Our accommodation and the restaurant bar were fantastic as usual. The food, well it speaks for itself if I was to use a word ‘tremendous!’
Unfortunately a couple of your team members were not up to the usual standard (Thurs 13th evening & Fri 14th breakfast).
The young lady on the 13th, came across as we were being annoying to her and that everything was too much trouble!?
The next morning at breakfast the young man came across poorly, he offered no milk with my coffee, or butter with our toast and appeared more engaged with his phone than the customers of which we were one of two couples.
This will not put us off both staying & dining with yourselves again, but was not the standard we have enjoyed previously.

Great rooms, but it was a bit of a nightmare to find due to local road works. The food is great, staff are extra polite and very helpful.

One thing I wasn’t aware of was the need for ID, as this wasn’t expected on hotels.com. It’s on the website apparently, but it’s not exactly something you check before you travel is it? Anyway, they accepted a photo of my driving license, as I didn’t have it in me.

I stayed for one night and it was lovely, the room is great and so convenient being carpark facing. I did want to order food to the room but the orders had been halted which was a shame, but plenty places to eat within a short drive. Staff were very polite and helpful, easy stay.

This is hands down the best value for money stay I have had in the UK. Everything from the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, down to the modern rooms was at the highest level of quality, at a very reasonable price. The Tassimo machine in the room was a really nice touch, not come across that before. If we were to find ourselves in that are of the country again, I will definitely be booking for a stay and a meal. Thank you.

Hidden gem!

I’ve stayed here before, hence the return visit. The staff are amazing, so helpful and ever so polite. The rooms are warm, clean and have everything you need. I can’t comment on the breakfast as I was out before it started due to work, but food in the restaurant is outstanding. The Guinness is also great, always helps!

I’ll be returning again when in the area, hidden gem!

Positives..Good location, good sized room & facilities, Well priced per night including breakfast, plenty of free parking.
Negatives.. the only negative of the stay was the breakfast in the morning which in our opinion could be much improved by replacing the smoked bacon and herb chipolatas with unsmoked bacon and good quality pork sausages, good old Full English breakfast will suffice don’t mess with it.

We had a great stay at this lovely pub and it was amazing value for money. We had dinner in the evening and the food was delicious. There 9 of us and the service was friendly and attentive. Our room was very clean and comfortable with an amazing range of coffee!!!

The breakfast menu was varied and the food once again was fresh, made to order and delicious.

Would definitely recommend this place.

A hidden gem at a great price!

We would recommend the Carrington Arms – especially at the price of the room, which was extremely reasonable and overall, we enjoyed our stay, with a couple of tiny niggles…

Check-in took a wee while, as the reception area was the bar and we had to wait for a few customers to be served before finally being noticed, welcomed and given the key to our room. After a long drive, I was anxious to dump our bags, freshen up and have a nightcap myself. It was worth the wait, though.

The room was spacious, clean and bright, with a well-appointed bathroom and good storage. The bed was comfortable and we slept well, although the red light from the TV and a blue light from something else was a little distracting at first.

Breakfast was first class and the service friendly and efficient, which swept away any reservations we may have had regarding the delayed check-in and slightly annoying light-show (which we may have been able to do something about if we hadn't been so plumb tuckered.)

Anyway, I'm hoping we can find an excuse to go back some time (maybe with sleeping masks).

Excellent overnight stop

Very good stop on our way south. Near M1. Modern rooms in little pods near the main pub. No air con but fan provided. Excellent food with good menu choices. No dedicated check in staff so you do have to wait for the bar staff to be free. Very good value for money.

In an attempt to avoid travelling in the heat, we arrived very early. The staff were very welcoming and were happy to provide drinks.
We decided to stay for lunch and were not disappointed with the food. Steaks being cooked to perfection, with desserts of sticky toffee pudding and brownie being to die for!
When we did get to go to our room, we found it more than adequate, very clean and tea/coffee making facilities and a mini fridge to store our own goodies.
There was ample wardrobe space and bedside drawers and a dressing table.
Although we did not use them, there was an iron (with board), fan and hairdryer available for use.
Every member of staff we interacted with, from the bar/check in to the waiting staff in the restaurant and cleaners/gardeners were all polite and friendly and made us feel very welcome.
Even though we were only staying one night, we felt like we were on a great holiday and would definitely come back to stay if in this area again.

Love coming here, evening meals & breakfast are excellent. Staff are friendly and food prices reasonable. Room rates vary a lot by day of the week and how busy they are but there are some great deals through hotels.com on Friday/Saturday nights

This is a lovely place that with a few tweaks could be so much more. The bar very frustratingly shuts at 9.45 and the service can be quite slow. Breakfast is excellent but it again would benefit from being open earlier than the7.30 in the week and 8am at the weekend
