Staff were extremely helpful with info on where to go and how to get around. My room was very spacious. The pool was pleasingly warm - the jacuzzi was having some problems - not hot. Steam room and sauna also worked great. Short walk down to the beach to catch the bus. Initially very hard to find on Google map walking! Overall, definitely recommend.

Large comfortable room. Good air conditioning.
Pool area on the roof was nice, but the bar there is always closed.
Lots of noise, in common with everywhere else in Paceville. During the day it is from construction work, and at night from the partying youths outside. Not the hotel's fault, but did spoil the stay.

The hotel was lovely, clean and very central to the madness of Paceville I don’t think people realise this when booking hotels in the paceville area, one of our party had an extremely grumpy security guard banging on be door after a noise complaint ( it was 7pm an she was on FaceTime with her mum) other than that we had a great time.

Something else to add we where not warned of the building work outside our window that starts at 7am every morning.

Comfortable room and a nice bed... air conditioning worked and did drown out some of the 'night time street noise' !!
Our bathroom needed a refit, peeling walls and towel rails hanging off.
Very noisey due to all the building work in the immediate area, great view of the cranes working around the hotel while you were in the pool !!! Also while we were there the road outside the hotel was closed, which made it really difficult for the taxi's to get close.

The interior of the hotel is appealing and my room was large, well styled and comfortable.

Refrigerator in my room did not work and was not fixed or replaced despite maintenance staff visiting my room to check it.

One towel was frayed, a dirty spoon was in my room when I arrived and was still there when I checked out despite my room being cleaned. Used glasses also not removed.

Breakfast was not available in the hotel, but instead served at another nearby due to ongoing refurbishment, this was not mentioned on hotel website or Expedia booking page.

Immediate surrounding area is being redeveloped with building and roadwork. Hotel is well located for main bus routes, shopping and restaurants.

Overall stay was fine but did not meet expectations.

My room was not cleaned properly, i had a kleenex sitting on the bottom shelf of the night stand and it was never tossed away. The cup in the room was not washed properly as there was still lipstick stain on side of cup, so it was obviously just rinsed very mildly.

There is only one outlet source, making it difficult to charge multiple items, or to use hairstyling tools. I had to request for an extension cord, as the outlet was too far from a mirror for me to do my hair using hairstyling tools.

The hotel is conveniently located for visiting other parts of Malta and there are some good restaurants within walking distance. The rooms could be good but ours had a faulty TV, a socket not attached to the wall properly, the lamp above the bed was broken, one wardrobe door didn’t close properly and the lighting in the bathroom was insufficient. The pool is good but the music is too loud for relaxation and the staff surly when asked to turn it down. There was also an afternoon where two older men were very obviously ‘entertaining’ two younger women … not really appropriate? The whole hotel needs more TLC and a stricter guest policy!

The location is perfect but that is all they have going for them. When I arrived they didn’t have a room and were mad I booked one online. They tried to downgrade us from what I paid for but eventually provided the room. It had ants. The noise level is off the charts and it had ants. They said they validated parking but then charged €13. Will not stay here again.

Emergency stay so not a problem for me for one night (self propelled wheelchair)

Could be a problem /affect stay because wheelchair access is only to reception and from corridor (with tight right-angle making difficult if assistant pushed wheelchair. Cleaning equipment stored in hallway making access more difficult. Access to rooftop bar tight turn and again only possible to order if you have a companion.

On plus point the staff were very helpful and happy to do what they could to assist.

We have been going to this Hotel since 2017 and sad to say the rooms are exactly the same no updates at all , I asked for a microwave they said they do not have one at all in the hotel, I asked for wash clothes for the shower they also did not have any .

Great location and a good 4 star hotel. AC was good, bed was comfy and room was large. Building work outside created a lot of dust, but in a room without a balcony the noise didn’t affect us. There was, however, a hotel arranged party all night on the roof terrace that kept us up until 3am with a lot of non-hotel guests coming and going.

The whole area for 500 yards around the hotel was a building site! You had constant dust, noise from drilling and vibration from lorries and diggers all day long. Loose rocks and broken glass as well as torn safety fencing laying on access pathways and in the road outside which the public had to manoeuvre around which was difficult to say the least. We were never informed of any of this when we booked our holiday and if we had known we would certainly have chosen a different location ! The amount of construction work taking place around the resort area of St Julian’s is truly depressing to say the least !

When booking this hotel we were not told that roadworks and construction was going on all around it. The main entrance area was all cordoned of and unsafe to walk through to get to hotel. In fact i went over on my ankke on the uneven makeshift path and injured my ankle and couldn't walk for days. I am still dealing with the pain now at home. Outsude your balcony is buildings going up and also noisy. Not a good view at all. Also when rooms were being cleaned there was no milk or coffee replaced and had to go get stuff most mornings and never enough towels left when changed. The rooftop are is nice but definitely not peaceful with crane noise and constructive going on. Definitely would nog stay here again unyil all work around the hotel is complete. You can also here a lot of noise from nightclubs etc a few streets away. Hotel itself is nice and beds are comfy but to much going on around it.

Great hotel! Very central in St Julian’s and easy to get around. Friendly staff and the rooms are very spacious. The pool on the roof is a great touch to the hotel but have limited sun beds so keep an eye out for busy times. Only downside would be that there are road works directly in-front of the hotel, making it difficult to get to in a car and the surrounding pavements aren’t in the best conditions (be careful at night). I would recommend to stay here.

My kids and I arrive early, so I liked how they let us leave out bags in a closet. She made sure to get the room ready right after the next guess.. I just didn’t like all the ants on the floor. Other then that the hotel was in a perfect location, but if you are a light sleeper then this hotel might not be for you, due to all the noise at night time all the way til like 4am. I will be coming back to stay here !

The property is extremely tired and in need of an upgrade. The coffee bar/bar in the lobby was never open. The hotel is in an area where there are tons and tons of bars that cater to bachelor/bachelorette parties so if you aren’t into 72 shots for cheap, this isn’t the area for you!

I enjoyed my stay here, the hotel is ideal if you want to be in the heart of everything in paceville. Bars, restaurants, shops and the St George's bay beach is also close by.

I would personally recommend the junior suite the rooms are spacious, modern and also come with a balcony. The rooftop pool is perfect during the day and there is a bar next to it.

Housekeeping and the staff at reception are really friendly and make your stay as comfortable as possible.

The noise from the street below can be very loud mostly on evenings into the early hours. However given its location in paceville this is to be expected as its more of a party area.

We enjoyed our stay at The George Hotel, arriving Christmas Eve during the pandemic. The room was clean and comfortable, and met our needs well. We used the kitchen to re-heat our leftovers, so it was handy to have.

Some nearby businesses were closed for the holiday, but plenty were still open. We enjoyed the festive Christmas lights in St. Julian, and also our walks near the waterfront.

The front desk staff are absolutely lovely and helpful when you approach them directly with a question, but that's the only good thing about this hotel. Lobby looks beautiful, very large, many places to sit...which makes it especially unfortunate you can't grab a drink at the bar there (closed indefinitely.) No help whatsoever with luggage, not at any point, any time arriving or departing, despite being spotted, struggling, by no less than five different staff persons throughout. Room was terribly shabby, stains and holes in the loveseat, two light fixtures and the phone didn't work. No complimentary water in room. Very limited spa services, despite being billed as a \"spa hotel,\"two different days asking for a mani/pedi, a service they list on offer, was told they don't do those. Very disappointing stay, was very glad to move on another previously booked hotel.

The staff were all really welcoming, friendly and helpful.
We stayed in a penthouse room and it was a lovely space.
The breakfasts were well presented but just Luke warm if that.
The outdoor pool area was great fir a chill and dip with fantastic views.
I would say the room was a bit tired and the cleaning staff was a bit slap dash. The large rug in the room was pretty grubby and would be better to just remove it. And the sun beds on the terrace were broken, however this was rectified.
All in all a lovely stay with wonderful staff but just a couple of points that could be improved.

Easy check in, room was ready. Staff knew about all the bookings and knew about the VIP Expedia credit and explained how it can be used. Lifts was speedy. Pool was great however a tad cold even with the 31c heat blazing. Pool bar open and available. Towel replenishment was slow at times. Expect the usual to rust hogging the same sun beds daily, you know the ones. Overall an excellent stay, staff excellent close to everything and bonus next door to IMPasta, very nice and cheap too.

Fine - but take note

Only one pool was open rather than both and the rooftop gets quite crowded so nice to have that second option if you want to swim. The bar manager at the rooftop pool was so rude and unhelpful though - avoid him if possible!

The front desk staff were amazing though - so friendly and helpful with recommendations for dinners etc. The room cleaning was a bit shambolic on two days (left me with no towels ever though they were hung up) but fine.

Overall an ok stay but be warned, this is in the heart of the party area of the island and probably better to book somewhere else if you’re after a more relaxing/quieter stay.

Generally, the hotel and its staff are wonderful. I think, especially during this difficult period, the staff went above and beyond to make my stay as great as it could be.

My only criticism is that the room had no available power sockets so I had to unplug lamps to charge my phone. None of these sockets were near the bed either which is not a massive issue, just a little inconvenient when compared to other hotels.

All-in-all, I had a very pleasant stay and would happily revisit again.

Great place to stay right in the middle of St Julians Bay. A nice quiet place if you want to be within walking distance to a small beach, close to main points for cruise and activity pickups, close to a bus that gets you to all main towns like Valletta. The room we stayed in was quite big, the view we had was just of buildings. The shower was quite large, but the water pressure in the shower wasn’t good. No bath. The tv had a lot of different channels and the mini bar had nothing in it at all which is good if you’d like to fill it with your own treats. Food places were closes as well. Overall lovely hotel, we’d stay again.

The hotel is really nice but has some unforgivable flaws. The beds were not comfy at all. I have a hard mattress at home but this one was like a rock. The air conditioning didn't quite work. The roof top pool was quite filthy. Moss at the side of the walls. But my biggest issue was the extremely overpriced breakfast. The rooms however were super clean and the soundproof windows were greatly appreciated. Great location too.

We arrived at 10pm and were checked in, went to our room to find that the extra bed that I had requested via email in advance for our daughter had not been made up. This is particularly annoying when our booking would have stated 2 adults and 1 child. We were also right next door to a rowdy group of young men so asked if something could be done about it. It took 2 more hours to relocate us to a quieter room and make the bed up. We got off to a bit of a bad start but they did rectify the situation. The hotel is lovely, clean and staff were friendly, the location was good, but would probably go further around the bay if we were to return. Its a stones throw from the clubbing scene but just far enough to not hear it. The breakfast staff were very good with our daughter who has Coeliac Disease (another thing that we emailed in advance about but they were not aware of) they brought her gluten free cereal, bread, cakes etc. Got very annoyed whilst trying to relax in the spa and a group of young men wanted to play volleyball and take video of our daughter - the spa seems to be subcontracted out to a chinese gentleman who had no clue when I was trying to ask him to speak to the group. We chose a Penthouse Suite so that we could give our daughter some privacy and it was very spacious. The room was equipped with a fridge which was ideal for stocking up on cold drinks. There was a large balcony with sunbeds. Even though there were 3 of us, the room only had 2 of everything.

Nice hotel with spacious rooms. It’s in the heart of Paceville which is centrally locates and near many excellent restaurants and shops. It’s also near many bars catering to young teens (drinking age is 17). The bars are packed at night with spillover into the streets. Thankfully the sound is blocked by the rooms but important to be aware that this is all around you. The pool is small and in need a maintenance but found all the staff to be friendly and the location to be great.

Very good hotel, should be a 5 star instead of a 4 star. Only improvements that could be made is that guests shouldn’t have to go on the website to see the room service menu, there should be menus in the hotel rooms. The menu should also be broader and include “quick/fast” foods if that makes sense. But overall, amazing hotel..definitely recommend.

The breakfast was really good and stayed open until 1030. Location was great. The AC was not good and every night we would wake up sweating. We would change the temp but it would change back by itself. And curtains didn’t fully close so it would be super bright in the room by 6 am.

Appears to be one of the best hotels in the St Julians area. Very big nice room with a balcony. The pool is nice but a little shabby and not very big. The location was vibrant and quite built up, very good for nightlife and nice restaurants. Although the surrounding area was loud with our balcony doors shut we couldn't hear any of the noise at night. It was about 30 mins away from Valetta and has a bus stop very near by. Overall very happy we stayed here and would return again.

The hotel is in a great location. It’s very close to Spinola bay but also the beach and lots of bars/restaurants. The rooftop pool is great but you need to get there early to get sun beds - one afternoon we used the indoor pool instead which was also lovely. The property is positioned approx. two roads away from nightclubs but is easily avoided if that’s not your thing. Some guests complained about noise during the night, but we never had this issue. Great position near a bus stop that can take you all around the island.

One of the best hotels in St Julians

A very good hotel with super friendly staff. One of the best hotels I've stayed within the St. Julians area. Stayed at many of them.

Not the best.

Check in very slow, lost my booking information.
Breakfast very average and started at 7am which was u usual as most hires start breakfast at 6:30am. Frye’s eggs could only be cooked at 08:00.

Horrible brakefast

After one night we went down to the brakefast and the amounts are very poor, the quality of the vegetables and fruits is low as you compare it with the local coffee shops & restaurants, no cheeses at all but some butter to spread on the bread, several cold and hot juices are served. I must say it seems clean but most of the eggs and food is tasteless.. I do not recommand it. Aside all that, The pool looks amazing and the water are clean but it is very very small. Staff is friendly and welcoming and overall stay is calming and comfy.

Lovely hotel, shame about check in

The hotel is fairly clean, with a lovely rooftop pool. However, the food is overpriced and not very nice at the pool bar and unfortunately the hotel had overbooked so we have to stay elsewhere for our first night which was not ideal on a short break. The staff did rectify this by offering us £50 off our bill (the difference between what we paid for our room and what the room at the alternative hotel cost I soon figured out) then after some complaining they upgraded us free of charge.

Great Hotel!

Booked a room for a 4 night stay. Double beds were more like Queen beds, so big and comfy! Hotel was very modern, clean, room was MASSIVE and breakfast was lovely. Hotel is in the heart of the party town of St Julian's so avoid if you don't like that kind of atmosphere. Short walk to bus stops and there lots of places to eat close by, even a few next door to the hotel which was very convenient! 20 mins from the airport as well. Malta is beautuful, great stay overall!

Needs improvement

Shower was a nightmare to operate. Aircon would reset in the middle of the night to a higher temperature, meaning that you'd wake up in a sweat. The room condition could have been better as there was damage that they should really keep on top of.
Also noise! I was on the top floor near the lifts, so I'd get noise from the lift, and sometime whistling from some tanks on the roof.

Also, my legs were bitten during the night! They were under the sheets, so what does that tell you.

Great hotel, but a bit pricey!!

Very nice hotel, as seen in the pictures. Good stay with no surprises. A bit of a “bitter taste” the fact that we were paying 250€ per night without breakfast and, when we asked for a late check out (13:00 instead of 11:00), the receptionist told us we had to pay extra 10€ per hour (i.e. €20, as per hotel policy). Internet connection was a bit bad too.

Looks exactly as it does online. Spacious, modern, well-kept rooms with good standard of cleaning. The hotel lobby and rooftop pool were lovely. The pool is only small but you don’t really need much more. All the staff we met were very friendly and helpful. The location is great; close to the shore and lots of lovely restaurants nearby. Bus stops just a minute away. Only downfall was the hotel breakfast. €15pp for buffet style which was slightly disappointing as can get cheaper/nicer breakfasts nearby. Other than that, a lovely stay! Would stay again!

Decent hotel, good amenities nearby

The hotel was of a pleasant standard. The staff were all super friendly and very responsive to requests. The breakfast buffet was quite a let down, especially if you are vegetarian or vegan (despite the fact that we were told that there were plenty of alternative options). In saying that however, it was convenient to be able to eat in the hotel before venturing off for the day - lots of the cafes/restaurants nearby don't open for breakfast until later. Room cleanliness was fine however there were a few occasions when the drinking glasses weren't replaced or the wrong number of bath / face towels were replenished. There is also oddly no ventilation in the bathroom. Minor but noticeable. The pool area is pretty small but we never had any real problems getting beds and there is a cafe by the pool which although doesn't offer the best spread, does come in handy. It's also worth mentioning the \"spa\" and indoor pool area. This entire area was like a sauna. There doesn't seem to be any ventilation, especially in the changing rooms. It feels like you need a shower, right after having one! The quality of the spa treatment which one of us had was disappointing. Only baby oil was used (i.e., no aromatherapy oil), another member of staff walked in during the treatment to speak to the masseuse, and the style of the massage was rushed meaning that it was more practical than relaxing. The hotel is in a great location close to restaurants, (but just far enough from noisy bars) and transport.

Good hotel and location

The hotel was a good middle location to shopping, casinos, bus stations and beaches. Bed was comfortable and rooms were clean but halls smelled musty. They had a real good breakfast with plenty of options. The staff were always helpful.

Good hotel, close to most amenities

Staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Breakfast option stated continental so a pleasant surprise English breakfast and freshly cooked omelettes were available as a choice.
