Very nice boutique hotel. I had no problem with check-in and staff was respectful. The room was very clean and the fridge came stocked with water and local beer. The cleaning staff was so kind and helpful. The hotel is located in an area that is walkable with many restaurants, convenience stores and a couple minutes walk to the beach.

Noisy...i mean serious noise from the road from party buses and vehicles day and night. Breakfast was okay. No inner curtain screens despite room facing the road so we couldn't open the drapes. No fridge in room and the hand soap smells like heavy duty institutional cleaner. Bathroom window is barely tinted so you can see into other bathrooms and i assume they can see into yours...wth!

Had a great time when I was here. The staff was wonderful! especially Mileydis, the waitress in their restaurant, and Jonathan in the reception area. Instead than eating outside, I would suggest going to the GIO restaurant. The meal is much fresher, cheaper and better. Go to the hotel's beach if you haven't reserved one. Excellent security, privacy, and quietness. The DJ was a smash, and the food and beverages were both excellent. Jesus, the tour leader, deserves a shoutout. He made a fantastic host. This hotel won't let you down. Try it out.

The staff pretended to be nice. We were charged an additional fee for my husband who joined me after my 2nd night there. They reason being because of the breakfast included. We could have spent just $2 and got a pretty good breakfast elsewhere. The charges were equal to another hotel night stay. Ridiculous! The. Shower leaked water all the into the bedroom and the bathroom had a putrid odor as well.

My stay was not a good one. There were roaches in the room (3) and it smelled rotten ( mold in shower). I told the overnight clerk and he did nothing. The next morning i left 2 says early and the day staff was friendly and offered another room.

Great Choice!

The hotel is in a great location near the beach, near shops and activity. The interior is very clean and the menu breakfast is tasty. I requested extra portions and beverages and it was no problem! The locals are protesting due to a tax increase , so an 8pm curfew is enforced. There is also an english channel on the TV to accommodate all . Additionally, there is a small refrig in the room to keep items preserved. I recommend !

We had to leave the hotel on the second night, although we had originally booked for 6 nights. when we arrived to cartagena our luggage didn't arrive until the second night at night when we got back to the hotel, around midnight. So when we got back that night ,and saw our luggage, we were happy cause our luggage was here. So we took them up and right before going to bed we found a BED BUG!! I right away called Expedia and Expedia got in contact with them. Then I went downstairs and made a complaint. So lady at front desk tried saying that had something to do with bed bug being there. Cause hey supposedly clean and do this and that. So pretty much thought we were lying or were trying to get something out of it, even after showing evidence. This was all past midnight with calls and all so we had no where to go. They tried convincing us to stay but we couldn't. So what they did was give us another room for the night and we left the next day. Next day manager tried convincing us to stay by offering us a free breakfast. Of course we declined and decided to book another hotel. The staff was really nice overall, just the hotel is a NO. So don't book here!!

Hotel staff were excellent! The included breakfast was an actual breakfast, not just some plain continental breakfast. The staff went above and beyond in helping with several needs outside of normal questions. The facility is a little older but it is well maintained and everything works. It's not as expensive as other hotels nearby but does the job of or a decent place to rest, sleep and get ready for the next outing 😉!

Poor Choice, Not Traveler Friendly

Arrival/Check In: Could not locate the hotel due to its small sign that was obscured. Tried to call hotel for directions, nobody answered (it was around midnight). Finally found hotel after driving and asking many people. The lights were out and it looked closed. Somebody was the to let us in and check us in as well, could not or would not walk us to room and show how the safe operated.

General: Room was a little small but was ok. Heavy odor of mold came from the wall mount air conditioning unit, was uncomfortable to the upper respiratory system Coughing, itching eyes and throat.
Could not make toll free phone calls from the room phone. Could not call front desk from the room phone.
Internet Wi Fi was ok but password changed daily and was about 16 characters in length...

Housekeeping staff was great. Front desk staff not so great. Could not even stand up to address me, did not seem eager to accomodate, I felt like more of a burden than as a guest.

Check Out: Again not good, I had additional expenses, however the credit card would not process, this has turned out to be a problem at their terminal. The Front Desk Attendant threatened to call the police and have me stopped at customs, treated me as if I was trying to steal what would be equivalent to about $60 US Dollars. What a nightmare to be in a foreign country and being threatened with the police at 3:00 in the morning!!!

I would rate this hotel at 3, maybe 3.5 stars. Not a good choice for travelers.

To expensive for what you get

The hotel is old, if you read the name of the Hotel \"Tequendama Inn\" you assume you will get the same quality hotel than the Tequedama in Bogota but not in these case.
Room is pretty small and noise (Windows are regular and noise from the street comes to your room), towels are, the AA doesn't works properly.

In resume the quality of the hotel if far away from what you paid. In my personal oppinion these hotel should be around the US$30 or 40 and just 2 starts.

Breakfast just have eggs, some fruit and coffee or juice nothing more.

These hotel for me is for a quick night and that's all.

Very helpful staff.. At least a few of them spoke enough english that with my limited spanish we were able to communicate. The entire staff was very friendly. Rooms were clean but need to be upgraded. Mine had a broken shower door. Everything was within a two block walk and I never felt unsafe in that neighborhood.

This is a nice hotel in Bocagrande, our room was clean and staff were very helpful.
When you want to away from craziness of the town, you can go to the rooftop deck and relax for a while.
The hotel itself is very quiet, however, super massive bass sound from this party town might bother you til early morning.
ATM, 24hrs market and good restaurants are nearby.

Spend $30 more and get a better hotel

I came to this hotel after a very unfortunate experience from another hotel in the city just to find out that this is not the best choice either.
I stayed there for 4 days and I NEVER had hot water in the shower! Yes I had to carefully consider my shower time due to the cold water.
I tried to speak to the reception a couple of times, and I was told thei'r raising the water heat temperature but that never happened to me.
At the first day I ordered dinner and a bottle of wine to my room and the food came out completely cold not even warm! They gave me a different kind of wine and tried to charge me more for that. The food was not good, it was dry and cold and definitely not worth the price I paid. The room it self has a stinky smell every time you come in to the room. The shower sink had a strong sewage smell coming out of it that made me wanna throw out every time I washed my face. The stuff was very nice people overall but they don't speak English which probably contributed to the lack of communication.
I paid about $70 usd and I don't think it's worth it, I would expect a little more.

The hotel location is very good and the staff attention superb BUT our rooms (we had 3) smelled mold, key-cards did not work properly and one room could not be locked. On the other hand breakfast was excelent and the kitchen responded positively to extra demands. I would recommend the hotel to people that are not too picky and care about good service but not to those who are allergic. For the price though the hotel could offer a little bit more but definitely five stars to the staff!

La zona es 100% segura, acceso al transporte, tranquila el transitar en dia y noche, múltiples opciones de comida, a menos de 2 cuadras para la playa, a 5 minutos en taxi/Uber para ir al muelle, q te lleva a las diferentes Islas. Y de ahi del mueble, caminando a 3 minutos llegas al Getzamani, donde las noches de fiesta nunca faltan. Definitivamente una excelente ubicación del Hotel Gio

Hotel localizado em uma região \"residencial\", tinha comércios ao redor como farmácias, mercados, restaurantes e shoppings. O café da manhã é escolhido através de um cardápio (opção americana, tradicional, europeia). Eles possuem um restaurante que serve almoço e também jantar. O uso da jacuzzi é de 1h por quarto e deve ser reservado na recepção com antecedência. Os quartos são confortáveis; banheiro limpo e com água quente. Um super destaque em especial para a zeladora Emile, super atenciosa, caprichosa, simpática. O hotel foi uma das únicas coisas boas da viagem! A cidade em si é suja; os passeios de Ilhas não é nada do que se vende; se você pedir qualquer informação na rua, é capaz da pessoa te cobrar propina. Cuidado com umas mulheres que ficam na praia de Boca Grande e param turistas para fazer massagem e tranças mesmo você falando que não quer. Elas te cercam, fazem você sentar e na maior cara de pau cobram COP 600.000. As pessoas locais não tem muito respeito com o turista, salvo algumas que são raras exceções!

Todo muy bien, las instalaciones, la ubicación, la atención en el lobby y del personal en general. Los alrededores tranquilos, con varias opciones para comer y un Juan Valdez al lado, fue lo mejor! También hay casas de cambio cercanas, lo único que hay que considerar es que se hace tráfico pesado en ciertas horas pico, para que tomen su tiempo de traslado y no lleguen tarde. En cuanto a los cuartos, son limpios aunque un poco estrechos, pero por el precio creo que está bien. El único detalle que tuvimos durante nuestra estancia fue que no salía agua caliente en la ducha, dos días nos pasó eso, si acaso entibiaba un poquito, sé que es región calurosa, pero igual bañarse con agua fría es difícil para algunos. Ya los otros días si hubo, pero si regulabas con agua fría como que se apagaba la caldera y ya no salía caliente, había que cerrar por completo y volver a abrir la llave jaja.

Pero en general buen hotel, seguro y limpio, que es lo más importante para mi. Ah, nuestra reserva incluía desayuno y estaba bien servido. En las comidas/cenas si batallamos porque muchos platos no los tenían disponibles, o no sé si fue mala suerte nuestra justo el día que queríamos comer ahí.
