Staff was extremely helpful and amazing the whole stay. Rooms and building are clean.
There is valet parking next to the hotel (not associated with the hotel) and you can walk right out onto the beach. Will definitely stay there again!
There was a gentleman outside the hotel that plays his guitar and just gave it the perfect beach vibes. 10/10

Amazing Hotel!!! Our friend who lives near by was with us when we checked in so they gave us a free upgrade to a more “spacious” room. This included a pull out bed and a balcony with a gorgeous side view of the beach and the restaurant and walkway below. Staff was super friendly and helpful and we always felt safe. It is a smaller hotel (12-15 rooms) but still amazing service. There is a restaurant below the hotel that is great as well. It can be a tiny bit noisy just because of the restaurant and how small the hotel is but it was never an issue. Only downside was no parking but that is 90% of hotels on the boardwalk. But there’s plenty of valet options that on the same street and again worth the money spent. Will definitely be booking here again the next time I’m staying in Santa Monica!!!

Fantastic little hotel / kitchenette room, excellent facilities right on the beach front, room had everything you required, clean comfortable bed Wi-Fi, power shower, hotel staff were fabulous, great communications, vast knowledge of the area, great links to Santa Monica pier Venice Beach canals, bars restaurants souvenir shops, fantastic area, loved my stay sure to be back 5 ⭐️

It was difficult to find. They have two or three parking spots that they have reserved for check-in. I stayed in one of the cottages. It was extremely cold in California and there is only one heater in the hole of the cottage and that's the main bedroom. The floor was extremely cold. There were some cobwebs and spiders. The main bedroom had a larger bed, maybe a queen, but it was very cheap furniture and a very cheap mattress that was set on springs, not a boxspring, so it was very bouncy. They had curtains but they were not blackout drapes and since that was the more quiet bedroom, that's the one I stayed in. Unfortunately it's very bright at night and there was a motion sensor light in that alleyway that kept getting triggered. Parking is not cool. I realize it's the beach and you pay for the access to the beach. Don't expect to park your car cheaper than $50 a night in a nearby lot. You also have to leave your keys with a lot attendance or go in the morning and give them to the attendance. I think on the hall it was the wrong time to be there and I think it would be much better stay if they spend a little more on the furnishings so that was comfortable since it's about the only thing in there

It would be very difficult to beat Su Casa for location and value!
It is located right on the beach front with a lovely little outdoor dining area.
Our accommodation was a very nice self-contained unit looking directly out over Venice Beach.
What made this so special for us however, was the exceptional service afforded to us by the lady on duty at the reception desk.
We had a very late evening flight to catch and she very kindly arranged a place for us to rest and shower before our departure at no extra charge!
She probably will not appreciate me telling this story as now everyone will ask for it lol!
If you are looking for something affordable on Venice Beach, this place would be very hard to beat!

We had a wonderful stay! Room was clean, updated and lovely. It is next to the beach! We had a beautiful balcony and could see the beach from there.
We enjoyed Su Casa and would stay there again, but there were a few things that might be a problem for some folks…The hotel sits above a restaurant (The Fig, if I remember right) it was quite noisy both nights. We didn’t have a car so it was not an issue for us, but there is no parking. Also, it is a bit tricky to find. Our Uber driver dropped us in an ally, you have to walk around the building, the entrance is kind of hidden in the restaurant’s outdoor eating area.

Highly recommend Su Casa

We had a great stay at Su Casa. Excellent location, right by the beach but quiet through the night. Our room with kitchenette was very well set up and spacious. We loved having a balcony with seating off our bedroom too. The staff were very helpful, going well above and beyond to help me when I asked for assistance. We would definitely recomend Su Casa and hope to return ourselves.

Pros: Right on the beach. It gets surprisingly quiet after 11pm. Fig Tree restaurant is be low the hotel and is very good.

Cons: You can not drive up to this property so it is very confusing if you are arriving with a car. Parking is challenging, be prepared to park a few blocks away and get up before 8am to move the car. The windows are screwed shut so you can not enjoy the sea breeze. The pullout couch is very cheap and very uncomfortable. Did not have kitchen supplies stocked and only two bathroom towels for 4 registered people.

Su Casa was a great inn for Santa Monica. We're right on the beach so it was easy to go surfing, walk the beach, and grab good food. We had the queen suite--suite was clean and we had everything we needed for our 3 day stay.

Good for: having a home base to explore downtown Santa Monica by foot.

Avoid if: you need parking or if you're turned off by locals being locals.

Everything about the hotel is great. Note, that there is no elevator and overnight parking is 1/2 block away, but temporary parking is on-site. It gets noisy on the sidewalk with music, skateboarding, singing, laughing, etc, but that is also what makes Venice Beach great. If you want quiet, stay in a suburb away from entertainment and water.

We got intimidated by them on arrival and they are so so so noisy. We were kept awake till midnight by people swearing and yelling and then worked up at 6am with more of the same

If you had kids they would be subjective to swearing and people smoking and loitering out front. Not Hotels fault but can’t be ignored

It’s in a nice location on the boardwalk. The restaurant downstairs gets loud, hard to sleep in when the kitchen staff is getting ready and you can hear everything. Can’t really leave your room windows open because the restaurant guests are loud. The room was hot and stuffy, I asked for help with the ac, the front desk attendant tried to help but it didn’t make a difference. The hotel attendants are friendly. There is a rehab next door and the men sometimes stand outside to smoke and stare at you. The room was big and clean, pillows are not soft and my neck hurt in the morning.

Did not like that there is no parking unless you pay 50.00 per night and most of all that when you have to leave or return you have to walk by a rehab house full of men sitting out side that I’m sure have done some kind of criminal activity because they are designated to stay in that place but we took our teenage daughter to celebrate her birthday and two of her girlfriends and they would make remarks every time they would go to the beach it was very disturbing and felt so unsafe the whole time

I love this place, it's amazing to wake up and with so much light and the seabreeze. A few things, most of the windows are screwed shut, probably for safety reasons. It's pretty loud until about 10-11pm. Not a big deal if you wear earplugs and have a white noise machine. All that really means very little to me because of the location and the view...

Overall this was lovely: very friendly check in and the accommodation was beautiful and clean. The music and restaurant noise did stop by around 10pm but when the early shift started around 4am there was a lot of noise and loud music which made sleeping difficult afterwards. There was an issue with the electrical power: the lights kept flashing in the main room and the ceiling fan in the bedroom would start then stop and the light would spontaneously turn on..this was all without any touching of the remote so we had to turn it off. It was hot and the fan would have been helpful. The phone chargers in the bedroom didn't work even though there seemed to be power initially so I wonder if the electrical supply is coming in and out, which might be an issue. I would ask for an additional way to boil water for people who like tea rather than coffee. I used a saucepan but almost burned my hand on the handle.

Lets start by noting the location is fantastic...not an ocean view but literally steps from the beach.
We stayed in the cottage and it is spacious- LOADS of space for 2 people.
There were a few niggles... its a bit noisy, its part or The Fig restaurant and its beside a 12 step centre which is busy during the day. At night there's a heat pump fan that runs constantly. Not too bad in back bedroom we used but front bedroom might be a bit much.
Furniture and dishes etc is a bit basic...and not really adequate for two couples to share.
for example there is a dishwasher but no kettle..
All said we would stay there again!!!!

Everything was perfect except the way they requested checkout ! It Was in a very bad behaviour ,11:45 am a guy knocked when we were sleeping and then few seconds later he opened the door ! And asking in a very bad manner u have to leave now ! Right on Venice beach! Gorgeous view of the ocean. The room was larger than I expected, very clean, bed was comfortable. The location is near all the action, restaurants and shops, which means it was pretty loud, but if you are going to stay near everything you should expect the noise. About a 20 min ride from LAX, not bad ride back to LAX during morning rush either.

Venice Beach changed for the worse...The room was clean and the kitchen/living room area is very spacious.
You need to drive through the alley and no parking at the front of the hotel, only limited (if not taken) spot to unload your luggage and rather quickly behind some private property. Then you need to look for the free parking overnight, paying attention to street cleaning signs.
Homeless people everywhere, especially on the side of the boardwalk so you do not feel comfortable walking during the day and forget about evening. Tents and garbage everywhere (we stayed 4 nights) and it seems that the city started to clean up everything but we had to experience the worse. We were back at the room by 9PM with no intention to go anywhere. You could hear some fights and some screams even late at night. The view, as on the attached pictures, I would not call exceptional. You can only see homeless people on the beach - we did not even went there once. Santa Monica is much much better if you plan to stay in this area. Still some homeless people here and there but not such a massive amount. Check the situation before you book anything in Venice Beach... I was in Venice Beach years ago and hoped the same vibe exists but it is gone...hope it will return..

No Parking!

I chose this place because the description said the parking was included. It was not. There wasn't even anywhere to park or unload. We were in a tight alleyway trying to get all of our stuff out. The attendant let me know he could direct us where to park our car in a residential area about 5 minutes away. That was super inconvenient with kids and we had just driven 15 hours to get there. We found a paid public parking about a block down. They charged $130 for 3 nights so we ended up doing that. We thought it would be better but our car ended up being hit, has a huge dent and scratch on the side. The actual property was decent. We booked the 2 room cottage and it had a patio in front with a table and grill. It had several cute plants and trees. It is super close to the beach and on Venice boardwalk with tons of shops and restaurants. The side of the boardwalk is full of homeless tent set ups all the way down a huge stretch. You can still walk down the boardwalk and enjoy the beach.

I loved the comfort and brightness of the room and the proximity to Venice Beach with all of its quirkiness. Contrary to the amenities listed on hotels.com, there is no onsite parking or any parking in close proximity to this property... so pack light because you will need to carry your bags between your vehicle and the hotel.

I loved our room and the view was beautiful. When you stay in Venice CA you normally expect some kind of neighborhood noise. The first night was extremely noisy and it was hard to sleep. The second night there wasn't any noise at all. That was HEAVEN!!

Great staff, first and foremost. However I was shocked at the homeless population surrounding the location. Constantly hearing people below who live on the boardwalk and dare I say, smell? I also didn't feel 100% safe as a couple windows in my room did not lock. It was offered by the front desk to drill them shut, but I didn't take them up on it. I left a night early because I just didn't feel comfortable being a solo traveler. Awesome room and view, just maybe not if you're alone.

We got there a couple hours early for check-in but they accommodated us and got in an hour before check-in time and with an upgrade!! Was not expecting that but was so pleased! Amazing!! This place is absolutely adorable and the staff super super nice! I fell in love with at the moment I walked in and stayed an extra night! Definitely gonna make a trip back!

ove the view and space

Got a free upgrade and stayed at the oceanfront suite. Everything is excellent. The location is fine. the downside about it during covid is that everything closed by sunset. Either you brought food in the earlier day or Uber everything...i mean everything that you can think of, seriously
The second downside was that if your upstairs is smoking, you can pretty much smell it via the ventilation.

I loved the aesthetic of the rooms and how nice and helpful the front desk was! He helped us carry our luggage down when realizing our hands were full. He also let us check in early and made sure we were able to get the correct directions to Su Casa and parking. I also liked how they were pet friendly. One pet is free of charge but two will be a $100 fee. However, the area is crazy filled with a neighborhood of homeless people. It also would have been nice if there was onsite parking but considering the location it’s understandable why there isn’t.

Homeless living in tents right outside hotel window. They wake up at 8pm and play music, socialize and get drunk till 4am. Asked the Manager Kyle if he could help refused to even talk with me. Do not stay here. The only bright spot was desk guy Oscar he went above and beyond to help.
