The room AC did not work as needed. It only worked as a fan, without cooling the air at all. Room was very hot and unable to sleep as a result. There was no toilet paper provided. There was only one coffee packet for the two cups.

Missed our connecting flight( thanks Jetstar) and had to quickly get overnight accom near the airport. This place was perfect- near the airport and reasonably priced. It was late at night, so didnt matter that its an industrial area. Clean, comfortable- perfect.

They were not expecting me and it took nearly 30 minutes to get checked in.
I was not escorted in to the room and had to grope around in the dark for the light switches.
The toilet was actually behind the bathroom door, which I had to stand in the shower recess to close the door to enable me to use the toilet then walk back into the shower recess so I could re open the door to get out of the bathroom. The shower head pointed at the side wall at head height ???? If that`s not enough, when I checked out earlier than planned, reception didn`t even bother to ask how my stay was!!!!!!!!!
THIS WAS NOT A SUPERIOR SUITE. Just a grossly overpriced low budget room

Honestly, I loved it here. This is not some luxurious hotel by any means but more like a pop and stop hotel (which we prefer and love). We probably got there at 2 am or later and they were still open, Happy as can be and let us come in. People were so nice to us, the air conditioner was super cold, free WiFi, and the showers stayed warm for all 4 of us to shower around the same time. While we were checking out, we had to wait for our grab so we were outside in the heat; they gave us a little snack and drink. We loved how welcoming, kind, and thoughtful they were. I definitely will book here again when I come back!

The hotel is old and run down. Our room was nothing like advertised. We had ripped sheets with stains on them. Hair on the bed, and towels that were so old I wouldn’t even dry my dog with them.
This hotel also smelled so bad. After ten minutes in the room we couldn’t take the smell anymore. There was no view, there was mold in the bathroom and it was in a bad location.
Please do not stay at this hotel!

What a dump! Can't believe Orbitz would represent this. Room was so dingy, dated and smelly we couldn't stay here, we got another hotel to come collect us and checked out within an hour. The area is so noisy as it's next to shipping container storage so it's dusty dirty and didn't feel safe. Hotel desk didn't know or have confirmation of our bookng.

I have stayed there as I thought the airport MRT is nearby.But I need to book Grab cab and the charge was 130 Baht. No good restaurant nearby. One market is located nearby and can buy local food there.And tesco shop also available in 500 meters.It is located in a calm place.Not much time take to travel to airport or metro station.Can opt this option.

A very interesting place. Desk clerk was only visible staff. She did all she could to please. No restaurant. NO AC in lobby. Very clean is the best we can say. Decent value for the money, But absolutely no frills. Very basic but close to the airport. Next time we need a few hours sleep when connecting through Bangkok, we will try something else.

Basic, but clean and ok for a night near airport

Just adequate for one night near airport, but no longer. Bed comfortable and huge! Good shower. Very clean.
There was only breakfast available, which we passed on as early flight. There is a small night market along the road in walking distance where you could get a small meal from a stall. We took a taxi to a mall for 100 BHT where there were lots eating options.
The windows are all frosted glass in hotel rooms which we found disconcerting. Not much of a view anyway as looks onto storage container area and car Patel.
Very quiet most of the time apart from another guest who slammed his door on arrival and on leaving.
Free tea and coffee from hot water urn near the lift by reception.
We were told 150 BHT to airport but driver only charged 120. Only 15 mins away.

One can go downtown Bangkok via railway system easily if you plan ur travel well. You can go to Pattaya city, visit and swim at the Jom tien beach in one day via taxi and airport bus from this hotel. Leave hotel at six am and be back by 9pm.

In an industrial estate with constant noise

Like I have said constant noise. I had a frog bouncing around in my room and it stank of cigarette smoke.
No restaurants around. The staff were pleasant but I suppose they needed to be as the place was not good. Very dated and not what the pictures represented. Not good reflection of advertising.

Hotels.com: quit bothering me to review layovers!

I was only laying over in Bangkok for the night. I really don't think this review means much. I barely remember the accomoadtions, though the hotel was nice enough and the front desk staff very nice. I really wish hotels.com would quit pestering for reviews like this, where it's an overnight stay that doesn't really tell you anything about the place. I know: I don't /have/ to respond, but I want to post this in the hope that hotels.com takes note and refrains from further emails; if a customer doesn't respond once, that should be enough.

I choose this because it says it was close to the airport. Not that close, 120baht cab ride. Nothing but docks in the area. The service was helpful considering I can in at 2am. They were very helpful in getting me a cab for my return to the airport

Great airport hotel - rooms aren't brilliant - in fact a bit shabby - but for one night it's great
What the rooms lack the staff more than make up for - we arrived early and checked in no problem - we were hungry and they made us some breakfast - even though they had finished two hours earlier!
They printed off our boarding cards and in the morning we asked for a taxi for 0615 and it was there waiting!

The woman who worked there (and appeared to be the only person working in the entire place) was very nice, but that is the only good thing I have to say about this place. The room was pretty gross, there was mold growing in the shower and bugs on the ceiling, a \"window\" which was opaque and let in no light, and in an awkward location. We stayed here to be close to the airport but it would have been better to stay a bit further away for how uncomfortable we felt at this place.

Okay Stay at Rafael Mansion

We stayed at this hotel since it was close to the Bangkok airport and was also near to a Honda motorcycle dealership that we wanted to visit/buy parts from. Overall, the hotel was okay. It's an economical place to stay with comfortable beds and a good shower if you want to be near the airport but there really isn't too much around to see or do since it is on a side street in an industrial area. The biggest problem with staying at the Rafael Mansion wasn't with the hotel itself but with the shipping container facility across the street. From about 7 AM until 8 PM you can hear a loud banging noise about every 10 to 15 minutes as the company moves/places shipping containers at their facility. The noise is definitely loud enough to wake you from your sleep so it's something to be aware of if you plan to wake up late or go to sleep early.

The hotel was great, and the staff were excellent and very helpful. They even gave us lunch as they were trying the kitchen for possible meals for guests, and it was very good. It is perfect for a one night stay over for the airport. The only disadvantage is location it is in the middle of an industrial area. However there is a little market a hundred metres up the road and the people there were great. I would definitely stay there again, for one night.

Nice staff, convenient hotel but unpleasant stay

We needed a place near the airport for about 5 hours just to shower and get some sleep. Looked forward to a warm shower before the long flight back to the US. First disappointment was having no towels in the room. Husband went to front desk; the clerk herself had to get them which took about 15 minutes. Next disappointment--shower pressure was so weak, the water was trickling, no exaggeration. Finally, as we sat on the bed, it was hard as wood! It wasn't even a typical firm Thai mattress, this was a solid unyielding block. While the price was low, we at least expected the room to have a decent mattress and functioning shower. Cannot recommend based on our experience.

Great for BKK overnight layover

If you're looking for a quick hotel for a layover at BKK, this place is great. Good people, 100 baht breakfast which is pretty good, they'll have a cab waiting for you to take you to the airport in the AM. I stayed here because my flight got into BKK at 11pm and my flight left for Phuket the next day at 1pm. When I came back from Phuket I had to stay a night in Bangkok for my flight the next morning, and I decided to stay here again. Clean, good A/C, good bed (but all thai beds are so hard what's up with that?), good wifi, good bathroom and shower.

P.S. Don't let any cab drivers try to tell you a flat fee to and from BKK and not run the meter. It's 150 baht ($4.00) to get there from BKK and ~90 baht ($2.50) to get back to BKK. If they try to tell you otherwise - point to the paper in their cab with their picture, name, taxi id, and customer service number, and yell at them.

Cheap and wonderful for an airport stop!

Well, this was literally a quick snooze before boarding the plane back to Britain, so we weren't looking for luxury just a comfy place to rest.
The superior room was massive, the bed cosy, and such good value for money! Free noodles as well! (first time this happened to me in Asia!)
I really would recommend booking the superior room for just one night if you aren't looking to go and find food etc. or you're just happy with the noodles.It's not even 100 baht taxi fare to the airport.

We found this hotel to be a good value for the brief time we had between flights. It was close to the airport, although tricky for our taxi driver to find since it's a ways back from the main road in a commercial trucking area. The large neon sign above the hotel was helpful. Once there, were we warmly greeted by a helpful clerk and found our room clean, cool and comfortable for four people. Only had one towel, but the clerk promptly brought more. Refrigerator in room had four large bottles of water and four noodle cups. Hot water was in lobby. No AC outside of room. They had taxi ready for our early departure. Overall, this worked great for us and I'd recommend it to others.

Clean room, helpful staff. I ended up staying 3 nights instead of one, and there was no daily housekeeping. I found it a bit weird that there was coffee in the room, but you had to go to the first floor to get hot water... which was hot sometimes, not others. It's in an industrial area, and you will wait 10-15 minutes after they call for a taxi. Good wifi. Good value at about $20/night. But if you need classy, you might want to try other hotels.

The website hotels.com advertised a free airport shuttle, which was false. The water faucet in the bathroom was broken and someone had tried to be clever by \"fixing it\" with a cheap plastic bag. The elevator was broken so we had to haul our suitcases up and down the stairs. On the plus side, the hotel's close to the airport.

I have to say this was my second time in 3 months stay in 2015... yes this place is off the main drag but yet a short distance walk away from the shops and small bars.. the reception will arrange a taxi for you to the airport costing 200 bhat getting there within 15 mins...
well worth a stay for the price.. it is a huge place with easy excess having lifts.. rooms are very comfy with air con.. free internet for 24 hrs ..neighbourhood errrr.. not so good.. heavy goods vehicles running up and down.. the building is amazing and looks it belongs somewhere else...

Management photos don't do it justice, go see Trip Advisor -com for exact image. Rooms are super clean but dated. A/C works. Free water, coffee, & instant soup is a plus. (Hot water in the lobby though) This place is perfect if you need to stay near airport. Other than that, b/c the location is off the main street in an alley, explore walking will be a trek/adventure if you're up for one. There is a store a stone throw away. The staff is very friendly, ask them to secure a black cab for 150 baht. If metered, traffic will eat up the meter. TRUST!

Best airport budget hotel in Bangkok?

4 star service, 2.5 star hotel. This family-owned and operated hotel was surprisingly comfortable. Close to the airport, it was very convenient. I'd say it's an especially good place to stay if you are in transit on a short layover. The one night I stayed there I saw quite a few Euopean couples. An important note: Restaurants were nowhere close, but the congenial front desk lady recommended I order in some Thai food. It proved to be quite tasty. Excellent service!

The hotel was fine for a quick sleep when needing to catch an early plane. Room was clean and breakfast was good. Close to airport but room was quiet. Downside was that it was in or adjacent to a light industrial/storage area so limited access to restaurants of other amenities. Hotel pictures seem to be when the building was newer so in reality it is a bit more worn looking. The owner (I think) and staff were very friendly and accommodating which helped make up for some of the other things.

Certainly a convenient distance from the airport, with friendly staff. Unfortunately the room smelled overpoweringly of moth balls. Decent value for cleanliness and location.

Nice hotel close to the airport

I spend just one night after arriving after my twenty-five hour flight from Toronto. I needed a cheap room near the airport just so I could crash after my flight.

The accommodations were basic but more than adequate for my needs at the late hour that I arrived at.

Just to mentioned that I asked inside the airport how much to pay the cab driver for the 3km ride and was told something around 200 Bhat. In the end the cabbie insisted that it was 300 Bhat and in the morning going back to the airport the hotel manager said it was only 100 Bhat and no more.

Stop over but nothing more

The place is dirty and in need of repairs. The surrounding area is awful. The only pluses are 1-it's close to the airport and 2-the staff was great about having a cab waiting for me in the morning when I asked.

Stay away from this hotel

This had to be the worst airport hotel I ever stayed. The room was dirty and greasy, so bad that Mosquitos were all over the room. The AC wasn't cooling and the room was musty and nasty.

I asked the hotel and they arranged a taxi to take my family to the airport, however, halfway through, we found out it's a \"black\" taxi - The driver refused to turn the meter on and asked 200 baht for a 30baht ride (9km). The driver said such price of 200 baht was a special arrangement he had with the hotel.

Not what we expected

About 15 minutes drive from International Airport so not as close as we thought. Very hard beds and building in need of repair. Lovely people though and the breakfast was great value. The plus side was seeing Bangkok for real not the trendy side. Very cheap so great for students. We felt safe.

near airport for ease of connecting flight

I got in very late and just needed a place to lay the head down. I was in and out, taxi waiting when I came downstairs.

Good hotel to stay in if you have an early morning international flight. Nothing fancy, but better than expected for a very cheap room.
