We had a room Party across. No sleep for us. Door slamming and loud talking all night. There was no one on premises to do something about it.
Room is good as is location. Staff friendly otherwise.

We stayed at JAMS from December 5-10. From checkin to checkout, the experience was fantastic! Knowledgeable front desk staff helped us navigate Munich in the most efficient way to optimize our time.

The room itself was very clean and offered the unusual king sized bed configuration. The hotel is tucked away in a quiet area but still very accessible to the subway station (5 minute walk). We were able to access Marienplatz in a ten minute subway ride.

The breakfast bar was as you’d expect at a European continental breakfast - meats, cheeses and breads galore. As an added tip, if you want something warm to eat like an omelet, you can order that from the server and the cook will whip one up for you!

Would it have been more convenient to stay by Marienplatz? Yes! BUT, we enjoyed being able to come back to a quiet area and away from the hustle and bustle of the Christmas markets.

We would definitely stay at JAMS again when we go back to Munich!!

Funky, fun floor themes. Restaurant was pretty good, breakfast was good and had plenty of options. The front desk staff was great. One server in the restaurant was fairly rude to my traveling companion on the first night, so we went across the street to a lovely restaurant instead, and really enjoyed our dinner. My traveling companion had issues with noise from her neighbors, and her door didn't lock, so that was sub-par. I enjoyed having a bluetooth speaker in the room, so I could listen to my music in the mornings while I got ready. And the location, a block from the tram and only a few blocks from a central subway line, was ideal.

I had two rooms. One for my parents and one for my sibling and me.
The heating didn’t work and we needed to order a heater to the room.
The toilet is a closet and is really small.
The rooms didn’t have a tea or coffee machine which is standard even in a motel.
The breakfast didn’t have a lot of options in the morning.
Note- the shower is not exactly private so let’s say this hotel is not family friendly.

Staff was helpful, the issue is the hotel and the amenities itself.

We travel a lot, Germany was not necessarily the easiest to find small properties with reasonable prices. Many businesses had intentionally inflated their rates because of Oktoberfest. As fun and festive Oktoberfest is to experience, the event is located in a large outside space that you need to find your way to, and navigate through thousands of festival goers and probably get discouraged from paying for overpriced food and beer, especially when it’s next to impossible to enter a bier garten. Despite all that, Design-Hotel JAMS was a property worth the time researching. Barely a 10 walk from the subway, barely a 15 minute walk to Altstadt… the hotel sits on an arm of a circle that you can walk an entire 360 degrees and back to the hotel with endless things to admire, appreciate, dine, and enjoy and realize you may not even need transportation if you take your time to stroll through this historic beautiful part of the city. The hotel was all around cute, clean, and the staff “uber” friendly as well as friendly. The quality put into the hotel from the rooms to the restaurant is mentally satisfying which is why we prefer to research boutique hotels versus large properties where we find we are just another reservation. The breakfast was hand crafted from the endless coffee options, to the cheeses, cured meats, breads, and individually made omelettes. If we find our way ever back to Munich, JAMS is a hotel we’d be happy to spend time at again. Thank you team at JAMS!

We really liked this hotel. The decor was cool, the rooms were comfortable and the front desk staff was excellent.
The only negative I can say about this property concerns the bar /breakfast service area. We went in for a drink at the bar one evening and there was only 1 bartender to service the entire room (dinner & bar service). He was friendly but overwhelmed and the service ended up being slow. He was very apologetic.
We checked out early on a Saturday morning (before breakfast was to be served). The front desk clerk suggested that we could grab a coffee from the bar & maybe a muffin to eat before we left … we went in to the bar/restaurant and the staff working there was very irritated with us for coming in and wasn’t interested in serving us. She never “warmed up” to us, even after the Front Desk Clerk came in to talk to her in our before.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel & would return but likely wouldn’t go in to the bar / restaurant.

I LOVED staying at this hotel. We were lucky enough to get a room with air conditioning. It's a beautiful hotel with a great theme. The staff was PHENOMENAL, answering any questions we had and storing all of our luggage for us on our last day (we were traveling in a group of 12). The rooms are nice and there is an elevator. We were even allowed to play cards in the lobby bar in the evenings. There is a tram stop about 500 feet away so it's easy to get around in the city.

The staff was incredibly polite and helpful. The bar and the restaurant area are really nice. However, the room was incredibly hot and the portable AC was not sufficient enough to cool it down which can be a pain when traveling with a small kid. Everything else was great.

A fantastic off the walls hotel with really nice staff members as well as a great location. The biggest downside was that there was no A/C which was absolutely brutal in the summer as an American. To their credit they did have a portable A/C unit but it just did not hold up in the heat.

We stayed at the hotel September 2024 for Oktoberfest. I read review about rooms being a bit hot, but honestly they weren’t that hot. We cracked a window and it was fine. Everyone and I mean everyone at this property were fantastic. Especially the bartender at the restaurant (he also checked us in) he was the absolute best and made our stay even better! Merci to him!

Hotel bar disturbed our sleep

I had a room that was directly above the bar. On Friday and Saturday nights, they have loud music playing. The receptionist said a law in Germany requires all bars to turn down the music at 10:00 but it didn’t matter. We could hear people and music very late. It disturbed me, my parents next door, and also my sister on a different floor. Also, the showers in all three rooms leaked a lot of water all over the floor. There was a puddle of standing water at least a foot long outside the shower. This wouldn't be much of a problem in a regular bathroom but the shower is right next to the bed and it got my suitcase wet.

No AC, too hot, noisy and WiFi doesn’t work

Cute hotel with lovely staff and great location. Overall I would not stay here again or recommend this hotel due to the misrepresentation of their listing, and the fact that I barely slept during the 5 nights I stayed here.

No A/C! For me this is a necessity in the summer. However, there were not even air vents in the room. The windows only opened a little and the street outside is very noisy with construction and unloading of crates of bottles early every morning. I spoke with the manager, he told me “some of the rooms have AC” and brought me a fan, but that was after 3 days of reporting it to the front desk - who of course know there is no AC and can’t help.

WiFi didn’t work in the room. Very unstable connection with <1.5 Mbps and a ping time of >500 ms! I reported to the front desk the first day and they told me they are having problems, yet these were never resolved during my 5 night stay. I have to work late into the evening, so this was a major problem. Even the WiFi in the public areas was slow and unstable.

There are so many things I loved about this hotel but i wouldn’t stay here again and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone needing AC or fast WiFi. The manager did offer me free drinks from the bar, but I wasn’t here to drink, I was here to sleep and work, and this hotel did not deliver what they promised in their listing.

We came for the week and booked a comfort suite. We found the service to be very good. The breakfast staff was amazing and very friendly.

There’s an extensive continental breakfast with a variety of speciality coffees that they make on demand. They’ll also provide cooked eggs and juice if requested. The breakfast area is also comfortable.

Our room was spacious but we learned after we booked that although the website still says free mini-bar they had discounted this service. Biggest concern was that there was no AC even though the website stated it which caused us to be very warm on some nights. When asked, the clerk said the compressor wasn’t working. There was no AC all week.

So while the service was solid, we would not return due to the items listed above.

Beds are a bit hard for American standards, but that is normal in Germany. Pillows are too soft as well. If you like sleeping on hard beds, then this is probably comfortable for you.

JAMS Music Hotel was recommended by friends who live in the area. We enjoyed the hotel's cool vibe and decor. The hotel has cool Rock royalty decor throughout the hotel. I wish they put more Rock decor in the rooms. The shower was great pressure, however you have to add a lot of towels on the floor to contain the water that comes from the shower - but we managed. The bar area seemed to be happening and very popular. The breakfast was plentiful and great with fresh bread, meat/cheese options, baked goods, eggs and Capuccinos. The staff was very friendly. the area is very convenient to walk to the metro tram and walk to many restaurants in the area.

Honestly one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in, and I have stayed in many. It was very clean, very unique and cute! and many personalized touches. The bed was SO comfortable and massive for Europe, there was even blackout curtains. Breakfast was very good with fabulous service, and a free minibar?!?! I have never had so many perks from one room before. It was a really nice touch that you could take records up to your room and play them on the record so player and there was even 2 bluetooth speakers! The shower and staff were amazing too. Seriously, I could not say enough good things about this hotel. A great value. And although its not right in the city, it is a very easy and quick train ride away. I would stay here 100 times over! Definitely recommend.

Cracking location at only 20 minute walk to Marienplatz. funky and super vibe. Great staff and super value. Love the idea of the free minibar in your room - soft drinks, water and beer is a nice touch. Breakfast is just enough and also included. Lovely comfy beds. Standard Rooms are on the small side but great for a week or less. Perfect for my three night stay.

Great hotel. I came over for a conference and my wife came over as well to make a weekend of it and we booked JAMS because of its location and it looked a bit different.

Really happy we did, the staff were excellent, the hotel room was great, loved the record player in it. In particular the bar manager was great fun, a real character. We also borrowed the complimentary bikes and took them for a ride around the English Gardens and then back through town, which was a particular highlight.

The hotel is very well connected to get to and from the airport and a quick 20 minute walk to centre of Munich. I had an issue with the bathroom as the showerdoor would not open and I spent 2 hours trying to get out, there was no alarm button installed in the shower nor in the bathroom, no one heard me call. If I had had a heart attack I would be dead by now. The receptionist was amazed and confused, but no apologies or anything.

Nice unexpected night in Munich.

We booked this hotel last minute as our flight home was cancelled. The check in process was simple, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. There were plenty of complimentary drinks on offer and the theme of the hotel was a nice touch, even though all we really wanted to do at that point was sleep. Our only issue was that the room was a bit too warm and we couldn't work out how to adjust the heating. We ended up opening the window but it was less than ideal given the wind outside.

The room has a separate toilet, but the shower is just in the middle of the room. It wasn't an issue for us as a couple but might be a problem for people who would rather not watch each other shower.

This was for a business trip and myself as an employee stayed here for Expo Real conference.
I am personaly quite picky when it comes to hotels, and i can comfortably say this was one of the best hotels i have stayed with. Service and staff on reception is 10 out of 10, amazing. Location is great and 5 minute walk from metro and 15 minute walk from munich city centre. Hotel is clean and rooms are immaculate. So quirky, with a vinyle record player in every room, free mini bar as well!

Não tem ar condicionado. Não só para refrigerar mas também pra circular ar no quarto. Abrindo a janela o barulho da rua incomoda. Hotel de 2,5/3 estrelas.
