Property and room were dirty.Asked for a handicapp 1st floor room and room we were given was occupied. We then had to opt for a 2nd floor room which made it bad for me with a knee injury The outside also looked rundown with the \"resident drug addicts\" hanging out in the parking lot and outside the rooms when you open your door you can't help to see them and their needles they left strewn about the property on the ground.Just the place you want to stay and feel safe with your teenage grand daughter.Very run down from a few years ago.

1. Hooped shower rod mounting to wall failed, Rod dropped down in center, curtain slipped to center when showering. A previous repair had been made but in adequately.
2 the diverter valve to make the water go from the handheld to the mounted showerhead was inoperable could not turn lover, thus could not use the handheld shower.

They have no one available to speak to who can give a refund if one has to cancel or even wants to ask about it. Both I and Expedia tried to reach someone but they have no one who responds. Lost two nights stay when at least they should have refunded the second night when I had to cancel due to medical illness. Oh well, they will never see my business again.

Stayed on the first floor. There was a large gap on the bottom latch side of the door, the vinyl flooring between the beds is in need of replacing and the exhaust fan in the bathroom was filthy. Caulking around tub/ shower walls and tub floor was done by someone using a caulk gun for the first time. Room is surface cleaned at best. 1st and last time staying at a red roof inn. Was not where we wanted to stay but choices were limited. It provided a safe place to sleep that is a step up from a car at a truck stop.

The property needs a definite clean up, the lobby feels like it's in a dangerous area and is so unwelcoming
The locks on the room doors did not work well and we had to be given a demonstration from the person in the lobby on how to hold the card just right so it would open, it took several trys every time
this hotel gets a lot of business from parents coming to see their children at the university, they charge phenomenal fees during the busiest weekends they should provide a nicer room and grounds

In the first room we were in, water backed up into our tub so we had to switch to another room. In that room, there was fecal matter and pubic hair on the bathroom walls. it was graduation weekend for my daughter from Binghamton University and the red roof Inn was charging $300 a night. When I complained about the cleanliness and potential health hazard of the room, I was told I would not get a refund. I moved myself and my daughters to a comfort Inn in Binghamton and spent another $700 for those rooms on top of the $900 for the red roof inn, which they have still yet to return. This, despite the fact that I did not stay there the second two nights.

Front Desk was the real reason for this review. He was courteous and good at customer service. I had a bad experience at the other Red Roof Inn in Binghamton so if you have to choose, choose Red Roof Inn Johnson City. There was no microwave or fridge but there are many restaurants and grocery stores within walking distance so that shouldn't be an issue.

This was a pretty typical budget motel. My grandkids loved having the view of the valley and looking over Johnson City. The beds were comfy and the rooms were clean. This was the best price I could find on Hotels.com but did not feel like the cheapest hotel in the greater Binghamton area. Clerk was friendly and helpful.

I requested a handicap accessible room. But room 151 had a full tub with a rounded bottom, which I fell in as I was getting into it. Not hurt but my girlfriend could not get into it.
The heater is old, old, old, we had to put a towel down by the door to help stop the cold air from around the whole door.

The room was not seviced after the first day. Towels were insuficient. Cleanliness was \"acceptable\" but the room decor and atmosphere was \"cold\". Parking was adequate but snow fell both nights and was not removed.
The location. Near shopping was convenient.
The need for a security deposi was a surprise... i will be waiting vigilantly for its return.

The room was too heavily smelling of a cleaner or air freshener. My C-Pap machine still has that odor the next night, when we were at a different location. One wonders what it was so was breathing in all night. The dark floor appeared clean, but my socks and my husband’s feet told a different story. Our dog even smells of that odor. . I’ll have to give her a bath.
The bed appeared clean. The bathroom was clean. The hot water came on immediately and we don’t get that at our home- so that was a treat.
There was lots of garbage all around the perimeter of the property, as I tried to walk my dog, and the garbage bins were all full to overflowing.
A wooded area nearby was suspiciously looking like a dump or a place homeless people may be camping out. Makeshift bridge, grocery cart, cardboard and plastic.
We stayed here in June. Had no complains. This time, the price was higher and can’t recommend it.

This place is pretty bad. Sketchy long term people hanging out all around the parking lot. Only thing the FD staff said to me was if I want to smoke, smoke by the guardrail....which is right where the party was all night from the long terms. Dead beetles on the floor, dead bugs in bathroom. Toilet barely flushed. Cracked outer glass window. Blood looking splatter on the sheets. TV never worked. Had booked 2 nights and left after 1.If I had been travelling alone, I would have left and slept in my car.

Red roof inn? More like the caved roof inn. The bathroom door had visble patched holes in it, the floor boards were cracked and coming apart, the shower was absolutely horrid. There was hair, dirt and bugs in the shower that I had to clean out myself. There was barely any water pressure coming out of the shower head. Beds were not comfortable. Curtains were falling off the tracks and were very worn. The front desk was dissmissive and not helpful. My son left his lovey + stuffed animal behind and when I called they said \"they didnt find it\" after not calling back for 2 hours. (I had to call them again) and then they just hung up on me. Overall- I would not recommend unless you are desperate. I would much rather sleep in my car then to ever stay here again.

Not worth it

My family and I stayed for four days. I had booked my hotel online. When I checked in, I was told there was a security deposit of $75.00 and that once I checked out, I would get it back. I have yet to see my security deposit. There is no hospitality from the front desk people, and they are rude. There is free coffee in the lobby. No free breakfast. On the 2nd day I stayed the water was off. Not sure why. Was told it would be back on after 7 pm. The phones in the rooms do not work.

I didn’t like where the hotel was situated in the back of a plaza . They put us in the back where there was a person living in the room next room. They left their door opened the whole night , hanging outside the room . At 2 in the morning woke up to a kid screaming and running around next store like it was the middle of the day . They were banging on the walls like they were repairing something. Our toilet wouldn’t flush completely unless we repeatedly flushed it. The next day upon leaving my husband and I had either flea or bed bug bites on our ankles . It took 3 days for my deposit to to be returned- I had to call them . Never again

Supply of rooms in the area was limited due to a golf tournament. We needed a room for one night due to interrupted travel. This room served the purpose but was disappointing. The sheets had multiple stains on them, the vinyl floor was filthy and there was a hole in the back of the bathroom door. The property could use some maintenance. The staff was very friendly and efficient.

The room was clean.

That was the good new. Here is what we had to contend with.
1. We could not get the TV remote to work. They replace the remote. We kept getting \"Program not available.\" When my son came he was able to work it. Why make the tech so unfriendly.
2. No hair dryer. I had to go to the desk and get one, which worked. I returned right after I used it.
3. I made reservation for 3. We had towels for 2. Had to get more towels from the office, which they had.
4. Getting the room cleaned apparently not available. We spent the day painting a house. Came back to hotel and the room had not been cleaned. The next morning, I went to the desk to ask that the room be cleaned with new towel. I wanted 4 towels (one for my hair that I had to get the blow dryer for). Came back to the hotel after a full day of painting and the room had not been serviced! (I had a tip on the pillow if they did do the room) We came back after a long day of hard hot work to room not clean.
5. Coffee/tea only in the lobby, not in the room. The room had a refrigerator and microwave.

The room was clean. Front desk personal were pleasant. That was all it offered.

We were in town for just a couple nights so the hotel fit all of our basic needs. We didn’t see any bugs so that was a big plus. The cleanliness of the shower and toilet was questionable but, not horrible. The staff were friendly and the hotel was quiet. We would stay here again.
