Room is clean, near a subway. Bed firmness is good, 2 pillows (contour pillow and a soft pillow). However, there is 1 room with erratic fancoil's themostat, cold/warm air supply got cut off every now and then. I was able to borrow an air purifier from the hotel staff to improve the air flow for that room. Hotel staff is friendly and approachable.

The staffs are very accomodating and supported us with everything we needed. I even ñeft my bag inside the train with all of our passports inside and the hotel staffs helped us getting it by delivering it to the hotel.

The rooms are also wonderful. Thank you for hosting our stay in osaka 😁

My partner, sister and I enjoyed staying here. There was plenty of space for the three of us as the room had one double bed, a separate room with two singles and a third room with one single. The shared kitchen/ dining area was greatly appreciated and the extra space was super convenient for our group. The location of this hotel made it convenient for us to walk rather than take the train (this was greatly appreciated after being in Tokyo) and is so close to Osaka Castle! Also a fantastic takoyaki and okonomiyaki stand/restaurant just round the corner! We will definitely stay with MyStays again!

We arrived very early after a short trip from Kyoto and they let us into our room early. The room was spacious and had a kitchenette. That was the end of the good points. There were lots of issues. Where to begin! The hotel was old. Nothing had been updated in a long time. The hallway outside our room wasn't even completely indoors. It was unfinished with a concrete floor and looked worse than a university dorm hallway. There was always bags of cleaning stuff or something all over the hallways outside our room even though there wasn't any room cleaning. The windows were very old and cheap and there was NO soundproofing. We could hear normal conversations on the road outside from our 2nd floor room. Vehicles were very noisy as they passed. Fortunately it wasn't on a particularly busy street. There weren't enough towels ... only one set for each of us. And there was no toaster in the kitchen. But the staff did provide both a toaster and more towels immediately when we asked. All of the staff were very helpful and attentive. But everything in the room was lower quality. The towels were cheap. For dishes there were only two small plates and two bowls. The bathroom was veyr cramped and poorly designed. The only mirror in the unit was in the bathroom but there was no power outlet in the bathroom. The lights sometimes didn't come on for a while. The wife was often very weak.

This is a budget hotel that has a decent amount of amenities depending on the room type. The dryers in the laundry area don’t do an adequate job (so you’ll need to head to a nearby coin laundry to dry your clothes) and the rooms are very much out of a 1980’s Japanese condo (dated furnishings, stove, bathroom, etc). It’s one of the more affordable options in Osaka, and decent for a family, but you should manage your expectations accordingly.

Overall the hotel is fine but it could stand to equip each apartment with a bit more cutlery and upgrade the stoves. In the morning when making breakfast the apartment often smelled of gas because igniting the stove was difficulty possibly because it was old. Otherwise the hotel is great, comfortable beds and pillows, clean, and convenient to train and food! I would RECOMMEND for families esp. because the rooms are spacious.

We arrived much later than expected but we were greeting by a friendly overnight staff that helped us check in with no problems. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Also a great location. Easy to get to everything from here as a centralized train station is very close. Definitely would stay here again.

We LOVED staying here. We were very pleasantly greeted by the front desk staff who explained everything we needed to know about the facilities. The area is quiet for the most part, though there is a fire station nearby, so be aware of that. It's fairly quiet though :) There is a Family Mart almost immediately to the left of the hotel, and plenty of subway entrances. A fantastic stay!

4 days of a 13-day trip visiting family

Ours was a late booking for 4 days during a 13-day trip to visit family in Osaka. The non-smoking suite with bedroom and 'living room' with kitchen facilities was a little dated but everything was clean and worked and we enjoyed it. However, anyone over 6 feet tall should pay attention to the low door and ceiling heights! We had a balcony which faced on to another tall building and kept our room void of daylight and no outlook, but we were out from early till late and weren't bothered by the lack of daylight in the room. That said, the only criticism we had was of some disturbance from the room above in the early hours of the morning during the last two days of our stay, which sounded like furniture being moved and pulled across the floor, and lasted intermittently over a period of about two hours.

The property was a lot more “older and dirtier” than it looked in the pictures provided by them. The place was moldy and just gave off an eerie feeling, the bathroom sink paint was chipping off. The bedside had no sockets like normal hotels.
It just was not what we expected from a hotel in Japan, the room was very backdated. The place is more of a hostel than a hotel. The location is not that convenient to get around places. Would not recommend.

I liked the facilities, it has kitchen, several basic utensiles, separate rooms, air conditioning. The bathroom and shower could improve, it was unconfortable to take a shower, but the price is fare. You get what you pay. The metro and train station is a bit away, but still acceptable.

This was the first time I book this hotel. The staff, room, location and price was fine. Also liked the kitchenette feature. But shocked to find out there was no house keeping service even for a 5-day booking. This was not mentioned in the details. If I had known I might not have booked this hotel. Staff are very helpful but the lift is very busy and needs making bigger or a second one added. We ended up using the stairs most of the time. For its price per night it is ok but it needs a clean. WiFi box in kitchen was covered in dust.

We stayed in two rooms at Hotel MyStays. The rooms are very old and don't seem very clean. The rooms and the bathroom had an old smell to them. The bathroom also had cracks on the walls. It was also concerning that the bathroom may have started to mold because there was not good ventilation in the bathroom. Did not meet expectations. The photos make the rooms seem newer and nicer than they actually seem.

its very near Family Mart and 711 for daily supplies. And the nearly restaurants (Yayoi) was our go to place to eat.

The policy of not letting guests into their room until 3pm is excessive and unnecessary. We checked in at 8.30am and could have received the first cleaned room. Midday ok but 3pm ? I stayed there last year and it is much more run down than a year ago. Not cheap but no pcs provided,have to empty own carbage and no room service or towel change. Location good

No-frills hotel fairly near to central area

The hotel is about a 5-10min walk to Tanimachi-yonchome station, which is then a 10min train ride away from Osaka JR. Note that the hotel reception is only open from 8am-10pm. The facilities are basic, but the toiletries and amenities are sufficient. The room was spacious but a bit worn and dated. The beds were comfortable enough. The toilet was a bit small, even by Japanese standards. Overall, it served our needs.

Must be aware that MyStays hotels are \"weekly mansions\" rather than conventional hotels. Rooms are on the big side fir Japan and have kitchen and lounge - big plus! On the down side however, the rooms will not be cleaned during your stay, you have to dispose of own trash, and you take the towels to reception if you want to change them.

Best described as a \"weekly mansion\" rather than hotel. Room was big, contained cooking facilities and big lounge area with sofa. However advised on check in that the room would not be cleaned, we had to empty our own trash and if we wanted to change towels, we would need to go to reception. Any change of bedding would be charged for.

plenty of space and everything you could want to cook for yourself and relax.
bed was too hard for me and i awoke with painful stiff muscles.
we really enjoyed the room and would of enjoyed the balcony if a table and chair were available to use.
it was big enough to do so.
if you want an apartment type room for self catering then this is a great place.
some lovely bars and restaurants are very close by and it is a lovely quiet area.

Great Home Base for your Stay in Osaka

Our stay at Hotel MyStays Otemae was born of an emergency situation (our accommodates in Kyoto fell through and the city was booked solid), but we couldn't have been happier with where we ended up. Less of a hotel than short-term apartment living, HMSO was perfect for our needs. Our suites were huge, with a full kitchen and comfortable beds. Free wireless internet was great throughout, and the coin-op laundry on the first floor was very handy.

For those who have small budget but dont like staying at hostel, this is a kind of hotel you looking for.
This hotel is relatively cheap compare to the set of ''hotel''
The room is quite small (given u book the cheapest room) but it is well-equipped with what u want.
The hotel location is in a walking distance to mini-mart(Family Mart and 7-11), Subway, Foods(Sukiya, McDonald), and Osaka Castle.

OK stopover for a few days

The hotel is a little old, and the lift was under construction when I was there.
The hinge of one of the bedroom door was slightly off, too. Following up with a few renovations here and there and it'll be a perfect example of what it is like to stay in a flat in Japan like the residents do! Overall, it does equips itself with all the amenities that makes a hotel stay convenient and pleasant to stay in.

Overall, a great hotel.

Rooms are small so don't bring loads of luggages. It's comfortable, clean and tidy. Since there is no room service, how the room stays during your time there is up to you. You'll need to throw away your own garbage, ask for more toilet paper and change of towels can be done at the front desk. The front desk goes to sleep at around 10pm so if you need anything, you'll need to buzz them.

Hotel condition is: not maintained for years. The pictures are excellent but inside looks ugly. We came as a family with 2 kids. They don't have chairs and pillows for kids: it was only 2 chairs, 2 pillows and 2 very small beds in 2 bed room apartment. They told that there is no extra pillow in the hotel and they don't offer extra beds. There is no parking in the hotel. Bath room is very old and kitchen too old. There is constant noise from nearest fire station. The staff is very good (except manager) and trying to do their best. The smell of the laundry is spreading into whole small lobby.

It was so bad given the premium pricing we paid for. By the way, I didn't sleep well for 2 nights. The 1st night already made me want to leave and stay another place but due to the high costs already paid, we didn't.

Here are the list of items to look out for (*unfortunately these are all negative points...I managed to list some because there are limited characters for me to write about their long itemized bad reviews):
1. They have a strict policy of maximum 3 persons to a room (*although on website I saw can cater up to 7 people)
2. No extra pillows. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? The entire hotel only have one pillow per bed. I am a person who needs to sleep with a bolster and without the extra pillow, it is a disaster.
3. Toilet flush didn't work. Water keeps flowing.
4. TV channels - don't bother about it as there's only one English CNN.
5. Air con - one of the most irritating one ever. It switches on and off (an eco mode). One moment warm, another moment (*within a min or two) it becomes cold. Well...it is a budget hotel with a budget air con system right?
6. Toilet, again. Have you used the airplane toilet before? Their toilet reminds me of an airplane toilet.

No, I will NOT recommend anyone to stay in this hotel and yes this is the worst review I had ever given so passionately.

The location is not conveniently within the train station reach and this hotel is located in a not so prominent spot so your cab driver may have a problem unless he uses GPS.

Very dissatisfied.

I booked this room via Hotels.com. I was VERY clear that we needed a room for 2 adults and 2 children. I explained that we were visiting my husband who is working in Japan. This room offered 2 separate rooms, 1 bed in each room which was what I hoped for. However, when we checked in, the hotel almost didn't let us stay because the room was only for 2 people, not 4, and their regulations don't allow 4 people in that room. After traveling for 15 hours, we didn't need the stress of this. On the second day, I went to the front desk to ask if we could have another pillow for our bed - there was 1 SMALL pillow for each bed so my husband and I had to share and it was rather uncomfortable. They would not give us another pillow, stating that they don't have any. I find it hard to believe that they have precisely 1 pillow per bed and no spares. Please know that I am not a high maintenance customer. We asked for nothing else from the staff during our stay, and we cleaned the room afterwards, including dishes and taking out trash. I will never stay in this hotel again.

Well equipped hotel adjacent to the Osaka Castle

A well equipped hotel with kitchen.
Bathroom is a little bit small but it's ok.
Hotel is located within walking distance from the Osaka Castle and about 5 minutes' walk from the nearest subway station.

I would stay again if I visit Osaka again.

Cosy aparrrtment-style hotel.

Me and my friend stayed at Hotel Otamae for few nights. We were very surprised to see that our room were like a small apartment with 2 bedrooms, living room and kitchenette. Very well furnished with all basic appliance, several air conditioning system, TVs etc. Subway station wasn't so far, direct to Umeda or Tennoji, one change to Namba.

Good location and spacious room

The room was quite large compared to other places I have stayed in Japan. However the water pressure was so strong the shower head would fall out of place, which made showering quite difficult. The location is very good with several train stations nearby and a short walk from Osaka Castle. Overall the room suited our needs for sightseeing and was comfortable.
