The hotel was beautifully, warm exquisite decor. Going up to the hotel, which seems to be surrounded by a housing estate, you really are not expecting such a delightful place.
Had the weather been better we would have appreciated the well maintained gardens more, wonderfully lit up at night.
The wide range of drinks at the bar was inviting.
The evening meal was a taste sensation and the staff were extremely pleasant.
The room was inviting, clean and very comfortable.
The breakfast had a beautiful self service and the full breakfast was cooked to our perfection.
Beautiful hotel.
Only down side no lift to 2nd floor.

The room was terrible see pictures, walls in poor state, no bedside tables, one useable socket, television high and on wrong wall only watch if lying on side in bed, shower dirty, paintwork peeling, toilet seat loose. Room incredibly hot (there before heatwave started) reported to reception and they refused to do anything about it. So bad we checked out early to find a decent hotel despite have prepaid for longer. The breakfasts in restaurant were poor quality. would not recommend staying in this hotel.

It was a really nice stay. The cabin we stayed in was quiet and very spacious. The only issue was breakfast was a bit chaotic, the toaster packed up and the coffee machine did not work. That said, the staff did everything to accommodate us. Overall, a really great stay and would certainly stay again when in the area.

Nice room with everything in and nice not to have to worry about taking shower gels as all provided but disturbed by noise as walls thin as was on top floor. Reported maintenance needed as toilet flusher broken and shower door not on runners. Tea and coffee provided is a good brand and plenty to choose from with variety given

When informed of my experience the staff moved me to a garden room, which whilst detached, still had average cleanliness - sit in the bath and view the dust and broken tiles, lipstick on walls near plug sockets. My original room (30) had broken thermostatic valves on the radiator, so fixed in the hot position, so wi dows open was a must. Cigarette ash and burns noticed on window cill, and the icing on the cake - a 'gift' in the toilet. Breakfast; microwaved scrambled eggs on 1 slice of toast day 1. Day 2 - i heard guests commenting how cold the bacon, sausage and mushrooms were, even the fired egg, so did without. Get the basics right and the rest sorts itself out.

Staff were lovely, breakfast was very good quality, but the room wasn't very clean and could do with some tlc, (mirrors dirty, something sprayed down the wall, carpet coming away at the door, thick dust on woodwork, curtains had stains on them) Very loud with a party downstairs so we didn't get to sleep until after 11.30.

Check in desk, polite reception. Disabled parking immediately outside the entrance to the hotel.
Standard twin for two,was, unfortunately on the top floor.
Offered a double on lower floor but we wanted a twin. Room very clean. Beds super comfy. Enjoyable meal. Irish coffee lukewarm, however a replacement was offered but we declined. Bottle of white wine expensive for what it was.
Our evening was spoilt by conflict between a male resident, and the female manager on duty.
It possibly could have been handled better although realistically, it isn’t always easy to do so.
Manager at check out, was very polite and professional. No charge for Irish coffee, and he apologised profusely for the evening experience putting a damper on our stay.
I have to say, the young staff on duty seemed to work very hard.

The evening meal that I had was only £18.50 so very disappointed that \"captive\" residents seem to be being targeted with high prices. Greggs was only 2 miles away so a bacon and sausage bagette and coffee for less than fiver sufficed. Ill be looking elsewhere now

A great find

This place serves as a lesson never to judge a book by its cover.

My heart sank as I pulled into the car park and found a building that looked, to me at least, a little past it’s best to say the least.

Then, although the receptionist was very efficient and polite at check-in, I climbed the stairs to my room with fear of an uncomfortable night to come.

The reality could not have been more different.

My room, (30), was large, supremely comfortable, spotlessly clean and very well appointed.

The rolltop bath was a very pleasant surprise, but there was also a fabulous walk-in shower.

All of the other nice to haves were also included - an iron and ironing board, quality toiletries, a well stocked tea tray, robes and slippers.

The restaurant downstairs was also a real treat, as was evidenced by the large number of locals dining there.. Fresh food, cooked brilliantly and with great service.

Breakfast was terrific too.

I have stayed in many much more expensive hotels and this place is a cut above the vast majority of them. I will definitely be back.

I stayed in one of the lodges adjacent to the car park. It was a good size. The windows were open when I arrived so it was very cold but it took very little time to warm up with the radiator.

A few things were disappointing. Firstly, the light switch was broken and has exposed wires which didn’t feel terribly safe. The remote control was covered with a sticky residue, which was thick and red. It may have been from someone spilling a drink on it. The TV did not have normal channels, such as ITV or Channel 4. It did have BBC2.

The room was advertised as having wifi, which was important for me since I was working. However, there was no wifi in the room at all, and no network could be found on any of my devices. Thankfully the 4G signal was good enough to tether.

The staff were lovely and both the evening meal and breakfast were very nice and reasonably priced.

Stayed in one of the garden lodges. The room was cold when we arrived quite late in the evening. Had to turn on an electric heater but that takes time to take effect. Would be bette if this had been turned on before our arrival. The room was noisy on account of the rain and the water fountain outside which could perhaps be turned off at night. Staff were very helpful in trying to book a taxi for the morning. The tap in the bathroom was hanging off.

I was in room 21 and it was so hot! I could barely sleep! The heating was off in the room and the windows were open. I even had a fan on which I take everywhere, but the room temp was just unbearable! At one point I had to soak a towel in the bathroom and cover myself with it to cool me down! I can only guess it was because it’s on the top floor where all the heat had risen.

Really lovely hotel. The staff were all extremely helpful and very friendly. I stayed in one of the lodges which was delightful, very comfortable room BUT, the washbasin is absurdly small. I’ve seen bigger saucepans in a caravan than this ridiculous plastic washbasin. Due to its insanely small size its impossible to wash your face or brush your teeth without getting soaked.! Superb bath & fabulous shower & ample room for a full size washbasin . Also the pretty water fountain runs all night and sounds like an irritating dripping tap. I did suggest they put it on a timer & switch off at midnight perhaps !! But overall a very pleasant stay & I would stay here again.
