The city is simple and the thermal spa was wonderful, we had fun on the funicular. I booked 2 rooms by mistake and they fixed my problem. Marianne was very helpful

Look at hotels nearby before booking this hotel

It's the worst hotel I have been to this year. The room was too small. Breakfast doesn't correspond to the category of 5-star hotels. Stuff asked us every breakfast would we have dinner at the hotel restaurant?
The plumbing is old and noisy, the water doesn't always stop after the toilet flush is used.
In addition for all the abovementioned the man who was at the reception desk wrote in our check-out bill spa treatments for 90 EUR. All the arguments that we didn't use massage in the hotel were not heard. Only the argument that the spa was closed when we were checking in at the hotel influenced him to write off the massage fee regretfully.

Nice enough but don’t pay for the spa

The hotel is a 5-star hotel but a far cry from other 5-star hotels like the Hotel Excelsior Vittoria in Sorrento. But It’s modern and suits one’s needs just fine. We had a balcony with a wonderful view of Montercatini Alto. The location is ideal, a short walk down tree lined streets to the park and Ristorante Gourmet, perhaps the best meal we’ve had in Italy. The rooftop pool is small but sufficient enough for wading and sunning oneself with panoramic views. We opted for spa access and we’re extremely disappointed. The Turkish bath wasn’t working, the door handle on the ice shower is falling off, the emotional shower was barely a mist and pointless, and the jets in the main thermal pool were temperamental; They wouldn’t respond to us pushing the button to turn them on. The sauna was the only thing that seemed to be in proper condition.

Nice hotel......but.

Hotel was very nice, if a bit minimalistic. From the way the room was set up, it seemed more suited to a single business person rather than a touring couple. €20 per night for hotel parking was steep, especially as the only other option was street parking with charges. Staff were very friendly and breakfast was enjoyable. The location was pretty good within Montecatini and the town is in a good position to visit both Florence and Pisa.

New hotel, very modern and clean. Close to the center but very peaceful. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The only complaint we had when we arrived for breakfast at 8 am the first 2 days, there was nothing there to eat. They had a big group of people right before and the buffet was almost empty. We were not asked if we wanted coffee and couldn't figure out how to get it. Once the group left, we received the service we should've had from the beginning.

Spa Hotel in Montecatini

Chose this 5 star hotel primarily for its spa facilities which I have to say were excellent. However did not realise that usage was not included in the room rate - an additional cost of Euro 24 per person per day. Room was small but looked to be recently refurbished and very clean. However mattress very hard (and I like firm beds) so slept badly. Air con in room was just about adequate. Hotel was generally expensive for what was offered and not considered good value.

Superb value and a real treat

Without a doubt on the best bang-per-buck hotels I’ve used in Italy - and I’ve used hundreds.

Great hotel with fantastic staff, great facilities (the rooftop pool is excellent), clean, modern . . . Crazy good value for the price.

The onsite restaurant is really good too. A little pricey but the food is of a high standard, and the service really good too.

We found this hotel to be as the website states, its not worth the rate unless you are on business, there are plenty of hotels in town if you don't want to spend what this hotel wants per night. facility has been renovated recently so the rooms are good, quite and everything seemed to function properly.

Staff was a bit cold and couldn't really help with the questions we posed, so do some planning in advance. Location is good and a short walk to restaurants and the town square.

European breakfast was included in our rate and it was very well laid out and the staff in the restaurant was really quite good.

Great place to stay. Highly recommend. Make sure you ask them to cut the door perimeter lighting off at night, as there is no way to do it from the room. It will keep you up at night otherwise.

We loved our stay at this hotel!
DECOR: From the moment we reached the property, we were impressed with its beauty and splendor on the outside, which was also reflected inside. The main areas were immaculate and the design made you feel as if you were staying in a luxury hotel in Milan or Paris. There were many comfortable seating areas, both outside and inside the lounge.
PARKING: We had no problems finding street parking and after buying parking passes for each day, we were given great instructions on where to park (and where not to).
ROOM: We got a suite that slept 4 (king bed and sofabed). Nice shower in the \"master\" bedroom separate from the main bathroom, which had a wonderful jacuzzi tub.
AMENITIES:
- The hotel restaurant served a wonderful, full breakfast, and expensive, but delicious dinner.
- The rooftop pool was not huge, but large enough for several people to enjoy at the same time. It can be windy on the roof and therefore, the pool can be colder than expected. There were plenty of lounge chairs, unbrellas and sun beds with canopies. The bar was fully stocked and the bartenders helpful and attentive.
- Didn't use fitness or business centers.
STAFF: Every staff member greeted us each time they saw us, were very helpful.

DOWNSIDES:
- Room: while our room was generally well-maintained and our requests for help quickly met, there was a disturbing reddish stain on the wall by the bed, no plug in bathtub, and no pool towels in our room.
- Elevator is small and slow

Definitely a 5 star and staff was very accommodating. If you are wanting to experience the true Italian atmosphere I would recommend an older hotel with character. This was very modern ans had rhe New York. Las Vegas feel inside.

Recommended, but.....

We arrived at this very sleek, modern (redone in 2014) hotel. There is no drive up. Luggage has to be taken from the street into the lobby (about a 70 ft. walk). There was a bellman to help. Lobby area is very small, but there are adjoining sitting areas, and beautiful outside areas to sit. Greeted beautifully. Receptionist escorted us to our room and pointed out amenities.
Bed is low to the floor. We found out turndown service was only til 8PM (and not a minute later)!
We asked about walking, driving, funicular, etc. at the front desk for the 2 days we were there. Advise, we found out was wrong. (The staff should be trained on options around town.)
The hotel was a bit costly, but breakfast and spa facilities were included in our rate.

Great Hotel, new and sleek.
Some good staff member, however many are in training and don't take initiative. Would be an advantage if many of the staff spoke English also.
In terms of comfort, the beds are very hard in fact you could feel the inner springs. The hotel had to include additional cussioning day 2 just to make the beds sleepable.

The hotel was very modern with a black and white décor. The hotel is set away from the main centre of the resort but within easy walking distance of shopping, dining and railway stations. We were greeted at the hotel entrance on arrival which I though was a nice touch. After booking in we were given a short tour of the hotel facilities which included a nice roof top swimming pool with great views over the town.

Sono stato più volte all’LHP Hotel Montecatini Palace & Spa e questo, di per sé, dice già molto: quando si torna, significa che l’esperienza complessiva convince. L’hotel è elegante, la struttura è davvero molto bella e le camere sono pulite, ben tenute e curate.

Qualche piccola nota di miglioramento c’è. Le porte delle camere, ad esempio, non sono completamente isolate: qualche rumore di troppo può farsi sentire. Inoltre, a seconda della stanza, la vista può dare su tetti o impianti di climatizzazione… non proprio cartolina toscana, ma nulla di drammatico.

Nota di merito assoluta al buffet della colazione: semplicemente eccezionale. Ricco, di qualità altissima e con una varietà che invita a prendersi il proprio tempo. Davvero “wow”. Il personale in sala colazioni è sempre gentile, sorridente e attento.

Alla reception ho trovato professionalità e correttezza, anche se l’entusiasmo varia a seconda del momento: a volte molto cordiali, altre un po’ più… sobri. Nulla di grave, ma c’è margine per rendere l’accoglienza ancora più calorosa.

In alcune stagioni si trovano camere di categoria superiore a prezzi molto interessanti, il che rende il rapporto qualità-prezzo ancora più convincente. In sintesi: un buon hotel, con grande potenziale e dettagli migliorabili. Ci torno volentieri e sono curioso di scoprire cosa sarà cambiato la prossima volta.

Das Zimmer war ok, wir hatten das superior Zimmer im 5. Stock. Das Bett wurde als Queen Size betitelt ist aber nur 1,60m breit. Die Matratze und Kissen waren Ok. Mehr aber nicht. Das Badezimmer ist sehr klein und hat so gut wie keine Ablage Möglichkeiten. Die Toilette steht so in der Ecke das man schräg drauf sitzen muss. Das ist nicht normal und sehr unbequem. Zudem muss man hier extrem aufpassen was man wo liegen lässt im Zimmer. Bei uns wurde aus der Handtasche meiner Freundin 100€ von Ingesamt 220€ die Sie in der Tasche hatte geklaut. Aus unserem Safe (klassischer Hotelsafe mit PIN Vergabe relativ Neu) wurden aus unerklärlichen Gründen von unseren 900€ Bargeld weitere 300€ entwendet. Nach Rücksprache mit der Hotelleitung und Auswertung der Flur Kameras wurde uns mitgeteilt das an diesem Tag 3 Leute zu unterschiedlichen Uhrzeiten in unserem Zimmer waren. Einer zum Kaffee auffüllen 3 min, Kaffee steht am Safe und war gar nicht leer! Andere 15 min zur Reinigung zu dritt und abends jemand 5 min für Hygiene Artikel. Laut Aussage des Hotels kann es nicht sein das jemand etwas ohne Beschädigung aus dem Safe klauen kann. Naja, dass ist sehr ärgerlich und trübt die Stimmung zu diesem Hotel.
Zum Pool gilt es noch zu sagen das er relativ klein ist und das Wasser sehr Sonnencreme film lastig ist.
Essen am Frühstück war gut.

Een fantastisch hotel. Alles is brandschoon en de service is van hoog niveau. Niets is teveel gevraagd. Het ontbijt is zeer uitgebreid, met naast het buffet ook de mogelijkheid om gerechten vers te laten bereiden. Het hotel ligt in een rustige omgeving en binnen tien minuten wandel je zo het charmante centrum van Montecatini in. Zes jaar geleden verbleven wij hier ook al en het hotel is sindsdien perfect onderhouden.

Onze bijzondere waardering gaat uit naar Nadisha, die ons elke ochtend hartelijk ontving bij het ontbijt en ons ’s middags bij het zwembad even vriendelijk en attent hielp. Dankzij haar en de rest van het team, dat steeds proactief inspeelde op onze wensen, voelden wij ons echt welkom en volledig verzorgd.

Disappointing stay. Partly due to the hotel. We came to take Thermal Baths. The reception did not have any information. And finally we found out that all establishments that used to offert Thermal Baths had closed down after the pandemics.
The asked for twin beds, got a small queen size bed. AC did not work. And sleeping with open window was impossible due to barking dogs.
The breakfast very good. Good service in the breakfast room.

Le Wifi ne fonctionnait pas dans la chambre. L'isolation est médiocre (réveillé par la chasse d'eau du voisin). Il faut enfoncer la porte de la chalbre tellement elle est dure a ouvrir. Pas d'endroit pour poser sa valise. La baignoire (pas de douche) est sous les toits donc impossible de se tenir debout pour se doucher, avec les savons accrochés au mur, il faut etre gymnaste pour se doucher.
L'air conditionné ne fonctionnait pas.
Je ne recommande pas vu le standing affiché par l'hotel et la prestation reelle que vous avez sur place.

L’hôtel est très bien mais il n’y à vraiment rien à faire à Montecatini.
Piscine sur le toit un peu petite et prise d’assaut par les italiens qui laissent leurs serviettes toute la journée pour bloquer les transats (comme ils le font de partout)
