we stayed when it was 35 - 40 degrees Celsius and they have no air conditioning. They did offer us a fan. The closest restaurant we found was 10 - 15 min walk away. We went for the museum which is close enough to walk and it was excellent.

No air conditioning in the rooms (but lobby has it). 103F / 39.4C (July 2019) is way too hot for that. Even when it cooled down, the room was still too warm.

The hallway to the room smells like a sewer. The bathroom smells like a sewer. The shower is tiny, leaks and has a cheap shower head setup.

On the plus side, the location is fantastic.

Very good hotel, few steps from Syper museum. It offers possibility of family rooms - two rooms together. Comfortable. Average/good wifi, not working everywhere. Average breakfast (still fine for a 3 stars hotels, plenty of room to improve). Walking distance to city, which offers plenty variation of restaurants. Better option compared to the hotel at technic museum, prices and quality

Great value for money in good location

This is a good value-for-money hotel in an excellent location. I had requested a double bed, but as I was single occupancy was given a single. This was fine though as the price was very good. The only thing that could be better is that there is no air-conditioning in the rooms and it was very hot during my stay.

Quiet comfort on Speyer.

The hotel is a little out of the way but an easy walk to the museum and the Dom.
Staff very friendly and helpful, parking available.
Bed awesome, room very clean, however a random sock was left from a previous guest under the chair. It wasn't bad, just attention to detail. No AC.
Would stay here again, easy drive between Stuttgart, Heidelberg and Strasbourg.

Booked and paid for a double room, after travelling for 12hrs I was issued with a single room. I was told this was because I was 'single' and the hotel was fully booked. I had observed someone walk in off the street directly in front of me and order a double room! I got one in the end. The temperature was almost 40 degrees, there is NO air con in the rooms and no fans to be got, had to take constant cold showers to cool down!

Great hotel, worthy of the Ibis brand. It's a good 25 minute walk from the train station but close to the Technik Museum. We stayed at Speyer to visit the museum. The hotel is spacious and modern with good size rooms, free tea, coffee and water in the lobby and a good breakfast room. Breakfast was the usual continental buffet but very good and plentiful. The staff were all very friendly and extremely helpful.

The Ibis is a perfectly acceptable budget hotel , the Wifi can be slow but generally okay and the local highway passes close to the Hotel so in Summer the road can be noisy if the window is open. Please note the rooms are not air conditioned

One of the best places to stay in Speyer.

When we arrived the check-in staff were very helpful and our room was very clean, comfortable and relaxing. The Ibis is a short walk from the Dom, Tech museum and has easy connections to motorway.

We had a very nice buffet breakfast, that had a very good selection of fresh fruit, yogurts and smoothies. This was a very nice change from the usual breakfast one gets in the area.

Our room was clean and comfortable. All of the staff were very helpful.

But watch out for some of the locals. They can be very rude, since there does not seem to be a German word for 'excuse me'.

This was short business stay of two nights. The Ibis chosen through price and availability on the date of travel. The room was entirely comfortable.

On arrival however there was no hand soap or shower gel in the bathroom, typically in a lower end hotel the toiletries are in a bottle bolted to the wall and both were completely empty. The bathrooms have always had an unpleasant aroma at this hotel, this room was no exception. Its bearable just keep your bathroom door shut. Internet was dreadful but its normally very good and the carpark was completely full which is surprising considering they charge you €5 extra to use it. I parked out on the road for free, this was not a great start. I left messages to have the bathroom refilled and all was good thereafter. The hotel does not serve any decaff coffee which is disappointing but overall a good hotel on a budget.

Solid performance

Very easy access to hotel via car. Five minutes pleasant walk to the center of this very beautiful town. Pleasant and helpful staff. Elevator was out during my visit but hey things happen. They changed my room down one floor to make the luggage situation easier. Breakfast was a bit more basic than I'd experienced in other German hotels but compared to the free breakfasts in the States, it was terrific. Room more interesting than comparable places I stayed and comfortable.

We stayed here during a four week motorcycle tour of Europe. The hotel was exactly what we expected, having spent time in other hotels from this chain. The location is very good for the Technik Museum but the hotel is a bit overpriced.

This is an excellent Hotel if you have the right room. Good, if not somewhat expensive, restaurant with a bar menu also available. Great Spa facilities and excellent if you can get the room on a deal rate. Would recommend. Restaurant staff let the service level down.

Cracking little budget hotel near the centre

We spent two nights here and I must say, for the price, it was very good value for money. Our requirements included free Wi-Fi, parking and breakfast and it was the closest hotel to the centre of Speyer - which was very close! Rooms were comfy and clean and the staff were eager to help and friendly. Don't be expecting a gourmet breakfast though as it's pretty limited and basic but having said that, I couldn't complain about the quality as I'm not fussy with food and it was all fresh and tasty. I recommend this hotel for those on a driving holiday.

This modern hotel was within walking distance to the cathedral, Christmas Markets and main street. It was also an easy walk to the Technic Museum. We booked a family room, and were given two adjoining rooms, so we had plenty of room. The breakfast buffet provided a great start to each morning.

The staff expected our lte arrival and were very knowledgable and polite speaking Engish without a problem.
the hotel is well designed with a light and comfortable public area.
Car parking is no problem and there is easy access to the centre of the town.

InterCity Hotel Speyer - please pay twice

Fine hotel, everything as expected. Just be carefull not getting a room facing the highway - that you will hear during the night.
I booked and paid the hotel through hotels.com - and that was ok when checking in and checkin out - but during the afternoon, the hotel called the company I visited, and said I had not paid. Really not the best service, when a hotel calls - and tell in the reception that you left without paying. Well, I explained the the case - and they never called back - so I guess this just goes under \"please pay twice\"...

Man merkt nun mal dass das Hotel nicht mehr ganz neu ist (Vonwegen Zustand).
Alle Angestellten sind aber sehr freundlich uns zuvorkommend.
Das Frühstück hat eine grosse Auswahl und ist lecker.
Die Sauberkeit könnte besser sein. Ein Verstaubter Seifenspender zb. ist etwas zweifelhaft.
Für unseren Zweck (Nähe zur Veranstaltung im Domgarten) war das Hotel perfekt.

Wir waren nun schon zum 3. Mal in einem Ibis-Hotel und wurden auch hier mit einem ganz tollen Frühstücksangebot verwöhnt, wirklich sehr gut 👍.
Zimmer sind funktionell eingerichtet, ein Kleiderschrank und ein Safe wären von Vorteil.
Die Mitarbeiter an der Rezeption und die Servicekräfte waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Mit Style hat das alles wenig zu tun. Einfach in die Jahre gekommenes Hotel. Badezimmer abrockt - sieht alles nicht sauber aus - ist es wahrscheinlich auch nicht. Zum Übernachten irgendwie ok - aber war froh dann auch wieder fahren zu dürfen. Frühstück für 18 € war dann ausreichend und gut. Einziger positiver Punkt während meines Aufenthaltes. Aber noch einmal würde ich das Ibis Style nicht buchen

Convenient location, our stay was great

We stayed in this hotel for our trip to the holiday park and the Technik museum. The hotel is conveniently located, close to both attractions, and the cathedral and the city center are within walking distance. During our stay, there was a street festival with roller coasters, food, drinks, and music right next to us, which was interesting for our kids to look at.

There was plenty of parking, breakfast was good with many options, room was comfortable, staff was very friendly. Upon request, a baby crib was brought to our room within minutes. Our small kids played happily in the play area next to the reception when we needed to wait. We are very happy with our short one night stay here.

Ich habe eine Nacht mit meinem 4 jährigen Sohn dort verbracht. Das Personal war durch die Bank weg sehr freundlich und emphatisch. Es gibt eine kleine Kinderspielecke in der Lobby. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber. Die einzige Ausnahme bildete der Fön mit einigen unschönen Haaren daran. Die Ausstattung des Zimmers war etwas abgenutzt aber dennoch gepflegt und sauber. Das Frühstück bot eine gute Auswahl und war lecker.

In direkter, fußläufiger Entfernung liegt der Dom, das Technikmuseum, das historische Museum, ein Schwimmbad, die Altstadt mit vielen Restaurants und Eisdielen und vieles mehr.

Wir waren sehr zufrieden und würden jederzeit wieder kommen. Vielen Dank an das tolle Team.

Das Hotel ist sehr gut gelegen. Mit dem Auto ist es gut erreichbar, mit ausreichender Anzahl an Parkplätzen. Auch mit dem Öv ist es gut erreichbar. Das Technikmuseum und das Zentrum sind schnell zu fuss erreichbar. Das Sealife ist etwas weiter entfernt, aber mit einem Spaziergang am Rhein auch zu fuss erreichbar. Der Weihnachtsmarkt in der Altstadt ist auf jedenfall einen Besuch Wert.

Das Bad allgemein und erst Recht die Dusche nicht sehr ansprechend. Für ein Comfort Zimmer war es schon recht klein. Kein geschlossener Schrank und nur drei Kleiderbügel.Vermutlich wird das Hotel immer nur für eine Übernachtung gebucht. Wir waren drei Nächte da.
Aber im großen und ganzen in Ordnung.

Das Hotel sieht auf den Fotos recht stylisch aus, hat aber keine schöne Lage und das Gebäude sieht trostlos aus und die Fenster sollten dringen ausgetauscht oder wenigstens gestrichen werden. Innen versucht man sich in Design, aber es ist nicht durchgängig. Die Mitarbeiter an der Rezeption sind sehr freundlich.

Naja,die Zimmer waren sauber aber eng ,vorallen das Bad.
Aber man konnte es aushalten.
