Perfect location to be near U of M medical without paying a fortune. Near food, grocery and drug stores. Comfortable, clean and quiet rooms. I've stayed here several times and booking a premium room to have a fridge and microwave is the way to go. I'll be back

Do not stay here. Horrible customer service from front desk staff. Sheets had burn holes. Asked 3 times to have changed. 2nd time I asked I was given sheets to change myself. Weed smell is everywhere. Questionable guests. Yes it’s cheap. You get what you pay for I guess.

The room was in terrible shape. Replace the broken down patched up with duck tape chair, and make sure linens are cleaner (dead bug on pillow, hairs in sheets). This used to be a really good property....I was shocked at the state of the room quite frankly and was afraid to use the shower because wasn't sure it was clean.

The front desk lady was so sweet. She was very welcoming. However the room was dirty but it was late and we had an early appointment.
There’s mold or something on the box spring. All along the sides. The toilet had old urine and stool
On the seat and under the lid. The shower had hair on the walls and the floor had whatever that was on the bathroom area floor. I don’t know. This isn’t the first time coming here. About three years ago we were in the same situation late late stay over night just for a short period for the hospital appointment in the morning. We drive far away. So this particular room had vomit down the side of the bed and dried up drink on the counter. We switched to another room which that wasn’t better by far besides the dried up vomit wasn’t on the bed. This place isn’t strict on cleaning I feel. They may have meetings to ensure it but their workers I don’t think necessarily care. I think there should be a room supervisor inspector that inspects rooms before renting out.
This hotel should be a business that rents by the hour not the entire night.

The room was very dated and worn, without many of the modern amenities one would expect, like the ability to plug in your computer from either side of the bed. The morning desk clerk was the rudest hotel employee I have experienced in perhaps decades. Finally resorted to dealing with him absolutely wordlessly, which seemed to suit him fine. Paid for a \"Premium room\", I cannot imagine what a standard room must be like. They advertised DirecTV, but it didn't work, even for local stations, They just stated it wasn't working, no further explanation. The only real positive note it that is was extraordinarily cheap, a reminder that you get what you pay for.

The Room was clean upon check-in. It was cold, and took about 4 hours to finally warm up, and woke us up because it was too warm. We had checked in around 8 p.m.. There was only one shampoo and no creme rinse for 2 of us, and only one set of towels per each person. We were in town for a surgery early morning at u of m so it provided us the basic essentials we needed. I wouldn't want to spend 2 nights in a row but for the price it took care of the few hours we needed. It was very clean and for a budget motel it was awesome. We would definitely recommend for a quick cheap place to sleep without any frills.

Reserved an accessible room with King size bed, when I arrived was informed that room was occupied, even though I had a guaranteed reservation. Was offered an “upgrade” to a premium room (basically reg room with a few snacks, nothing more) room was not accessible which was the biggest issue since I am handicapped. Weather was starting to get bad so I felt had no choice but to take the room.
Next morning woke up at 6:30 to a non functioning toilet, went to front desk was informed no one could fix it until after 9, I would need to go to Panera next door to use the restroom. Couldn’t even get a plunger from the guy. Sun was bright during the day and melting snow had puddled on the sidewalk, knowing I had to leave early in the am for a Drs visit I asked if they could possibly put some salt down on the ramp as it was icing over, again told nothing could be done until after 9am the next day. Snow/ice should not be an unexpected thing to deal with in Michigan in the winter!! I have to come up every few months for visits, the location was perfect too bad that was the only perk.

When I return later this month, I'll take the key back (I forgot to drop it at the desk at check out). I wish there were instructions like hotels had in the past about returning the key by U.S. Postal Mail.

Terrible odor we could still smell beneath strong chemical fumes. Mattresses sagged, there was some kind of mold (?) on the bathroom wall, and everything was old and extremely used. Bathroom door handle had been “fixed” with painter’s tape. We didn’t feel we could stay, and left for the nearby Doubletree, even though it meant losing what we paid.

The room and hotel in general was an absolute dump. Pictures did not match the online booking photos shared. Listed was a clean newer looking hotel. Was we stayed in was a worn out filthy motel. Stains on bedding, water damage everywhere on moulding, drywall, furniture. My wife and I didn’t want to touch anything. Bathroom area had a cracked sink, broken drain, cracked toilet seat & I didn’t even want to look in the shower. Absolutely the worst place I’ve ever stayed and for $350+ a night I really expected something half way decent. We had an end room next to a stairwell, we could hear every single step people took on the stairs and the room above us we could hear their quiet’s voices talking and even the sound of them using the toilet (not just the flushing). Check-in was at 3pm & we weren’t finally let into our”available” room until after 6:30pm. The staff was friendly & seemingly did their best… I’ll give them that, but the quality of the room and hotel was terrible. Honestly I think the entire building should be knocked down.

When we booked this hotel, the photo on the web site looked much better than the actual property. Upon arrival, there was no sign directing us to the hotel. It was so run down looking that we thought we arrived at the wrong location. The room itself could use some basic improvements like paint, repairing water marks on the ceiling. The room also had a strong odor like someone had smoked even though there was signage everywhere stating it was a non-smoking room. On the positive side, the hotel agent (MGR) that checked us in was extremely polite and professional with a warm greeting. The bed was comfortable and had clean linens. It was a one night stay and that was the other positive thing. We would not recommend staying at this Red Roof location.

Needed to stay near work while my car is in the shop. Comfy, and when the guy who checked me in found out I worked midnights, he pointed out the original room I booked didn't have a fridge or microwave, changed it for mw for a the difference int room types ($30 total for 3 nights, not a bad trade off!) and moved my room to the quietest corner of the hotel for me, so I could get the best chance at undisturbed rest. If you are staying here and need a shuttle ride, CC, the man who runs the shuttle, is an absolute gem. I was expecting to ride a scooter to work for 3 days, I used the shuttle and it was a very pleasant and unexpected experience

I was unable to stay at Red Roof Inn as I broke my arm and medically not allowed to drive.
I contacted Expedia, sent pictures of my arm along with note from the surgeon.
I asked for a refund or a credit for a future stay and was told hotel wasn’t responding
I contacted RedRoof hotel, and they said they hadn’t heard from Expedia.
I got the run around and amazed that nothing could be done considering my situation.

As soon as we walked into the room all we could smell was mold. Didnt notice till next day, that the air conditioner had been leaking for some time. One 1 set of towel so we had to go get another set. The bathroom door looked like something got hungry and started eating it. There was something all over the top of the mini safe. When I checked the drawers the first one was falling apart and had nails sticking out. I could go on, but last time we stay at a red roof since we both woke up with headaches from the smell. The front desk person was pleasant. The room was not so great. The floor was wet, even though we arrived an hour after the check-in time. There was a distinct odor in the room that was not fresh. We put on the air-conditioner to help diffuse the odor but it made it worse. It smelled like stale cigarettes. The light fixtures were dusty and the microwave was not cleaned well. There were stains on the walls. The bathroom was dingy and the lighting in the room was poor. The room and grounds desperately need an upgrade. After being there for five minutes, we reserved a room at another property. We didn't request a refund because the room was bundled with our flights and I think it would have been too much of a hassle to dispute, even though I would've liked a refund. I would not recommend staying here.

A true dump that is not afraid to price gauge! I paid o we $500/night for a room with mold, peeling paint, lumpy pillows, inoperable telephones - even the light in the bathroom didn’t work, flickering on and off all night long!!
