First of all, we had no car. We had planned to have one but Italy recently changed the law and the rental companies haven’t updated their contract language or online policies to make that clear. If you have no car, you will be trapped here. There is one restaurant. The breakfast is paltry and they run out of items. There is little fresh like fruit. There is no lunch available and the town is a far walk down a mountain road. They make no exceptions for this. The dinner starts later and the menu is limited. Otherwise it’s fine. The pool and rooms are not how they are represented in the pictures. Overall very expensive for what you get especially if you hadn’t planned to be trapped there. It’s not set up for you to be so. Updated pictures are needed.

This was absolutely the cutest, most rustic hotel! The bathrooms are a bit odd, but overall it was beautiful and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and very helpful! It was a very nice experience

A great hotel but pool open to the public!

Very friendly and clean hotel with an excellent pool. We had a great time but only after challenging the size and configuration of our family quadruple room that we were allocated upon arrival. The hotels.com photos do not represent the actual rooms on offer as the hotel explained to us and therefore this should be taken into account when booking. However the hotel were extremely accommodating and provided us with an apartment ( no air con) overlooking the pool which was fab and incredibly spacious. The pool is also open to the public at weekends which was a huge surprise and makes the area very busy. This should be made very clear on the website. However from Monday onwards it is a lovely experience. Personally the pool should be for exclusive use of residents only. The breakfast is excellent and the hotel public areas are very historic with many interesting artefacts from when the paper mill was in use. Overall we would stay here again.

Charming spot by the river

Lovely site just outside of Pescia among river and green hills, an old stone mill lovingly maintained. The pool was closed and the playground a bit worn but nice to have access to both. Charming out door space by the river, bar, and restaurant for breakfast downstairs. We loved neighboring Collito. Our room was large with many nice touches and wooden beams overhead and a separate adjacent room for our little boy. The on site restaurant for dinner was good and a good value for a 3 course dinner!

Ok hotel, room below average

Positive: Good pool area, nice main building and lobby area, charming surroundings, close to a very nice small village on the top of the hill (Vellano) with a great restaurant (Trattoria Manero) which has stunning views and great food.

Negative: small and dark room with one little window, only bedside reading lamp, no ceiling light, hard mattresses, bad service and food in the restaurant (not sure how they got the listed in the Michelin catalouge), 10 Euros deposit for pool towels, a bit run down bathroom, bad soundproofing.

Nice country setting

We really were impressed with San Lorenzo e Santa Catrina Hotel. The setting, the swimming pool and the surrounding countryside, bedroom size and bathroom couldn't be faulted. The only thing that needs to be noted is you need a car. We were travelling everywhere by train and this hotel is at least 3 k from Pescia so a very long walk with cases.

A great experience !

I chosed the hotel through internet and didn't really know what to expect. But this stay at the Albergo San Lorenzo - Santa Caterina in Pescia was above all my expectations !
The room was very comfortable with a modern bathroom . The staff was excelent , helpfull and friendly . The breakfast was wonderful and very varied .
And last but not least , the food in the restaurants was very nice .
Overall the price of my stay was cheaper than in most Europian hotels .
The only drawback of this hotel is: one need a car , because of the hotel being out of the town . But it is in a great central place for seeing Florence , Lucca and Pisa and other places !

Very Poor Bed comfort, Average Service

The Hotel was a Rustic style accommodation. The Location was great.The service was average. The Breakfast was average. The Room comfort was very poor, my two kids had to sleep on the lumpiest sofa beds that I have ever come across. Our bed had a firm mattress but it was incredibly creaky. The air con didn't work. The bathroom shower water went everywhere. To get our breakfast we had to walk out of the hotel about 100m to another building....I would not recommend this place at all.

in an industrial area! poor service and food

Booked 7 nights, stayed 3. In an industrial area, says it's walking distance from restaurants but it's not a nice road, you need a car here. Wanted to stay in this hotel as near to Lucca, hotel did not live up to its description. Swimming pool open only in restricted hours i.e. closes at 6pm and it's a bit of a walk from the hotel in a gated area. Not impressed with breakfast, kept running out of eggs, not many options. Did not compare at all with the friendly hotel we stayed in 2 years ago which was simple but delicious food. Fortunately there was a cancellation our previous hotel so we stayed there the rest of the holiday. When we explained to the staff at the San Lorenzo that we were checking out early they just made it difficult for us, they did not even ask why!!

Wonderful stay at hotel in beautiful location

My family and I had an amazing two nights stay at this lovely hotel. This is a perfect getaway retreat in a peaceful and beautiful location. We stayed in a suite with two rooms and a bathroom. It was clean and spacious and excellent value for money. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Food was superb! The complimentary Tiramisu at the end of our meal was heaven on a plate.

Wunderbar gelegen und mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Toll, was aus dieser ehemaligen Papiermühle gemacht wurde!

Der Pool ist fußläufig erreichbar, nicht überfüllt und völlig in Ordnung.

Das Frühstück auf der Terrasse in schöner Umgebung war für uns was die Auswahl betrifft wirklich ausreichend und lecker! Einziger Wermutstropfen: Brot und Brötchen hatten an beiden Tagen unseres Aufenthaltes , nun ja: Vortages- Charakter.

Et gammelt hotel, som helt sikkert har været godt i sin storhedstid. Værelset vi fik var mørkt, uden aircondition og med et enkelt vindue. Der var køleskab på værelset, men det virkede ikke. Da vi spurgte ind til det, fik vi at vide at vi kunne bruge det som bord, eller bare kigge på det. Sengene er stenhårde.
Der er en fin restaurant på hotellet. Priserne er høje, men generelt er kvaliteten ok. Vi valgte dog kun at spise der en enkelt gang, da der helt klart var favorisering af de “stort betalende” gæster.
Vi brugte poolområdet en del, og det er meget forfaldent. Fliserne er flere steder helt væk, baren som de siger er der, er der ikke. Kanten til poolen, er direkte farlig. Man kan skære sig på de sten den er lavet af, og vi fik mærker af at holde på den. Stigen er løs og føles usikker.
Morgenmaden på hotellet er lækker og nok det vi var mest tilfredse med. Men den koster også derefter. Hotellet er godt til en enkelt overnatning eller to, men ville ikke anbefale det til en længere ferie.

Det var et rigtig fint ophold og sted. Fin og velholdt bygning og poolområde. Eneste minus var det lidt mørke værelse og kedelige brød ved morgenmaden.
Hotellet ligger i ok afstand til både Pisa, Lucca og Firenze. Derudover er byen Pescia, der ligger tæt på hotellet, også også et besæg værd.

Necesita una reforma, al menos nuestra habitación.La habitación con tapa WC rota y bombilla fundida. Se avisa y no arreglan el wc.Se estropea aacc y no arreglan. Solo desayunos. Restaurante a 100 m abre solo para bodas, comuniones y similares. Tienes q ir al pueblo por una carretera de montaña sin arcén ni iluminación unos 2 km. Un peligro ir andando. Desayuno muy justito.
Una pena porque el lugar y el hotel es espectacular

Ruhiges, rustikales Hotel mit dem gewissen Charme

Schöne, etwas rustikale Hotelanlage mit sehr freundlichem Personal. Die Junior Suite ist groß und geräumig. Lediglich beim Frühstück gab es keine so riesen Auswahl, aber das was es zu Essen gab, hat sehr gut geschmeckt.
Die Lage hat uns persönlich sehr gut gefallen, da es abgelegen und ruhig war!

Wir können dieses Hotel sehr weiterempfehlen.

Vi har været meget tilfredse med stedet. Desværre synes vi, restauranten var noget mindre servicemintet. Vi blev sat i et rum for sig selv, hvor der i det andet rum sad dem, der havde bestilt mad med i deres ophold.I vores lokale var der meget larm og man glemte os ind i mellem. Der manglede et godt opholdssted udenfor selve hotellet, hvor man kunne hygge og snakke sidst på dagen. Ellers meget fint.

Relax in mezzo alla natura

Io e la mia famiglia abbiamo trascorso due giorni in pieno relax. Le ragazze hanno apprezzato molto la piscina.
Appena arrivati ci avevano assegnato una stanza un po' piccola per quattro persone, ma nel giro di dieci minuti ci hanno trovato una sistemazione fantastica. Personale molto disponibile e cortese. Ottime le due cene in albergo. Consigliamo vivamente questo albergo.

Un bon rapport qualité/prix. Hôtel un peu vieillot mais bien entretenue : chambre et salle de bain propres. Buffet du petit déjeuné correct, il y avait des fruits frais tous les matins. Hôtel bien situé pour visiter les villes de la Toscane du Nord (Pise, Lucques, Montecatini, Florence....)

Oasi di relax e benessere

Villaggio san Lorenzo, scelto come tappa intermedia per tornare a Torino dalla Calabria, si è rivelato molto di più. Incantevole, curatissimo con un delizioso parco giochi nel verde per i piccoli e una bella piscina . Oasi di benessere, di relax, vacanza mentale che ci ha compleamnente rigenerato. Posizione strategica a pochi minuti di macchina da Pistoia, Lucca e altre località meravigliose. Anche Pescia è molto carina e per i bambini che hanno letto il romanzo di Pinocchio, il parco a Collodi è assolutamente imperdibile.

Positivt, stort rum, bra pool, mysigt läge brevid bergen, ok frukost. Negativt: manlig personal inte särksilt trevlig - suckade mest, personal kunde knappt engelska, hade två restauranger och om det var busslaster med folk hade dom frukost/middag i en restaurang som kändes som en skolmatsal, Ingen EiFi på rummet, kände fjädrarna i sängarna... lite väl kall AC

Otroligt gemytligt och charmigt

Supermysigt, jättetrevlig personal. Underbart område och gott om utrymme, ligger fantastiskt mellan kullarna i Toscana. Dock lyhört och tråkig restaurang (bra frukostrestaurang som var en annan)
