Fabulous from start to finish. Views are amazing and everything is within walking distance. The steps to access the hotel from the beach are daunting but you get used to it and plan accordingly. Tip: if you are heading towards nearby Ossos Beach for a meal or sunbathing, then just walk on the street from the front of the hotel it’s quick, easy and avoids the steps.
Rooms were lovely and individual. Staff were great and our entire stay felt safe and luxurious.

This was an incredible property. I found it unique and totally a vibe. My vibe. It was classy and elegant while holding an earthy feelings. Lots of plants and natural light. The property was very clean, room was clean and well organized. I felt like it was worth every dollar. Truly a first class experience. Everyone was very professional, helpful and genuinely kind. I bounced around hotels while I stayed in Búzios and this was by far my favourite. Filipe at the front desk was a gentleman. I came while he was helping other people. He asked them to wait a moment. Excused himself and told me I could sit in the hotel while I waited. Was like a nice comfortable living room. He assured me he would assist me soon. When he did come he took me for a complimentary drink and then showed me around. Excellent service. I can’t say enough. Waiting uncontrollably is the worst and he made sure I didn’t feel this at all. 10 out or 10 recommend!

Pros: Comfortable room, easy access to Bardot boardwalk, welcome drink at the pool was very good, and the pool is beautiful.

Cons: No parking available on the property and no support is provided by the hotel on how/where to park. We parked on the street and got a ticket that was charged by hour rather than by day. We mistakenly thought that the coffee in the room was complimentary (as it typically is) but were charged at check-out. My partner had a meeting at checkout time and asked if we could stay 30 minutes extra so he could take the meeting in our hotel room but his request was refused.

We spent 5 nights at the hotel. All of the staff were very good, friendly and helpful. Our room did not have any view which was a shame, but I think that was all that was available when we booked. We had a bath on the small terrace, but we did not use it and it seemed a bit pointless placed where it was.
One complaint about the room was not enough places to store things.
The food in the restaurant was excellent, except on Christmas Eve when we paid a lot of money (£140 per person) for a very poor meal. Other diners that we spoke to agreed. But that was a one off! We ate there 2 other times and were very happy, but the wine choices were poor and expensive.

The hotel is amazing, the images don’t do it justice. The staff really do give 5* service. From the second you walk into the hotel it’s like a little sanctuary, and when you see the views just wow. The breakfast was excellent, the cocktails at the bar were fab, and we ate in the restaurant one night which was also excellent. The room was much bigger than expected and nice to have a private courtyard. My only two suggestions would be in the bedrooms - to provide bottled water daily, and to provide a wastebasket in the room.
This hotel really is a gem, it’s beautiful and we really couldn’t fault it. Also in a great location and the steps take you straight to the Bardot walk (and statue outside).

Beautiful property with an incredible breakfast and view over the water. Dinner at the restaurant and mistico next door were phenomenal. My only complaint is I wish they had a bigger pool or a jacuzzi instead of the sauna. There’s a small dipping pool and then the small infinity pool. The room was small but comfortable.

This is a great spot to stay in Buzios. Beautiful property, excellent location, great amenities and really really thoughtful staff.

Some highlights- the heated pool at sunset, the great breakfast, and the ease of stepping out the quiet oasis of a property onto the Main Street into town, just minutes away. And the staff are great! Offering ideas and really attentive.

The hotel was perfect. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was of high quality and the 3 dinners I had in the hotel dining area were some of the best meals in Búzios. The drinks were well made. One of the best parts of this hotel are the views. The room was constantly cool and easy to set to whatever preference you may have. The only complaint I could think of for someone would be the walking distance to the beaches, but that wasn't a problem for us and Uber is readily available in buzios. I would highly recommend this hotel based on the quality of the service provided, the view of the area, and the overall tranquility of the hotel environment.

Our stay at Vila D’este was spectacular. The service is beyond five stars; everyone goes above and beyond to make your stay as wonderful as possible. A very sincere and special thank you to Marcos and Omar at the reception desk, as well as Perecyles and Rodnei at the breakfast buffet. They and the rest of the staff did their best to accommodate any of our questions or requests and helped make our stay extra special.

The location of the hotel is perfect…nestled on top of a small cliff giving panoramic views, yet still very convenient and right next to the center of town. There are a number of fantastic restaurants within a minute’s walking distance (including the food at the hotel). The property is maintained meticulously and feels like a tranquil piece of paradise.

We’d give this hotel far more than five stars if we could, and we look forward to coming back. Thank you for an amazing holiday!

The only slight negative we had was that we didn’t receive refills when we used hotel toiletries without asking and some items weren’t cleaned in room, such as used glasses. Villa D’Este in Búzios is a romantic gem . Superb staff - Marcelo from front desk is a perfect 10, Alan in the restaurant another fantastic professional with the best attitude , everything about the hotel was outstanding except for the hordes of mosquitoes ! For God’s sake , can’t management buy mosquitoes candles and spread them throughout the hotel ? And in the lovely restaurant why can’t they put mosquito deterrent coils ? My partner and I were attacked by famished mosquitoes while waiting for and eating our dinners. In times of Zika, dengue etc it is very concerning . This was the only drawback of an otherwise perfect place to stay .

This hotel was everything we dreamed of and more. It was the perfect location in Buzios and the views were exactly how the seem in the photos. All of the staff were amazing - Marcel gave us a hotel tour when we arrived and was so enthusiastic about his hotel and made sure we felt at home. The room was divine and the bed was so comfortable. The restaurant was incredible - I wouldn’t usually eat in a hotel restaurant but I highly recommend the dining at this one. The risotto was incredible, as was the service. Cocktails by the pool at sunset couldn’t be beaten. Even though this is probably more a couples hotel, my friend and I absolutely loved our stay here and would stay again in a heartbeat.

Perfect for first leg of honeymoon!

We stayed here for part of our honeymoon. It was fantastic and just what we needed.

We had an amazing room with view over the beach/sea and a private hot tub, perfect for sipping champagne as the sun set.

The staff were super lovely,great service without getting in the way.

Food was good on site, and the hotel is nestled between to other great restaurants also (Mistico & 74).

The lactino suited us perfectly - just outside the main strip in town so not too noisy, but only 5 mins walk to the shops etc

Stairway to Heaven

From the Bridget Bardot statue a steep 30 step staircase takes you to this lovely boutique hotel with gorgeous views of the water from the two poolside decks as well as the restaurant. Our room was not large but included a king size bed and a deck looking over the water. The hotel offers a number of neat rooms that take advantage of the views from its perch high above Buzios. It is just a short walk to the centro or to the beaches.

It was amazing! Definitely recommend ocean view.. we had the premium suite and the views were incredible. You could sit in the plunge pool and watch the sunset. Room was great size we had problems with our air conditioning a few times which was annoying! Also the hotel is very strict regarding late check out which isn't very accommodating especially when you have paid so much. Other than that I would definitely recommmed it to anyone!

3rd visit in 15 years and this pousada has been consistently excellent in everything. Hard to believe there is a better place to stay in Búzios! Staff go out of their way to help, every time, always smiling and friendly. Rooms are clean, decor is just beautiful, breakfast is fantastic. The restaurant also opens for lunch and dinner and serves the freshest, best quality ingredients. Views are breathtaking and location - waterfront, 5-min walk to Main Street - is perfect.

A delightful place for rest and recreation

We came to Vila d'Este after an exhausting trip through South America for seven weeks and it was just the right place to recharge out batteries. We were unlucky with the weather but it was still a great experience, especially the spa pool in front of our room. The room itself was big and spacious and the bed very comfortable. We loved the pool too when the sun came out.

Having spent some time in Rio before coming here, the first thing we noticed was how tranquil and calm it was. The check in was smooth and super friendly. We felt very welcome. The hotel is clean and very well suited to couples. There is a heated pool and steam room on a lower level and on the upper level is a pool with loungers.

The room was a nice size with a large, comfy bed and the shower was good when you finally get a decent temperature. Nice sized TV with lots of channels and a very quiet air con unit.

The breakfast was the usual selection of warm/cold meats, bread, cake, fruit etc. A nice addition is the gluten free selection. Drinks were good and the food in the restaurant is well worth the price, whether you're having a salad, a sandwich, or a proper meal.

Absolutely loved staying here and would happily do so again.

We reserved the premier suite which we thought that was the hot-tub on the deck as shown in the photo. Only the \"cottage\" has that. The room we rec'd was much smaller with a small square hot-tub on the deck but great view of the ocean. I think there are only two of these room with views plus the cottage. We were adjacent to the walkway that goes down the hill to the main street. Town is a short walk along the water and is nice. The hot tub is not hot. maybe 95 degrees F at the most. We asked to turn it up from 91 and they said 95 is the highest they will go. So not worth it really. They had a pool that no one used and then the warmer pool on the lower level that also is not a hot-tub so just be aware. Many used this at sunset and sipped drinks from the bar. Its not that warm, but you could swim from this pool under the glass wall to the sauna which was pretty cool

Villa d'Este is up on a hill overlooking the beach; it is convenient if one walks well, but a bit of a trek (about 70 steep steps) down to the beach. The swimming pools/spa are nice, the setting and ambience delightful, the staff friendly and mostly speak good English as well as, of course, Portugese. We recommend it without hesitation, at least for for young and energetic folks!

Villa d'este is a complete pleasure. The hotel is beautiful and imaginative with the most gorgeous view from the dining room and the swimming pools. The staff is friendly and super willing to help with anything. The restaurant is superb, the food is fresh and tasty and the wine list is extensive. The prices are reasonable and, if you are looking for a relaxing holiday in a wonderful location this is perfect.

Nice rooms and the public areas were well maintained. Minor issues e.g. wifi doesn't work in all rooms and the standard rooms can be a little noisy if you're trying to have a daytime nap. The view from the pool is beautiful. Overall a lovely hotel with very helpful and friendly staff in a beautiful part of Brazil.

While the property lacks attention to the finer details to make it a true luxury property, it's setting and fantastic views make you quickly forget that. The highlight would be the pool that overlooks the town and a perfect vantage point to take in the sunset. Very attentive staff and a very good food and beverage offering make it a great spot to take in this beautiful town.

O quarto que fiquei foi muito bom, bem decorado e confortável. O café da manhã não me agrada muito, mais bonito que gostoso. Mas gosto muito da localização, tanto que é minha segunda ou terceira vez na pousada. Foram super fofos deixando um

A equipe é muito atenciosa. Infelizmente tivemos problema com o primeiro quarto. Imediatamente ofereceram trocar. O segundo era maravilhoso, recém reformado, uma vista linda para a armação.

O Hotel é muito bom. Área de lazer muito aconchegante. limpa e de muito bom gosto. Cama muito confortável, café da manhã excelente em variedade e qualidade dos alimentos.
Gostaria de destacar a educação do Funcionário Luan que fica na recepção. Rapaz extremamente educado e sofisticado.

Sobre os pontos negativos que achei:
1 - A água do chuveiro e pia do banheiro do quarto estava com muito cheiro de mofo... insuportavelmente. Talvez precise de mais manutenção na caixa d'agua.
2 - Não ter estacionamento no local. O carro precisa ficar na rua e é dificil achar vaga e olha que fui em baixa temporada.
3 - Achei os preços do bar do hotel um pouco abusivos (uma taça de vinho 70,00 reais e a taxa de rolha 130,00 reais?).

No mais, o Hotel é maravilhoso.

O hotel faz jus a sua fama, um dos melhores que já fiquei no Rio de Janeiro.

A vista é simplesmente deslumbrante, com um pôr do sol de tirar o folego.

A piscina aquecida é uma delicia de se ficar o dia inteiro.
Café da manhã super completo, variado e de muita qualidade.

Quarto amplo, roupas de cama MARAVILHOSAS .

Fácil acesso a rua das pedras e perto das principais praias de búzios.

Unica coisa que não me agradou foi o bar do hotel só servir bebidas alcoolicas a partir das 13:00 que é quando o barman chega para trabalhar.

Foi boa. Atendimento não é de alto padrão como se esperaria de um hotel desse nível. As latas de água do frigobar estavam sujas, não havia reposição de papel no quarto e o menu do restaurante
