I found the motel old and not up to standard. When you look up at vents in the bathroom you can see mould. Our pillowcases looked as though they hadnt been changed. There were a few stains on our towels. The size itself is great but i could not overlook the state of everything else. The walls are dirty and need cleaning. The doors have chipped bottoms. Its not very nice

Staff are nice. But that's the only thing...
Wayyyy overdue for a renovation - or a knock down.
Shower is tiny, and felt unclean. Bathroom is dark and grotty. Too scared to sit on the lounge chair. TV was out of the 60s, I'm sure.
I didn't pay much - but in hindsight it was probably too much.
There's lots of nicer places nearby.

The 1st room given was dirty, pillows stained, cracked basin and hair in shower, mildew in places. 2nd room was cleaner, pillows need replacing. Only 2 bath towels 1 small bath mat and 1 face washer for 2 people. Broken shower door hinge abd 1 cracked window and 1unable to be closed, due to broken handle and lock. Hallway carpets stained and loose rubbish. Afternoon staff tried to assist. Management responsibility, cleanliness is lacking and run down. Unfortunately everywhere else was booked.

Dated decor, but very clean.
Bar area very disappointing, nowhere to sit & have a drink as it was cluttered with trellis tables etc. Not inviting. Handy for the airport.
Overall great value (cheap as) compared to other motels in the area.

This place is not horrible it is just not good. There was music going late. The place was tired and outside the walkway there was a concentrated odor that was quite foul but did not extend indoors. There sheets were clean and everything worked. Skip it unless you are very budget concious.

The free airport shuttle was a yellow bus service. This should be stated as we would have made alternative arrangements. It was quite dangerous when the bus was full with people and luggage.

Signage for the room number was not clear. Ceiling was caving in, shower filled up with water(didnt drain properly), sheets didnt feel very fresh. Generally did not feel very safe here.

I thought the shower soap was nice, but perhaps could be fixed into shower for easy use. I have stayed at another Gateway Hotel and it was really good, hence why I picked this one. Clearly they are not the same and I wont be staying here again.

Hopefully, it is not the general rule, but as the room was handed over to me for an overnight stay at 13.00, it is hardly enough to represent it extremely.

One of the previous loggers had opened a terrace window.
The scissors lay either on the terrace or on the room floor.
The only seat was sewn with white paint syringes.
The actual patterns of carpets in the room as well as in the hotel walks were only to be seen under the deepest pollution.

The hygienic condition of the bathtub reads that the property has been shut down for a long time.

The only highlight of this accommodation could have been a smaller yakuzzi.
Unfortunately, only this one was well filled with tree waste.

How can an operator of a hotel have lost average price levels of any pride?

This is a very cheap hotel which is poorly managed. The pictures on the internet are not reflective of the property. The furniture is beat-up and old. The rooms are not clean. They did not have hand towels or wash rages available. Do not stay here.

Very disappointing stay!

Firstly not happy with the reception service and room service at start, in eight night stay only once they changed the bedsheets, no vacuum in the room during whole stay, washroom and toilet not cleaned once during whole stay.

I do not recommend this hotel based on my experience, and I hope management seriously improves their service standards.

Late arrival with early departure stay. Worst stay ever. On arrival the bathroom floor was covered in water. It leaks out of shower
Getting up in the am tea milk etc provided but no jug to heat up water
Try to have a shower. No hot water to the room. On checkout the front desk aware of problem. Has been like that for days
Have tried multiple times to discuss with manager but despite leaving messages at front desk they will not call me back or give me their mobile.

There were 3 of us and only 2 towels. Rang reception for another towel. It never arrived till I asked again in the morning and went to get it from the service staff. Same with cups and glasses. No plates. Utensils none, just an iceblock stick for stirring. Too many potholes on the drive and in parking area. Wont stay again.

After checked in, the property door entry to room was locked, reception said it should always open, had to walked a long way to the room. Clean room only the first night, but 2nd night onwards Not Cleaned, rubbish still there when got to the room in the evening, had to request daily for house keeping, if forgot a day request, no house keeping on that day, also had to asked for making beds and Sheets were Not Fresh, stuck with same sheets until checked out (6 nights), this is the 2nd worse Hotel came across with such poor services. Broken towel rail, soap from previous stay in bathroom, whole room needing renovation, not meet Hotel standard

The rooms were adequate, though the cleanliness could be improved, and the decor is appalling!
We didn't have breakfast there, but did eat dinner in the restaurant - in fact invited Auckland family to join us. We figured roast and lamb shanks of the day would be safe choices - we were wrong.
The meat - pork, lamb and lamb shanks were tough and chewy. The gravy is 'packet gravy', and even the vegetables were just frozen ones (and not heated up evenly). Overall, barely edible yet the prices were the equivalent of a decent restaurant. A disappointing finale to our New Zealand adventure.

Pot holes in the parking area, No internal lock on doors at hotel, dribbly water on showers and stuck key lock took a while to open the door with keys.

Bed had crumbs love that its big love the spacious room & setup inside esthetically just everything else around it ruined it couldn't get much sleep with no internal lock there was evidence the previous one had either broken off or been removed. The sliding door entrance bolted shut

Airport shuttle was very easy. Everything very dated and the room was the same. Shower was a bit rubbish and the door had a basic key and the back sliding door did not seem very secure.
We had a meal in the restaurant which was expensive and then the chef argued with me when i told him the meat in my chicken dish was actually pork. It took 4 of them and takung it apart to prove that chicken does not have fatty bits and is a different texture...... i didn’t receive an apology from him, but the restaurant manager gave us my meal free, which i couldn't eat when it was redone woth chicken that looked awful cuts.

Staff were awesome, location great! Check-in 24/7. Bench top was sticky when I arrived, and there was no bin in my room. Walls are thin, you can hear everything. However, if you're doing a late night airport run, this place will do the trick.

We booked here as we had to be at the airport at 4am and wanted to try and get some sleep before the early start. People (who appeared to maybe work here) laughed and shouted all night, we we got up to leave at 4am they were still up and talking loudly outside a fire door (hence why I think they were staff as it wasn't an accessible area. Would not stay here again.

Friendly, helpful service. Probably a flash place in the 70s, now very tired and hard to keep clean. But linen and bathroom were clean. Concrete floors in halls made for loud echoing noise, otherwise it was pretty quiet for the location. We chose it because it was cheap and the quality reflected that. Probably wouldn't stay here again.

I guess we got what we paid for.. the room was not very nice.. holes in the walls.. and the toilet kept us awake most of the night as it was running all night. Went to make a coffee in the morning no spoons! How ever staff were very friendly and helpful.

I arrived at 6pm and there was a large group of footballers gathered sitting in the lobby which made me feel uneasy being an older female travelling on my own. I was given a room right beside the entrance to all the motel rooms so I heard people talking, constantly walking past my room after they had been in the restaurant or bar or just coming home from somewhere else. My Aircon did not heat up at all just blew out cold air so I froze all night. The pillows were of very poor quality and some of the pillowcases used, were so old they appeared yellow stained. I assumed the motel had been well-maintained as it said it had a restaurant and bar in the write ups on the website. The entrance and exit doors to the motel rooms were kept wide open by a chair pushed against them which added to the draft coming into my room making it even colder. I didn’t leave the room the whole night just from a safety point of view for myself.

Its a simple does what it says on the tin sort of place , would use again if we were in Auckland for a convenient place to stop coming off a flight.

There were people fighting, banging on my room door, drinking outside my room and yelling. I felt unsafe, the phone in my room didn't work and I nearly rang the police. I had no sleep and I will never stay there again. Nothing was done by tge staff to stop the behaviour and you shpuldn't be running a hotel.
