My family and I had a comfortable stay overall. The room was cozy and the bed was very comfortable, which made it easy to relax after a long day. The staff were friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived, and they made the check-in process smooth and pleasant.

The bathroom was clean and well-maintained, with all the necessary amenities provided for a convenient stay. Everything we needed was readily available.

The only downside was some outside noise, including police sirens at times, which could be noticeable. Aside from that, it was a good experience, and I appreciated the hospitality and cleanliness.

The property is conveniently located near 3 different train stations, including Tokyo Station. We reserved the Deluxe Double Room, Non Smoking and everything was clean. However, the facility was old and worn down. Our couch fabric was torn, the carpet was tattered, and the bathroom was dull and faded with a jiggly faucet. Despite the minor appearance flaws, we had a nice stay.

The location of the hotel was ideal to access to public transportation (subway and taxi) and Tokyo Station. The room was spacious enough for us (family of 3). Great breakfast selection. Very spacious hotel room for Japan. Room was clean, a little run down/not the most updated, but not in a concerning way. Location was very convenient; can walk to Tokyo station or easily connect to subway stations from metro right outside hotel. Breakfast was reasonably priced and solid! Overall, hotel is maybe a little overpriced, but a nice place to stay.

Hotel Sardonyx is convenient to the metro/train station, it is literally right across Hibiya line in which could take you to ANY transfer to other train station and you could literally go anywhere in Tokyo. The staff are very nice and friendly, clean rooms and decent size. It is in the middle of offices so it’s a quiet place, there’s also shopping malls and the Shinkansen station a mile away from the hotel. Overall I really like where it’s very convenient to the train station 10/10 recommended. If you would like to tour Tokyo via train this is by far the best hotel where you’d able to go anywhere and not walk far from the train station. Highly recommended.

The staff greeted us upon entering, check in was a breeze. Staff was friendly and informative. They have English-speaking staff. The accommodation here is great! They provided pajamas for guests (kids included). They also provided us with bottled water per guest, per day. The room was clean and spacious. The AC works great, came with instructions and pictures to help you set it up since everything is in Japanese. The breakfast is at Royal Host, at the lobby, reasonable price with basic variety of cereal, fruits, traditional Japanese breakfast and traditional Western breakfast available. Overall, a great, quiet spot for travelers. The hotel is also close to train stations and convenient stores.

Clean room, free toiletries on the first floor and water station was a plus. The location was walkable to Tokyo station which was nice.

Cons: I thought I had booked a smoke free hotel but they have a smoking floor (and unfortunately our room was right above it) so we couldn’t leave our window propped open for fresh air at all.

Our shower also didn’t drain very fast which is primarily why I knocked off a star.

Other than that very friendly staff and really glad I booked breakfast with our stay. Made it very convenient to eat before heading out to explore for the day. Food was buffet style and plenty of options. The location overall was worth the stay. Easy to get taxis and the metro anywhere.

Sardonyx overall was a great hotel! The rooms were spacious and beds actually soft and comfy (compared to the hard hard beds we had throughout Japan).

The hallways are dingy and a bit smelly of mildew but that does not transfer to the rooms.

Staff were fab, the foyer lovely with nice amenities. The kids got a special welcome pack of kids bear slippers and cat toothbrushes.

Despite the smelly hallways would defs recommend.

The property is in a great quite location. Easily accessible to public transportations. 10 minute walk to tokyo station, 2 minutes to metro and jr lines. Hotel has many restaurant's in the surrounding areas. Thereare 3 close convenient stores. lawson , family mart and 7 eleven. Lawson is across from the hotel and family mart around the corner of the hotel. Hotel staff are friendly and very helpful. Hotel are very clean and rooms are very spacious.the hotel offers great breakfast offering varieties of options. I would stay in this hotel again.

What a great location. So close to the subway, and with a 7-11, Lawsons and FamilyMart all right nearby this was a great way to start and end our days. The room had a view of the Kamejima River which was lovely, and the rooms were very spacious. Traveling as a family of 4 we had to book 2 rooms. Unfortunately they don’t have interconnecting rooms, but they did give us side-by-side rooms on request. Staff weren’t quite as welcoming as other hotels that we stayed at, but were able to help with luggage storage and power adapters (note that they don’t have usb charging ports). Beds and pillows weren’t fantastic but we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend for the convenience of location.

This hotel was an excellent base for our stay in Tokyo and our favourite of our whole stay in Japan. In a lovely area with lots of restaurants around and ease to jump on the metro to take you to other parts of Tokyo. The area is clean and quite quiet which was a welcome break from the busyness of well visited areas. Premium room had lots of space and was very comfortable for 3 of us. A nearby Denny's diner was perfect for a reasonable breakfast (cheaper than hotel breakfast). I highly recommend this hotel for location, comfort and helpful staff.

Great room with lots of space compared to other hotels in Tokyo. Staff is super helpful and always have a great attitude. Clean and breakfast has both Eastern and Western food. Having access to laundry will make my return home less stressful with all my clothes returning clean home. Location is perfect too walking distance to Hatchobori subway station makes the hotel very accessible.

Not the worst, but not the best

This hotel is definitely dated with its fit and finish. My two issues with this hotel were the AC and bathroom.

When we first got to the room it was supper hot as our room was south facing at it was a very worm day. The AC was only in Japanese and there was nothing in the room to explain how to use it (not a great first impression).

As for the bathroom there were two things. The tub would creak very loudly with every movement you made and the other was with how the plumbing all ran into the floor drain.

Absolutely loved staying here. The staff were so friendly and accommodating and had great attention to detail. The area felt safe and there were many transportation options: Tokyo Station was a short walk away, the metro was an even shorter walk away, there was a bus stop nearby and many taxis in the area. The sound of traffic could get a little loud at times, but it’s a big city so that’s to be expected. I would definitely stay here again!

Sardonyx Hotel Tokyo rooms are big! Highly recommend this place for a comfortable stay. Denny’s which is a stone’s throw away served a value for money breakfast and we ate there for the 3 days we were there. Hatchibori Metro station Exit 4 is next to Denny’s. If you take this exit, it will bring you to the platform to go to Ueno where you can take the Skyliner Express to Narita Airport. However, you will need to negotiate quite a few stairs and there are no elevator except at Exit 2.

Had corner rooms during two separate stays recently (606 & 306) Large room and window able to open which was nice and has view of canal. Second stay the room smelled like someone had smoked in there but perhaps just a heavy smoker. Not anything fancy for sure but didn’t spend a lot of time in the room. Not a lot of traffic at night so could sleep with window open. Higher floor better. Good buffet breakfast in connected restaurant.

Staff were friendly and location was pretty good but limited facilities and the room wasn’t the nicest. It was clean and comfortable enough just a tad cosy and not the best style/layout.

Overall price was okay compared to other hotels in Tokyo but you don’t get much for your money in Tokyo unfortunately.
Fine for a work trip or casual holiday but probably not the place for a special occasion.

A fantastically located hotel with good amenities.
Plenty of family restaurants around the area, as well as many great local eateries and bars. Convenience stores are in almost every corner nearby, and Hatchobori station is within a 1 minute walk.

Easily walkable to Ginza and Tokyo Station also.

The facilities themselves are somewhat dated now, but very comfortable overall and staff were excellent.
