Opera hotel is definitely a hidden gem in the heart of the south bronx. Close to all transportation, shopping and food. The hotel staff and accommodations were wonderful. They have limited parking and a smoking area outside with a cute bench to relax on. They have some of the best coffee offered 24/7. Spoiler alert: Don't be alarmed by the locals (homeless, addicts, unemployed and street vendors) that hang out in the area, they never bothered us and we went in and out all times of the day and night without any issues. I would absolutely recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the city and want to see more than the tourist spots. This location gives the real ny experience.

Hotel inside was awesome the neighborhood it's in wasnt great but what you should expect staying in south bronx. Parking is not great unless you find the few parking spots they have in the back of the hotel. I was with my mom which she has a handicap ♿️ and there was one spot left. Besides that staff were helpful and nice ! Would come back if I visit NYC

The hotel is recently remodeled and they’ve done a good job of making it comfortable. The staff was friendly, though it took us a couple calls to get shampoo and soap for our room. The hotel area is not a touristy area, and we didn’t go out at night but we didn’t feel unsafe at any point.

EXCELLENT hotel with real KING beds. Yes, the short walk to the subway station is...colorful, but not dangerous or threatening. Me and my wife came back from Manhattan by subway 6 nights in a row around 2 am without any problems. If you're affraid of your shadow, you can take a uber, but you will be missing out the feel of the city. Again, the hotel was PERFECT !

I come to New York around this time annually to go to the Hip Hop Ed Conference. I choose to stay at Opera House instead of a closer hotel because of the beauty of the hotel and how nice the staff is. Zue is usually who I'm greeted by year after year and she is kind and knowledgeable. Give that lady a raise! I'll be back next year!

We were greeted at around 5:00 PM. The staff that was on shift was kind, receiving and very accommodating. We reserved two rooms and they were both exceptionally clean. The beds are comfy, the A/C works great and the water runs hot instantly. We also had the complimentary breakfast and even though it's a small selection, everything was fresh. We would greatly recommend this place and will most likely be back!!

The rooms were clean, with daily housekeeping (which seems rare post Covid) There is a subway stop just a couple blocks down so getting around was convenient. The continental breakfast was overall basic, but good coffee. Even afternoon cookies. If I had a need to stay on the area again, would definitely stay again

The Continental Breakfast was bird food … bagels Cereal and cookies … came early .. front desk person was great … then from that point on “out to lunch “ not knowledgeable of the area .. not helpful … air conditioning either Extremely cold or off .. you can’t adjust the AC ..

I had a pleasant stay at The Opera House Hotel. Stephanie was the main host I interacted with; she was very helpful and quick to assist with anything I needed. The entire staff was friendly and supportive. The hotel also had police officers on-site regularly, not for emergency calls, but for breaks, which helped maintain a safe environment for guests.

Stayed here during a very important graduation trip and had a really good experience overall. The room was clean, comfortable, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. Check-in went smoothly and the hotel location worked well for getting around NYC. I especially appreciated the staff helping with timing and luggage coordination before the event. The only small issue was limited early check-in flexibility, but everything worked out well in the end.

The Opera House Hotel is a gem in the south Bronx. Check in was very smooth and we were given a sheet explaining how everything \"works\" at the hotel. I can't emphasize enough how clean the property was. I couldn't say the same for the sidewalks outside, but inside was very impressive. Even the elevators and the stairwells were spotless. We thought the elevator was a bit sluggish, but got the job done. The room was also very clean and tidy. We thought the bulbs in the lamps on either side of the bed were fairly dim, but we preferred them to the overhead light. One of the switches was very loose and you had to hold the bulb still to turn the switch. Likewise, the desklamp had no bulb in it. Had we spent more time in the room we would have probably asked about a new bulb for that fixture. Unlike most hotels we've stayed at, there were no complimentary containers of shampoo or lotion. The shower in the bathroom was very modern and clean. There were soap, shampoo, and conditioner dispensers in the shower. The closet in the room was nice and big, with hangers, but there was no hair dryer or iron/ironing board in the room. The bed was comfortable but the laarge pillows were fairly solid and not the most comfortable to us. We felt it was fairly warm in the room, even though outside temps were in the 50s and 60s. We ended up running the AC to keep the room comfortable. We were happy with our stay and will probably stay there again on our next visit to our son's family.

I always enjoy staying at this hotel for its convenience. The staff are consistently pleasant and accommodating, especially for a property tucked away in the Bronx.

This is a five star hotel in the Bronx. If you are driving, there a limited number of free gated guest parking on a first come first serve basis, which was a pleasant surprise to me since I was already prepared to pay for parking in a 3rd party garage. I loved this place.

I liked there was secure parking available even though it was a small parking lot, first come first serve. The room was as pictured. There was plenty of room for the 3 of us. Room was nice and clean. I did find that there was not enough water pressure in the bathroom toilet and shower but that may not be the hotels fault. There’s a Dunkin Donut in the same street, a few good restaurants and a nice supermarket in the corner; however, the area isn’t the safest. Overall, my stay was pleasant and fit my purpose.
