First good things: the staff at the reception was very friendly, breakfast was good and room was clean. Now what we did not like: the room was extremely small. It would be still ok, but we were on 3rd floor which is under the roof, and outer wall is angled, so every time you approach the head is f the bed you can bump your head with ceiling. Also when getting out of the bed you have to be careful not to bump your head. The coat hooks located in the place where if you hang two coats they block the way to the bed. There were only 3 hangers for two people in wardrobe. No complimentary bottled water in the room ( we stayed in many hotels in Germany and they provided water). Bathroom is tiny, with no space to put toiletries near the sink. The towel hook is not actually the hook: it is a rod about 5 cm long (or short?), so the towel keeps falling on the floor all the time. There was no hand lotion or shower cap. While I understand that they can’t make the bathroom bigger, it is still possible to mount a wall shelf for toiletries, mount real hook for towels and provide a water for €100+ a night room.

Great stop for Oktoberfest

Stayed with a friend for Oktoberfest for 3 nights, staff were very welcoming and forgiving of our awful German, the room was booked for 3 people however only 2 of us went, this was lucky as there is no way it would have been big enough for 3 people. everything was very clean, easy access to all public transport, no complaints other than the size of the room

Nice stay at Wetterstein Hotel with our family. The inside of the hotel was lovely, clean and well kept. The outside was being completely renovated so a bit of a building site. Having said that, apart from it looking rather uninviting we’d didn’t experience any noise as the builders were considerate and tidy. We found the breakfast rather expensive for what was on offer, but loved the free beer if you went green and choose not to have your room serviced every day. A good incentive to think ecologically!

Great find!

This is a great little hotel! The decor is nothing to write home about but our room was very spacious, as well as clean and comfortable. The air conditioning worked well, and overall we found it was quiet provided you don’t have some kid squealing and yelling in a nearby room like we did, however we popped in air plugs and weren’t disturbed by them any further!
The carpark is secure and well worth the additional fee. As for location, we thought it was brilliant! The trams and underground are right there - we took the underground and it was only four stops to the centre of town and just a short and pleasant stroll from there to the Marienplatz square.
There is a lovely bakery and a convenience store just up from the hotel, and we had dinner at a nearby food truck (10-15 minutes walk) which served burgers one night and tacos the next night -and the food was so amazing we ate there both nights of our stay! Highly recommended if you fancy a short stroll - look for it on google maps. Didn’t eat at the hotel but there is a pleasant looking little bar area in the reception.
Overall we were really happy with our stay here. A handy location and a decent price

My partner and I had a lovely stay at Hotel Wetterstein. We arrived 3 hours earlier than check-in time, the staff members were so lovely and able to accommodate our early arrival. The location is great, not too close to the buzing CBD but not too far away either. The hotel is walking distance from Wettersteinplatz. Thank you again for having us :)

The property is near a metro station and small market.
The property does not look like the photos! Very deceiving-red carpet is dingy and dirty. Towels and linensThe shower is such a high step in that my very tall son climbed in, and even with his long legs, slipped and fell in the tub. If you have any incapacity or weakness the hotel’s entrance stairs are very impractical to get luggage in and out. There is a very odd ramp on the stairs to get luggage up and down. I could not get my luggage to balance on it so it would be an easy transition. This hotel has 3 stars, at most I would give it a 2.
We got an awful room in a basement with windows facing sidewalk.

I liked the location of the hotel in the heart of Giesing. A short U-Bahn trip away from Munich City Center. The area is very safe and a lots of bars in the area. There is a nice forrest walk way behind the hotel too.There was nothing that I did not like.

We enjoyed our stay a lot! Staff was pleasant and helpful! Bed was super comfy! The only thing that we were not happy about is it says they have laundry services which they do but their dryer did not work! After 1 hour of drying our clothes were still wet! We had to go to an actual laundry mat which wasn’t very far but after trying to dry our clothes for 2 hours! That’s was a waste of time.

Perfect location for me - quiet, clean and unfussy room with good-sized bed (garden side, rooms facing on to the busy main road road are bound to be noisy). Breakfast is fine, clear Covid rules being followed very calmly by everyone. It feels friendly and safe. I was able to borrow a kettle for my morning tea, as well (not that usual in Germany yet). And all that at a more than reasonable rate. Easy route by tram and S-Bahn to the airport, too. Isar river with miles of beautiful walks just round the corner. Will be back, for sure.

The Wetterstein hotel is a quality hotel that is reasonably priced. It is located about 2 miles from the main tourist areas like the Marienplatz but there is a subway station a few hundred feet away that gives you quick access to the tourist areas. The area around the hotel is a commercial and residential area that is quiet at night. There are also good biking and jogging paths near the hotel if you are into that. Furthermore, the Wetterstein hotel has an excellent buffet breakfast for 10 Euros which is a good deal in Munich. Also, the staff was helpful if I had questions. Overall, it is a good place to stay in Munich.

Good 3* with strange infection control approach

The hotel is good for a three star and it is close to the Schön Orthopedic Clinic. In order to lessen the possibility of COVID-19 infection they decided to stop making up / cleaning rooms during a person‘s stay (and offer a free drink in return!). I would have thought that cleaning would reduce the possibility of infection.

Ate breakfast there on am. Cost = €10 each. A good breakfast, but a little pricey. Nice to have separate toilet room. Comfy beds and pillows. Air Conditioning was worth every cent and more. Neat option to opt out of having room cleaned, and get a free drink. We didn't opt out the first night we were there, and they didn't clean much (no new bath mat, and used glass left in bathroom). We took advantage of the offer on the second night; one free drink is awarded for each person staying in the room. The number of drinks awarded was not made clear before we did that; it would have been nice to know that ahead of time.

A little out of central Munich but can hop right on transit steps from hotel so very easy to get around. Staff very welcoming. Room was very clean and bright with lots of windows. If you chose not to get room cleaned daily (which for us is no issue as we generally are only in room to sleep and can make our own beds), you were given coupon for 3 free drinks at the bar.

The hotel room and building looked really beatiful, everything needed was available and staff very friendly, I did not like the smell coming through windows from the Indian restaurant next to the hotel and I could sometimes hear traffic too muhch. The location was ok, but not excellent, I guess comparable to the very good price.

Mixed review. Nice lobby and reception. Decent friendliness... but tiny room with old room smell probably from old carpet. Tiny bathroom with an actually dangerous bathtub (so narrow, slippery and not firm)... no fridge or coffee maker in room bit nice 10 euro breakfast in the morning... price is way to much for what it is. Will try IBIS next time (close by and same price)... close to U-Bahn and our daughter’s place. Also restaurants and shops - mostly grocery and pharmacy- also a local football (soccer) stadium - maybe why price so high for the quality of room...?

I stayed in this hotel two times within the same trip. I was skeptic when I did the booking, in case the hotel wasn't up to epectations then we might have made the wrong choice, but when we statyed the first time we liked the hotel and its location.
There are many bakeries within a walking distance, a pharmacy, 2 grocery stores, tram station and a U-bahn station (underground). Hotel has different options; regular rooms and studios (which vary in shapes, sizes, and available amenities).
Area is safe and peaceful, so mostly you will enjoy it specially with a family.
PS, you can park in the street for free or choose the hotel parking for a nightly fee.

The hotel is in a good neighborhood with walking distance to underground and tram stations. Around you can also find few nice bakeries and two grocery store that will fulfill your basic daily needs.
Hotel rooms are nicely equipped compared to European hotels in general. Reception staff are very friendly and helpful and they are multilingual whom are available all the time. Laundry room is also accessible in case you need it.
I stayed here twice for the saw trip and had a car for part of my stay, parking wasn't an issue; either use the free available street parking (withing the white lines only) or park at the hotel parking for a fee which I didn't need to.

The hotel itself is quite pleasant. The staff was friendly and professional. The room we had was on the front next to the main street and was a little noisy. Though they say there are 5 restaurants nearby they are actually a bit of a walk away. The parking garage was adequate but the grade of the descent into the garage is very steep and scraped the bottom of the car going in and out. A little difficult to maneuver but probably standard for a city parking garage. Lastly, the wifi was not adequate at all. Could never stay connected and VERY slow.

This hotel was perfect for our stay in Munich. There is an underground tube stop 20 meters down the road which can get you into marineplatz in the centre of Munich in 10 minutes.

Staff were efficient, and the hotel was very clean.

A great place to stay if you want to save money and not stay in the centre of Munich.

Quiet hotel near transit stops

We came to Munich for Oktoberfest. The hotel staff was really nice and held our bags until we could check in and again until our evening flight. The hotel was quiet and close to the U-bahn station and the tram station. A quick five-minute ride to either downtown or the Oktoberfest grounds. The only down-side to this stay was the smallest bed I have ever shared with another person. I had requested a king, and instead we got a full sized bed barely big enough for one person.

The location was great. It is very easy to get anywhere in Munich with the trains stop so close by. Also nice there is a grocery store and pharmacy nearby.

As far as the room goes, it was extremely small and the sink and mirror are less than an arms length away from the bed. Personally I find it awkward to get ready in front of friends or a significant other. There was garbage in the bathroom upon arrival and the previous guests toilettries were left behind and not picked up.

As for the 'free wifi' goes, forget about it if you think wifi will work in your room. You must be in the lobby or the wifi will shut off constantly.

Wasn't the worst but certainly far from an average hotel.

My sister and our 3 young adult children were looking to stay at hotel that was clean and convenient but not really expensive, as we weren't expecting to spend much time at the hotel and we were pleased at what we got. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the location was close to easy transit, the rooms were small and very basic, the breakfast was really good. We even enjoyed one evening sitting in the lounge playing cards, having a drink, and chatting with the fellow at reception. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone that isn't expecting any bells and whistles, but wants clean, convenient and good service..

The room was outstanding other than the pull out couch for the other two people in the room. That couch was soo bad that it should have not even been offered as an option for 4 people. The location was good because the U-train was only a block away and there were a couple of restaurants close by. The laundry facilities were not good as in the dryer did not dry anything. The rooms were clean and nice and the front staff was great. The common area in the lobby was very comfortable and nice.

It takes very long to reach the airport from here and you need the U-Bahn where there is only one service line to get to here. However the hotel is comfortable! There was some renovations ongoing near the lobby so if you have big luggages you have to bring them down to the lobby if you need to check-in. The lift is small enough for two people with big luggages so might not be good for families. Otherwise all is good!

Great location

This hotel is close to grocery store and train station. Surrounded by Senior citizen apartment. A/C in room but not very cold. parking is free but has to look for it on the street or alley behind hotel.

Good value. Arrival by car a challenge.

The hotel is a good value, clean, comfortable and quiet inside and out (paid extra for a courtyard room). Staff was generally reserved and inconsistently helpful. When asked about using the Ubahn, there was no offer of information that would be helpful in purchasing a ticket from the kiosk, such as what zone we were in or the types of tickets available. Having traveled by car, the big disappointment was in the lack of advance information about arrival parking/check-in or garage parking. Arriving in the area around 6pm on a Tuesday, we got stuck in crawling traffic on the wrong (northbound) side of Grunewaldstrasse across from the hotel. We gave up on trying to get to the front of the hotel because there were no nearby cross streets to turn left on (tram tracks run in the middle of street). Note that even if we had been able to make a turn and get to the front of the hotel, it would be a matter of chance of finding their small curbside loading area unoccupied. We ultimately found a place to park in a residential area across the tracks from the hotel, after driving around the side streets for several minutes. Then we lugged our suitcases several blocks to the hotel. As for the parking garage, which is located in a non-adjacent side street, even if we had known that, it cannot be entered without a room key. It took us an hour from when we got in the area to walking in the hotel. Bottom line is if arriving by car, beware of potential hurdles.
