For the location (5 miles from downtown Muskegon) and the price, it was a decent stay. The front lobby is dated and needs to be brighter. The front desk person had a long going on, so we had to wait a few minutes to check in. Our room with a king bed was spacious and clean and comfortable. The site has plenty of parking and it lit well at night. It met our needs for our one-night stay.

I planned my birthday trip to Muskegon and tried to save a few dollars by staying at this hotel. After 30mins of arriving, my family and I saw baby roaches crawling in the bathroom, I tried to give the benefit of the doubt and tell myself that they were just baby roaches and all I have to do is get through this weekend but when my family and I returned from dinner and a movie with a take-home container to put in the fridge, all of a sudden an adult roach showed up out of nowhere. I went to the front desk and informed the clerk, she said that they don't get complaints like this and to make matters worse, when my daughter showed her the picture she took of the roach the clerk said that the bug in the picture was not a roach as if I didn't know what they look like. We had to get into another hotel in the middle of the night in order to sleep in peace. My suggestion is that you spend the money it takes to sleep in peace! We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express, it was amazing! Do Not Stay At This Terrible Hotel(Travelodge)! I wish I could upload the photo we took of the roach, it wasn't clear enough to upload on this platform.

I would not recommend for a single female to go alone to this location. It sounded like there was a party all night just outside of my window. This was too expensive of a hotel for the unsanitary conditions. The parking lot was dirty. The carpet in the room was filthy and floors had not been cleaned.

While the hotel has been recently remodeled, our AC did not work well in the heat wave. The sink was also smashed and being held together by poorly applied filler and calk. The neighborhood was very questionable. The surrounding roads were more patch than road, completely missing in some areas, and a huge swath of the roads were closed to through traffic. Driving into property there was a working woman on the street there. The window in our first floor room did not lock sheets were dingy blankets look dirty towels were nasty room smelled. We had to take all our belongings to car since we were there 2 nights.they did put a bar in the window when we questioned. Not in a good area,there’s a store next to hotel and the people that were around didn’t seem to be good people(I’m thinking a lot of drugs in the area. But the hotel is safe we had no issues. The stay was quiet! Beds were ok(personal preference of to hard) and was clean! The breakfast was good, hands down the best biscuits I’ve ever had. Nice and fluffy.

The hotel was ok. My only complaints were some areas of the room really needed cleaning. The carpet by our window was very sticky, the bed frames and walls on headboard needed a good wipedown. Pillows were small and lacking stuffing for any head support. The staff was very nice though and deposit was $20 cash, which they gave back upon check out. Definitely not worth the price I paid. Towels wouldn’t absorb the water on my body after my shower. When I turned off the light switch by the door, it also turnoff the plugs. My phone & Apple Watch did not charge. The coffee maker boiled the water out of the reservoir popping hot water in my hand. Never did come thru the coffee pod.

There were a lot of pot holes. No awning close to the lobby and you could not park in front of it. Rained the last day when I left and got soaked!

This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. The bed sheets and towels had stains all over them. The handle on the dresser and bathroom were both broken. There was a men's wedding ring on the floor. The surrounding area around the hotel was very sketchy. There was a rundown liquor store in front of the hotel with what looked to be homeless people sitting outside. I ended up finding a new hotel to stay at as I could not stay here with my two daughters and their friend. I asked the man that was checking people in at the new hotel what he had heard about this travelodge, he said that it was known for hookers and prostitution.

For a quick place to sleep, it wasn't the worst, but we were initially booked on the second floor, but there was no elevator and my mom is unable to do stairs. This Travelodge is sandwiched between two liquor stores. Upon returning to the hotel late at night there were drunk vagrants harassing my wife and I as we hurriedly entered our room. We turned on the A/C unit purely to drown out the noise of the loud, drunk hooligans.
Also, the staff had the audacity to force us to pay a cash deposit even though the room was already paid for. Luckily, we did get our deposit back, but I was unaware of the deposit requirement prior to booking.
