Good location near Old Town. Most of the staff were friendly, especially the manager. The hotel operates on a shoestring, and some things are either broken or on its last legs, like the shower head, TV, etc. Towels are old and wifi isn't uniformly strong everywhere in the property. Overall, a good value for money and I would have given it 4 stars if not for this:

There's a police station right behind the hotel and its loudspeaker blared propaganda urging citizens to vote. On Friday, it went on all day, and on Sunday morning, it started at 5am!! Complaints to the authorities have fallen on deaf ears, I was told. Well, if the govt wants to promote tourism, they're actually driving us away by ignoring both the needs of the tourists for rest and private businesses, who rely on good word of mouth.

Hence, my two-star rating. Not really fair to the hotel, I know, but really a message to the Vietnamese govt.

Room was spacious and clean, decent shower (once I worked out how to get the temperature right), helpful staff, and good location for exploring Hoi An old town. The swimming pool area was quite tired and dirty which didn’t make me want to spend time there. The breakfast was ok but very basic. The booking included a free welcome drink but I didn’t recieve this. The air in the room was a bit musty and needs to be freshened a bit.

We had a no-window room on the first floor for 3 nights. It was the most beautiful room we've stayed in. The lighting and the wood details in the room were so beautiful! Everything was very clean, the water in the shower was hot and had good pressure. The separate shower was a big plus. Everything worked well in the room.
All the member of staff were so lovely, we had such a great stay here. Would love to come here again!

Stairs! There is no elevator- had to carry suitcase downstairs upon checkout.
No pool towels. You must use bath towel- for showering and pool!
No hand towel or face washer.
Breakfast was disappointing. Omelette and pancake saving grace. Also- wanted passionfruit and when I lifted the cover-millions of flies flew out. Please put items on ice and protect from insects.

The location and the price were good and the property was OK and I guess considering the price was pretty much as expected. The AC worked but at one point I turned it off and the. Could not get it on again. The sheets were too small for the bed and kept being untucked. The shower head was broken but there was the hand held unit so not that bad. Breakfast was supplied and was sufficient but not special.

This is a very basic hotel, it was clean staff are friendly and welcoming arranged transport to and from the hotel cheaper than Grab. The kettle and TV not working but very quickly rectified, breakfast is basic also but you get what you pay for.

This place was super affordable so I spent a little extra for the balcony and it was so worth it. My balcony room was so spacious and I liked the fact that it was facing an alley way so I didn’t hear too much honking. My room was conveniently located right above the kitchen so it was an easy walk downstairs to get breakfast. The variety of breakfast food was more than enough for me. Everyday you had the option to get noodles, pancakes, eggs, bread, fruit, yogurt, coffee and tea for breakfast. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Every day as I walked out the man at the front desk always asked if I needed any recommendations for anything and it was helpful to hear what the locals recommend. This place was located in the ancient town making it convenient to walk everywhere. An important thing to note is that this hotel does not have an elevator so pack wisely.

We had a lovely stay the this property. The staff were very friendly and always helped us with booking tours and cabs. The bathrooms are a bit outdated and we did have some problems with a leaking shower in the beginning but the staff were helpful and sorted it for us. The hotel is in a great location. Very close to everything but on a quiet street. We had a great stay at this location.

The property had a lot of character reflective of this historical location. There is no elevator so make your request for lower floor if you have mobility issues. The beddings could be updated the hallways and rooms painted to refresh the hotel. Otherwise, the costs, walkability to main Hoi Ann Old Towne and character of place makes this ideal hotel.

the provided toiletries were is very small bottles but we brought our own. during rainy season, the rain gets into the dining area and on the main stair so it gets quite slippery

I had a lovely stay here. The hotel replied to all my messages and helped arrange airport transfer for me. My room was clean and I had a hot shower. Excellent WiFi and TV had HBO. Staff were very friendly and breakfast was great. The pool upstairs was great and lots of sun loungers. Location is excellent on a quiet road but very close to old town and a supermarket two minutes away. Slight issue on check out - it was hard to communicate that I had already paid for the room but they apologised for this.

Little gem close to old town

I had an amazing stay at Vinh Hung Library Hotel. Staff was attentive from day one. The location was ideal; in a small and pretty street, but close enough to old town. It lives up to its name, and there was a small reading nook in my room, as well as a good selection of books in the common area. The room smelled like lemongrass and was very well decorated. If I had to nitpick: surfaces such as doors, knobs and bathroom stalls weren't that clean. And hotel water was scarce in the shower (but worked well in the sink).

Beautiful little hotel, great position close to the Old Town, with plenty of eating options around. Very comfortable and clean room, with delicious complimentary breakfast.
Highly recommend, and while you're in town, get yourself some clothes made at Faifoo II tailors - I went there on the hotel's recommendation,worried that I might not have time before my flight home early on the Friday two days away. Went in and got measured up Wednesday morning, had a fitting on the Thursday morning to check for any necessary alterations, and it was finished and ready for me to collect by 4pm that afternoon, absolutely beautiful.

I absolutely love this hotel and have stayed several times now. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. The location is very close to the beating heart of Hoi An...yet it is in a very quiet street. Breakfast is usually very elaborate and generous. One of the biggest selling features of this hotel has got to be the ROOFTOP POOL which is usually as warm as a bath! But by far, it is the staff that make your stay so magical! Warm, welcoming, humble, obliging with that unmistakable Vietnamese hospitality and sense of fun. I will not hesitate to come back to this hotel time and time and time again!

The pool is well kept on the rooftop, and the pool towels are a lovely additon. The room is a good size, bed very comfy, the only area to improve would be putting an extractor fan in the bathroom to help with ventilation (as we had a room with no windows).

Very cute property and walking distance to a lot of popular places in Hoi An. The library theme was very unique. We weren't able to take advantage of the pool.

The front-desk was able to set us up with a shuttle service back to the airport for cheaper than what we were able to find online. Staff is friendly and easy to work with, no surprise charges.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Vinh Hung Library Hotel. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The mattress firm which I appreciate. The only thing I would do differently would be to have a room with a window. I didn’t think it would make much difference but on days when one needs to be in and rest, not having windows can become quite oppressive after a while. Going down to the lobby or sitting by the pool helped.

The hotel is within walking distance of the ancient town, lantern bridge, the day market, night market, the Lune Theatre. All the attractions are close by. The staff were fantastic and helpful all round and especially with arranging an electric shuttle for us to get about for a tour as my husband does not walk well.

We looked forward every morning to the breakfasts and never got tired of them.

This hotel is in a great location - off a main street so pretty quiet, yet within a short walk to the old center of town. Very convienient. I wish we found this place earlier! Great rooftop pool, and my kids loved the hotel room. We stayed in the room with a loft bed up some steps - so the kids felt they had some privacy and space for themselves. Very nicely decorated and breakfast options were plentiful. No elevator in this building which may bother some people. Bathroom was on the smaller end but not a deal breaker for us. Nicest hotel room we've stayed in this trip.

Most Charming Hotel of our Vietnam Trip

We loved our stay at Vinh Hung Library Hotel. It was a wonderful experience. We were greeted by a staff that wanted to welcome us and serve our every need. The woman who sat down with us spoke nearly fluent English which was nice for us. The hotel is adorable, with books lining the walls and colorful cushions adorning the comfy seats (this is the breakfast area too-really inviting and cute) In the front there is an outdoor coffee area where we sat and sipped and watched people. The hotel is located centrally but not on the busiest of streets. We could walk easily everywhere-to shopping, eating, night market. It was the most perfect location. Our room was small but clean, adorable,nice. Our daughter slept in an upstairs loft area that was spacious and cute. This was perfect privacy at this cost. She didn't mind the few stairs at all-and she loved the privacy. Beds were comfy and clean. Bathroom was nice. When I booked I didn't notice that there wasn't an elevator (we were on 4th floor) I'm so glad I didn't because I probably wouldn't have booked here/which would have been a major loss. The stairs werent bad at all. They were open and airy-not regular dark hotel stairs. And the staff insisted on carrying our luggage up and down, so it was just a little more exercise that didn't hurt us after our wonderful nearby foody excursions! The shopping around this hotel was great. Best feature of this unique hotel was the helpful friendly staff. We loved them and this hotel.

This place has a very good location, very close to the center (5 minute walk) but not in the middle of the hassle, and actually located in a quiet street. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Next door there is a hotel being renovated so there is a very loud drilling noise early in the morning (not every day though)...we talked to them and they moved us to the opposite wing of the hotel and it did help a lot actually...so if you go there soon, just request to be put in a room opposite of the construction and it should be good enough.

Breakfast was very good, tasty and fresh...they make fresh omelets right there for you and there are options to add like fried rice, pho, bakeries, fruit, etc.

The pool at the top is very refreshing if you want to come back for a quick swim during the day and take a break.

The rooms are really well decorated and comfortable. We stayed here for 3 nights and it was simply perfect

If you want 5 Star - don’t stay here. If you want a gorgeously homely and comforting hotel within a 5 min slow walk to the Old Quarter, stay here. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. English is good. Breakfast adequate and pool small but lovely. The ambience and locale of this place are fabulous. Our kids aged 11 and 13 loved their upstairs bedroom. Love it and would stay here again in a heartbeat.

I recently stayed at the hotel for four nights. I was able to check in early without any hassles or additional charges. The hotel is very clean and safe. The staff were awesome - very friendly, professional and happy to help with any request.

The hotels is within walking distance to the old town, so no need for taxis!

They have a complete tour desk which is very handy. The only downside would be - don’t book an overnight sleeper bus via the hotel. The company they put me with were a little dodgy.

But overall, highly recommend the a stay at the Vinh Hung Library Hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay here (couple, no kids). The hotel is beautiful, comfortable and very close (couple of blocks) to old town and the river. The pool is clean and a great way to relax on a hot morning or after walking through the old town. Staff was always helpful and kind. They arranged a couple of things for us, hassle free. Would definitely stay here again and recommend anyone traveling to Hoi An to do the same!

hotel decor is lovely and all staff we encountered were friendly and welcoming (except the checkin staff who couldnt be bothered to welcome us or provide a real smile,guessing she was the owner of this hotel).
room is beautiful however shower door was broken on one side, made it very hard for us to slide in and out of shower, and no hot water at all.
I do recommand to stay here considering the location and peice.

The pool terrace was a relaxing, quiet haven and rarely occupied. The included breakfast buffet had lots of choices including fresh, made to order eggs. The location is perfect - on a quiet side street but within easy walking distance to central old town. I will definitely stay here again!

Highly recommend

The room was nicely decorated and large. They provided cure little kimonos which was a nice touch.
The swimming pool area had sun until late afternoon and want crowded when I was there.
The breakfast was great with lots of choice and western alternatives.
The location was brilliant only a few minutes walk and the beach was 20 min away by bike.

Great location, really friendly staff

This hotel is fantastic. The staff working here are so friendly and happy to help with food advice, your advice, best way to get away at the end of your trip. We had a lovely time staying here, breakfast is nice and there's plenty of it, and it's open for a good amount of time too (we went to My Son on a sunrise tour and got back still with time for breakfast!).

It's also in a great location. It's 5 minutes walk from the tip of the old quarter (so 15 max to all the locations) but because it's slightly further than some hotels it's a bit further from the typical flood zone and also close to some really nice local food places (e.g. get bun thit nuong from the lady opposite cafe Zoom - incredible dish and every 5 minutes someone pulls up on a scooter for takeaway so clearly popular with locals too!) which means you can experience both tourist and local side of Hoi An!

House keeping near to improve!

Basically is a good stay for us but maybe can be improved in housekeeping area where they forgot to give us hand wash soap & also bottle water. Other than that all are OK.

staff was great. when we checked in they gave us a map and showed all the hot spots. We arrived in the middle of breakfast and were starving from travelling 10 hours and they allowed us free breakfast that day as well. room was nice but we did not have a window and the shower was not clean it had mould all over it. other than that good hotel.

Quiet haven in busy city

The rooms are quaint with the library them and clean/tidy and air conditioned. We had a room with 2 beds (very large ones) and another with a huge king plus sized bed. The hotel is an older style building but has charm and calm which is just perfect for retreating from the hustle and bustle of the tourist rush to see it all. The pool is lovely for a cool off and dip and is at the top of the building - towels available up at the pool. The buffet breakfast offered each morning is fabulous with a wide array of offerings to suit both Western and Asian tastes. The location is in a quiet street but is close to attractions and bakeries/restaurants/tailors and the main tourist hub in Hoi An. It is about a 7-8 minute walk down to the river with many shops and interesting buildings along the way. We arranged via the hotel the airport pick up and drop off service which was very prompt and good value. The staff were very helpful and assisted with arranging a vespa tour to see more of the countryside.

Well furnished hotel in a good location.

Hotel was well located and the rooms were well furnished and well air conditioned. Unfortunately I found several dead cockroaches around the room and bathroom and found some bugs on my bed. After notifying reception of this they were quick, helpful and apologetic to fix the problem. Otherwise the staff were helpful, sincere and did a great job!

The Vinh Hung Library Hotel is a beautiful place to stay in Hoi An. It's a short walk from the Ancient Town, and on a quiet little side street. The rooms themselves are really pretty. They really take the library theme to it's fullest, and there were a few books and travel guides in our room. The travel guides were actually really helpful! The rooms were decorated with lanterns, and overall had a really beautiful aesthetic. The pool at the top of the hotel is really nice for a dip after a hot day. Everyone was very nice and friendly. Additionally, it was easy to arrange for extra things - we were driving to Hue on our last day, and the hotel arranged for a private car to take us to the My Son Sanctuary and Hai Van Pass before leaving us at our hotel in Hue, for a reasonable cost. Also our bed was two double beds pushed together, and was easily the largest bed I've ever slept on! They had a great little morning buffet as well.

Great hotel

The hotel's staff are very kind and helpful and always wants to make sure you get the best service.
The hotel and the rooms looks very well. We stayed in the room without window and it was pretty good, mainly because the room stayed air conditioned even when we came back to the room after long and hot day outside.
Moreover, the hotel located in 5 min walk from the old city.
