Hotel & Staff were great. But Hotels.com failed to advise me before I booked that the restaurant and bar were both closed , during my stay. By the time I going out I could not cancel the booking without having to pay 90% of the room rate. Very annoyed!

Room was expensive, small and with an encroaching sloped ceiling. Staff took my request for wakeup call (5am) and taxi (0550am). No wakeup, instead they rang at 0530am and said my taxi was waiting. So, fail.
Bed was small but ok for comfort. Cleaning staff were helpful. Wouldn't return.

Pros: Location was incredible. Access to amazing restaurants, bars, laundry, grocery and the train system. Couldn’t have asked for better. The showers have great pressure and stay hot. I heard the breakfast was good, although very expensive. The cleaning staff were super nice and cleaned the rooms well during our stay. And most of the front staff was very helpful.

Cons: They may not give you what you asked for. As we booked two junior suites with the lofts and only received one, and that’s AFTER being told we were “in the junior suites” then “they don’t have junior suites existing on the property” to “we can only get one of your rooms fixed now and can switch the other to the junior suite tomorrow” to “the second one is unavailable” and finally, them telling Expedia we were in the junior suites (a lie) as only 1 of our rooms was a junior suite. So please make sure they don’t gaslight you and try to convince you that your room is a junior suite (400+ sq feet), when it’s really a regular room.

Final thoughts: Booking with Expedia is always an amazing experience. Because even in the face of an issue, they’re really good at making things right. I have proof of the room we were in, which was not the junior suite we paid for, but Expedia did right by finding resolution with me. I will always trust that Expedia will make sure to do the best they can when it comes to their customers.

You have to carry your luggage up half a flight of stairs to reach the elevator. Safe activated with a credit card. No insect net on window. Sauna is charged at 9 Euro per person! Quite impersonal.

Great Staff, Room and Breakfast!

The staff was great and the room was spacious, clean and provided coffee/tea/hot water kettle, which I always appreciate. I arrived at noon, and my room was available for me to check in early. Fabulous breakfast! The hotel is located near the city center, making it easy to spend time wandering, shopping and eating. The only thing that was troublesome was the incorrect information I received about the cost of the taxi/shuttle to the airport. I paid 50Euros rather than 15 Euros, and this was quite expensive for me. I would choose a hotel closer to the airport if I knew this beforehand.

Best to avoid

Check-in was 2 hours late. They gave us the wrong room. When I tried to change the room, they said the room we booked wasn't available. The staff did help and provided an extra bed that we had to place on the floor, since we were supposed to have a pull-out couch.

Normally I enjoy the Mercure hotels.
This property was very nice

HOWEVER, the power went out during the evening along with the heat and hot water. Although the property was aware that the heat/hot water were out, they did not fix the problem until approximately 10:00 the next morning.
When I approached the desk staff, they offered no compensation for the lack of heat or hot water.
VERY DISAPPOINTING!!

Shampoo dispenser was empty. TV was unplugged and required reset. Shower/bathroom was very small. Had no meals there, so cannot comment. Coffee station was sufficient. Nice hotel for the price.

Shuttle to airport or at least to Freising train station would be super helpful.

The staff at the counter were very friendly at check-in and I was able to park out front overnight for 8 Euro. The location was great - walking distance to center of Freising and the Cathedral. The room was nice, but had a faint odor of cigarettes smoke, which was most evident in the pillows. Otherwise okay. We didn't try the breakfast or other amenities - we arrived at 10 PM and left before 8 AM.

Don't dare coming to that site during summer!! As there is no air-conditioning, and when windows are open there is a lot of noiדe from cars and train - the room was very very stuffy. One simply can't breath!! There was a fan - making noise like a tractor - so we almost didn't sleep all night. DON'T DARE GOING THERE!!!

Our stay here was great. We only stayed one night during a layover. It was easy to take a bus from the Airport to the Freising train station and walk a few blocks to the hotel. We walked to a great dinner in town and also lunch the next day. We had the breakfast at the hotel, which was great. All in all a great place. We had a few mechanical problems with the rooms - minor things, but they were helpful. My wife liked the adjacent footpaths and access to the river trails.

Reception staff are generally unhelpful and unfriendly. Despite low occupancy we had to wait for a check-in although German visitors went straight to their rooms. Incorrect airport shuttle booking time from reception meant a rushed departure. The hotel is very comfortable, well located and clean. But the service is ....

This hotel is 15 minutes from the Munich airport by car. Rental return is easy and is situated between both terminals. If you plan to stay here and travel into Munich, the train station is a 10 minute walk from the hotel.
Room is very spacious for two people and paid parking is very limited.

Room was large but no air conditioning and fan provided was standing too far away from the bed. Otherwise it was clean and location convenient. Front desk staff could be less curt! Travellers are either exhausted from the long drive and need a place to stay for less than 10 hours before we catch next flight out. I don't need to be greeted with rudeness when we checked in in the evening after a long drive. Following morning's staff was nice though. That made our day !

Air conditioning in our room was not working. The temp outside was decent and opening the window would be awesome, but the train goes by every 30 minutes, which disrupts sleep. If you have a train disrupting sleep every 30 minutes, you have to have a climate controlled hotel to get a good night's sleep. I understand that some Europeans think AC is unnecessary but when you are sweating in your sleep and/or awakened by a train every 30 minutes, you have to fix something. Especially since this is listed as an \"airport\" hotel. If you are preparing to fly on a long haul flight, this is probably not the hotel for you. Also, this is not a business-friendly hotel. You can work in your room (if you can maintain connection to the internet), but there is nowhere else in the hotel to work. Only one working outlet in the lobby to plug in to. All of that said, the staff were perfect.

The hotel was good for a night or two as Freising old town is worth exploring. The female staff member at check-in was very rude when we arrived, merely shoving a check-in sheet at me and directing me to complete the sections highlighted in yellow. I did this but couldn’t remember my Accor member no. Her reply was “you booked through Expedia you don’t get points”. My response was “ I was only following your instructions”. She rudely directed us to our room which was in a building across the driveway. The staff in the restaurant did not speak much English but were very friendly and we managed to communicate well enough to be understood. The room was clean and reasonably comfortable but with one opening window it was quite warm.

Everything was pretty good. We especially liked the size of the room. The lack of an iron and ironing board in the room was a negative. Also, it was too hot in the room. Air conditioning would have been nice. We know A/C is not common in Germany. Wash cloths would have been nice. Probably the biggest issue we had is that there apparently is no access to the floor where our room was located without climbing stairs. One had to either take the elevator to 1/2 floor below or 1/2 floor above the floor our room was on in the annex building. We had luggage and that was a drag (literally). Generally though, good value for the money and located reasonably close to the Freising train station. This was our second stay there and we will probably be back.

One of the worst hotels in Germany

The Mercure website says \"AIR CONDITIONING\" there was none. The room was 30+ degrees.
No Air. If the windows are open in comes insects, Traffic and train noise.
We were charged 11 euros for parking.
I my 44 years visiting Germany this was the worst hotel experience.

We booked 3 rooms and chose this hotel as it was next to Freising train station as we had an early train to catch the next morning. We were all incredibly surprised at the accommodations for the price. Well beyond what we expected! The rooms were clean and comfortable with a great amount of storage space. The lobby was neat and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was a very easy walk to the train station. Would definitely recommend this hotel and book again.

Clean and modern to German standards. Did NOT like refusal of staff to allow me a gratis morning coffee in lobby. Because I did not order breakfast, I could not take a cup of coffee from coffee machine in lobby. BAD hospitality!!

They keep cost of 1 cup but lose guest forever. Idiot manager making this decision should be fired. Typical German rule-based calculation. I was quite insulted by this attitude - will not return.

The hotel was chosen due to the \"airport shuttle\" service. Only to find that you must reserve in \"advance\" although that was not disclosed nor was the amount of \"advance\" time defined. A taxi to and from the hotel which is also farther than is stated in the description is more than the cost to stay in the hotel. Very unhappy with the deceit that appears to be intended with this property to cause to select it only to find out when it's too late upon arrival that you do not get what is expected. Will not return to this property!

The hotel is about 7 miles from the Munich Airport. If you don't take the Shuttle (10 Euros one way) and you get in after a certain time, the cost for a Taxi is 25 Euros one way. Overall, it was a very clean, accomodating hotel. I needed help with my shower and help came within 3 minutes!

We chose this hotel as a last-minute option when we decided to be closer to the Munich airport for our early flight, rather than take the train in from Salzburg. It is clean and the room is a decent size. However, there was an issue where we could not turn off the heat in the room (in September) and when we requested a room change, we were told to simply open the window. However, there is a busy train line 30 yards away, so our choice was either be kept awake by the noise, or fitfully sleep in the heat. In addition, when we chose the hotel, it was because it appeared very close to the train station. It is not - it was about a 20 minute walk while pulling luggage.
