination. However, only a 15min walk into town with restaurants etc. However a truely excellent Vietnamese restaurant is only 5mins walk down the road. Room was certainly larger then anticipated, and lovely. The Sky Cinema HD channel in English was very welcome when you have the flu! A very pleasant stay.

The room was reasonably clean, bad lighting around the bathroom mirror, old towels. There is no air ventilation system or air conditioning in the room, for fresh air the windows have to be opened. The hotel is below the airport landing route and a road nearby, not possible to sleep with the windows open. Our room was next to the lift, other hotel guests was talking while waiting there at night. The breakfast was very good.

Nice hotel, staff reasonably polite, we travelled with a dog and found out after booking that we had to pay extra for dog. Website extremely misleading!!!! Room opposite lift, therefore noisy, told at reception I had to pay extra to have a more comfortable room!!! Not impressed

A pleasant surprise!

I was not expecting much of this hotel, but reception staff was very nice while free wi-fi, free gym room and free sauna all added up to a very nice stay.
Rail, tram and bus stations are straight down the road, but you'll probably need 20-30 mins to walk (the second half goes through a beautiful old pedestrian street though).

Härligt hotell för ett stopp på vägen ett dyk

Mycket bra hotell i en jättetrevlig liten stad med mysigt torg. Bra säng och tyst o lugnt hotell. Perfekt för den som gillar bad då det ingår i priset att bada i närliggande badhus . Gillar man dykning finns en dyktunnel på 20 meter bredvid hotellet till extra kostnad men inte dyrt!

Alles ganz großartig. Vom unkomplizierten Check-in, über das wirklich große Zimmer mit Couch und Schreibtisch, bis hin zum empfehlenswerten Frühstück (sehr lecker und große Auswahl). Einzig der Strahl der Dusche war nicht ganz mein Fall, aber das ist Meckern auf sehr hohem Niveau.

Leider konnte das Hotel auf unsere Wünsche bzgl. Zimmerlage nicht eingehen, da EXPEDIA diese wohl nicht übermittelt hat..somit hatten wir ein Zimmer in der Ecke über der Rezeption, des externen Schwimmbadeingangs sowie genau über der Raucherecke bekommen. Wäre das Hotel aufgrund der FIBO nicht ausgebucht, hätten wir sehr wahrscheinlich tauschen können..Trotz der Lage zur Strasse konnte man nschts dad Fenster halb offen lassen, nur morgens, wenn Gäste sehr früh auscheckten evtl. schliessen. Das Frühstück war super! Der Zugang vom Hotel zum Schwimmbad, das Schwimmbad an sich und der dortige Saunabereich waren ebenfalls top. Alles in Allem würde ich das Hotel erneut buchen.

Unterkunft zum Weihnachtsmarkt

Wir waren zu Viert zum Besuch des Weihnachtsmarkt in Siegburg, sehr zu empfehlen (Mittelaltermarkt). Das Hotel liegt 15-20 Minuten zu Fuß vom Marktplatz entfernt.

Changement de chambre dès les premières minutes, non respect des demandes. Chambre spacieuse, bon couchage, sdb fonctionnelle. Dommage que l'on ne propose pas aux clients le choix du nettoyage où pas, il faut le réclamer. Rideaux non occultant, rue très passante et passage d'avion, donc bruyant.
Petit déjeuner buffet impeccable, dommage qu'il n'y ait de restaurant !!!

Mauvaise réception hôtel pas trop mal

On m’a refusé l’entrée à la piscine 40 minutes avant la fermeture en me disant qu’elle était déjà fermée, ok alors m’envoyer pas de mail avec un horaire de piscine fausse ou alors précisez qu’il faut il aller une avant la fermeture. Je le fait remarquer à la réceptionniste avec la preuve du mail mais non j’ai du mal lire. Bref je devais la déranger pendant sa communication téléphonique personnelle. Réceptionniste de mauvaise fois et pas agréable

War ein wirklich schöner Aufenthalt. Hatten uns allerdings von „Wassererlebnisbad“ etwas mehr erhofft. Das Frühstück war gut, aber leider waren oft einzelne Sachen schon früh aufgebraucht oder wurden nicht nachgebracht. Das Personal war unterschiedlich vom Auftreten und von der Freundlichkeit, aber im Großen und Ganzen sehr nett und zuvorkommend.

Das Hotel war sehr schön und ruhig, wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Frühstück war der Hammer!
Leider ist das Hallenbad im Sommer geschlossen, wenn dann schlechtes Wetter ist, bleibt trotzdem nur das Freibad. Trotzdem war es ein richtig schöner Kurzurlaub!

Prima Familienausflug

Die Zimmer sind funktional. Schöne Badezimmer, kleiner TV, Bett bequem. Aber kalt. Es ist kein Zimmer zum Zeit verbringen, das tut man lieber im herrlichen Schwimmbad, beim Tauchen oder im leckeren Restaurant. Wir hatten zudem das Pech über der Raucher Ecke zu wohnen. Nix gegen Raucher, aber Fenster öffnen war ein Problem. Das nächste Mal…
