I was assigned to the annex across the street at No. 10. As I was only staying for one night with light luggage, I requested a higher-floor room. The annex seems newly renovated, and the room was simple and clean. However, the bathroom had no hooks for hanging clothes, which felt like an installation oversight, and the hot and cold shower controls were reversed.

Despite these minor issues, the breakfast was impressively generous compared with other small hotels, and the service was genuinely excellent. Overall, a pleasant stay with standout hospitality.

Greeted very well by reception on arrival, room was spacious and clean and bed was comfortable. Conveniently situated for Padddington Station as it was only a short walk away.
Didn’t have time to have breakfast, so cannot comment on that. Wi-Fi was a little iffy at times though. All in all great value for money though.

After reading the negative reviews were were scared. But we were wonderfully surprised. They replied to our email asking for a room with life access. We arrived after 9 PM. Figo was at the reception. What a friendly, charming, professional receptionist! Our room was 233. A spotless room with a spotless, spacious bathroom. The room was small but we knew that plus we travel with very small luggage. The only reason I am giving 4 star instead of 5 is the absence of wifi after 10PM every single day. We stayed 3 nights. The problem is the owner/management. Because of their excellent location and relatively low price they know they can get away with almost anything. The receptionist Omar should be rained to be like Figo and the management should listen to the customers. Do NOT toast the bread beforehand, make internet accessible even when a lot of people sign on. Not very difficult things to do but they need to listen to the customers.

I had a terrible experience at this hotel. It doesn’t even deserve one star.

Below are the issues I experienced during my stay:
1) A major disturbance occurred between approximately 2:45 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. on November 20.
2) During this time, 3–5 guests were involved in loud arguments and what appeared to be a physical altercation directly outside my hotel room. My door was kicked, and I was extremely frightened. I was staying alone, which made the situation even more unsettling for the remainder of the night.
3) The police became involved, highlighting the seriousness of the situation.
4) When the disturbance began, I attempted to contact the hotel reception multiple times, but no one answered, and no assistance was provided.
5) As a result, I was unable to sleep for the rest of the night.
6) At checkout, the receptionist was unprofessional and impolite. He did not ask about my stay, nor did he acknowledge or apologize for what had happened.
7) Most disappointing of all, Alexandra Hotel refused to refund my one-night stay, stating that the “current rules and restrictions for your booking apply,” which I assume refers to the booking being non-refundable. However, the hotel failed to provide a safe environment, acted irresponsibly, and let the customer down. I found their response rude and completely unacceptable.

I do not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Poor facility with high floor rooms for double bedrooms. Unsafe, if fire started on ground floor as smoke rises and is deadly with poly acrylic carpets which exhumes cyanide fumes! l feel unsafe there. l will not be going back there after my last booking!

Had items stolen from my room. Nothing big so didn’t bother saying anything, but a nice fountain pen which clips to my note book which I’ve had for years was left clipped to my note book in the room. This was suddenly gone with a 4 pack of gum. - Had to catch a train so no point raising, items were not misplaced or forgotten elsewhere.

Check in was simple and esay. Room was clean, and cleaned daily by friendly staff. Towels were replaced every day. Bathroom was showing a lot of signs of neglect. Toilet seat not fixed, so moved when you sat on it (even after asking for it to be fixed) which made it awkward as toilet positioned in a very confined space, a few tiles were cracked, very dirty and dusty behind the sink unit and rust on the radiator. Also, there was nowhere to hang the bath towels after use. Breakfast was adequate, but a bit bland. Staff prepared toast and left it in piles, so was cold when you got to eat it. Only full fat milk available for cereal, a choice including semi and skimmed milk would be better. Staff were helpful.
Great location for Paddington station and plenty of nearby shops and restaurants. Also, great position to visit Hyde Park.

The Hotel is in a very good spot close to Paddington station, in general everything is fine, but... the elevator isn't working and the stairs are not safe enough specially the stairs going to the 4th floor, they are small and steep, barely enough space to carry a small suitcase up there.

Plumbing in shower was clogged-water was spilling out and it became disgusting. Too late for any maintenance to be done. We had to wait until the next day. There was no option given to change to another room. Breakfast was mediocre…a woman was handing out cold toasted bread. Need I say more.

Hotel location is perfect everything is very accessible. At reception staff was quiet rude no hospitality no welcoming attitude.
At arrival staff asked me to fill a card i found on card alot of details asked but no GDPR reference put there so i write it down my data should be dealt with confidentiality and must not be used anywhere else. Receptionist (male) start questioning me on this WHY U PUT THIS WHY WHY this is hotel not shop etc. I just politely said when i agree to all of your terms and conditions why you start questioning me with one sentence that i put to secure my side.
No bath matt. Bath towel was on floor as bath matt. No tooth paste. TV screen was very old.

A last minute booking. Room was dirty and unclean. Toilet was green. Grouting needs a good scrub. Booked SUPERIOR double room. Got a room with 2 beds. Cleaner came into room whilst we were out. Only changed 1 bed . Breakfast included but disappointed. Toast is pre made so not hot. Orange juice looked mouldy. Croissants but cold. Not a pleasant experience.

Ok I stay at a lot of hotels in that street. What’s good about this one is they have a little breakfast included. The staff was very rude though. Saw me coming in and left reception, on his mobile. Came back as I called him and fussed about my signature, “I won’t accept a scribble, can you do your signature properly”. I’m nearly 50. My signature is what it is. I had to show my drivers licence picture of my signature for him to accept it. The room was in the basement and was super noisy. Bathroom light kept flickering. WiFi was awful in the basement,

Very good value for a hotel so central in London - so don't expect luxury! But good-sized twin room, big and clean bathroom, good fan and TV etc...Plus tea & coffee. Breakfast fairly basic - but again, you get what you pay for. Perfectly fine hotel for an overnight London stay, so convenient for Hyde Park concert and also Paddington, great location - hence night time noise!

Overall it was fine. I find with London you get what you pay for and I only stayed the night. Sure, the buildings a bit dated and it probably needs a bit of TLC and modernisation but it’s a budget friendly option. For £60 it done the job. My shower was hot, the bed was average, wifi would not connect, the room fan (excellent idea on reflection) worked but was full of dust and I can’t comment on the food as I didn’t bother (personal choice). I’ve stayed in worse for more money.

This was my first stay at this property, and immediately I saw how inaccessible it was. Stairs everywhere with no ramps or lifts, staff that are quite unapproachable, and the simple fact that accommodation is spread between different buildings (something I did not realise when I booked).

Security was great, though I recognised the interiors were incredibly dated and facilities were barely equipped (eg: enough milk for one tea, no towel rail in the bathroom, bin bags that were clearly repurposed shopping bags).

I also noticed that there was a landline which was not connected and had no way of being connected, and the shower was both faulty and mislabelled resulting in a couple of near injuries.
I loved, however, that there was a wall-mounted fan close to the bed!

In terms of the area surrounding the property, there isn’t much of a view. At half past 4 in the morning, I was awoken abruptly by loading vans being incredibly noisy outside. Roads are typical for near-central London, and thankfully the central building for breakfast, check-in/out (etc) was very close by.

Speaking of breakfast, the offering was decent if could find it! Pity the staff weren’t more approachable.

While many of the faults outlined above did not directly impact my specific stay, it says a lot about the care and attention given to the properties and is important for people to know before booking. My property was a roughly decent place to sleep but took “budget-friendly” to its most extreme meaning.

The hotel was no frills, a fan was provided in the room which was needed given the warm weather currently. Room was clean and tidy.
Self adhesive hook on back of bathroom door kept falling off… those things never stay attached.
Didn’t go down for breakfast and there was an aroma of cigarette smoke around the building, not sure if someone has/had been smoking in room previously.
