great hotel very near Hiroshima Station exit 8. 7-11 just next to it. lots of food and shopppng. Staff are very helpful and polite. They even brought the luggage I deposited with them to the room. The toilet, bathtub and sink are all separated which is really convenient However I feel that cleaning can be improved further as i see mold spots in the bathroom. But i wont hesitate to book this hotel with a European flair again.

Beautiful and very grand hotel. The rooms are a decent size with a couch (or arm chairs) and room to move around. Very comfortable. The breakfast was not worth the cost. Too expensive. Have had much better at other hotels. Trains and Tram very close by.

Room was very clean and large and the staff were friendly and helpful. The biggest negative was the motion sensing light in the hall by the bathroom. There was no way to turn this off, meaning if you used the bathroom at night suddenly you are blinded and waking up everyone else in the room. Eventually we figured out that we could cover the sensor with a bandaid, but then the light was unusable.

Spotless and comfortable, rooms a little small

All very good and great service. Only qualm was that the room sizes were small. Fine for the short stay we were having in Hiroshima but I wouldn’t want to be staying there for a week or more. Excellent location for Hiroshima station and not too far from Peace Memorial Museum. Very clean and comfortable in general.

Beautiful historical looking interior. Food options were very limited though. Bed was comfortable, however, could use more pillows other than just one each. Close to transit stations and shopping. Staff are very pleasant.

What a fantastic property. The suite is laid out very nicely. Space for moving around and storage. My mom is larger in stature and disabled. She was able to walk around the room with her American sized walker and able to take a nice shower in the bathroom.

The hotel staff was very accommodating. They gave us the use of a wheelchair while on the premises. Everytime we walked through the lobby they made eye contact, gave us a nice smile, and bowed.

The hotel seems to be very old. Some of the furniture and decorations look antiquated, but comfortable and well kept. All the other parts that you would want to be updated like toilets and beds are very well kept and modern.

It's across the intersection from a department store and very close to Hiroshima Station.

Overall a VERY nice place to stay while in Hiroshima. I would stay here again!!!!

Unique reception decor

Uniquely decorated hotel, with suits of armour and a giant teddy in reception. Good location close to the main train station and tram. Breakfast buffet had plenty of choice in a lovely room with stained glass windows. Helpful staff arranged forwarding on bags.

The bed in our room wasn’t flat. I spent 2 nights trying not to roll onto my partner. This meant two nights of terrible sleep. Can’t speak for all rooms but the bed seriously needed replacing.

Otherwise, the hotel was fine. Close to the train station.

Nicely refurbished hotel

Older hotel that has room refurbished. if the lobby gives an old impression, the refurbished rooms are great ! You are welcomed in the corridor by a smell of fresh paint. The bathroom was very nicely laid out in 3 sepearate spaces : The toilet, the sink and finally the shower with bath tub next to it. Truly great ! Room was spacious too.

This is a lovely and well intentioned hotel. The decoration seems a bit older and the furnishings could do with an upgrade however for the price it was good value and for all the antiques there wasn't a speck of dust anywhere. I would not consider this a very high end hotel however it was reasonably convenient by tram to everything and good value.

Older style hotel with very small rooms.
Hotel insisted keys be returned to front desk each time you left the hotel and picked up again upon return. Made it very frustrating when the counter staff were attending others guests checking in/out and you had to wait to get your key back simply to return to your room.

Hotel is well located close to Hiroshima Station. The lobby is very nice but the rooms need new carpeting and some paint in the common areas.
Overall it's a good option for the money.

Small and Cheap Business Hotel

We've stayed at the Hotel Grand Intelligent in Hiroshima in September while to see the tourist sights in the area. The accommodations were small, old and spartan but clean and sufficient.

Not recommended if you want a little luxury

the hotel is 10mins walk from the station and staff are friendly. The room we were given was very tired indeed and small. For the same price we paid at Nagoya for the Hilton this hotel quality was very very poor. Old aircon, poor views apart from breaksfast room 75% Japanese 25% Western style food at breakfast by the way.

Good location with Pros and Cons

Depending on your needs, this could be the hotel for you. We like to stretch out after a long day of walking around town (genbaku dome within 25 minute walk) and partying, and our room at this hotel was tooooooo tiny for just the 2 of us. We only had room to open our suitcases on the bed. However, there were many nice amenities in the bathroom - but if you're over 6 feet tall, not recommended. It was quite nice and updated and very clean. We used the fridge and water boiler every night. The location of being so close to the Hiroshima train station was convenient too. We were able to hop on and off the shinkansen and JR line to get to other nice sites like Miyajima Island. A couple major cons wer the phones were not working in the entire hotel and the internet was unreliable.

Not a nice place to spend a night!

Good points - The staff were friendly and there was internet access. Also, it was very close to the station so you don't have to drag your suitcases very far.
Bad points - the room we stayed in was very dated and felt dirty and not very nice to spend a night in. The room was a funny brown colour, the bed wasn't comfortable and I didn't get a very good nights sleep because of the poor condition of the room - you were constantly thinking, what is that I can feel at the bottom of the bed! The bathroom wasn't the most pleasant environment either. Also, the room faced the road and we couldn't shut the window.
