This place is awful. DO NOT DO IT, THERE IS NOT A JUSTIFIABLE REASON ON EARTH TO STAY HERE.
The location is fine I guess, but one would almost rather be outside suffering in the heat than return to this rundown and poor excuse for lodging.
I am quite tolerant of bad quality, but this goes beyond the mark. I knew not to have my expectations to high when I saw the price, but, I am just insulted by what I found here.
The bathtub, in the photos, is so disgusting and deteriorating that the bottom of it bent and wobbled as if it were about to give out in the bottom. I will be quite surprised if it doesn't collapse in the next few weeks.
The mattress, filthy and falling apart, was made with only one not-fitted sheet. So, not only do you have no covers, but when you wake up, you have found yourself bathing in the horror of the brown-stained exploding foam mattress. When we went to call the front to ask for a new sheet, the phone doesn't work. When we go downstairs to speak with the front desk, completely useless.
I am not the type of tourist to travel and expect everyone to speak my language, be it English, Spanish, or Dutch, however; I work in tourism and it is just common sense that in a hotel in the centre of an international tourist destination that the hotel staff speak enough of one of the major languages spoken in the same hemisphere, at least the words for common things in the hotel.

Nice Hotel in the busy city

In the city. Good location for stores. Older building. Front desk area smells nice. Room had toilet flushing issue and was changed promptly to another room. Our son enjoyed the roof too pool a lot. Breakfast was good.

It’s great! A few downsides though..

There was only two channels on the tv but the food was good, a lot of options vegetarian and vegan. Also it was pretty big and the pool looked nice. The breakfast had reasonable times. The were ok but overall this was a great hotel. The location was awesome grocery stores and the theatre was right beside us. Uber pickup was easy and fast. It would be best if you came with someone or even two people, because the room has a lot of space. Totally recommend!!

Good location is about the best thing I can say. Room was dirty. Pool was empty. Restaurant was never open. Was staying after a 6 day Amazon River camping expedition and left the hotel with more bites on my legs and ankles than being in the actual rainforest.

Grimy. Room door didn't lock. No towels, sheets barely clung to grimy stiff matresses. Air contiditioner was pitiful. There is a restaurant, but people working there were suprised we would eat there. Food was okay. Overall kind of a dump. Stay elsewhere.

Dingy, dirty, and scary looking.The outside and lobby look nice, then you enter the elevator, doors open and you are amidst hallways in complete dark! They have motion lights with some working and others not, sometimes an entire hallway in stark darkness!But that was not even the worst...worst was room had no air conditioning (broken), then told they had no other room w air to accommodate #of guests unless my child slept on a mattress on the floor! Yet it gets even worst...we opened the bed and full of hairs! I called them immediately to the room to witness it and get clean linens...didn't get an apology, instead they argued it was nothing.Eventually got new linens...with spots! Had to cover bed with my robe and sleep on it instead of on linens, disgusting.At breakfast no napkins in sight, asked, were told hotel was out. Had to use a tissue from purse.

Hotel has seen better days. The hallways have electricity saving devices that do not work very well and thus at night you walk down the hallway mostly in the dark. I had to also change rooms when my room's bathroom sink adhesive came off and the sink fell on the floor. The new room had a huge spill mark on the floor. The room safes also did not work. The good is it suited my purpose, was close to tour sites/port and breakfast was pretty good

Great value Accommodation in the Heart of Manaus

I cannot fault this hotel for the money we paid to stay there. Yes it is slightly dated however the rooms are large and clean, the beds are comfy, it has a good size bathroom, good aircon and the wifi worked well even on the 8th floor.
The location is within a couple minutes walk to the central square and the theatre plus the buses pass right outside of the hotel.
The only annoying thing about the hotel is that you have to wait an age for the lifts. The breakfast was also very basic for a hotel.
However overall this is a great value hotel and I would definitely stay there again if I visited Manaus

This hotel was good for the deal we got around 42.50R$ Pppn including a basic Brazillian breakfast and free wifi. Had a great location with tour companies and the Amazon theatres and a selection of restaurants near by. Was outdated, the bath/shower was old and flaking. Aircon could have been better

Located by the historical area and perfect location. The hotel is simple but perfect as a place to sleep in between tours of the Amazonas. There is no internet in the rooms but internet in the lobby works well. Keep in mind that most do not speak English but everyone is very friendly and helpful.

most lights in the room did not work. The whole place is very dated despite the new paint job outside. the bathroom tap had a leak and the toilet bowl had rust marks. Very little English spoken

Should be the Tatty Mahal. Appalling hotel, dreadful customer service & total rip-off.

The Taj in Manaus is terrible - it isn't even 3star despite claiming 5star status. Arrived at 5pm to be told our room wasn't ready. Well, we were told that EVENTUALLY. Tried to go for a beer at the bar, which wasn't open. The room was OK when we finally got to it, but don't get your hopes up regarding the \"pool\" it's a tiny thing on the roof and is very tatty, as is the rest of the hotel. We also got caught in that despite booking in Pounds, Expedia had sent the booking through as Dollars and the Taj wanted it paid in Real. So we have been stung twice for currency exchange costs (not all their fault). The only good thing, they allowed us to leave our bags after check-out for free (which was a surprise). Terrible hotel,

Dirty Motel at 5 Star Price

The hotel was supposed to be 5 stars. For me it was one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in, dirty, old fashioned , seems like it had not been renovated or decorated in a number of years, TV did not work, the area it was in seemed to be unsafe at night. Had this been more than a one night stay I would have changed hotel after the first night. The thing that disapointed me most was that it was expensive (Not sure if this was just the Expedia price) for a very poor condition hotel. We seriously thought that perhaps there were two Taj mahals and perhaps we had been taken to the wrong one by accident. During my trip I stayed at another hotel in Manaus, booked it direct, it was half the price and 100 times a better hotel.

Achei um hotel com um custo-benefício muito bom. Considerando o valor da hospedagem oferece uma estadia razoável.
Tem um restaurante que oferece o necessário para não precisar sair, mas a qualidade não é de um restaurante tradicional (até porque o serviço principal é a hospedagem e não o restaurante…). Era o meu caso, eu precisava permanecer no hotel.
No geral, fiquei satisfeito e voltaria a me hospedar nele.

Imóvel muito antigo e estado de conservação deixa a desejar, mas a cama era confortável, chuveiro saía bastante água e quente, silencioso, funcionários da recepção muito atenciosos, resolveram todos os problemas que surgiram prontamente!

Não fiquei. Hotel muito velho (velho mesmo) mal cuidado, lâmpadas de corredor não funcionam, chuveiro vazando, parte metálica enferrujada, ar condicionado barulhento, cheiro de velho. Tanto que não fiquei. Tem ficha da minha desistência, fiquei** nem uma hora no hotel. Foi tempo de subir, deixar minhas coisas e quando voltei do jantar já fui embora.

Eu adoro esse hotel. A localização é a melhor da cidade, a poucos quarteirões do Teatro Amazonas, o quarto é bem amplo, tem janela grande com ótima vista, é simples mas limpo e confortável. O café da manhã é farto, tb sem sofisticação mas com muitas opções. Na minha opinião é o único ponto fraco. Pra mim faltam opções mais regionais tipo tapioca (de preferência feita na hora). Tb acho os bolos muito secos e pouco saborosos. Mas tem os tradicionais misto quente, cachorro quente e ovos mexidos. Não é um café 5 estrelas (tb não é o q o hotel promete), pode melhorar um pouco (talvez até diminuir a oferta, em vez de 5 bolos, q tenha um só muito gostoso em vez de 5 mais ou menos), mas a experiência como um todo em muito positiva: ótima localização, quartos grandes e limpos, excelente atendimento e café da manhã muito decente. Excelente experiência e relação custo-benefício. Super indico.

O hotel é bem localizado. A vista dos quartos mais altos é otima, sao quartos amplos e tem uma piscina nq cobertura com uma vista otima. Poderia abrir o restaurante giratorio no fim de semana.
Porém o hotel deixa a desejar qto ao conforto no sentido de que por ser antigo, está precisando de uma pintura com material antimofo, pois muitos quartos ficam com um cheiro de mofo. É preciso ter um cuidado maior em deixar eles abertos para ventilar, nao sei. A parte onde se toma o cafe achei muito escuro. O cafe muito forte, recomendo usar po de cafe classico normal.
Esta precisando passar por alguma atualizacao para retirar esse cheiro de mofo. Essa é a pior caracteristica do hotel.
E poderia ver uma outra área pro café, que fosse mais arejada.

O unico ponto positivo desse hotel foi a localizacao, e a atencao de alguns funcionarios na recepcao.
O hotel está muito velho e mal conservado, a limpeza dos quartos e banheiro deixou muito a desejar. Torneiras da pia e chuveiro vazando o tempo inteiro. Roupas de cama velhas e rasgadas. Televisao pegava poucos canais. A piscina estava em manutencao.

É um hotel ok, o quarto em si é confortável, janela ampla, banheiro limpo, único porém é o ar condicionado que não gela o quarto inteiro, apenas a parte onde ele está, e como a cama fica um pouco longe, a gente fica com calor... o café da manhã é bem sortido e a piscina é grande, só acho que poderiam limpar com mais frequência. Os elevadores dão um pouquinho de medo e os corredores têm um cheirinho de mofo, mas no geral, tirando a questão do ar condicionado, é um hotel com bom custo-benefício.

O hotel tem tudo para se tornar um grande hotel. Porém, pecam em pequenas coisa de suma importância. Exemplo: botões do elevador que não funcionam, chuveiro pingando, torneiras pingando, abajures e luminárias sem lâmpadas, cortinas rasgadas que é só dar um remendo e ficam boas. Estou falando do apto 1002. No geral, melhorar o atendimento no bar a noite. Se quer um abridor é uma taça, muito pequena por sinal para tomar um vinho, é um sacrifício, da impressão de que se vai roubar o abridor e a taça. Onde já se viu assinar nota para retirar uma taça que não custa mais de R$ 10,00 e um abridor de R$ 1,99? No mais, pisos manchados no apto. Se não tem para trocar, é só passar um limpa tudo que as manchas saem. Entendam uma coisa: sou empresário e meu maior medo é quando meus clientes não reclamam e trocam de fornecedor. Prefiro que me ofereçam oportunidades de melhorar, e por isto estou fazendo essas sugestões. Vocês tem um hotel com excelente localização, excelente estrutura, ótima recepção, espaçosa, um hotel de bom nível. Porém, como disse acima, pecam em detalhes importantíssimos. Ah… esqueci de comentar: coloquem fronhas nos travesseiros e lavem e troquem a cada hóspede. Quando procuro um hotel, procuro um que tenha uma boa cama - isso tem -, que tenha uma boa limpeza - isso deixa a desejar -, que tenha lençóis e toalhas limpas com uma boa internet - essa é fraca. De resto está bom.

Hotel decadente…

O hotel foi construído na década de 1990 e, provavelmente, à época, deve ter sido luxuoso e confortável.
Atualmente, o hotel é decadente e sua manutenção é péssima. Os elevadores apresentaram defeito, há portas de mangueiras de incêndio amarradas com sacolas plásticas, a limpeza é ruim de maneira geral, há imenso desperdício de água com torneira pingando, a cama é pequena e o colchão não é confortável, há somente 5 canais de TV, que saem do ar constantemente…

Abaixo do razoável, chuveiro é dentro da banheira, estrutura precisa de reparos....
A noite é um hotel bem escuro. Tendência não voltar. Agradeço pelos três dias, mas não devo retornar.

No geral e boa mas podia ser melhor se todas as tv s fossem dr tela plana. No caso no meu quarto nao era .
Tem um restaurante que deixou a desejar fiquei esperando 1 hora pelo almoço
