The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was outstanding. My only complaint is, I wish they had blackout curtains. The curtains were thin and an opaque white which I'm sure someone at night could see our shadows looking in if we had that light on. That's not the main problem. Our room was in some sort of alley that had a motion sensor floodlight. That light would go on constantly in the middle of the night making the room so bright. I thought many of times it was already morning because the light was on. Other than that, I loved the location, the price and the food.

The hotel is in a great location if you are looking to attend christmas markets. The listing does say there is no elevator, however it says there is only 2 floors. However, when we arrived we had to walk to the 4th floor with our bags and no elevator. This would have been fine if we had been expecting it. The hotel is quite dated but the rooms were very clean. The tv in our room didn't work, and it was quite cold. Its also listed as a non smoking building, but one morning when we woke all you could smell was cigarette smoke. When we came downstairs, it seems someone had let in a person who was sitting on the stairs all night smoking. This may not entirely be the fault of the hotel, however it is not secure if people can be let in off the street with access to rooms. Overall, this was a convenient and clean place to stay, but I am not sure I would choose to stay here again.

There's no lift. Had to carry luggage up 3 flights of stairs. Check in was in a small room off from the kitchen. Germany hotels are known for the best breakfast and this was so NOT that. Very lacking. There was no mattress cover. Sheet straight on top of a stained mattress. Blood spots on the bedding. I wouldn't stay here again.

Room was clean. Nice breakfast. You get what you paid for. Location was great. We arrived around 7pm, the key was left for us taped to the outside door of the building. Would stay again, except for the fact if the same and only key opens the building door for everyone and your room, so it can open any other room. I wouldn't feel safe, if someone stumbles in your room after trip to Hofbräuhaus (only 6 min. walk). Would also recommend adding another set of firm pillows. Thank you!

The room was small but adequate. There was no A/C so the window was open. The street stayed pretty noisy most of the night. The breakfast was not elaborate but it was nice. The location was great. Just take the train 2 stops from the Hauptbahnhof to Marienplatz and then its a couple of minutes walk to the hotel.

One night stay during Oktoberfest. Decent location close to the old town.

Reception is upstairs and in the kitchen. No obvious way to get inside building as front door is locked.

Rooms very old and dated. Everything uncomfortable. No bedside lamps or coffee making facilities. Unbelievable that they charge sky high prices for this place. Reception not open at 7pm when we left. Also bizarre that this place has a somewhat decent rating??

Grim property and wouldn’t recommend. We couldn’t wait to leave!!

We paid for a double room with “one queen bed” but received a room with two separated twin beds. There was mold in the shower, roach traps throughout, and it felt dirty. The breakfast was nice though and the staff were friendly. The location was good.

Location was superb. Couldn’t beat it. Hotel/rooms were very basic and very tired. Well past their prime. We were told we could pay cash at hotel (our Expedia receipt says so) but our card was charged upon arrival. Also charged $20 more then quoted plus a $12 “assessment” fee.

Nice place. As my husband put it 'shabby/chic'. No street parking, so you have to use a garage about an 8 minute walk away. Breakfast was quite good. The only real issue I had was that I booked a double bed and we got 2 singles with a room so tiny, we couldn't move them together. Also, this place is really tough to find!! It is right next to the Birkenstock store, which is a much better landmark to look for.

This is an older property and while acceptable, certainly not new. The staff was excellent and the room was clean. The bathroom was workable but in need of a renovation. Like many room in Europe, there is no A/C. This would be easier to accept if they would simply provide a fan. The windows did open but overlooked an alley and provided little ventilation. The curtains were NOT adequate to cover all the windows and appeared to be missing a section of curtain. No coffee in the room but available in the reception area.. Overall, a good deal for the money and a clean, safe room.

Pretty grotty block of flats turned into rooms, plaster missing from the walls and covered with plastic, a plug in strip light in the bathroom. Parking is 5 mins away in generic garage that's nothing to do with the actual place.

3) internet is not secure
4) no elevator so get ready to drag your suitcase.

This property is conveniently located within walking distance from Marienplatz and multiple Sbahn stops.The check in process was smooth, and the host was welcoming and informative. However, the walls/doors are paper thin so it was quite noisy the entire time (doors slamming, people talking, neighbor sneezing... you can hear it all!). The rooms were adequate, but very very small and not recommended for more than 1 person - not even a married couple. I paid $60 for 1 night, and that is probably about the longest stay i would recommend. Had i paid more for my stay, i would have been very disappointed.

I am sorry, but despite this hotel's great position it is not clear whether it is private apartments or a hotel. Also, the toilet did not flush and the shower was \"interesting\"! Also, the door opened every time some close by opened or closed theirs, and oh having several extension plugs in the same socket then \"extended\" all over the room did not only look bad but MUST be dangerous! Then there wad breakfast...sighs... Will NEVER go back!!!!

Like all the reviews say, this place is good for one to two nights. My room was super small but adequate, which is all I needed. The breakfast was great and plentiful, like everyone says. The bed was way to hard and you could feel the springs through it when you turned. It may have been ok for a night had the pillow not been so, so flat. It was a real feather pillow, which I love, but absolutely no support at all. And, when I slept in it I kept smelling dust all night. I wonder if they ever wash the pillows. I was SO glad I brought my own to go on top of theirs. But even so, it wasn’t even enough firmness to prop myself up to watch a movie. The place says no smoking but I faced in to a courtyard and someone was definitely smoking and it floated up and into my room all night for hours. Despite the very few negatives, this is truly a bare minimum hotel for a way cheaper price than almost everything I found. The one thing I think they need to improve upon drastically is informing the customer HOW exactly to get there. There is a button at the front, which doesn’t work. When you walk in there are just stairs. Something saying it’s on the first floor up would be nice. And when I got there the reception door was locked and the bell didn’t seem to work. So I was standing around wondering if I even was in the right place. Someone finally did come and she was very nice and welcoming. I probably wold stay here again if I absolutely couldn’t find another place for a similar price.

Checking into Pension Seibel was a bit disconcerting. The room we got had very dated furniture and fittings and poor lighting.
Once you get past the above, you will enjoy the other benefits of this hotel and that is the friendly staff, it's a very central location.
We had an inner courtyard facing room, and as such, it was very quiet.
Breakfast was adequate. I would have liked some fresh fruit.
Strangely as mediocre as it is, I would visit it again. So this sums up the pluses and minuses of this place.

Huge disappointment

We chose this because it looked quaint but the only pleasant space was the breakfast room. A very old and tired building that needs a complete makeover. The staff didn’t interact at all and were noticeable by their absence apart from the young man who checked us in who looked as though he wanted to fall through a hole in the ground. Furniture is shabby and the bathroom hardly functional. There was no plug in the bath and the shower had to be hand held. An electric socket was unusable and dangerous. No WiFi other than standing in a downstairs lobby. The saving grace was a half decent breakfast but get there early or the coffee will be cold. Good position and comfortable bed. Far too expensive for what it has to offer.

Good location, everything else pretty unimpressive

The good: Location was amazing. Breakfast was decent.

The bad: None of our requests for the room were honored. The staff were neither friendly nor unfriendly. The room was in pretty terrible condition - our curtains were falling off the rods and the bed wasn't super clean - I had to brush it off before getting in. The toilet had this weird function where everything collected in the tub prior to being flushed down, because most of the bowl was elevated for some reason. There was a pigeon that would coo loudly outside in the mornings, making sleeping in impossible.

So I would say - if you want to save money and aren't staying long, it's fine. But if you want a nice room, you're not going to get anything more than the basics here. I've stayed in nicer hostels. But I would definitely stay here again because it's cheap, central, and I can get some earplugs or maybe the pigeon will have left by the time I come back to Munich.

Best Location

This is a simply a basic place to stay. The staff was very helpful answering questions and was accommodating. The breakfast was well-presented; just keep in mind nothing is hot; it sufficed. The room was small, comfortable; basically clean; just not well dusted under the furniture. I dropped a couple of pills and had to look for them...plenty of dust under the bed and side table.

But you can't beat the location. I was traveling alone and i would stay here again - the price is right for my needs.

Bare basics...walking distance to city center

I was nervous about this hotel based on the reviews but opted to stay here anyway because this trip to Germany was a bit spontaneous and my husband and I were on a tight budget. We were staying for a week and this hotel offered the best price to stay that long. Overall, everything was \"ok\". Nothing about this hotel is ideal, except for the breakfast...which was good and because it was included, helped us save money. The room was very small with two small twin beds (my husband and I had to sleep apart). We shared a bathroom (unexpectedly...pay attention to the room you're booking) with another guest. The bathroom was in the hallway (toilet separate from the shower). The building is old with no modern updates. There are no elevators and we were on the 4th floor! The staff was nice, but we were VERY disappointed with the facility upon check-in. However, we got used to it once we wrapped our heads around it is what it is. Don't expect luxury or even the normal standards for hotels. Cleanliness was satisfactory, but bring shower shoes in case you have to share showers. Overall, this hotel would not be on my list of places to stay again if I can help it, however, if in a dire bind, I could manage it.

For Pensioners or When no option left !!

Stayed there for 3 nights and No doubt
- Fantastic Location
- Clean vicinity
- Great connectivity (Transport)
- Cute and old style rooms
- Very safe locality
- Has some cool cafes/bars nearby

But as a product not worth paying 200 euros per night --
- Still have to pay for CHANGE OF BESSSHEETS PER BED (10Euros per bed sheet ).EXPEDIA should have shared this detail very clearly.
- Cubersome internet connection for iPhone and signal very weak in room.need to be in reception floor or near the door of the room
- Facilities provided for the rates as nothing WORSE then a Hostel
- HORRIBLE spring beds ~ makes noise with every breath
- HORRIBLE room cleaning cos once you check in no one cleans the room ... not even dust or broom the floor ...
- IDEA OF ROOM CLEANING IS ---only change of towels.
- Exactly SAME items for all 3 days ... for breakfast no change not even bakeries option.
- Cramped up RESTAURANT definitely not designed for the no. of pax in rooms - tooo small

Also to share ,
Lady at restaurant for break fast very sweet and accommodating rest are OKAY !!

Hotel needs to understand if they are a concept then they also adhere to the price bracket... if you are charging 190-200 euros per night for that period some BASICS to be included

We stayed in one of the family apartments which was on the fourth floor (no lift). It had two bedrooms and a bathroom plus kitchen facilities in one of the rooms (including a fridge and hob). There were two double beds and one single bed. The facilities were adequate (beds comfortable and clean) but the kitchen area could have been cleaner. The bathroom was small and the shower head couldn't be angled correctly in it's holder to have a proper shower - had to be hand held - but it worked. Breakfast was good and included hard boiled eggs, cold meat/cheese, warm rolls, croissants, cakes, cereal, juices, coffee etc. Staff were friendly and helpful. Shower gel/shampoo provided and hairdryer available on request.

Exceptional Value for Groups/Families

If you are traveling with multiple people or as a family, this hotel should garner serious consideration. We reserved two rooms, one for us as a couple and one for a family of four. The Pension is wonderfully located near a variety of eating and shopping options and just a block away from a main market area. The building and many of its fixtures are old, as first evidenced by the stairs, but don't be deterred. Upon check-in, Marie upgraded the family to their largest room which was cavernous, had a separate kitchen, and huge bathroom. Our room wasn't much smaller, though the bathroom bordered on minuscule and could have used a bit of updating. However, it was very clean and as my husband and I aren't picky, we made it work. The beds were more comfortable than many we've experienced in Germany and with the windows closed, silence reigned. There is a robust and delicious European breakfast in a darling breakfast room. For the location, price, size, food, and service, our entire entourage agreed that we would definitely stay there again.

The location is excellent. The breakfast had a nice selection.
The rest leaves a lot to be desired and due to that this old pension did not feel clean to us.
To add to that, when we got to our room the room had not been cleaned after the last people had left.
We were glad we had booked only one night.

The breakfast was good! The room was fine because the location of the hotel was nearby anything but the bathroom was not realy clean the tiles were dirty and the tissues was not replace the empty box AND it look as if it was empty or something.
There were only continental pillows and I couldn't sleep on it, this was very disappointing and discomforted. I complained about the bathroom that was not clean whitch they clean but I asked to clean which the guy s did, but then nobody clean the room I had to clean and self'.
They should think of upgrading because continental pillows are not for sleeping and comfort, and the roomsdecor are outdated!!!

Great stay!!

I recently stayed at the pension and had a great experience. The room was cute like a german style cottage. It was cozy and the beds were comfortable. The host of the pension was very helpful and informative as well friendly. We told him we were leaving early in the morning and we wouldnt be able to have breakfast so, he accommodated us making sure we ate before we checked out. The breakfast was the BEST buffet breakfast compared to other pensions and hotels i stayed in europe. The pension was also in a great location - 2 minute walk to the marienplatz square. would definitely recommend to anyone staying in munich!

It's all about the location!

Just steps from the market and Marienplatz. Great old pension that has been well maintained. Don't go there looking for lots of amenities. It's clean, quiet and serves an awesome continental breakfast. The staff is very accommodating. They work hard to make sure you have a great time in their city.

Not Fancy but All You Will Need

I was traveling alone so this pension was fine. If you like to stay somewhere fancy, this is not for you. It is old but it was very clean and it was in a superb location. It is only a short walk to Marienplatz. From the airport (S-Bahn 8) you will want to get off at the Isador S-Bahn station. When you come up to street level just follow the tram tracks on your left and keep walking straight for about 8-10 minutes. The breakfast served was more than adequate. At 3 euros a day I could have access to the internet on my devices but tell them how many devices for full access. I would stay here again for the location, breakfast and cleanliness.

Wifi was 2 euro and did not work so we went to the cafe down the street and that was free. The room smelt really bad and the beds weren't comfy at all. The only decent part is the location but I would of rather spend an extra $15 euro and pick a hotel a bit further because everything is walking distance.

Comfortable and affordable. Great breakfast! No elevator and could be a long walk if you're on the upper floors. Great neighborhood, very convenient to everything. Clean and safe place to stay. I would stay there again.

Do Not Stay Here

We went to Munich for Oktoberfest and this \"hotel\" was listed in a trusted guide book we normally use. The location is fabulous - right near the Marienplatz. Everything else about it, however, was horrible. The neighborhood is quesionable; the mattress was as thin as cardboard; the room was not clean. Despite sending numerous emails prior to arrival to confirm my reservation (which was prepaid through this site) we arrived to find they had no record of us. We then were offered one of the \"extra\" rooms, which appears to be an unused apartment (without the kitchen). The other negative reviews about trying to keep your paperwork, claiming you have not paid, etc. were all true. I had read these reviews before we left (which unfortunately had not been available at the time of booking) so I was prepared and did not make the same mistakes. Thank goodness we were only there two nights, and we left early on the last day (without showering because the bathroom was so awful) and went to our next destination to clean up. We will never stay here again no matter how convenient the location.

Good except for one clerk.

Room is clean. Very convenient to City Center. Extremely rude clerk working when i checked in late that evening. The day time manager and staff were very kind and helpful answering questions. The young woman working the night i checked in was very rude. Rooms are somewhat noisy with business noise below, but you won't find a better deal this close to city center.

One star with great breakfast

Linens on the beds were clean, location was perfect for the market and breakfast was great. Other than that it is a ONE star hotel. It was hard to access the hotel entrance--you have to gain entrance by pushing a button(with no label). Then wait on someone to let you inside the bldg. Next climb stairs to a dark hallway with an unlabeled door that you enter to where you eat breakfast--there is a small office in the back corner. The man running this office was rude and could not find our reservation even though we had a confirmation #. After much persistence we were able to get a room, but we had to wait a couple hours for cleaning. When the going gets tough, the tough go shopping! Our room was very small, noisy (on the street and window must stay open )there is no a/c and the phone didn't work. The bathroom appliances all touch each other. You climb up into the shower Pedestal, slide past the sink to use the toilet (be careful not to hit your head on the sink--seriously! The breakfast room is small and quite quaint. The buffet has lots of local breads and pastries to choose from--you will not leave hungry.

Preiswerte Unterkunft nur 5 Minuten Fußweg vom Marienplatz entfernt. Einfach, sauber, ruhig obwohl sehr Zentral. Frühstück ohne Aufpreis inbegriffen war gut. Großer Vorteil ist die Lage und ein dafür aktraktiver Preis. Ich komme gerne wieder.

Mögel på större delen av badrumstaket, rummet var råkallt och smutsigt. Minst sagt försummat underhåll både i rummet, men även i hela huset som helhet. Personalen var inte kund-/serviceinriktade alls, de satt mest instängda på sitt kontor och bevärdigade sig inte med att hälsa om de gick förbi. Knappt att de dukade undan efter färdiga frukostgäster.

Die ganze Pension stinkt nach Rauch bzw kalten Rauch. Die Übernachtung war nur mit geöffnetem Fenster möglich. Und das im November. Das Bad richt nach Bad, das WC nach WC. Der Fernseher war ohne Empfang. Eine Steckdose lag abgerissen im Raum.

Das Frühstück war ok. Das Personal wirkte desinterssiert.

Abends war wohl ein Kiffertreff in der oberen Etage.

Struttura obsoleta e servizio scadente

Decisamente negativa la mia esperienza personale alla luce della pulizia effettuata lasciando tutto il materiale a terra in mezzo al corridoio vicino la cucina, dotazione della Camera consistente in lenzuola vecchie e ingiallite bagno vecchio e malmesso e accesso alla struttura con scale rotte . Inoltre il personale di reception che credo sia a conduzione familiare decisamente sgarbato, non dà segno di parlare inglese e in generale è privo di qualsiasi accenno di cortesia. Rapporto qualità bassa prezzo piuttosto alto. Cosa potrei aggiungere?

Zimmer ok, einigermassen bequem; vorteilhaft ist die Küchenzeile; Lage gut am Rande der Altstadt / Fussgängerzone; schöne Geschäfte u. Restaurants in der Nähe.
Völlig indiskutabel war das Einchecken. Ich musste nach dem Check-in per QR-Code ( nur mithilfe einer netten Mitarbeiterin möglich, da seitens der Betreiberfirma darüber keinerlei Info) ganze 4 Stunden auf den Zugangscode zum Zimmer warten und dies auch nur, weil ich advanzia einschaltete. Kommunikation mit der Wohnungsanbieter-Firma war nicht möglich: die angegebene Tel.-Nr war nach Anwahl sofort besetzt, auf Mails wurde nicht reagiert. Es war eine reine Katastrophe. Ich musste einen verabredeten Termin absagen, da ich nicht ins Zimmer kam. Check-In war für 15 Uhr zugesagt, ich konnte um 19 Uhr ins Zimmer. Wer eine derart unpersönliche Behandlung mag, soll gern diese Wohnung mieten. Anderen wird abgeraten!

Una noche en Múnich

Queríamos ir al museo BMW y la Hofbräuhaus por lo tanto este alojamiento cumplió por última hora. El edificio algo viejo, pero limpio y las habitaciones regular, aunque las camas ok para dormir. La muchacha de recepción toda servicial y muy atenta a nuestras necesidades. El desayuno bueno y consistente. Para solo descansar una noche valió la pena. Si vienes con carro, hay que ver con suerte si consigues puesto en la calle en el frente del edificio y es de pago, 2 € por hora hasta las 11pm.

Oktoberfest weekend

Practical location next to the Old town , a couple of minutes from Marienplatz and walking distance (20 -25 min) Theresienwiesen where the Oktoberfest is organized. The location is not a hotel, but as the name says a Pension/Lodge or motel style rather. But it is perfect for a weekend or more if you do need fancy rooms. I had a single room with a comfortable bed and quiet. The breakfast is good in a very cozy space. I would come back. But an important suggestion to the owner is to send the codes for the keys by email, not on a paper in an envelope on the front door in case you come late.
