Good:
- Stefan is a great host. Staff at reception are great.
- Location is good, very central and close to everything.
- Check-in was pretty easy, straight forward.
- The room was clean, with room service, changing sheets, regularly
- Heated floors in the bathroom, pretty good.
- Room is a bit small (even though it said KING room), but the bed is nice and comfortable, soft.

Things not great:
- Apart from a kettle and some coffee/tea, there are no other amenities, no mini fridge or any other things. Very basic for what it is.
- Shower has no light in there, so it’s dark whilst you shower. There is light in the bathroom, but not in shower, which is strange.
- The actual shower outlet drainage was super blocked. And if your shower water is running too fast, you end up flooding the entire bathroom, because the drain cannot keep up with the speed of the water flow. So you had to be very, very fast, quick and efficient or otherwise you will flood the shower. And the water does go away eventually, but it takes forever.
- On level 3, where I was, it consistently smelt of food, cooking, oil, whatever else went on in the kitchen, its very overpowering and it’s 24/7 the smell throughout the entire level.
- The location and area itself. Whilst it’s central in terms of distance to centre, the actual area itself is very, very foreign and uncomfortable at times, does not make you feel like you’re in Germany. It’s overpopulated by: African, Arab, Middle East and everything else NOT German.

It started at check-in with a large touch screen. You had to type in your info and then it printed your key. It was the next day before we discovered the 1st floor bar/resyurant doubled as a hotel desk. There were no signs or indications the two were related and there was on 1 person on staff. The hotel was almost $500 per night and had desk and bed made of plywood. There was no Air Conditioning and the bed was like a rock. There were both sheer and room darkening drapes but neither set covered the window. We could see people in adjacent rooms when setting on the bed. The lighting was very dim in the room. The plywood desk had a desk lamp with a bulb not much brighter than a nightlight. When taking a shower we found a roach in the shower and the provided blow dryer smoked after a few seconds of use. Finally there was no parking and the extremely limited staff could not even tell us where to park. It was Oktoberfest but even considering this the room was very overpriced. I don’t recommend this hotel unless you can stay for $150 or less.

The room is very basic. Bed is firm and uncomfortable. No air conditioning, so you have to keep the window open. It is an Arabic neighborhood, it is extremely loud until 3am every night. It was impossible to sleep and gets very hot with the window closed. Breakfast was disappointingly minimal also.

The room was clean and our room was a decent size. When we visited it was quite warm and there was not AC, but we opened the window at night and there was a portable fan in the room which was nice. The beer downstairs was great, and we were walking distance to a market, coffee shop, and doner place as well as a 10 minute walk to the main train station. My only complaint would be that it was very loud at night, like there were people screaming/yelling, in the street.

Be warned if you get assigned a room on the street side (vs the courtyard). The rooms run very warm, even when it was quite cold outside so you are forced to open your window to cool down the room and the street outside is incredibly noisy with people and trucks at all hours of the night. Note we are from NYC and are used to sleeping with street noise so this was incredibly loud

One thing that could affect rating.... I am not a smoker (at all). From time to time I could feel as someone smoked through my only window my room had. Staff was very friendly and restaurant on a ground floor is really great! MK has Own, in house (!) Beer brewery! Also great food! Especially Zwiebelrotsbraten! Something you have to try. Service is also great. Very friendly atmosphere!

Nice hotel and great location. But one thing I took for granted and didn't check was that they don't have air conditioning, just a small fan in the room and I was there when the temperature was 30° so it was very hard to be in the room, and there is a restaurant just outside, so even with the windows cracked there was not much circulation and there's a lot of noise from outside

We did not feel safe in this area. The property in itself is also unsafe because anyone off the street is able to use the elevator and gain access to the floors where guests are staying. The elevator should only be activated by use of the security card for the guest rooms.

We arrived before check in time but were able to check in using a kiosk, which was very handy.

We stayed here as it was in walking distance to Oktoberfest but the area was a little sketch to walk around at night as it is next to a bunch of strip clubs. The staff was zero help and barely spoke English or German. You would think the checkin staff would at least speak German. The rooms were not very clean, we had black stuff coming out of the shower when we turned it on and there was mold in the shower. We had 2 fans in our room, both covered in dust that we were not able to clean off easily. You can't leave the windows open for air as there are people screaming till about 4am right outside of the hotel and one of the nights a fight broke out.

One of the worst hotel experiences in my life. It’s in a horrible section and the streets are flooded with skells who harass you when they walk by. One of the cleaning staff used my personal electric shaver and left hair his hair all over the sink and towels. I complained to management and they said there was nothing they could do, and offered me ‘free breakfast’. It was awful and never stay there or near that area.

The room was nice, however can get a bit hot, nothing an open window doesn’t fix (no ac).

Sketchy area - did not realize prior to trip. Room was dirty; floors and toilet were not clean at all, but rest of the room was ok. No aircon and it was really hot outside and it was way too warm to get some real sleep. Close to main train station - very nice.

The property location is just a few minutes walk from hauptbahnhof and in a busy neighborhood with many shops and restaurants. We especially enjoyed the quick access to the hauptbahnhof u-bahn stop as it made our travels around the city very convenient with less walking. Their breakfast service was good and the restaurant was super convenient for a late night bite and drinks--their bier was very good. Being in this location, however, there was a lot of street noise from the area activity. This wasn't a major problem but with no air conditioning in the rooms it meant a choice between air circulation or outside noise. Rooms are simple and nice. Definitely recommend this property to people exploring Munich!

What we like: Location is good, close to station. Easy check-in using the machine as we arrive late.

What we dont like: We lived on the first floor, above the patio. There is always someone chatting/ smoking down there at midnight. Very noisy and smelly. There is no AC so it would either be stuffy and hot if we close the window, or noisy and smelly. The room is also quite dusty.

We were not impressed with this property. It is not a great area and the noise outside made it almost impossible to sleep. There were people partying in the street till the early morning hours and then the street cleaners came by at 4:30. Given the high temperatures and no AC we had no choice but to sleep with the windows open.
The hotel has no proper reception and the the area is sketchy. The single elevator is small and old. We paid $400 CND per night for this place. The room was not cleaned between the two nights I saw a notice in the elevator as we were leaving that this was common practice.
The room itself was very large and clean but the area is not nice. With an erotic store just down the road we did not feel comfortable staying out part 9:30pm and walking back.

Good: a short walk from train station, a short walk to old town, relativelky inexpensive by Munich standards, hot and high pressure shower, very friendly front desk and customer service, EXCELLENT restaurant (the restaurant is highly recommended.)

Bad: room wasn't very clean (the walls could have used a wash), the shower door seal leaked (and had to be blocked with a towel to avoid the entire bathroom floor being flooded), no air conditioning (room was very hot, only a small fan is provided), only one pillow provided per person and no ability to call down to front desk, very noisy (room backed onto beer garden which had loud conversation late at night) and located in a somewhat \"dicey\" area (strip clubs along the street). If this hotel was half the price, it would be reasonable value, but I didn't think it was good value for money and I would not stay again - but I would definitely go to the restaurant.

I read other reviews on this hotel and was concerned with comments that you have to self checkin and that there was a bar downstairs but there is actually a hotel receptionists to check-in with and the bar is actually a restaurant with a small bar area. Not noisy at all. The neighborhood is noisy because there are a lot of hotels and restaurants in the area but we thought that was ok to be so close to the historic district and train station.

I would stay at an MK hotel again. My only issue is that the neighborhood was noisy and the windows didn’t filter out the noise. Staff was excellent and very friendly. Amina and Mikhola were excellent very funny. They make beer on site and it’s very good. And you can take a glass of it up to your room. To power anything in the room you have to insert your room card into a slot and leave it there till you leave the room.
Room for one was comfortable. Bed was comfortable but the pillows too soft.
The hotel is close to the central train station and easy to get to. Food was great. They do have soap dispensers for the sink and in the shower. Nice touch. Plenty of plugs and a few with usb ports. If you don’t mind a little noise then I recommend this MK hotel. I would definitely stay with them again.

The photos look better than in person, and the rooms during the summer months are boiling!!! Cleanliness is also minimal at best. Only a few of the staff were friendly and helpful, with one of them taking good feedback when we shared our insights. The fan is also the weakest fan ever! In many European countries, air conditioning isn’t a thing, but please invest in good-quality fans.
Overall our experience wasn’t the best, and I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

This was a great, clean place to stay close to the train station. It was a bit noisy facing the street in a bustling neighborhood, but it’s part of the charm. The early morning singing was lovely. There are a few seedy bars in the neighborhood, but overall it feels pretty safe and welcoming.

Rooms were great, adjacent brewery was fun. Neighborhood seemed really sketchy at first, quite we got used to it, but I wouldn’t walk there at midnight. The staff don’t seem to understand hospitality. An example; there are tea bags (2) and a kettle in the room. We used them on day one. On day two, they were not replaced. When asked, we were told they didn’t do that. ??? Never heard of such a thing. That’s one small, ridiculous example.

The bed sheets and towels changed daily. Shower was strong and hot. Didn't have much contact with the staff and didn't try the breakfast option. Weren't seriously affected by outside noises.

The hotel was ‘ok’ however it was very expensive for what you got. The room was clean and came with liquid soap but the tea making facilities comprised a kettle on a tray with nothing else not even a cup. My room overlooked the central courtyard which acted like a echo chamber resulting in lack of sleep during the evening clean up and the staff arriving in the morning.
On the plus side the restaurant was good, the food was tasty and well presented. Breakfast as also good with a range of fresh produce on offer.
Would I stay again? Probably not there are plenty of hotels in München and experience here would push me to look elsewhere.

Says on multiple bookingsites that the room has AC but it did only have a small fan that did nothing. The room was a sauna, after one night with no sleep we had to book a room at an other hotel to be able to sleep. And the door to the bathroom didn't open properly so we had to squeeze in through a small opening to get in to the bathroom. Definitely not value for the money. More hostel standard than hotel.

Tienen un pésimo servicio! No son amables… hacia 40 grados y no tenían AC y el ventilador no funcionaba bien, se nos malogro y el señor de recepcion solo contesto que no podia darnos otro, muy malcriado para hablar.
La zona esta céntrica pero terrible, al costado de burdeles…el restaurante y bar solo abría para el desayuno, después estaba cerrado, no te ofrecían amenities.
El trato muy malo, el servicio muy malo, la zona de terror, no lo recomendaría a nadie.

Mediocre Stay

Clean room. Street noise was not good. No air conditioning and to loud to leave window open. Had a very poor fan so had to purchase one. Barn style bathroom door left privacy much to be desired. Overall for the price I expected much more. Biggest positive was the lounge downstairs.

Great room and location

Hotel is well located, just 5 minutes from main train station. Room is very clean, bed comfortable and big great shower.
Can be a bit noisy if the room is facing Main Street.
Didn’t meet any staff as I only use the self check in and fast check out. No breakfast due to covid.

Okay choice for the price

Stayed for 5 nights in Nov. Hotel is also a bar/restaurant (which is a plus) but the overall mentality is that its a bar first and hotel last. Reception is less than welcoming and no exception for early check in. Room was clean and shower was amazing. Location not in the best part of town (think strip clubs/porn shops/iffy restaurants) but close to the train station. Still about a 10-15 minute walk to historic center. Bring ear plugs because starting at 5am the below street sounds like a construction zone with street sweepers, dump trucks, businesses loading/unloading supplies - its loud!
