Nothing like the pictures. Rooms are dirty. Hair all over the bed and bathroom. The bed sheets were ripped and stained. Thin walls were you can hear every step. The whole hotel needs renovation.

First impressions are so important. We had a bad first impression and just walking to our room, we were dreading it. The young man who checked us in talked down to us and was impatient and discourteous. We were both shocked.
However our room was actually nice ... very clean, spacious and well thought out. It was a pleasure staying there.
The breakfast was great Location was brilliant.
We did not ask anyone at the front desk for anything though.

Very nice hotel, very close to the train station and about 10-12 minutes walking distance from the old town. Our room was spacious and quiet ( we had a room facing a courtyard). The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast had a lot of choices( cold cuts, cheeses, eggs, fruit, breads, yogurt, cereal), and the breakfast room had 3 coffee machines that made pretty good coffee.

My room 521 was a good sized single room with an en-suite with a bath. It was very clean, a good temperature and the bed was very comfortable. I appreciated the hot drinks making facilities and the powerful hairdryer, so much better than the usual weak fixed to the wall hairdryer. The main drawback to my room was that I could hear the lift mechanism and was woken during the night. Once people started going down for breakfast there was no chance of a lie in. There is a nice lounge and bar downstairs which we used in the evening. Staff were helpful and polite.

We arrived to a friendly greeting on reception, were able to check in early and informed we had been upgraded to a bigger room!
Lovely spacious room- very clean. The bathroom was also spotless with a big walk in shower.
Complimentary buffet breakfast was included in our stay and there was a good selection of different things to eat.

Overall we had a very pleasant stay. The hotel was very good value for money, with good facilities and in a decent location.

Perfect single room for my purposes, with breakfast including and accommodating staff. While the area has good transport links, there was currently a lot of building work going on in the area but obviously doesn’t detract from the stay. I will say my room was a little on the cold side (but it is November in Munich) but the bathroom was nice and toasty. I didn’t enquire with staff about it as I was only there for two nights and once under the duvet it wasn’t bad at all. Overall would stay again if I go back to Munich.

Very good welcome. Spotless room and good breakfast. Staff all very welcoming and helpful.

Area (around station) is not the most salubrious part of Munich, but I had no day or nighttime safety concerns and this is reflected in the v competitive room rates. I would definitely stay again. There are plenty of more luxurious places to stay in Munich, but at a cost. The choice is yours.

I can’t imagine staying at any other hotel when I returned to Munich. This place is perfect for my wife and I. Well, the rooms are a little small. It was a perfect size for us and forced us to stay contained with our items. Only thing better than the rooms is the friendly and helpful service; from the front desk to house keeping to breakfast staff, everyone was top notch. 5-stars all around!

Ok hotel .. was in the annex

The noise of the exhaust fan and the lighting in the bathroom was awful… we literally couldn’t stand to take a bath with the noise. It was like a construction site.. as for putting on make up, you must have good eyesight. About the bathroom, what a strange layout to have to squeeze yourself behind the door to use the toilet. We stayed in the annex. I would say the breakfast was basic. The fruit was from a tin and the bread didn’t seem fresh at all.. the bed was comfortable the location was good, the staff were lovely… I’m not one for music in the breakfast room in the morning, who wants to listen to rock that early? But the lady working there, did turn it down.

Hotel is near most tourist places and about 4 min to train station. It feels safe everywhere. Breakfast is ok nothing extraordinary. Rooms are small but ok. The only thing is the shower is super small and almost tripped over the high ledge. Not to safe for handicap like me.

Bed for 3rd persone terrible.

We were 3 people, booked a room for 3. Double bed and apparently a double sofa bed.
The double sofa bed was barely a single bad. The most hard and uncomfortable single bed I have ever slept on. I could feel the metal bar of the sofa bed right in my back. And a pillow was made with a rolled blanket or something. Ridiculous to pay full price as a third person and been unable to sleep properly.

Comfortable, Family-Friendly Stay

Our stay at Arthotel Munich was fantastic and made for a great home base during our family trip to Munich. Traveling with two teenagers, we needed a place that was comfortable, convenient, and family-friendly — and this hotel checked all the boxes.

The location is ideal — just a short walk from the Hauptbahnhof (central train station), making it easy to explore the city and take day trips. Despite being so close to everything, the hotel was quiet and relaxing.

Our room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The beds were great, the bathroom was modern, and we had plenty of space to unwind after a long day. The only minor downside was the Wi-Fi, which was on the slower side — not a dealbreaker, but something to note if you rely heavily on streaming or remote work.

Breakfast was one of the best parts of our stay — generous, fresh, and with lots of variety. From hot dishes to fruit and yogurt, there was something for everyone, and it really got our mornings off to a good start.

All in all, Arthotel Munich was a wonderful choice for our family. The staff were welcoming, the atmosphere was relaxed, and the location couldn’t have been better. We’d happily stay here again on our next visit to Munich!

Hotel's proximity to the train station worked well for us.
On the hotel itself, staff were courteous, helpful and accomodative even when we had to leave the hotel very early in the morning.
If there is any small nitpicking, it would be that breakfast in the morning area can get very busy. So require to head there early.

We stayed at this property twice, once at the beginning of our trip and then we booked a second stay toward the end. Both stays included a room for 4 adults. The first room was great except for the pillows (flat/flimsy). We arrived late in the evening for our second stay and we were upgraded to a deluxe room. Everything about this room was excellent! The pillows were fluffy and the room and restroom were quite spacious for 4 adults. The breakfast and coffee/tea options were excellent! The hotel is easily within walking distance from the train station. The bus station is a bit further but still only a 15 - 20 minute walk (requires a short distance under a well-lit road tunnel). We would definitely stay here again.

Hotel was clean and bright. staff where friendly and helpful. Breakfast had an adequate selection of cold meats, breads, fruit, yoghurt and cereal.
Downside is that there is a construction site right outside the hotel with a lot of noise during the day (Mon/Fri) but you can't blame the hotel for that as it is out with their control overall we had a great stay and would definitely book again

Adorable hotel! Close enough to transportation hub that toting luggage was not a problem and easy to get anywhere in city. Expected some city noise but wasn’t an issue really! Very comfortable beds and bigger room than expected. Breakfast was first class! Shout out also to the little hole-in-the-wall restaurant right before the hotel - chicken and donner were out of this world. Bring cash, eat at hotel. You will thank me
