Our experience at Cocoon Hotel was disappointing from the moment we arrived.
When we got there at 1:00 PM, there were more than 15 people waiting in the lobby, which is quite small.

None of the staff even bothered to greet guests or provide any information. A simple acknowledgment or update about the possibility of early check-in would have gone a long way. There was also luggage scattered around the lobby, even though it was supposed to be stored securely in the lounge area.We were only able to check in much later than expected.

The room was supplied with just one medium-sized towel and one small towel per person, both of very poor quality and barely absorbent. To make matters worse, they forgot to provide the second set of towels even though we were two guests. When we complained, we were told that the hotel had no towels available and that they had to borrow some from another hotel. We finally received them almost two hours later.

There was also no shower gel or shampoo in the room. A member of the reception staff had to search for supplies so that the containers could be refilled.

The room itself was poorly maintained. The lighting was extremely dim and the tissue box was completely empty upon arrival.

The A/C barely cools the room. I understand that the hotel promotes an eco-friendly concept, but guests pay a considerable amount of money and should not have to accept such poor service and inadequate facilities.

Room has a mountain cabin decor, but good size and clean. However, it was lacking in practicality-it has a nice bench for sitting but no chair or flat surface/desk (no place to put wallet, purse, keys…), the night stands are 6 inch wide wooden stools- not useful, and the bathroom is on the smaller side and has a opaque window that shines into the room if the bathroom light is turned on at night. And there no phone in the room if you needed to contact the front desk.

Hotel was really well located for everything, very clean, had everything you needed, very good brand of shower gel etc, breakfast was excellent, room very comfortable, bedding was clean & fresh, receptionist that I dealt with on arrival was excellent, room wasn’t ready but I could drop off my bag, very helpful, would recommend staying here, would definitely stay again.

Extremely small rooms despite pictures posted. Air conditioning didn’t work and desk was contacted 3x and stated it was put on. There was no fitted sheet on the bed just a flat sheet thrown on and the small sofa smaller of feces. I’ve never been so disappointed with a room. And there are no staff on premises after 11pm to speak with. I would not recommend to anyone.

The positive things about this hotel are the lovely staff, who were always friendly and helpful, and the location - it’s very near the station and tram stops. We loved the ski-theme reflected in all the details throughout, and you are able to store luggage before and after check-in/check-out too, which is always a bonus.

There are a few things which could be improved. The rooms are clean enough, but certainly not spotless, for example whilst the sink, shower and toilet were clean, we found a hair clip and a tiny gold-coloured loop on the floor which indicate the floor cleaning wasn’t thorough, and there was a hand print on the window. We had a chill out alm double room which although large with a sofa, was rather dark; the mood lighting is good, but there isn’t enough lighting when you need it. Some maintenance is needed too - the curtains look fine, but the linings are threadbare, meaning that light shines through the small holes in the morning. Our toilet extractor fan ran continuously, whether the light was on or not. All the toilets in the lobby/restaurant were out of use - another demonstration of lacking maintenance. There were no tea or coffee-making facilities in our room which is highly unusual in any hotel.

Overall, you get what you pay for, and considering how expensive Munich can be, we found the price point to be just about fair. Would we stay again? I wouldn’t say no - but most likely we would try somewhere else.

A nice and centrally located hotel, about 3 minutes from Munchen Hauptbahnhof. The breakfast was great and had all you could want and the hotel was clean but the rooms are SMALL. It's exactly what you expect for a hotel next to the main train station that isn't 5* luxury: you pay for the location not the hotel.

Everything was as expected and more. We were two parents travelling with an adult daughter. Our daughter found the pullout sofa in the living area very comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised with a second bathroom that had a toilet and sink, which was very helpful when getting ready in the morning.

If you are driving a decent size SUV, good luck parking in the underground garage. It’s a TIGHT fit. Otherwise it’s a clean and no frills motel.

This is the cutest hotel I’ve ever stayed at. It is a very short walk to the train station making everything convenient.

There is no in room coffee but there is a small restaurant in the hotel and many places close by and in the train station to purchase food, drinks and anything else you might need.

I highly recommend this hotel. I would absolutely stay there again.

I was nervous about staying here as I’d read (after booking) a couple of reviews (here & on Google) saying, “don’t stay here as a woman alone”, “this area is unsafe” etc. However, these reviews proved to be unfounded for me. Yes, the street isn’t particularly well-lit, yes, it is a quiet road with taxis at the end. However, I didn’t feel unsafe walking here in the dark at all. Most people on the road were customers of this hotel or the one next door.

Moving on to the actual hotel, I was really impressed by the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. I arrived 2 hours early, intending to just drop my suitcase in reception. But the staff on reception informed me my room was ready and checked me in! I was really impressed by this.

The room was cosy, a great temperature and I appreciated both the blackout curtains and the shutters outside the window; making for a great nights’ sleep. I appreciated the Rituals products in the bathroom - made the stay feel more luxurious! Unlike other hotels I’ve visited in Germany, these pillows were a good firmness, and not too soft ooo.

The hotel is quiet and although I knew the rooms around me were occupied, I could not hear anyone unless they were on the corridor.

The hotel is very well-located and connected, within 5 minutes’ walk of Hbf, which made getting around the city very straightforward. I liked the character of the hotel, and the free water provided behind the bar is much appreciated.

I would certainly recommend.

One of our favorite stays on our germany trip. We stopped in early to drop off our bags before exploring christmas markets. It was only a short walk away from the train station. I'm a fan of cows and alpine areas. The decor was cute and fun. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I appreciated being able to open the windows for some cool night air. All you can eat breakfast was a great spread. they even had a munich special: weisswurst! so we didn't have to go out of our way to find some to try. laundromats located only a 5 min walk away. wifi signal was great. I was able to game overwatch on my Nintendo switch without interruptions.

This was a great place for us to stay. It's close to the station which was important to us. It has its own vibe which we enjoyed. We were able to use the downstairs area where breakfast is served later in the day just to sit for a coffee. It's a lovely space. And, yes, the breakfast is exceptional. The Sofitel and Meridien are close by, but I would rather stay here at the Cocoon even if I wasn't on a budget holiday!

Such a creative and fun hotel! Walkable to so many sites in the city! Rustam, the manager, was engaging and fun always with recommendations for where to check out next! The lobby bar and breakfast were great places to start and end the day! So much thought went into the aesthetic of this hotel, including the “gondola” decor in the elevator that looked like the real deal while you rode up and down. It had a casual yet fun vibe, we would definitely stay here again!

The cosy room was fine for 1 night.
It’s very convenient for the main station.
When checking in, an entitled guest interrupted and demanded to be seen to. Rather than point out he was dealing with my check in, the staff member, without a word of apology, tried to deal with us both. He ended up getting my check in wrong, saying I hadn’t got breakfast when in fact I had selected and paid for breakfast. Another member of staff corrected him. It wasn’t the best first impression.
But the stay overall was fine for the one night.

Service was great and hospitality was upto par. But the underground parking is very narrow, so only risk parking there if you are a VERY experienced driver. Location is in a bit of good area but there are other cacoons locations closer to the old town of Munich. Bed was very comfortable and layout was convenient.

The hotel is unique, safe, and in a great location. Fifteen minute walk to old town, three minute walk to the train station, and ten to fifteen minute walks to any number of great restaurants. Staff is beyond fun, funny, engaging, and helpful. A few key issues, but they know how to pour a drink and have a good time so all was well. Would stay here again.
