We stayed during the last week of expo so not many options - saw this had decent reviews so went for it. Of all the hotels we stayed in during our trip this was the least pleasant.

Cleanliness - went to plug the drain in the sink, and my hand hit a giant ball of phlegm from the previous guest. I almost lost my lunch. The carpet in the room was so dirty we didn’t walk around without slippers on, and there was hair everywhere, including bundled into the folded towels. The hallway walls were very dirty, nothing a quick wipe-down wouldn’t fix. Overall not a comfortable stay from a cleanliness perspective.

HVAC switched from hot to cold throughout the night and blows directly on your face, despite following the posted instructions to prevent this issue. The vent also was really dirty, so blowing dirty air on you while you sleep.

The window in the room was frosted, so it felt like we were in a dungeon.

Free laundry though, if that’s something you need on your trip.

I was expecting a clean hotel per Japanese standards but In our room 502, the wall had stains. This could easily be wiped but I was surprised to see so many stains. The toilet base needs some cleaning. The carpet on the 5th floor near the elevator had a big stain.
The staff though is friendly and nice.

It is close to two stations: Kitahama and Sakaisuji Honmachi. Nice restaurants and small shops around. Its on a quiet neiborhood.

Cleanliness can be improved, carpets are stained and old, our bed cover had very *odd* stains as well as on the walls. We asked the bed cover to be replaced, and we sort of ignored the stain on the wall. Except for that, the room was ok.

Good and helpful staff, the cleanliness needs work

We have stayed in different hotels in Osaka and another MyStays. We’ve been disappointed with the cleanliness of the room. The EcoPlan concept is great, but only works if you give the cleaning staff enough time to clean the room properly for the next guests. The cleanliness was well below the Japanese standard. We always tell our friends about how immaculately clean it is everywhere in the hotels in Japan. This hotel does not fall into this category. The staff was great and helped within their means to arrange a room change the day after we arrived. The room was better, although a lower category (standard double vs. superior queen), but still the cleanliness was not up to hotel standard. We booked the superior queen initially because of the bigger size, but this room was so tiny that we had trouble moving around. The only place where you could open the luggage was right in front of the entrance door, there was no place to put clothes away. The standard double room we changed into after the first night had a different layout and was much more comfortable than the other one. We stayed in smaller rooms in other hotels, but the superior queen (even though it ought to be bigger) felt much smaller and was not functional or convenient at all due to the layout of the room. I’m not sure if we would choose this hotel again if there are other choices. The area where it is located is great though!

Hotel of good value

Reception staffs are very helpful and without problem in commnication with English.
Location near subway station, walk about 5 minutes and with many small restaurants nearby. It is mainly a commercial area, so quite after office hours.
Room is clean and good maintenance, larger than most rooms in Japan, especially the toilet.
The only downside is a construction site nearby, and working noise started in the morning.

Room was kinda small but expected it. Good move to place the amenities at the common area to reduce wastage. The hotel is located at quite a quiet location, with most shops closed (probably due to new year), so it felt quite too dark and quiet/dangerous to walk back alone (luckily I'm with my hubby).

I have always been satisfied with the service which is both courteous and friendly. The rooms are compact but clean and comfortable. Within walking distance are small restaurants and a Starbucks going toward Sakaisuji Honmachi station.

Our Hotel room is nice, but once you inspect the T.V rack, and the window curtain, you can obviously see the dirt and some oily stuff in the TV rack. We also noticed that there house cleaner is a foreigner, maybe there a lack of training on there part! But overall it was a nice stay

We booked a non-smoking room but got there and got a smoking room as they said they had no more room available... Regardless, waited a bit longer and went down in the evening and got a room change :) The room was very clean, tidy and big enough size for hotels in Japan. Pretty close to the train and other popular locations.

Our used coffee cups were not cleaned on the first two days of our stay. Having read my note in the room, the attendant still failed to do so. On top of that, at breakfast I almost drank into a cup left with a clear pink lip on the brink. Its breakfast buffer was a rather mundane one.

Hotel MyStays is cheap and accessible to a lot of tourist spots in the area. Pick the room with a queen sized bed as there will be more space for your luggages.

The food in the hotel restaurant is also very good. It offers large servings and 10% discount for those staying in the hotel.

I won't stay there again & can't recommend them

The hotel was fairly comfortable with descent size rooms for Japanese hotel, small but acceptable. Local area was also good with enough restaurants and shops around. There are a few things about the hotel that I did not like and so I wish I had stayed somewhere else. We had two rooms traveling as a family and it is partially my fault for not asking for it, but the check-in staff should have had more sense and should have put us closer together. We had the very last rooms at each end of a hall. To make matters worse there was no direct room to room calls. Every time we had to go through the front desk give them the room number and the name of the party in the other room and wait for them to check that info and then make the call. On the last day I was in a hurry to wake up everyone in the other room and finally gave up on the front desk, got dressed and walked over to knock on their door. VERY ANNOYING. Another problem was that since we would go around site seeing and it was hot we would get sweaty and we typically take two showers, one in the afternoon after site seeing and one in the morning after we woke up. There was no shower curtain rod (it was embedded in the ceiling) or hooks or anything to hang up the towels to let them dry like all the other hotels we stayed at. We had to take them in the room and spread them out over chairs or night stand which made the usable part of room even smaller. Overall we did not like this hotel at all.

2 subway line within reach & stayed 6 nights

Good location 6 mins walk to station. 3 convenient stores , drugstore & many eateries. Arrival with luggages take lift Exit 15 to street level & diagonally is Exit 12 which daily will use to downtown. But leaving to airport just carry luggage down Exit 12 as is in middle floor. Lift only to lowest level so not practical. My advice for ladies who love to shop with 2 big luggages opt for bigger room.

Very happy guests.

This is a clean hotel very close to the subway in a business district part of town. Only two subway stops from everything downtown. The staff is very helpful and prompt to take care of any issue or request. They clean the room and change the sheets daily (unlike many popular hotel chains). My only issue is the hotel WIFI comes in and out. Very easy fix just call the front desk your first night and theyll install a private wi-fi router in your room to use, which solved our WIFI problem right away. Highly recommend this hotel. My wife and I really enjoyed our 5 night stay here in Osaka.

Perfect Location for Osaka!

We loved our stay at the hotel! The place was clean and the staff was very accommodating. They helped us make reservations at restaurants because we could not speak Japanese. The location is VERY good with a LOT of REALLY good places to eat within walking distance. We would walk and get breakfast or coffee close by, then come home and get ready for the day and hop on a train. We ate at a number of local small shops a few blocks from the hotel. Some of the places had the best ramen, sushi, yakiniku, and yakitori I have ever eaten in all of the times i have ever been to Japan. The train was about a 5-minute walk away and only 1 or 2 stops away from great shopping and popular food locations like Dotonbori. Id HIGHLY recommends this hotel if you're planning to stay in Osaka. We would totally stay here if we were to come again. The rooms are small but it is typical for hotels in Japan. There are a smoking non-smoking floors. We do not smoke and stayed on a non-smoking floor and did not smell any smoke from the other floors or rooms. The staff was great and helped us a number of times and called places for us to see if they were open and to help with reservations.

Decent class hotel surrounded by choice of eateries & convenience store. Nearest subway is about 6 to 8 mins walk away. Suggest toilets in room be fitted with hooks to hang clothes and the pantry area be fitted with a light as we could hardly see when making beverages.

Nice hotel in a local area

Located in a quiet neighbourhood the hotel is a short walk from both Kitahama and Sakiasuji Honmachi stations, the hotel is a quiet alternative to the hustle and bustle of Osaka central. The twin room I had was spacious and comfortable. The hotel staff were extremely friendly as well. We arrived early and left our bags with reception and upon returning were checked In immediately and our bags were waiting for us in the room. There are numerous small bars and restaurants close to the hotel and various convenience stores. Dotonbori, Osaka castle and other attractions are a short train ride or even a leisurely walk away. For the price it’s a great hotel.

Disappointing on soany levels

Stayed at same chain in Kyoto..liked it. This one is NOT as nice..or new. Location FAR from subways and trains..there is another one near Hommachi..better location. Tiny rooms..staff barely speak English. Smoking floors. Lots of Chonese tourist hroups..all loud and impolite!
if I hadn't paid advance, would have switched to another hotel

I Had an enjoyable stay here. The hotel staffs were very friendly. We came to the hotel early and we checked in the luggage first. After we returned to checked in at the late evening, we were happy that they had brought our baggage back to our room. The hotel is walking distance to the stations. Friendly & helpful staff. Locates in between two subway stations. Not the most convenience location but it is decent enough. Many 24hrs convenience stores and Japanese style fast food places within minutes of walk. Room with big window but frosted so can't see outside. There isn't much to look at anyway. Nicely facilitated hotel. Room is small (as expected) but good enough for small family of 2 to 3 with comfortable layout.

Surprisingly good ethnic food nearby!

Nice, quieter change of pace from Japan's core city centres. Still fairly close to the necessary JR lines for getting around. But the surprisingly delicious treat were the non-Japanese restaurants nearby. Amazing fish tacos, fantastic Indian-Nepalese food...And many more we didn't get to try. If you've had your fill of neon lights, Panchinko sounds, and sushi/ramen, this is a nice change of pace.

A great hotel in the middle of everything

Stayed here for a 9 day holiday. 20 minute walk to Osaka Castle and 30 minute walk to Denden town. An excellent place to relax after a busy day of being a tourist. Rooms are clean and the staff are courteous. Highly recommended.

Not much to do in the local area. Room was larger than most in the area but the bathroom was tiny. WiFi service was poor and the nearest train station was a 5-10 minute walk. Beds came with memory foam pillows, room had carpet floors with a long desk & safe. Window glass was not see through, and windows pushed out no more than 6in. Free amenities in the lobby, cheap breakfast (~1k yen) Great parking.

This hotel isn't really close to Osaka's main attractions like Dotonbori, but if you're using a JR Pass, you can connect to the Osaka subway at Tenma Station. From Tenma Station, it's a 10-minute walk to Ogimachi Station and then you can take the Sakaisuji Line to Sakaisuji Honmachi, about three stops away. It takes about 30-40 minutes to get here from Osaka Station.

This is a very clean hotel. Though the rooms are small as expected in Japan , we have a king size bed. The laundrymat on the 1st floor has allowed us to wear our clothes not worrying that clean clothes will run out. The wash and dry are free, you just have to,pay ¥100 for the wash powder.
