Being given an accessibility room when I am able bodied wasn’t great. The mirror was too low. Lighting poor in the bathroom. I hate a shower curtain that clings to you. Bars and frames around the toilet were not useful. Disappointing for a 5 star hotel. Soap had run out.

Excellent stay marred by chaotic breakfast. Speedy check-in with free biscuit; lift to top floor and a very clean pitchside twin room with bath and shower over. Shame no adjustable head as hard to wash without soaking hair (bath hat flattens style). Plenty of storage. Lots of lights, altough none very strong. Shame you can't open balcony doors. Quick response to change hair dryer when the first didn't work. Attended a party in Red Dot bar - fantastic buffet provided. DJ was host's own and I gather hotel's recommended person did not respond to enquiries. Decent sleep on good bed. Other guests rather noisy with corridor chats and doors banging. Good bedding. Breakfast - there was no room to sit down so placed in an ante room. Much further to carry each plate back but also long queues, ran out of bacon. It didn't feel like the wonderful post party breakfast we'd envisaged. None of the group could sit anywhere near each other. One staff member said it was always this way on a Sunday morn and another said it was out of the ordinary and they had never had everyone want breakfast at the same time before (9.30) but with check out at 11 it seems the most likely! I have stayed before for NYE and had a less convenient room but with breakfast well organised so I think this is a management issue. Letting huge volumes choose to sit as they wish (2 people on larger tables) is crying out for the chaos that we experienced. Disappointing end but the breakfast is 50% of the hotel experience!

The only flaw were that the rooms were cold. It was very cold outside but the heating should have warmed up the rooms eventually but it didn't do a great job. The air con heating was not sufficient enough to warm up the place. The bathroom was especially freezing, even with the heating on continuously.

A lovely stay at this hotel. The room was very comfortable and fairly clean. Check in was easy and we appreciated the second member of staff we spoke to advising us that if we paid ahead for our family to join us for breakfast we could get a discounted price for them. Would be good to be advised of the car parking facilities beforehand so we didn’t have to ask at reception before being able to find a space. Both times I visited the breakfast buffet, items were missing (eggs, bacon and hash browns) but the selection was great even for gluten free. It’s a shame there wasn’t a mirror in the room that you could sit in front of to do makeup and hair but other than that a really well placed comfy hotel. Will come again.

There were hairs in the bath and on one of the towels.
Shower water pressure is poor, yet filled up the bath - drainage needs checking.
It would be good to provide a layout map of the hotel on check-in, as it was difficult to find the gym, dining room, etc, from my room.
Would also be good to have an alternative entrance to the rear of the building, to prevent needing to walk 500m to the front entrance, the same to the adjacent restaurants, then back again, and again back to the room!

We only stayed two nights so we put up with the issue but if we was staying longer we would have mentioned this. As we walked into reception we were met with an uninterested member of staff, which was a sign of the the experience we would be subjected to. As soon as I walked into room there was an overpowering smell of vomit . I proceeded to walk onto the carpet and stepped onto a wet patch . The cleaners had tried to clean it but obviously were unable to eliminate the smell. Asked reception for 2 pairs of slippers to which the initial reply was that there were none available. After a lengthy debate eventually were given only one pair. The night was very disturbed and uncomfortable . The noise from outside the hotel and the hallway was unacceptable. We were constantly disturbed and were shocked that the sound proofing was atrocious. We thought we’d try this hotel again to give it another chance as last year we had a similar experience. But after this we have decided never to waste our money here again.

Bathroom was terrible - it was an accessible one - mirror and sink were so low we had to use a chair to wash with. Bathroom did not have good lighting or shelving for make up purposes and to put any other items on! We felt a little unclean in there and it just was not a good experience.

We were there for the Model Train Show so it was a perfect location. The bar/restaurant on second floor was great.
It was confusing when the red dot restaurant was open. They provided ice for the room at the bar when asked. We were surprised we couldn’t charge the restaurant to the room. Overall a good stay.

Had a one night stay here very nice however did have some hiccups such as the alarm going off at 1am and some confusing light switches. There was a thick layer of dust on the kettle, and the bed was quite worn as it squeaked.

Other than that it was a very pleasant experience, really great location walkable for shops etc. Room came with plenty of towels, water and even complimentary cookies.

Built within the football stadium this is a unique place to stay with some rooms having views over the pitch. Friendly and helpful staff. Lots of car parking available at a guest rate and plenty of restaurants close by. The only drawback is the distance from the lifts to some of the bedrooms.

It’s part of the stadium and there’s plenty of parking but it’s at a charge of £10, which was more than we were advised and they decided to cut the grass on the pitch at 06.30 so that was the end of any sleep. The heating in our room (via air con unit) didn’t work even though maintenance tried for over an hour. Pillows went to nothing and so soft there was no support but good water pressure in shower.

Breakfast was a great choice and due to that I would stay again but only if I had a room that was not overlooking the pitch and the risk of an 06.30 start again.

Overall compared to other Double trees my stay was disappointing.

Clean and well-equipped room with hairdryer, iron, rust-free kettle, and fresh bed linen. Some wear and tear on tiles in the bathroom and furnitures in bedroom, likely due to high traffic, but everything was clean and well organised. Hotel was flexible – extended my stay till 5 pm for just half-day rate, beyond the usual 1:30 pm limit. Affordable and convenient. Would visit again.

Marked down on the comfort rating. The air con in my room was broken with a known fault and the room was 28 degrees when I went in & had no openable windows. It was cooler in the corridor! I rang reception straight away but I was told they were fully booked and all they could do was give me a fan. I didn’t really feel like the person I spoke to cared that much. It took nearly half an hour to get the fan, and I lasted another hour in the heat before I couldn’t take it and had to ring again to ask for an alternative room. I did at that time speak to someone more considerate who would move me, but they did seem annoyed I had “used” the room (a bottle of water & a hand towel to wash my face in an attempt to cool down) and it would have to be remade by housekeeping so they could put someone else in it that night. Eventually I got the right result & they put things right with a different room but I didn’t think their initial reactions were representative of a premium hotel which was a shame. They also shouldn’t let a room with a known fault in the height of summer. I would stay here again in the hope it was a one-off blip but I would hope for better in the future.

We have stayed at DoubleTree many times. Reception staff are always welcoming. Evgenia is always friendly and helpful. She has checked us in on our last three visits.
As a side note, we have witnessed a guest being quite rude to her and she communicated with them in such a professional manner.
We sometimes request a room up-grade and the hotel has always been able to accommodate, even if it is for a specific room, so thank you House-keeping staff.
The hotel is clean and the rooms are always spotless.
The food in the Red Dot bar has always been served in good time and is always hot.
We dined in the Pitchside bar/restaurant on our last visit. The kitchen had an issue with the gas supply. We were kept informed regarding our food order (delay) and received extra portions when the food arrived - result!
We’re staying again this weekend - hope the kitchen has the same issue, ha ha ha.
Would highly recommend this hotel to friends.
I almost forgot... great warm cookies!

Just one negative point - guests are charged for parking. Most hotels request that you register your vehicle but are not charged.

A unique property overlooking the stadium. Huge room which felt nicer than being cramped. The best bit? The breakfast that goes on to 11am. We were in Milton Keynes for an all day festival and so many hotels finish breakfast at 9.30 or 10am....which when you're out late and quite frankly, hungover, you can't always eat that early. Staff were attentive and friendly. Great place!
