There was no hot water in our room, the room smelled like feet, very loud at night and in the mornings since rooms have minimal soundproofing, also at least twenty mosquitos were waiting for us in the room after we checked in. From being bit by mosquitos all night to loud noises throughout, it was very difficult for us to get any sleep at all.

I booked a room with private bathroom, but I was shocked to learn that there’s no hot water in the room 2/building. We have a early flight to catch, even though the front desk lady offered us to have a shower in the shower the bathroom in the building across street, we didn’t have time to go through this. The room was cold, water was cold, and I got a cold and a fever in the middle of night. I have to say this was not a pleasant stay. I paid for a room with private bathroom with normal expectation there is hot water. But I was disappointed. I didn’t get what I paid for. I would like to request a refund.

If I could give zero stars I would! I don’t know HOW this place is open! I have pictures of dead mosquitos all over the walls of the room, the AC did NOT WORK IN THE ENTIRE BUILDING!! The staff was either not there or did not care at all about any concerns!! It’s a total scam! I don’t know how it has a 7.2 rating on Expedia!! Terrible! The shower had mold and was broken. The wifi never worked. The place and the sheets seemed dirty. I woke up to mosquito bites all over me. I want to report this place to the health department. Total scam! Don’t stay here!! When I told the people working there while I was checking out, they said come back at 12 and talk to the concierge!! But he was not helpful and again didn’t care. They just want your money. Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. You’re better off at a hostel!

Sadly, I can’t give a full review, because I never actually got to stay.
The air conditioning had already been out for three days before I arrived, and despite the staff being friendly, the best solution offered was: “Just open the windows.”
Fair enough, except the windows looked directly into the rooms across the alley. And while I’m no prude, I figured the neighbors didn’t sign up for a live, unfiltered view of me in my birthday suit.
They said maybe the AC would possibly be fixed by Monday (another three days), but for the sake of comfort and public decency, I found another place to stay.

Run, Don't walk away from this property!!!! We stayed in Room#4 and our friends stayed in #14. Many updates are needed here--the a/c unit in both rooms will blow cool (not cold) air for about 5 minutes, then they just blow air. The toilet seats were anchored to the bowl with 1 screw (in both rooms) In Room #4 the bed was so low to the floor that we might have just slept on the floor!! The mattress had things poking through the mattress. Also the mattress was stained. (see pics) The lamp on the nightstand tables -1 was missing the globe. (see pics) All in all 4 of us we were very uncomfortable for 5 nights we were there. Besides the walls & ceilings being in disrepair, with broken plaster from previous leaks, this Hotel needs an overhaul. Very Disappointing.

Although this was one of the most affordable options, the stay was not cheap and we were expecting at least a nice place to stay. I’m pretty sure we got bedbugs from the room. Additionally the bathrooms had a terrible smell and I was not sure the last time they were cleaned. It was supposed to be smoke free but the downstairs foyer smelled like smoke. At the end of our trip, the power kept going out just in our area. Although we appreciated that the hotel let us shower in the main hotel (as there was no hot water due to the power outages), it seemed like there was no urgency nor responsibility for the issues we faced.

It should be criminal to allow anyone to stay at this property. I consider myself a pretty fair and honest person and I’m telling you. DO NOT stay here unless you want to live a nightmare! We had just finished our cruise and needed one night. We saw that the place had air-conditioning and it was a tad bit cheaper than some of the surrounding hotels. The reviews weren’t the best, but we only really looked at the stars and unfortunately never read them. BAD MISTAKE! First off it is a grueling task alone just to get your luggage up the stairs. It is a long flight of very dark and steep stairs.That was the least of our worries as we entered the room that was absolutely filthy with dead mosquitoes everywhere and live mosquitoes flying everywhere. You do NOT have your own bathroom. They are communal bathrooms( 2 on our floor).There was no toilet paper in our bathroom/ towel racks,and no phone to call the front desk(which is an entire different building) We tried to turn the AC unit on and it was broken. It was sweltering in our room, so we went down to the front desk and ask that they fix it. The guy came up and said 4 other rooms units are broken as well and there’s nothing he can do about it because the gentleman who fixes them was not available. I kindly asked for a refund so we could go to a hotel with air-conditioning and they refused. We were forced to open the windows at night, where there was pigeons all over the place and poop everywhere and LOUD. I could go on and on!!

Hotel rooms are not cleaned regularly. Congested rooms only with 3feet small beds, full of bed bugs around, black fungus everywhere. No cleaning, no fan, no AC, windows broken, rooms full of mosquitoes. Matress almost 100 years old. Reception and management make false promises, no one present at hotel to talk to when in emergency or to complaints. I strongly recommend all, to consider health and safety of you and kids, and avoid avoid this at all costs a I checked out in 2 days due to safety issues, still waiting for refund which was promised but hotel don't bother replying. Someone need to contact police to close this hotel, as it's running by someone in Rome, not willing to talk to customer. Pathetic, worse stay of my life.

Hmmmm, where to start.......
Service: Best part of the stay. The front desk man was very nice and approachable.
Location: Super close the the train station (5min) and bus station (30 min). Awesome location in general.
Comfort: We got a room with a private bathroom. Bed was dated, but comfortable.
Cleanliness: Like others have mentioned, there were some squashed mosquitoes on the walls. There is some mold on varies places.The furniture, curtains, etc look like originals.
Overall: This place is a 2 star hotel. Curb your expectations as such. If the plan is to venture out during the day and only come back to sleep you are golden. If you want to spend any time in your room, spend the extra 100 bucks or so to spend a night at a nicer hotel.

The Adua was very close to the train station and super convenient to go anywhere in Venice. It’s just a bit old and run down but big queen bed and clean. Not many places to put down your toiletries or hang towels. Real simple and great for a few nights in the city.

DISGUSTING, DO NOT STAY!!!!! the reviews of this hotel absolutely deceived me. i booked last minute which was my fault. the great location, low price, and private room was enticing. however this is the worst hotel ive ever stayed at. BUGS BUGS BUGS!!!! ANTS MOSQUITOS FLIES!!! Dusty lamps! One is even bedazzled by some previous guest. They did not bother to replace it. Gross bathrooms that are not deep cleaned. The grout is stained orange (sign of bacteria) The bath mats look extremely worn.
There was a dead smooshed fly on the wall when I checked in. Cleaning service came in after and did not clean this. There was a bottle cap in my room as well after I checked in. When I asked for compensation it was ignored, and was just met with a guy that sprayed the area for ants. Check in was also extremely strange. The guy was clearly in a rush and showed everything to me very quickly. I found it rude and abrupt. I felt like I was chasing him with heavy luggage down the alley and up the stairs. Please if you care about your sanity do not fall for these reviews. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!

One of the worse bookings of my life! The place is full of ants all over bedding and bathroom. Pillows looked like it had urine all over it. Smelly, mold all over shower. Towels felt like a brillo pad. Room smelled like it had mold. Very stuffy. I had to walk away from the hotel and now they refuse to refund my money. Bathroom is shared so urine all over the toilet. Sink and shower full of hair. No one cleans it. Bugs running all over the floors, they actually leave a bottle of bug killer knowing how many bugs they have. Very steep stairs, would not recommend to anyone that can’t walk up. I’ve never left a bad review for any place I’ve stayed. This took me to a level that I had to leave a review. No one should be staying here. Unhealthy environment! The noise between rooms has no filter. Volume is as if your in the same room.

Close to the train station, has luggage storage, lots of shopping and food nearby, and helpful staff. It reminded me of staying in a cute guest house rather than a basic hotel. You do need to be able to carry suitcases up a flight of stairs.

Es un hotel familiar, limpio con habitaciones muy basicas pero por el precio que pagas esta muy bien.
El personal muy amable.
El hotel esta ubicado en un barrio muy tansitado, al lado de tiendas, supermercado y transport public. A 20 min caminando del puente de Rialto y 30 min se la Piazza San Marco.
Lo negativo son los mosquitos en las habitaciones y ruidos de los otros guespedes poco respetuosos.

Overall, our stay was okay. Initially we were put in a room which had a lot of mosquitoes and was not very clean as noted by the dead bugs on the walls which had not been removed prior to our check in. However, when we complained to the front desk staff they did change our room and that one was much better. The location of the hotel is excellent especially if arriving by train as it is only a few minutes away. Please note that the entrance to the annex is down an alley which seems very common in Venice but it would be great if the hotel could add a light for guests to make it less daunting at night. Wifi was available but not very strong which was fine for us as we spent a lot of our time outside of the hotel. The entrance to the hotel (main and annex) is only accessible via stairs so definitely avoid if you use a wheelchair or stroller. One big ask for the hotel would be to provide a sign that allows guests to opt out of daily cleaning by housekeeping. We were very surprised to find our room cleaned when we returned after the first night and our stuff had been moved (nothing was taken) but this is a service that we usually prefer to be optional.

The room was small but that was expected. There was a sink in the room and a shared bathroom with another room. It's important to note that there are a lot of stairs to get into the apartment and then even more stairs to get to the room. No elevator. The owners knew enough english to get by but were not fluent. Overall, the room was priced appropriately. Nice accommodations for the cost.

The only negative was we had to carry luggage up 2 flights since there was no elevator. However for the price I would do it again. Also never even saw other guests so the 2 bathrooms on the floor was never a issue.

The hotel was in a perfect location, very close to the train station and the main sites! We were allowed to leave our bags the next day after check out so we could explore Venice without them which was really helpful. The room was a little noisy at night as you can hear through the walls very easily in the annex building. Over all though we had a lovely stay!

The rooms were bare bones and it provided a place to stay. The amenities are minimal. If all you need is a bed to stay, this place is ok. The staff were friendly and provided information requested and able to provide some amenities upon request. There is a long stairway with no elevators. The wifi was very spotty.

Centre location but we had to haul our luggage up 15 stairs. (5 suitcases).. only to be told that we have to go to another building nearby, where the room was on 2nd floor.

Room didn’t look like anything in pictures. 180 degree opppsite. Shared bathroom with others- that wasn’t informed while booking.

Mosquitos in the night. Lots of street noise.

They agreed for us to leave our luggage for few hours but essentially told us to leave it in a closet which had tons of junk lying there. No locks! We decided to rent a locker at Piazzale Roma.

Location is great but the overall feel of this hotel is thats its more like a hostel. The bathroom is shared which is fine but the other guests were very loud which made it hard to rest. We had a sink in our room but it leaked tremendously if you turned it on so we couldnt use it. Its a fine place if you just need to rest your head a couple of nights but I would not return here if I could avoid it.

Uhmm...location-wise, this hotel is perfect. Besides that, I can't think of any other positive things to say about it. The building itself is pretty old and creepy. The beds are hard as rocks. There are no screens on any windows so there were mosquitos EVERYWHERE in this building, including in our room. Needless to say, i got eaten alive. Also, this place has a shared bathroom. You don't get your own. you do have to go up a lot of stairs, which isn't ideal if you have a lot of luggage. Also, the main office for this hotel isn't actually in this building. It's a couple doors down. I would probably never stay here again.

We checked in at the main desk which was up a flight of stairs. Note, if there are two or more of you, it might be worth leaving your luggage outside with one of you as once our passports were copied we were taken back downstairs and down the side alley to the building with our room. The were three security doors which made us feel safe. The room itself was quite basic but had a comfy double bed, sink, good air conditioner and a tv with decent selection of channels. There were two shower/ toilet rooms for three bedrooms which were both clean. The maid came every day around 9-10am to change the towels and make the bed.

The location was fantastic with supermarkets, bars and atms on the same street. It was about 15-20 mins walk from all main landmarks.

We chose this hotel as its the cheapest in the island without having to commute in by bus. We were only here for 2 nights also so we wanted somwhere central. You do have to get a water taxi to places like St Mark's square but that's to be expected, walking in the heat is quite tiring. The alleyways nearby are also a joy to explore. The hotel owner was a very lovely lady and gave us a map with all sorts of useful places to see and prices for all the attractions! She was really helpful and friendly. The room is basic but very clean and the AC worked so that's all we really needed! However there was a dog staying next door (I'm not sure if it allows pets) and it was barking a lot and scratching the door as the owners were out. Not a big deal but if you're scared of dogs it would be a bit disruptive. Other than that I have no complaints - a great budget option.

Annex is located beside the adua hotel, we have to climb 4 flights of stairs to our room, it was very hard with luggage
There’s no shower door so they just put a shower curtain
There was ac so it was fine
Need to refurbish , provide better beddings , linens and towel

I think the rooms on the bldg itself is better than the rooms in Annex

Excellent location in Venice, steps from the bus terminal and train station! Fantastic restaurants and pastry shops nearby and its alongvthe main drag leadung to all the major sights. The room was clean, quiet and well air conditioned. There are stairs required to get to the hotel both on the streets (bridges) and inside. The bathroom is a cozy space but there was a sink in our room. Highly recommend and would stay there again.

My room was not in the main hotel building and was in the next building on the first floor with 25 stairs and no elevator. The main Plus point is the location. Very near and easily walk able from the Venice railway station. Breakfast was at Euro 5/pp but not sumptuous at all.

Hotel is 5 min walk from train station. Perfect location to walk to nearby monuments. Bed needed new mattress but for a one night stay it was very good. I still recommend.

Alright for a budget 1 day tour to Venice.

It was neither a great nor a bad experience. We had selected a room with a double bed initially. We were 2 people with a couple of suit cases each. While booking the hotel we did not realise that the reception is on first floor and there is no lift to get to the reception. So we somehow carried our luggage till the reception to find out that our stay has been booked in another building owned by Adua. The staff was friendly and helpful enough to consider our luggage and give us another room in the building that we got into. So in case you have a lot of luggage, be mindful of the staircase. The other issue was using the toilet in the morning. As we had a shared toilet it was clean the day we checked in, but unfortunately it was not clean at around 10 in the morning the next day, when we required the toilet the most.

Good choice for budget travelers

After arrive I found the room I booked need to share the bath room. Need read fine print for my next booking. Bed room and bath room were clean. Can not complain too much as the price is most cheapest I can find in this expensive tourist city with good location close to every thing.

Old school in Venice

This is an old school place in Venice. I've been 4 times in the past 17 years. The area was great, the room size was great. Sistine a bathroom was never an issue. There was no lift, but I assumed that. It was fun to walk down the little alley and go to our place. It isn't new by any means and the floor was a bit slanted.

One night in Venice

The owners were super nice and even allowed us to leave our baggage after check-out so we could still enjoy the city until our train departure. The room was in a very old building but had everything we needed, bed, bathroom with hot water, and even AC. It was only a short walk from the train station. Perfect place when traveling on a budget!

Great hotel for a short stay

We only stayed two nights in the hotel, and it was great. The location is good, at proximity of the train station and bus station. There is lots of restaurants surrounding it. The room is a bit out of fashion, but it is comfortable. I recommend this hotel!

Meh.

This place is just very mediocre. It's not very clean and it's not very nice and it was very hot inside the room, like we were sweating through out the night. The shower was really the only positive thing about this hotel and also the fact that it was so close to the train station.

Comfortable, close to station

The hotel is very close to the train station. The reception is on the second floor and our room was on the third floor. It might be challenging for carrying big luggage. The room and bathroom were very comfortable. Also, there was a space for preparing our own breakfast with plates and cutlery provided. We had experienced a few communication difficulty due to language barrier. Overall, it was a good night stay.

Nice tiny balcony to stand on.

Welcoming staff, allowed us to leave our bags after we booked out. Room was good but slightly small, with a good view of the main shopping street and a small cute balcony. Near to station and tourist areas.
