The place was what one will expect from a small compact room. Breakfast was satisfactory. Everything is tightly packed if that is okay with you concerning living space and eating area at the breakfast buffet. Laundry available. Service at the front was accessible at every hour of the day that was fantastic. Check in and check out was fast.

Single small elevator is inadequate. Long wait time during busy hours, if you can even get on at all the first time it comes. Also, difficult to find from Hiroshima Eki, even using Google Map. However, if you are willing to live with that, would recommend staying there.

The location to the hotel was great! If you know the underground walkway you are just minutes from inside the train station and all its amenities. I would recommend this hotel again and the breakfast was surprisingly good too!

Helpful and friendly staff. Usual tokoyo inn hard beds and pillow, unfortunately only one elevator in this building so expect to wait up to 5 mins to get up and down.

Very clean room, convenient location, and a good price. Two downsides: only one elevator so it can take a really long time to go up or down, and the stairs are closed unless it’s between 7am and 10pm. Other downside is that the bed is really hard- it feels like just a box spring, no mattress.

We really like the Toyoko Inn chain. Free breakfast included. The amenities are very good. Just be careful when booking, the smoking rooms are really for smokers, a lot of cigarette smell and it seems that the whole floor is for smokers.They kept our bags pre check-in and post check-out.

Excellent hotel , the service second to none. So close to Hiroshima station. A couple of minutes walk to the team stop which takes you into town within ten minutes. They kept my luggage, gratuit, I enjoyed my stay here. The rooms are small but this is expected in Japan. Solo traveller didn’t have an issue. Their wife is good too.

Very close to Hiroshima Station. Checking in is through a machine but there is staff to help you. They held onto our luggage when we arrived early and hours after checkout. They also called a cab for us. Good selection for (free) breakfast! Only downside is their beds are nearly rock hard. But I can sleep on anything after a long busy day. Rooms are tiny but we didn’t spend much time in them. This is our second stay in this hotel, due to cost and convenience.

The hotel's in a good location. It's close to Hiroshima Station, right across the Enko River towards the south. The complimentary breakfast was nice. The menu varies day-by-day, so it's not the same every day.
There is only one elevator in the hotel. And because of that, there's a lot of waiting when many people are going to different floors.
There was no space for my large checked luggage in my room. You'd have to awkwardly angle it on the narrow space on the floor, or simply unpack on the bed. Medium-sized and carry-on luggage will be okay.
The window soundproofing needs some improvement. I was on the 9th floor facing the river, and still heard noises like driving cars and traffic signal sounds.

Pros: Close walking proximity to Hiroshima stn. One block away from nearest street car stn to go to Bomb Dome. Cheap. Breakfast included.
Cons: Horrible stench in room and bathroom. Bath tub drain partially clogged and you can smell the sewage emanating from it. Dated building. One tiny elevator, have to wait a long time to get on in the morning.

Good Hiroshima hotel
I was under the impression that this hotel was closer. We had to get there in a round about way because there were no crosswalks that took us directly there. Once there, the room was bigger than I thought it would be. Unfortunately, it had one of those sink/tub combinations where you can only use either the sink or tub at any given time. Breakfast was good but simple. The staff was helpful and friendly.

My only complaint about the Toyoko Inn Hiroshima Ekimae Ohashi Minami would be that their beds are a little hard for my cushy Western tastes. The room, albeit tiny, was immaculate, and included a hot pot and teas, a safe for valuables, and a tv. The breakfast spread they put out in the morning was the most substantial one I've seen: onogiri, eggs, salad, various other foods I don't know the names of but were yummy, plus pastries/bread and coffee or tea. Their staff was friendly and helpful, language problems were minimal.
