MO has mastered the fine art of 'the details.\" All staff were amazing. Location is easily within walking distance to most sites. Rooftop bar has the most spectacular view of Munich. As a traveler that has been blessed to stay at some of the best hotels of the world, MO Munich is without a doubt one of my most favorite. You can't go wrong staying with MO, but MO Munich is a must.

Our family had a wonderful stay at MO, we stayed two nights and were sad to leave. Our room was amazing, the staff could not have been more kind, esp Aaron, and we felt well taken care of. The hotel is elegant without being pretentious. We will return. Munich is a lovely city!

Our experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing. During our stay, our packages, which contained cherished items such as our favorite pastries, fruit, nuts, chocolates, and a pair of my wife’s glasses, were mistakenly thrown into the garbage. These items were a collection of small treasures we had gathered during our travels across Europe.

Initially, the cleaning crew denied any wrongdoing, and the hotel manager treated us poorly, refusing to accept responsibility. After hours of arguing, the hotel finally offered minimal financial compensation, which barely covered our losses.

On the final day of our stay, we felt unsafe and experienced the worst hospitality we have ever encountered. This unfortunate incident has drastically changed our perception of the Mandarin Oriental brand, which we once loved.

Always an excellent stay at a Mandarin Oriental! This one in Munich is such an exquisite place, away from the tourist apots yet close to Marienplatz and MaximillianstraBe.

Premium Deluxe Room on the 4/F had great space. Bathroom all electronic! Didnt want to get out of the shower!

Service superb, from Concierge, Front desk and Restaurant.

This is an excellent hotel. Very well appointed and spacious rooms, very convenient location, friendly and attentive staff and wide variety of food at breakfast service. The bedding was very high quality and we had a fantastic sleep's night which was extremely comfortable. All around a very nice experience and in my opinion the best hotel in Munich

Everything was as we would expect from a European luxury hotel. Most important was the personal service from all staff members, including the desk staff, bell staff and concierge. Our room was large and well-appointed. The bath was also large with modern fixtures and plush linens.

We arrived in Munich early the day of our check in and we’re offered a rest on the roof terrace of the hotel which we excepted gladly particularly on a beautiful sunny day overlooking the city of Munich. It was so beautiful we almost reluctantly checked in when called that our room was ready.

Well-appointed luxury hotel with superb service

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mandarin Oriental Munich. Impeccable service right from the first time we stepped out of the taxi that brought us to the hotel. Highest level of hospitality by all staff and the room was spacious and well-maintained with a superb mini bar selection which was complimentary. There was also a yoga mat available for use in the room. The breakfast experience at the restaurant was also impressive. Will definitely make a return visit to MO if we are in Munich.

I have traveled internationally for over 20 years and the Mandarin Oriental Munich was the best ever experience. The staff went out of their way to make sure my wife and I were pampered - not just satisfied. As an example, when my wife became ill, the room service hostess suggested and delivered on her own a mixture of herbs and fruit in a tea blend that was wonderful. Nothing was too hard for the staff at any time day or night. The location can not be beat as everything you could possibly want or to do is easily within walking distance. If I could give 6 stars, I would.

Excellent hotel. All Staff including the Manager were attentive, made you feel welcomed and special in their attention to detail.

Once again, the Mandarin stands out for highly personalized service and excellent quality. I challenge anyone to find a hotel with better service. Nice also to have Matsuhisa restaurant on site. The location in Munich is ideal, a short walk to the Rathaus. I look forward to returning!

Not a 5* deluxe from service point of view

The hotel itself is wonderful, very good and clean rooms, service itself is ok, wonderful breakfast.
But if you need to be treeted like a 5* hotel guest, avoid this property.If you have some trouble during your stay, it will be your fault, not hotel staff, be sure that even you'll be charged for it! Awfull attitude of hotel management. Very disapointing.

Location and Service at its BEST!

You can never lose with the Oriental hotel chains. They're always exquisite! The location of the hotel is fabulous, just steps away from the posh shopping street and a 5 minute walk to Marienplatz, the historical center. I wish I had known beforehand that the hotel was undergoing renovations. These will be finished in October so guests going there after this date will enjoy the beautiful foyer and new restaurant. The room was great, beautiful bathrooms and in general, impeccable service! The rooftop bar and swimming pool are what distinguishes this hotel from the rest. If you're not a guest, you must book having drinks in advance, otherwise they accommodate you. The atmosphere was adult chic, the cocktails wonderful and the food delicious! I highly recommend having drinks here. Overall my stay was great and the Oriental never disappoints!

Great Hotel - but under rennovation (7/15)

I have always dreamed of staying here, and this year in the heat wave decided to splurge on the room. But I was not aware they were renovating when I made the reservation. We were stunned to see scaffolding around what seemed to be the whole hotel (July 2015). We found the temporary door and made our way to the provisional reception on the 3rd floor. But I was 'heart broken' that my this event was different than I imagined.

Once we were settled in the room though the hotel was excellent, as we expected it to be. I'd still love to come back when the building is fully open, but we had a good stay. The roof top patio and pool are not to be missed!

Major refurbishments until September 2015

The hotel is undergoing major refurbishment, so many of the facilities you would expect from a 5* hotel are not available - no spa, no proper bar, no sauna or steam room, reduced breakfast, entrance by a side door only. We were told the refurbishment is scheduled to finish in September 2015. So, while it is in a great location and the room was nice we didn't feel we got a 5* experience at all.

My scheduled changed so my wife and I booked into the Mandarin Oriental for a night. Great location, wonderful service, nice room, and a terrible night's sleep. The pillows on the beds are huge. So huge as to be a real problem. They literally pushed me off the end of the bed all night long, and there was no other substitute in the room. The decorator never slept on those things, or was very short!

I booked this trip as a surprise for my boyfriend. The hotel staff were fantastic, extremely helpful and offered plenty of advice.
Hotel was in the perfect location, a 5 minute walk to the Christmas markets and lots of places to eat/drink right next door.
I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning next year.

What every hotel should be!

We stayed 3 nights at the Mandarin Oriental in Munich and it was a pleasure from the moment we checked in. Every member of the staff was kind, courteous and helpful. The rooms were beautiful and so comfortable we didn't want to leave. We were originally scheduled for one night, but we loved the hotel so much we cancelled our trip to the next city to stay 2 more nights. We will definitely be staying here our next trip to Munich.

Luxurious hotel with a few glitches

The hotel meets the standards of a luxurious hotel, but for the price tag I'd expect more. (WIFI isn't free though.) The minibar didn't get refilled on a few days and the housekeeping forgot to take the used plates and cups twice. The staff was courteous though and the gym was very nice. The location is the best part -- only 5 minutes away from Marienplatz and public transport, and the Hofbrauhaus is just next door.

Wonderful, top line hotel

Beautiful hotel; near ideal location. Staff - especially the concierge - were incredibly helpful and friendly. Room and bathroom are very spacious and well appointed. We dined in the hotel restaurant one evening and it was one of our best dining experiences of the three week trip. We will stay again on our next visit to Munich.

After traveling to Munich for 30 years

I've been traveling to Munich for 30 years and have stayed in all the local premium hotels. This was my first stay in the Mandarin. I was upgraded upon checkin to a larger room, which was fabulous as is the entire property. But what made the difference was the people, I have never received service in Germany like I did at this hotel.

Great for a city break but expensive

A lovely hotel well situated in a quiet area close to centre. However unable to eat at the rooftop Bavarian hut was full on all three nights and booked Marks restaurant at midday for dinner the next night they confirmed ok and four hours later were told we could not eat there as it would be closed for a special event. They claim to have a bistro as well but that is just an area off the lobby and is unwelcoming so eat elsewhere. Bar staff and pianist are great in the evenings.

This has to be one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at! The service is second to none, the quality of the room was great. The concierge was terrific with taking care of our every need or recommending places and things to do. Hotel is a bit tough to get to if you are driving because it is located right in the heart of the action in the Marienplatz area of Munich.
