The location was great, and the hotel had a lot of charm. My one complaint is the “rooftop garden”. Part of the reason I booked this hotel is because I was hoping my boyfriend and I would be able to enjoy a sunset from the rooftop garden. It’s not a rooftop garden at all. It’s a restaurant. You have to have reservations and you have to order something to spend time there, even if you are staying at the hotel. I feel like this was false advertising. I would not stay there again because of this.

The noise was unbearable as the kitchen is above (we were on the 4th floor - #414) and there was cleaning, banging, pots and pans clanging, dropping things, and chairs scraping over our heads until well after midnight. This was a regular night! The walls / floors / ceiling were so thin that it sounded like the kitchen crew and neighbors coughing were in my room. It sounded like construction going on. This was the loudest hotel I have ever been in, and I’ve stayed in hostels, cheap hotels, fancy hotels. There was also an event going on next door at the church, with bottles and equipment being loaded on to trucks until 2am right outside my window. Windows are old and need to be double paned like most hotels of this price. Some mold in the shower although not severe. The staff were lovely and helped to refund the next two nights we reserved as we had to switch to a quieter hotel, which was expensive as there wasn’t much available on short notice. The owner did not refund the night where I got about 3-4 hours sleep. On the good side, the hotel has a wonderful view from the common lounge and dining room, the decor is beautiful, and we enjoyed having a drink in the lounge and watching the sunset over the river. Breakfast was very good. Steps from the Uffizi Gallery and Ponte Vecchio. If you stay here, only stay on floors 2 or 3, not 4. Request a room that does not face the church courtyard, which also had drunk men yelling until midnight. I personally will not stay again.

I liked the area as it was walkable and close to tourist attractions. However, it was very crowded and noisy. Even the hotel at midnight was very noisy. If you want to consider this hotel to stay, never ever get 4th floor. The reception and restaurant are in 5th floor and 4th floor will be super noisy, the way that you cannot sleep.
We had not a good experience in this hotel unfortunately.

The location is great , breakfast is absolutely great , but I have to say that is a very old property, I stayed in room 102 ... the room was clean but the shower was nasty... the sheets were clean but the mattress stank , like pets were sleeping on it ... it was something stronger coming from under the sheets.... I communicated everything to the stuff... small things like clean better the shower and replace the mattress could make this place 4 or 5 stars I really hated it because of that !!! I wasn't able to relax because of the shower and the mattress smells... I was worried about catching something...

So well located that as soon as you leave the hotel you’re milling around with masses visiting the Uffizi down the block, and the Ponte Vecchio on the other end!
The hotel itself is nice, the room and bathroom quite large for European standards, the breakfast satisfactory and the staff friendly and helpful.

This is a really lovely - slightly quirky in a good way Hotel. Very close.. walkable to everyYwhere we wanted to see. Slightly off the main paths so quieter than many. Lovely views over the River Arno and Ponte Vecchio. 5 mins walk from Gallerie degli Uffizi. The upstairs roof top restaurant is provided by the excellent Osteria delle tre panche. Which serves the most wonderful Tuscan food with incredible rooftop views over Florence. Service was great. Reception booked our Taxi to the airport which arrived exactly as booked. Rooms are basic.. we took a travelling kettle etc. Fresh water provided every day. Comfy beds. Do use the Mosquito repellent plug in we found too late !!! Continental breakfast also had roof top views and had a lot of variety. You can walk from train station but the paths with cases arent easy .. we taxied for 12 Euros. Would use again and recommend.

As a relatively cheap option, it's good.
My room was somewhat noisy during the night, due to noise from the dining room above and poor sound insulation from the window. The bathroom was a little small and dated. But the staff were very nice, breakfast was good, and it met my needs. I'd be open to staying again.

A stone-throw away from Ponte Vecchio

We really liked the location, the service, and the restaurant (for dinner). We also didn't over-pay as we were visiting Florence during off-peak period (even though the city was bustling!). We struggled with the slow and tiny elevator as check-in and breakfast were on the 5th/6th floor - although we were 'lucky' our rooms were only one floor up. Although the rooms were quite small and my bathroom was tiny, we didn't spend much time in our rooms. The view of the Ponte Vecchio outside our rooms was nice to have. The only major issue we experienced was with the lack of hot water in one of our rooms. (My friends had to come to my room to shower.) The staff did come to verify but the issue was not fixed during our stay. All-in-all, we had a nice stay and would recommend the hotel as it was clean and well located.

Rooms look nothing to what is on line. Very, very small, maybe the size of NY rooms, outdated, linens just okay, bathroom extremely tiny so if your over 5’11 maybe 180 lbs the shower will be a very tight fit. No vanity, no room to open a bag and I’m not talking a big traveler bag.
Elevator a little bigger than a bathroom, mostly used for bringing in linens, food, water etc.

Five flights of stairs to check in. Very noisy area, pounding on pipes or working on hotel while we were there around 10-11 pm at night.

Rooms are very, very outdated.

One of the cutest hotels I have ever stayed at! It had character and an old charm about it. My boyfriend and I chose the hotel last minute during our stay in Florence and we’d happily stay here again in the future. They also held our luggage for us when we checked out so we could explore a bit more of Florence before catching our train to Rome.

Location is epic! It is noisy until midnight so def not a hotel for children, but for adults (especially those who don’t go to bed early) it’s just perfect! Great view from the beautiful roof terrace. People not staying in the hotel were coming to use the restaurant up there as they had heard or read about it but it still wasn’t crazy busy. Lovely smart interiors and great for money. Beautiful hotel!

A beautifully appointed hotel in an incredible location with a very friendly, helpful staff! Breakfast was more than expected in a beautiful dining room. Reception is on the top (5th) floor and is accessed either via stairs or a very small elevator. Navigating the floors with your luggage can be a little challenging as the elevator can only accommodate 2 people with their bags at a time. The elevator does not come to street level—so all luggage must carried up to the first floor (“0”). Not a problem, but perhaps a consideration for those who require assistance, especially if traveling alone. Any inconveniences are quickly forgotten once you have encountered the very accommodating staff, the adorable rooms and the jaw-dropping location! I recommend a long stay!

I’m surprised people rate the hotel as “wonderful.”
The hotel is located in a good area, with view of the famous “Ponte Vecchio”.
The staff is very nice and attentive. The breakfast is good. The room and decor look dated.
The room we stayed was very noisy! It looks like all the Trash Pick Up Trucks were there in the middle of the night picking up trash from the hotel and the restaurants in the area. Besides a bicycle station, where people come to drop them off at certain time in the night. The room was very cold and no heat. We used towels to cover the gaps in the window to keep the cold air away. Luckily they left extra blanket in the closet. The rooms have no heat only AC. The TV is very small and the volume is programmed to go to a certain number. You can’t change that. So, if you need hearing aids, put them in the highest volume to be able to watch TV.
It’s a hotel for young people who travel with back packs. Not recommended at all to elderly people. There is no doorman to help with luggage and people have to go one floor up on stairs carrying luggage and then take the elevator on the second floor to reach the lobby on the 5th floor.

The hotel is centrally located and gets and outstanding for that. No matter where we wanted to go it was a short walk back. However, know that this is the loudest hotel I have ever stayed in!!! I stayed in room 415 below the restaurant kitchen and across from a common bathroom that got a lot of use. There is so much noise until after midnight with the kitchen clean up and then again at 7am for breakfast. There was also random hammering on things in the building. So be aware of those before you book and enjoy your stay if you chose to stay here. I would probably stay here again but know I wouldn’t get much sleep.

Booked a stay at this hotel and had no communication with what we found when we showed up on the day. Found that the hotel had overbooked and wanted to transfer us 20 minutes north of the location of this hotel. This hotel is right next to the ponte vecchio. I had to complain to hotels.com and the front desk for them to finally accommodate us. They finally gave us a room after 3 hours of sitting around.

The Bathroom was so small. The shower tomb was 24”X24”at best. No mini fridge. No cold water or soda in room. We were told when we checked in as it was our Anniversary that had a special surprise. Well the surprise was no surprise. I would not recommend this property unless you want spartan amenities. The Breakfast was the only bright spot.

We lived 4 days with a flooded shower

We arrived to Hotel Hermitage to stay for 4 nights. When we arrived we were told that there was a leak in our bathtub so we couldn’t shower that day. They gave us a free glass of wine and we thought “oh well”. The next day after showering the water was leaking everywhere around the sink and base of shower. We mopped it up thinking it was just from us showering. We got home hours later and the flood almost reached our bedroom. It was everywhere.

We told front desk and they said they couldn’t repair it until the next day, but if they did repair it, we would need to be out of the room for 8 hours. We did as they asked. We got home to the following MESS (see attached pictures). Black water and the plumbers tools left everywhere. Dirty smelly towels too. We went to front desk where the lady was nice but she was working alone. So they had the cook go clean our room floor. It was absolutely disgusting. We asked for a manager and she informed me the manager would contact me the next day. We tried all day to get a new room or a Manager and nothing. Even the day after, no manager. Nothing was given to us. They “allowed” us to sit on the rooftop for a free glass of wine (I’d rather a bathroom) and we waited 20 minutes without being served.

t’s a stunning patio with grumpy servers who barely come to serve you. It was our second time there.

The hotel had SO much potential but poor customer service in the event of a problem. This hotel was very expensive. I’m so disappointed

Do not offer parking like they say. The top sheet of the bed was stained and dirty and when I complain they ask if the ones under neath where dirty. Then there was mold on all the walls and in the bathroom and all the rugs and the flooring were dirty. The room smelled like fish and the hallways were dirty as well and smell so strong of chemical you almost pass out from the smell. We ended up leaving and with in a hour and they still charged me for night. HORRIBLE PLACE TO STAY!!

All the staff members were so kind, accommodating, and friendly. When we missed breakfast, the kitchen/dining staff still offered to serve us a cappuccino and fresh brioche buns. The front desk were so helpful with scheduling taxi transportation. The cleaning staff were thorough with cleaning, as well as respectful of our belongings. The area is so walkable. But my favorite part is the view from their sitting parlor! It is so peaceful and breathtaking, and so charmingly decorated. I'm glad we chose this hotel.

Perfect location

Fabulous location for seeing beautiful Florence. Quite noisy and terrible internet. Perfect hotel if youre only planning to crash in the evening.
