I cannot emphasize enough how much we enjoyed our stay at Hotel Mamela. The rooms are MASSIVE, newly renovated, and the pool is SPECTACULAR. Even more impressive though is the outstanding service this hotel provides. The concierge went above and beyond to help us make reservations and honestly we would have missed our ferry and therefore our flight back home without their help in the morning. The service alone I think should make this hotel be ranked 5 stars. Thank you for making our stay in capri unforgettable!!

Very Poor service! First of all, we arrived and we weren’t met with a friendly greeting or a fresh bottle of water for that matter. They didn’t bother to give us any hotel info.. ie) pool, gym etc…The staff never greeted of when we walked by the lobby. We had a beautiful spacious room with a small terrace and loungers, but there was loud banging coming from the floor above us. We were really frustrated with the water pressure from the shower… it was literally trickling water…. I couldn’t get the shampoo out of my hair. I mentioned this issue to the front desk and the young man at the desk said he would leave a note for the manager..When we checked out they wanted they charges us for extra water, because we were only allowed 2 bottles per day .. so I mentioned the shower issue and the other person at the desk said that he didn’t see any note and told me to email the hotel about my issues… I did and have not received a response yet. Our breakfast was included with our room rate, but there wasn’t a great or fresh selection, and that was also lacking service. This type of treatment and service is not acceptable for Capri, at a beautiful and expensive hotel. It’s a shame because the property is beautiful. Our friends were staying close by at Minerva, and we went to visit for lunch and aperitif . We were met by the staff and owners with a very warm welcome, and we weren’t even their guests. This hotel lacked service and hospitality big time.. not acceptable for the price

Charming hotel at a price

Be prepared for 7min walk to the hotel on arrival no cars access. Arrival pleasant welcoming. Unfortunately 1st room had to change due to foul drainage smell from the shower. Recommend to add air freshener to rooms. Second room upgrade slightly better but still smell. Food was good standard great sea view got to be best hotel with best view. Convenient to most restaurants and town centre.

Although quite expensive, this hotel is worth it. We received first class treatment from the moment we got there. The pool area is exquisite, and the staff takes care of everything. The food at the restaurant was amazing, and dining pool side is the best thing about our trip. Breakfast is so good and included in your stay. And the location is great, the Piazetta is a six minute walk. We spent several days in Rome before we got to Capri, and it was so hot and crowded there, so this hotel on Capri felt like heaven. Make sure to arrange transfer from the ferry to the hotel. And if you have lots of luggage pay to have them transfer it to the hotel, since the hotel is in a non-traffic area. You have to walk from the taxi drop off to the hotel. It’s about 10 minutes.

My wife and I came here for our honeymoon and we couldn’t have asked for a better hotel. It’s a 2 min walk from the city center and all the shops, while hiding away from the masses of daily tourist. The hotel itself is super clean, and well put together per Capri theme. The room had a great view of the water and surrounding nature. The breakfast was solid, and service great. The pool area really made this a great experience, always beds available and employees to help set up with towels and umbrellas. Great views and great music. We were very pleased for 5 nights!

Great Capri hotel

We loved our 3 night stay at Hotel Mamela. The staff was very friendly and accommodating when we have a few extra hours on our last day, we hung at the pool and were still given all the same luxuries. Breakfast was delicious, they have eggs, meat, fruit and a plethora of fresh pastries. The view from breakfast was incredible. We stayed in a sea view room that was very clean and had blackout curtains. Only consideration was that our room was warm at night even with some air conditioning, and it was on the smaller side.

The hotel is located in a quiet off the beaten path area of Capri so it was silent at night but only a 5 min walk to the main square. We walked everywhere but one restaurant.

The hotel helped also us get day of reservations for dinner and navigate the island. Their luggage porter service was incredibly helpful as someone took our bags at the port and delivered them to our room. We could not have gotten them there ourselves without much difficulty (I read about this in reviews but didn’t understand until I got there).

The pool was beautiful, quiet and never full. This hotel was incredible and worth the price.

For starters, the pictures do not do this hotel justice - it is stunning! It is in a beautiful location surrounded by quaint walkways just beyond the square which has an array of designer shops, restaurants, etc, so everything you need is close by.

As for the property, the staff was so so amazing!! Everyone was very kind and extremely accommodating. I felt very welcomed at all times. In fact, I was on vacation for my birthday and the staff went absolutely above and beyond to make it a special night for me and I am sincerely appreciative!

The only thing that was a slight bummer, was not getting to utilize the transportation service, but I guess there must have been a miscommunication, but definitely not enough of an issue to bother me.

Truthfully, as an avid traveler who consistently deals with discovering new hotels and enjoys doing so, I don't think I would ever try to find a different hotel to stay at while in Capri. Highly highly recommend!!!

Oh my god, BOOK THIS HOTEL. I don't care what your other options are, nothing is more gorgeous, serene, and perfect than Hotel Mamela. From the staff, to the rooms, to the infinity pool overlooking the ocean...I cannot stress enough how immaculate and perfect this property is.

The property is situated away from the central buzz but 10 minute walk to anything you need. Hotel Mamela made us fall in love with Capri and we will be back!
