The location of this hotel is excellent, it is a two minute walk from the central station and about the same distance to Stachus (S/U)
My room was facing the rear of the hotel into a courtyard, so I heard nothing from the road and I did not hear anything from the adjoining rooms either.
My room was certainly big enough for one person, even two people would feel comfortable here.
The shower was excellent, and for the price I paid I thought the whole experience was wonderful.
I did not have breakfast at the hotel because it was only a short walk to a local bakery.
I was also able to store my skis and my ski boots in the seller for several days which was also a bonus.
I would definitely stay at this hotel again, were right to get the same price.

The streets were very noisy, through the night. Odd bedding for a double bed?? No washcloths or hand towels. Other then that the room was pleasant and clean. The breakfast was decent as well.

Everything was great, food for breakfast was worth the 20 euros!!!! Oh man so good. My only complaint, and it is of no fault of the establishment but navigsting a full bag and a ski bag ( dakine fall line, fully.loaded) was very, tough. Doable and made for some interesting turns but it was definitely different than expected. Room.was great, wster was piping hot, clean, tucked away but very close to the train station. Staff was friendly, even putting up with my horrible attempts at German. Would stay again, maybe requesting a bigger roo if i came with skis, but this room was perfect if it was just me and a bag.

Neighbourhood is okay, wouldn’t say the best, looks a bit sketchy but it’s convenient as it’s near the main station. The room is a little tired, not extremely clean either. Floor not hoovered, the light switches were filthy. The tv was not working.Check in was okay however check out not the friendliest . The lady just took our key cards and said goodbye. Did not ask if everything was okay or if we enjoyed our stay. Overall average.

The main issue with this hotel is the extremely small room. It was very uncomfortable for two people, with no space to open suitcases or even sit down.

The bathroom had excellent hot water, but the drainage was very poor, flooding the entire bathroom with no proper wet/dry separation, and water even leaked onto the carpet outside. The bathroom door was also very difficult to open, sometimes requiring help from someone outside.

Breakfast was very good, with warm, freshly baked bread. If not included, it costs €19.90.

On the first night, the staff were extremely friendly, and self-service hot water, coffee, and hot chocolate were available in the common area, which we really appreciated.

On the second night, because the room was so small, my sister stayed in the common area while I went upstairs to shower. At that time, the staff told us we were not allowed to use the coffee machine, saying it was only for breakfast, even though other guests had just used it freely without being stopped. This inconsistency made us feel uncomfortable.

Overall, acceptable only for a very short stay with minimal luggage, but not suitable if you value space, comfort, and consistent service.

Cannot fault this hotel in too much in itself, the staff were very welcoming and I was immediately able to store my bags until check-in (check-in was available early for a small fee). For the price I paid at the time of booking, the room was small but enough to feel at home for a single traveller exploring the city. Rooms were clean and sleep was comfortable, and Wi-Fi was free and very fast. You have to ask for someone to clean/attend to your room each day if you require it, but I spent most of the time outside of the hotel and it was a short stay.

Only issues were that the shower temperature could’ve been a little more consistent and the AC didn’t seem to do anything. Another thing to bear in mind is that the hotel is located by the central train station, which makes it very accessible and convenient - but is situated in a slightly dodgy area on a side street - but extremely safe nonetheless, just not as visually appealing as maybe other hotels at this price. Again this is based more on a visual impression than actual experience, though.

Overall I’d definitely recommend checking out this hotel if you’re a single traveller or a couple visiting on a short city break spending most of the time in the city centre.

The hotel is an average hotel for this part of Munich. The room was a bit dated. The hanging chair was not practical to use. There is almost no space to store bags and belongings. The water in the shower can go from cold to scalding hot with the slightest adjustment. I'll pick somewhere else to stay the next time I am in Munich.

There were a few items in the room that I could not figure out how to operate (the thermostat, lights, and rain showerhead) and the hotel staff didn’t know either which surprised me. The area was not high traffic so it felt less safe than other parts of town later at night.

It's a nice hotel conveniently close to the central train station. The area around the central station can feel a bit sketchy (as with almost anywhere in the world) and the area immediately surrounding the hotel is home to many sports betting and gambling venues, so there is quite a bit of noise and yelling through the night, but nothing outrageous. The room and facilities were nice and comforting.

The staff were accommodating and our room was good. The only problem is if your room is by the street side, you'll need ear plugs to be able to sleep through the night. Outside there's a restaurant and someone just keeps screaming (yes screaming) late at night or maybe even past midnight. Looks like nobody's doing anything about it despite the fact that there are other hotels on that block. Also, another problem is there's no place to hang your towels to easily dry.

Rooms smaller than advertised. Room option selected showed a balcony in the room-specific picture. We were told there wasn’t a balcony for that selection at check-in. After complaining and getting ready to cancel and book elsewhere, a balcony room was magically cancelled. Staff was courteous enough. But still, misleading ads at best.

One of the rooms I booked was supposed to have 2 twin beds. They put my friends in a room with one double bed. Then said the hotel was full so there was nothing they could do about that. The manager apologized but said there was nothing he could do so I have to email the hotel directly about it. I did so. They have yet to respond. But then I complained to hotels dot com. They called the hotel and whoever answered said that my friends had gotten a room with 2 beds. They outright lied. My friends did not get a room with 2 beds. I'm so outraged at this poor business conduct.

The location was great. The room looked nice but it wasn't very functional. I think they had an artist design it to make it seem artsy but artists don't know how to make a hotel room functional. There were no lights in the bed area so when it was dark out, it was hard to see. The motion sensor lights in the toilet closet went out every 5 seconds so you have to constantly make some kind of motion to get the light to stay on. There were no hooks for the shower towels. The outlets were mid-level on the wall so there was no easy way to set something down that needed to be plugged in - like a phone.
Most importantly, I booked 3 rooms, one of which was supposed to have 2 twin beds but they messed up and put my friends in a room with a double bed and there were no other rooms for them to move to. So two single, straight guys had to share a double bed for 4 nights because the hotel messed up. AND I've tried to contact them about some kind of reimbursement for the inconvenience and they haven't responded yet. I wouldn't stay here again and caution anyone else considering it.

The location was close to the subway, bus, train and laundry. The downside is that there were always men hanging outside the hotel on the sidewalks smoking and talking. I did not always feel comfortable walking in the area. The hotel was fine, just not the location.

Stayed here for our visit to Munich for Oktoberfest. Walking distance to Oktoberfest, shopping, dinning and convinient stores. Hotel is clean, beds pillows and blankets are great, and staff is friendly. Walking distance to bus and train as well. Hotel is aesthetic and cute. Free water always available in the lobby which is great. Snack for purchase as well. Would recommend this hotel for your stay in Munich.

Although the hotel was great, I would like to give a special acknowledgement and thanks to Rustam at the front desk. He was friendly, professional and made our stay great. Thank you Rustam for making the experience unforgettable!

This area of Munich is a bit gritty with strip clubs around the corner. Old Town is close, but if it was a circle, we found ourselves walking to the opposite end usually.

The hotel and staff were amazing! The most comfortable bed of our trip and great shower pressure. The area of the hotel is not that great. We actually witnessed a man pin down a woman against a car and start trying to take advantage of her while she’s screaming no and right when we were about to say something her friend came to the rescue. We kept watching just in case they needed more help. Every night we would walk back to our hotel there would be a gang of guys hanging around outside it and smoking. The hotel requires your key card to enter after 10pm for two doors, so just had to make sure no one tried to follow through.

We had previously stayed at the property that’s a few blocks away Hotel Cocoon Hauptbahnhof and this one is definitely more worn and the surrounding area has adult entertainment and a sketch feel.
Our travelmate tripped on a low stupid level change and had a nasty fall, luckily was not badly hurt. The step is marked but it’s such a low small step that it’s incredibly easily missed. The staff was very nice and helpful and we were glad not to have a hospital visit.
Would choose Hotel Cocoon Hauptbahnhof over this one.

1. Rooms are very small, not enough place for at least opening our luggage
2. Transparent wash room, not comfortable for family with children, not a single towel holder.
3. One switch for all light.
4. Location is not safe.
5. Noisy location, someguy in mid night was playing song on loud speaker in the street. There were some people right below the hotel who was talking loudly at night.

It was hard to find walking from the train station because of the construction. When we finally found our way, the front staff were very friendly and helpful. Let us check in early! Room was small but innovative? The bathroom is sort of part of the whole room? Also, I unfortunately bumped my head on the angled low ceiling. My fault, but still a bit of a negative for the room. We opened the window, but it was open right to a scaffolding…didn’t feel that was safe so we closed and locked the window. The elevator was broken when we were leaving so had to carry our huge luggage down 6 flights. It wasn’t the best stay unfortunately, but the staff and lobby really were great and still had a lovely time in Munich. If there was no construction and the elevator didn’t break, it would have been a much more pleasant stay.

It was exactly as expected. The room was perfect for us as people who spent very little time in the hotel! Very close to public transportation, but still quiet enough on a side street. The lobby was very quaint and everyone who worked there was kind and helpful. The only suggestion I have for security would be to have additional swipe access to the elevator or doors into the room hallways.

Location is great for seeing all of the sights. Breakfast is convenient, has a great variety and will meet your needs. Don’t know if it’s worth 19 euro, but to each their own. AC and heat are controlled by the front desk. So be prepared to ask them to switch on the unit when you come back from sightseeing. The shower location in the room may not be ideal, but we didn’t find it to be a huge deal.

This hotel is what you’re looking for if you’re going to spend all day long exploring Munich. Rooms are a bit small but everything is well designed to accommodate yourself. It has AC, there’s no minibar but if I’m not mistaken, you can purchase cold drinks at the reception and they’re open 24 hours. Shower has a great pressure and hot water never ever failed.

The only problem and it has nothing to do with the hotel, is the zone. There are a lot of homeless people walking around at night, and if you add that there are constructions undergoing around the property, you may feel unsafe. Yet, I never had any issue and I checked out at 6 am when it was a bit dark and nothing happened.

I’d definitely consider in’s staying there again.

Smallest room we’ve ever stayed in, no wall that separate’s the shower area to the bedroom barely any space to even get changed. On the 6th floor you have to deal with the ceiling height to make sure you don’t bang your head if you walk around the bed.
The door they give you for the toilet shares as a shower door it’s extremely hard to open.

Also one evening we tried to buy a bottle of water from the hotel at say 12 o’clock the lady on the desk said she couldn’t sell us a bottle and we had to go to the shop up the road.

The hotel itself was very nice. Our room was clean and met our expectations. The bed was comfy and the bath tub was a nice bonus. Both staff members that we interacted with were friendly and helpful.

We loved the close proximity to the Marienplatz and all the wonderful landmarks around it. It is also a short walk from the train station which is very convenient if that's your method of travel.

However, this location also means that the area around the hotel is very busy and was quite noisy and grubby. None of this affected us in our room, thankfully, but our walks to and from the hotel weren't the most pleasant and we never felt completely safe. I suppose this would be a problem in most major cities, but I figured it's worth mentioning nonetheless.

Overall we enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to friends.

While the area around the Hauptbahnhof can be a little uncomfortable for Americans, the street Cocoon Stachus is on was reasonably quiet. The door was usually open but the desk was always manned. We had a double bed and a twin. Storage was good. Space between the beds was less than Americans expect but still reasonable and usable.

Decor was tasteful and inviting. AC worked! Dog friendly, though we didn't have need of that. We sprang for breakfast one morning. They had hot and cold options, a nice coffee machine, and local honey. (We were so enthused about the scrambled eggs.)

Staff were responsive and super polite. One went above and beyond to help us with a question about child car seats. (Definitely not her job!)

We would stay again!

Good hotel, smallish, as expected of a city center hotel. Clean, helpful staff and was quiet. There is construction going on opposite the hotel, which although not noisy at all, made the street look messy. It's close to public transport and city center

Location was close to trains and walkable however I wouldn’t recommend walking alone at night. It is somewhat is a red light district. Staff were wonderful and very informative and receptive. Kevin the bartender was excellent!!!
