The booking must be paid up front at the time the reservation is made and cannot be cancelled once you arrive at the property. Once we arrived, our experience was terrible. There was no one to greet us and explain the check-in process. When I called the number provided, a person provided instructions which were difficult to follow and we would not have been able to even enter the property without help from someone who was staying there.

The property itself was very poorly maintained (not at all what was advertised) and very dirty. We did not check-in and sought out other accommodations.

I tried to obtain a refund through expedia but received none, as they informed me that they tried to contact the property unsuccessfully. This was a truly disappointing experience to an otherwise wonderful trip.

This was the perfect place to stay in Rome. Easy to walk to most of the main attractions. We had two groups and were able to have two spacious rooms with a shared lounge area. The courtroom was charming and the staff was super helpful. They have a lift that works, but is small. So be ready to take multiple trips if you don’t want to lug it up 3-5 flights of stairs.

Honestly, don’t stay here. The photos online make the property look much larger and more luxurious than it actually is. The room feels extremely small, and the entry system is a hassle because the doors often don’t work properly. For the amount they charge, I expected a much better experience. Very disappointing and not worth the price.

Rooms are not sound proof, we were next to one of the common lounge areas and heard everything as if they were in our room, also every footstep and beeping of door codes being entered.
The shower grout needs a good scrub
It's other wise a lovely modern hotel, conveniently located to the station and walking distance to all the tourist attractions.

That staff was very helpful and quick to responding on WhatsApp. The area felt very safe with the gated area. The codes were easy to use for the entrance. I also appreciated they would store our luggage early and even held it after our checkout. They also had a bathroom with a shower we could use when we came back after checkout to get our luggage they held for us.

A gem of a place to stay in an excellent location. Very stylish and great information/communications about arrival and access. It would have been wonderful to have a wider choice of hot drinks available in the shared lounge/kitchen area for the early mornings (I can't drink caffeine!) and the occupant of the next door room in our apartment was noisy one night, but the staff team were responsive and very helpful. Thank you; I would definitely stay again.

The property location is very convenient for those looking to be close to coliseum, termini area and more. The problem we have was the accessibility to our room, there are several doors and gates with keypads entry code that didn’t work all the time, when you book a hotel stay everything should be functional after paying $30.00 early check in but our minibar was not, I have to contact the staff via WhatsApp in numerous time to address the access issues, in two different occasions we get access to the property by others and we have access to a family that was having the same issue, they are only in person from 8:30 to 13:30 which is very inconvenient. I will not recommend this stay to anyone.

An employee is only on duty about five hours a day, starting in the morning. The Expedia listing says someone is there 10 AM to 10 PM. It is a keyless entry system requiring inputting a personal code at four different doors to gain access to your room. None of that is explained before booking the room. On two different nights, my code did not work on one of the exterior doors. I WhatApp texted their virtual employee who had someone call me to get me in. The next night it happened again. Someone responded within a minute that someone would be helping me. I texted for help twice more in the next 47 minutes for help before I got a reply. And then it was another hour and and a half (12:36 AM) before someone texted me a resolution. Fortunately other travelers came through who had had the same problem and they had been given a special code to get access and I got in with them. Having no one at the property beyond their five hours in the morning, and a keyless system did NOT work for me. There was also a safety light for the step in the room that was motion activated and it would light up the room like a floodlight even if I rolled over in bed. That was very annoying. The room was clean, the location was good. And I would not stay here again.

Property was clean. The staff friendly and helpful. Room temperature was well maintained. Many shops nearby as well as restaurants. I’m not a shopper so I can’t say much. Amenities could have been better. Towels were large and absorbent. I would have liked the shower to have grab bars. Hotel is part of an old building so take that into consideration. No breakfast included. Would like to see decaf coffee at their coffee station as well. All in all we had a positive and welcoming experience. Note that there are many steps in and around the building. Rome is not a particularly welcoming city for handicapped people. The city is old and you need to understand that their heritage is part of their architecture. Enjoy! We did

This hotel is very convenient to Roma Termini station and next door to Basilica Santa Maria Maggiore. Very clean, helpful and responsive staff. We could have used some microwaveable plates and utensils. Might have been there but could not find any when I looked. Plenty of cafes for breakfast. Our room faced the courtyard and was quiet at night. Room access was easy and secure. We would stay there again!

The hotel is in a fantastic location. When we got to the hotel it was difficult to get in. We weren't given a code. When I messaged the hotel I didnt get a response for 4 hours. We couldnt hear on the intercom and it took us multiple trys before realizing there was a small door in the large door that pushed in. Other guests were able to direct us to the third floor to check in. This all made ot very safe. The room was standard. The bed comfortable, the pillows nots so much. No view. Only a shampoo/body wash. The TV didnt have smart options so only Italian tv but with all Rome has to offer it didnt matter. Great restaurants nearby. Overall not bad, but not great.

This property was not what we expected or what it looked like in the photos. The room was dated and dirty. The tiles in the bathroom were dark and dingy. The floor was filthy, we did not take our socks off. The layout of the building was odd. While I appreciate the safety of having a locked building, there were four (4) keypads to use just to get into our room. They also made us pay the city tax in cash/euro. We had to make another trip to the ATM and get charged more fees because they refused card payments. The noise level was also horrible. Not only did the church (right across the street) bells ring early in the morning but the small grocery store below our room had a delivery every morning before 6am and the would use a metal ramp and cart to load the store causing a terrible sound and waking us up. We will not be returning.

The place is in a great location. we had to share an ironing board and iron. there was no mirror in the room. The bathroom smelled like sewer we had to keep the door closed. the bathroom door lock did not work. Couldn't prepare coffee in room had to go out in the hall. It was ok, but for the price I paid I was honestly expecting a lot more.

Great location. The hotel is very laxking in any ammenities. It is an office floor in a commercial building that were refurbished cheaply to be a \"hotel\".
Not family friendly. Very Very Very uncomfortable bed, hard and knotty. We didnt have Wifi for almost half a day. There is no privacy, you can hear EVERYTHING from all the other rooms.
For the price I would recommend another hotel

The bed was really old and worn out. had holes (Dips) on each side. my back was killing me after the first night. I mentioned it to the desk clerk. she was apologetic and contacted the owner to inquire about changing our room. owner did he had an upgraded room available for €35 extra. I didn't feel like I should have to pay for a decent bed a I was already paying over €240/ night. The mattress needs to be replaced. Don't stay here if you have anything less than a perfect back! The desk staff were very nice though.

Location wise the accommodation was relatively close to most attractions and I liked not having a physical key to access the property and room. We did, however, unfortunately have a strong ‘drainage’ smell in our room the entire stay. Additionally, there were not many plug outlets and none of the USB points seemed to work.
The walls were relatively thin and so noise from other rooms/ bathrooms was also audible at times.

This hotel is an incredible value. Minutes from Roma Termini and the Monti neighborhood by foot, and easy walks to all the major attractions. Villa Borghese was a bit more of a hike, but walking around Rome is an attraction itself. So many great restaurants nearby - it really is impossible to find bad food in Rome, or at least in Monti. The room itself was great - nicely updated, and just the right size. The beds could have been more comfortable, but we still slept fine. The security system is a double edged sword - it’s nice knowing you are so safe, but also a pain to have to enter the code multiple times on your way to your room. The courtyard seating is the real MVP as you can bring your gelato from Gelateria Aurora, which has no seating, and enjoy it away from the busy street. It would have been nice to have coffee in the room, but the common area was very close and not a big deal to walk out to in the morning. If you’re looking for exceptional value, an awesome neighborhood, and a clean comfortable room, this is your place.

The rooms are clean enough, the sheets and towels are replaced daily which is good. Staff were excellent and really friendly, helpful etc.

There are no spare sockets - only enough for the 3 lights, so in order to charge your gadgets you need to unplug a light. This is manageable but a little bit annoying at times. Also worth noting there is no coffee/tea in the rooms, only in the shared foyer of each apartment block. Again this is ok but would be handy to have something in the room.

Location wise it’s fairly good - you can walk to all the main tourist attractions if you feel energetic enough or get the tube which is close by and very easy - $8.50 for a 24hr pass.

If we went again we would probably aim to stay a bit closer to the colosseum area as this is right in the thick of it and at the start of the main drag through Rome. This area also has a slightly better selection of places to eat although there are plenty everywhere.

Overall very enjoyable trip - it is what you make of it, we had a great time and loved Rome!

What a hidden gem. Close to Rome terminus, making a late arrival easy. Access is through door codes, which is a brilliant idea. I had a few issues with this and thiught my codes were wrong - turns out i needed to use ny bodybweight to move the large wooden outer doors so remember this! The room was beautiful and staff tolerant and helpful, even when I created havoc getting nyself locked out.

The whatsapp support was brilliant and they were truly responsive which gets them 5 stars

I had no trouble walking to all the attractions but if you are less mobile there are taxis and buses nearby and Domus will arrange an airpot car for you. I would definitely stay again

This was my second stay at the Domus Liberius. I was very impressed with the location, cleanliness and staff last summer, so I decided to stay there again. Lisa and Sal were once again very patient with my use of the Italian language. I'd been working on some more phrases since last year. I can highly reccommend this accommodation. The location was good, the room was good but would have preferred a kettle in the room, there was one in a communal lounge only a short walk down a corridor but not ideal in my opinion when you like to get up and get a hot drink . Lift wasn't working on arrival, we were the 3rd floor but a word at reception and it was soon sorted. The ladies on reception were lovely friendly and helpful.To me it was a little strange but maybe the Italian way, I don't know, but all in all it served our purpose.
