Great stay at Urbain!

We had a great stay at Urbain. It was conveniently located by the train station and many restaurants. The space was small but comfortable with all the amenities we need. The welcome (non-alcoholic) drinks in the afternoon were well appreciated.

Excellent service and a great breakfast buffet at a great price. A smoking hotel so residual smoke smell in the room is expected and just took about a day to clear out using the AC and air freshener provided.

The rooms are tiny. Two people cannot even walk passed each other. We had to book a smoking room because it was the only one left. I was under the impression it meant you can smoke on the balcony or smoking area, but it was inside the actual room therefore the room absolutely stunk of cigarettes. The bed is way too hard and pillows sunk in. I’d wake up in the middle of the night with a flat pillow. Had a really bad neck and back for the entire stay because of it. Free breakfast was ok. It’s free so can’t complain. Free laundry service is great. Great for local businessmen, but definitely not for holiday goers.

Close to Hiroshima Station

I picked this hotel because it was near the Hiroshima Station. I did not want to stay near the Peace Park as dragging your luggage on the street cars is discouraged. The hotel is relatively new. Staff was helpful to store our luggage until the 15:00 check in time. The breakfast is listed as continental but they had everything a normal buffet breakfast has. There is even a soda machine and soup machine that you can access 24 hours a day. I microwave is available too. Rooms were clean and the air conditioning is independent, meaning you control the temperature in each room. Some hotels have a central system that they do not turn on until it gets hot or cold.

It is close to Hiroshima JR Station

It is close to Hiroshima JR Station. It is within a 5 minute walk with luggage. Leave the east exit, pass by the Sheraton Hotel and keep walking along the main road. When you see a small children's playground, you can find the hotel next to it. The hotel looks like a residential building because the corridors are in an open area. The bathroom has no heater so it felt cold when I used it. The breakfast was basic but you can have bread, eggs, soup, coffee and tea.

First visit to Hiroshima

I was delighted to discover, when I arrived in Hiroshima, that the hotel was only 5 minutes walk from the Central Station. This meant it was easy to access not only the trains, but also the three alternative \"loop\" buses available for tourists in Hiroshima. There was also a good range of reasonably priced restaurants close to the hotel. The hotel itself was very good, with rooms that were a reasonable size, given that Japanese hotel rooms are often very compact. Breakfast was buffet style, with a reasonable selection, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom facilities good.

Convenient location, good for a few nights

Stayed here for 2 nights. Very convenient location close to the station, staff were friendly, free breakfast was good. Rooms are very small but comfortable for a few nights and very clean! Plenty of amenities.
We didn't bother unpacking here, so our bags weren't really in the way, but it is a small room so be aware of that if you need space to move & unpack.

Stayed 2 nights in a single room. Room didn't have a lot of space but good enough for short stay. Good location as less than 10mins from Hiroshima station. Also where sightseeing bus starts which is free for jr pass holders!

This hotel is in a great location, very close to the main Hiroshima train station and a good walk from Hiroshima Castle. The room was great and the bed was bigger than most hotel stayed in Japan. I love that they provided a jinbei pajama set that I actually wanted to take home but sadly was not allowed, lol. They hotel service was great and the breakfast buffet was a small selection but had a few good options. I would definitely come back to Hiroshima again and to this hotel.

Hotel is 5 minutes from Station and street cars so fairly convenient.
King size bed which was good but hard against wall which made getting out for the person against the wall difficult when other person still in bed. It is a small room so little room for storage or anything else because of the bed size so everything had to be done whilst sitting on the bed. Superfluous small sink in bedroom for filling up kettle but would have been better with more shelf room.

Free Coffee and soup all day in reception area and free WiFi in bedroom.

Only 5 minutes walk from the North exit Hiroshima station. We stayed for 2 nights with 1 day excursion to Himeji castle and another day to Miyajima. It was great to be close to the station. The room was tiny, but it'she expected in Japan. I didn't buy breakfast at the booking time, but it turned out that it came free to all guests. The breakfast food was normal Japanese food, but I don'take complain when it'she free! A nice touch was 24 Hour coffee and soft drink service at the lobby. We get coffee every time we passed the lobby.
The lobby breakfast area was small and tight. That would be my only complaint here, but a minor one.

Good location if you need to be close to Hiroshima station and if you're there for a short stay. Would suit people travelling for business more than guests on holiday. Breakfast is basic but decent. Breakfast ladies were very nice and helpful.
Receptionists were nice overall, but one of them was extremely rude. I had read very opposite opinions on the customer service before booking a room in that hotel so I suppose it depends on what receptionist you speak to.

One of the best hotels I've stayed at in Japan.

The room and shower are great. The bed is comfortable and there is enough space in the room.

The breakfast was good and there was a lot of options. The hotel also provides free soft drinks and coffee all day. You can wash your clothes for free as well.

The hotel is located 5 minutes away from the JR station, which was very convenient.

Great value for your money, I highly recommend staying at this hotel.

Hotel good location near Hiroshima Train Station and malls. Building design is excellent allowing free circulation of fresh air from top to bottom and sides of the building. Stayed in Hiroshima at this place, which was good value for money in a relatively good location about 10 minutes walk from the Hiroshima station. The room was fine, but was pretty tight for room. The breakfast is included and is pretty good. There are also free laundry facilities, which was great, but there were only 2 washing machines and 2 dryers, so had to wait. The staff were not too friendly and came a little bit of a shock, especially after the great service elsewhere in Japan, but otherwise would recommend this place.

Nice little hotel, only an 8 minute walk from Hiroshima Station (also a 15min walk to Zoom Zoom Stadium!). Once we got over the \"where's the room\" first impression, we found the space to be more than adequate. The shower was awesome, the room comfortable albeit small, and the facilities perfect. Breakfast was included and a great buffet. Also included was free access to the washing machines to do our laundry - a blessing after traveling for a while. There were other amenities like a public bath/sauna that were included but we didn't have time to enjoy. The hotel is a 7 min. walk from the Hiroshima train station. Overall, an excellent place to stay.

I had reserved a non-smoking room, but none were available when I arrived so I had no option but to sleep in a smoking room. The room absolutely reeked of smoke and was truly disgusting. I also found the breakfast inedible. The food was cold and poorly prepared. I've stayed in many hotels in Japan and have had good or great experiences with all of them except this one. You have better options.

Stayed on the ladies only floor which has complimentary sample packs of mask, skin lotion, hair essence, etc. Room was clean and the shower was a nice change from the usual unit bath. Room size was very small, couldn't open two suitcases at the same time.

This hotel is located close to Hiroshima station. The rooms are tiny very tiny but they are exceptionally clean. It's the cleanest hotel we stayed at during our vacation around Japan. Breakfast included a Japanese style buffet and throughout the day drinks were complimentary. The free laundry use was a huge perk as well.

The only downside is the wifi can only be access in the lobby.

Convenient location, compact but complete

We spent 3 nights at this hotel. Due to the size of the room, we had to book 2 rooms. Other than that, we had a wonderful time. The hotel is a quick 5 minutes away from the north exit of the Hiroshima station, fairly painless to wheel the luggages around the safe and peaceful neighborhood. The staff was friendly; the English pamphlet was useful to provide precise directions to the 2 key Hiroshima attractions. The room was clean and adequately equipped. The free internet in the room is by hard wire only. You can get around that to get wifi by using a compact access point. Otherwise the wifi is only available in the lobby. The hotel also offers round the clock free drinks and washing machine and dryers. The complimentary breakfast, starting at 5 o'clock, had sufficient varieties, good way to get a nutritious jump start. There are also plenty of dining choices within 10-minute walk. At the end of our trip, it was about 3-min walk to catch the airport bus at the station. A pleasant experience to close out our whirlwind tour of west Kansai.

Excellent Choice for Hiroshima Visit

This is a clean, functional, and reasonably priced hotel with more than average business hotel amenities; free breakfast (much more than just bread and juice); free soft drinks and coffee/tea 24/7, and free laundry (just need to buy or bring soap). Also noticed this time that they have rental bicycles (not sure the cost) for tourists. This was my fourth stay at this hotel for these reasons.

Close to Hiroshima Station, Decent Breakfast

The hotel was located within a 5-minute walk from Hiroshima Station, so the hotel was very conveniently located for our purposes as Hiroshima Station allows for easy access to the Peace Park and Miyajima. The hotel caters to business travelers as the rooms are quite small, so for North American travelers, the room may seem cramped. However, we felt that the room was worth the price paid given the prices of similar hotels in the area. It is also worth mentioning that the shower was quite nice as it had sprays for the back. One complaint is that the free WiFi was only available on the first floor dining area, which was inconvenient. I did not bother to try the WiFi there so I cannot comment on the speed. However, offsetting that, the complimentary breakfast was decent. It was composed of Japanese fare so again, those used to North American cuisine may not be accustomed to the food. I did not have a problem with the food and actually appreciated the opportunity to try different Japanese breakfast dishes (some dishes were obviously Chinese though). I also appreciated the fact that the beverage service (water, tea, coffee, soda) in the dining area was available for guests throughout the day, which was a nice feature of the hotel. There is also a family-run convenience store next store, which had very reasonable prices. Overall, the location of the hotel was a major plus and would consider staying there again.

Convenient location, small room

The Urbain Hotel is very convenient and within a few blocks from the Hiroshima station. It is also within walking distance of the Hiroshima Zoom Zoom Stadium where the Carps play. The rooms are very small, but the space is used wisely and it seems bigger than it really is. The hotel was clean, facilities were pretty up to date, and the staff was friendly. The best thing about this hotel is that it has a free buffet style breakfast where both Japanese and Western style foods are served. Unfortunately free wi-fi is only available on the first floor of the hotel. Another plus of this hotel is that it had an indoor onsen on the first floor.

Close to Hiroshima station, about 10 minutes walk. Room is small but fitted with modern tapwsre and layout. The main entrance door to the room opens outwards. Bathroom does not have a bathtub. However this hotel provides public bath. There is only 1 bath house available with gender separated bathing times. You will need to hand over your room key to the reception and they will provide you with a key to the bath house and also locker key. Free laundry facility is available (washing powder can be purchased from reception). The reception recommended a really good Okonomiyaki restaurant nearby so do not hesitate to ask them if you want to eat a particular cuisine. You can also borrow an international adaptor (deposit required)

Japanese bath such a treat!

Was pleasantly surprised to discover they had a public bath and sauna. Different hours for men and women. It was small but so clean and quiet. Wonderful and refreshing after a long day of sightseeing. The hotel was quirky and cool. The rooms were accessed by an elevator to an outdoor central core and the room doors were motel-ish. The actual room was quite small but very comfy. Lovely down duvet. The shower was totally space-age modern, but we never used it because we showered and bathed downstairs. The laundry is on the first floor but you need to get there early - high demand and only two machines. Not the quickest machines either! One super cool feature of this hotel is the free drinks. Free espresso/coffee/soda/tea, etc. from little machines in the large wifi room. Will say, I met one of the most interesting young couple ever at the laundry area - everyone congregates in this large area because it's the only wifi access. Although I hate not having wifi in my room, there's a lot to be said for the random cool conversations with fellow travelers. It's not super close to Hiroshima station, especially if it's raining, but it's doable. Would stay here again.

The hotel is located in the back side of JR Hiroshima station. Unfortunaly, most activities is on the opposite side. However, you could get snacks or grocery from the 7-Eleven convenient store next door and the supermarket inside the Gran Arc Terrace building. Free drink is availabe 24/7. The hotel also provides free simple breakfast

Fantastic

I have stayed in plenty of hotels in Japan. Of course the majority of the rooms are small, and this is no different. But the room was very modern. The hotel was very new. And the price was amazing. The price was great for a hotel here in America, but for a hotel in Japan it was amazing. I'll stay here each and every time I got to Hiroshima.

Great place to stay

Perfect. The room was small but that hardly mattered as we were seldom in the room.

The positives: Inexpensive, excellent breakfast (included), location was convenient to train, trolley, tour buses. Across the street from the station and 2 blocks from the hotel is Max-Valu Express Grocery (great prices). Free wash and dry machines in lobby. Free wi-fi internet in lobby.

The negatives: Wired only internet in rooms.

Tips: North exit from Hiroshima station, walk to main street, turn right, hotel is 4 blocks away. We brought a D-link DIR-505 portable router (many other brand are available) to convert wired internet to wi-fi in our room. We had wi-fi in our room!!! very easy and convenient.

Comfy hotel in Hiroshima

Nice business hotel close to the train station & along the main road. Easy to find. Found a shortcut through the children's park which made the walk nearer. Close to convenience stores. Very modern interior, liked that we were put on the non-smoking women's floor. The breakfast was pretty good & had a nice variety of choices. The rooms were a bit small for 2 people with big luggage but we managed. Many sockets located around the room so it was easy to charge our electrical things. Loved the standing shower. The staff were extremely helpful.

Very Comfortable super friendly and helpful staff!

I was on a budget and out of all the hotels I had stayed at this one was great for the price! The bed was soft and I found the design of the room rather cute, but the room designs can vary so I'm not sure what the other rooms look like. I stayed at alot of Toyoko Inns, this hotel was much better. And even though I made a slight mistake on my booking the staff set me up nicely they were very kind and helpful. They also have free laundry- .50yen for detergant if you need some. The breakfast was decent-I enjoyed the fact they had coffee and beverages you could drink 24/7 in the lobby as you read the news paper or hopped on the internet. Due note they have wireless internet but its only available in the lobby-I think (but am not fully sure) if they have a cord you can connect to in the rooms. Overall it was a great stay I truly enjoyed it there ^^

Very Satisfied

This location was easy to find, very comfortable, and had an excellent free breakfast included! Free toiletries and very clean room. They also kept our luggage for us before check-in time. Overall this was one of the best budget locations we stayed at during our three weeks in Japan. There is also a great Indian restaurant just a block down the street (you walk by it as you come from the station). Check it out!
