The renovation works on lobby area are extensive and inconvenient. Entrance to hotel further along and via side door. Up a flight of stairs to a temporary reception. Took ages to check in. Room ok, but aircond fan noisy. Clean room. Small bathroom. Nightclub downstairs is ok. Live music. How this was still £400 for one night stay I am unsure. The works finish before Christmas, they said. I have an office in Munich. Here once a month or 6 weeks. I’m back in Munich in two weeks but won’t be staying here ‘til 2026. Even then I’ll be checking prices.

Unfortunately the 1st hour we found ourselves, in our hotel bathroom which, flooded. Not exactly sure where the water was coming from but at one point the smell was a bit putrid. Clearly the issue had been overlooked as the hallway carpet was pre stained prior to us.
The issue was discovered whilst walking in the bathroom. A minor slip happened which at the time luckily didn't result in a serious injury but later we discover a muscle must have been pulled while I caught myself from not hitting the ground. I spoke of this to the employee who moved us to another room. He apologized, mentioned he’d let the manager know and thats the last we heard from anyone about our inconvenience. It’s not the problem but how you deal with it and they didn’t.

The rooftop bar is lovely, with a good selection of drinks, food and a scenic view plus it had a relaxing decor. The pool and spa area was a lovely, clean, well appointed area but it’s a bit unclear how to get to all the amenities.

I am a frequent customer at Bayerischer Hof and I am actually a fan of the hotel. This time the experience was terrible. The hotel is a refurbishment site (lobby etc.) and the room in the appendix that I had (the old facility) is not worth 3 stars (not even the minimum standards like tidyness etc.) are fulfilled. Therefore it is massively overpriced at these rates and I can only warn future customers unfortunately!

Staying at a hotel of the Leading Hotels of the World group never disappoints. Bayerischer Hof is no exception and is one of their Crown Jewels. Perfect location, spacious, luxurious rooms, focus on details and impeccable service are the reasons why it’s my first choice when staying in Munich

The Hotel is magnificent, The service is also excellent. However construction is an obstacle at the moment and a bit difficult to navigate the Hotel, which is huge. We got lost several times inside of the Hotel! I'm sure we saw parts of the Hotel we would never have known about as a result, so that's the upside. It's very beautiful, elegant and well worth it.

Over priced hotel - stayed one night pre cruise(recommended by company) nearly $1000 - with no breakfast included - close to Munich old part of town - but am sure there will be cheaper hotels than this around. Check in patchy room not ready - understandable but when went at post 3pm time told too busy now to show you around and to the room - not what you’d expect for price paid. Concierge very helpful with cruise pick up communication issues on both days. Hotel food extortionate $60 for Club sandwich - room lovely - as it should be for price.

The BH is an institution in Munich, however I was disappointed by my last visit for few aspects. To begin with, due to the on-going refurbishment, the check in and the entry lobby located on the first floor was rather a convoluted exercise. Also the staff wasn’t that attentive for an hotel of such lineage. It is a shame as I have fond memories of this hotel just few years back. I will wait for the renovation to be completed and will stay again.

Das Gebäude wirkt an manchen Stellen etwas angestaubt, was vor allem auf das hohe Alter des Hauses zurückzuführen ist – hier könnte man eventuell den ein oder anderen modernen Akzent setzen. Mein Zimmer (Superior-Kategorie) war sehr schön, geräumig und hochwertig ausgestattet, jedoch leider auch sehr hellhörig. Die Geräuschkulisse ist aufgrund der baulichen Gegebenheiten nicht ideal, was es schwer macht, Ruhe zu finden.
Das Personal hat jedoch alles wieder wettgemacht. Es war in allen Bereichen extrem freundlich, zuvorkommend und professionell – ein echtes 5-Sterne-Hotel-Erlebnis. Auch kleinere Mängel im Zimmer wurden innerhalb von nur einer Stunde sofort behoben. Die Sauberkeit war makellos und das Housekeeping hat einen hervorragenden Job gemacht.
Das Bett war sehr bequem, und die Speisen, die über den Room Service bestellt wurden, waren von ausgezeichneter Qualität. Insgesamt ein sehr gutes Hotel, das ich definitiv weiterempfehlen kann. This hotel seems to get more & more expensive, despite being quite ‘tired’, but we have remained loyal for the best part - mainly because the location is good for us and we like the steam room. The steam room is currently out of order. We couldn’t believe it. We would’ve stayed elsewhere and paid a lot less had we known.

The hotel was in a fantastic location, within walking distance to many popular landmarks! The construction in front of the hotel did give a little bit of a negative vibe to the exterior, but once you step inside, it's nice and well-kept. Our room was spacious and beautiful, and we really enjoyed our stay. However, there was one day when a housekeeper unexpectedly walked in while I was in the room—no knock or ring at the bell! She quickly realized and apologized before leaving. It caught me off guard, but overall, we had a good experience!

They were doing major remodeling on my floor and hallways are long and had these steel double doors that needed someone very strong to open. Would get an eerie feeling going down the hallways.

One of our two rooms had a ceiling leak in the bathroom. The second room was immediately next to a kitchen on the 6th floor and was inundated with noise and kitchen smells. The premier location cannot mask the property's desperate need for a renovation. Putting guests in a room next to a kitchen is a grift

Luxurious, But Plumbing and AC Problems
I wanted to fall in love with this hotel. The luxurious experience was nice and the rooms and hotel were beautiful. Restaurants and bars on site were wonderful. The staff was nice and attentive. However, we had issues with basic plumbing and AC the entire stay. The toilet in our room was broken and the first time we complained they never sent anyone until we reminded them the next day. They never got it working. Offered us a smaller, less nice room on the same floor. We never moved but used the bathroom in that room so we had to leave our room to go to the bathroom each time. The AC was broken in that room so even if we were willing to downgrade we would’ve been super hot. Then the AC broke in the entire hotel our last night. We got $45 back on our entire stay, which was a bit of a disappointing concession after spending thousands of dollars on a few nights. I was so excited about this hotel but sadly don’t think I could return after numerous issues with basic utilities.

The hotel wifi wouldn't work. Very odd.
The spa is having renovations but shower parts are missing in functioning area and the steam room 'smelt' (not nice) and had no steam. A steam room with no steam.
The bar at the back of the lobby lounge room was also closed.
I was informed the 3rd floor of the hotel is completely closed due renovations. The hotel definitely does need just that.

Enjoyed the gym overlooking the Frauenkirche, Rathaus and the snow covered mountains.
The only thing the hotel could need is a hot tub. They even have the perfect spot for that: on the rooftop patio just outside of the gym.

The location can’t be beat if you’re in town for a shopping trip or sightseeing. Very centrally located and easily accessible via car, streetcar or subway.

Beautiful vintage styled room in a classically elegant hotel. The room was lovely, clean, roomy and a cozy base for us for a cold week in Munich. The lounge was comfortable and it was a great home away from home to explore Munich from. The choice of restaurants was great and the bar was gorgeous.

We stay at the Bayerischer Hof every time we go to Munich. Maybe once every month or two. It isn't cheap, but the locatio is handy and it's what we are used to. A rather dated hotel, but it does the job. Paying for parking is a surrpise, especially with the cost of the rooms. The internet wifi isn't very good either.

I am fairly regular guest at the Bayerischer Hof Hotel. It is not the cheapest but it's a good location, has a pool and a steam room, and the bar staff are friendly!

This is a superior hotel … normally well above the price range I could accept… but I always wanted to stay here, as I am a frequent visitor to Trader Vic’s down stairs. But thanks to Expedia I hit it on a night were I could not say no and grabbed an excellent room rate to make it happen. Great fun in an elegant hotel with amazing staff.

We were a little early and they told us a our room is almost done and they would notify us. we tried to get some think to drink and eat at the hotel. the staff was so rude at the restaurants we ended up going in town. The room was still not ready at 3:00pm. Over all the service was just horrible, it seen they really did care about anything. I had my eight year old boy with me and in the morning the room filled with cigarette smoke, he keep asking why it smells so bad

Great location but quite mediocre
Room service overpriced and food mediocre at best. Housekeeping promised to bring water at turndown service and never returned. AC was noisy at night and needed adjustment after night one. Check out chaotic - I had requested my bill be prepared with half an hour’s notice and it wasn’t done. Also asked to have luggage brought down and reception didn’t have the bags so I had to run upstairs to grab my suitcase only to realize the bags had been brought down. Poor organization although staff was friendly enough.

Another one night stay at the Bayerischer. Expensive at £530 each single room (we had a room each - biz trip). The Atrium area was closed for private function so couldn't get to the bar. But we like this hotel, so not a complaint. I just wish it was cheaper.

The hotel is truly magnificent. The staff greeted us upon arrival was most helpful with our car, luggage and check-in. The room was beautiful. Very clean, fine toiletries, comfortable towels, robs and slippers. The bed was divine.
The only issue was that the bathtub wasn’t working properly. The hot and cold water taps were stripped and we had great difficulty filling the tub and turning the water off. Our room was suite 235 and we forgot to mentioned the issue upon departure to the front desk . The other issue was our room never cooled to a comfortable level. Again, we failed to bring this matter to the attention of the front desk upon departure.

The hotel has different style rooms. Make sure you ask about that when you book, otherwise you can be disappointed. It happened to us that we first had a room that didn’t fit our taste at all (very minimalist), but they were very nice and accommodating and changed us to a room with a different style (more traditional, colonial style).
The rooftop bar/breakfast area are superb. The buffet is very good and the view onto the city beautiful. Make sure to sit outside. We also liked the pool and spa area on the rooftop of the hotel.
